The Thunder King Arc! The mogu tell a legend about Lei Shen, the Thunder King. It is said that he tore out the very heart of the mogu God. And from that hateful act he gained power over wind and storm. His followers fell to their knees before him. "We will call you 'The Lightning King'," they said. But Lei Shen did not agree. "Lightning strikes in an instant and is over in a flash," he said. "But, thunder. Thunder! Thunder proclaims the coming of the storm. Thunder quakes the skies long before the lightning strikes, and thunder echoes in the hills long after lightning's power is spent. It is thunder that sends animals cowering and fills the hearts of peasants with dread. Let thunder be my herald, so that my power is felt throughout the land." "I will be... The Thunder King." Arc Summary: In a far away land, south of Minstrel and isolated from the rest of Earthland-- a race of peaceful people had been enslaved for hundreds of years by a monstrous tribe of beasts, known as the Mogu, part dog- part stone. Leading them, is a monster among monsters who had even tamed the might of lightning. They called him Lei Shen, the Thunder King. Though tried as they might, the peaceful people of this peaceful land couldn't resist. Those who defied them were punished cruelly, and their families forced to build great works as slaves. And so it had been for years. Till... the mists began to softly part, and so for that briefest of moment-- call it luck or fate-- but heroes emerged from the mist. While they may not of came completely of their own will and have their own reasons, their presence will change the tide of their misfortune and maybe show them the path of freedom. A storm is coming... And so Suijin finds himself in a battle, against this Thunder King. Against his weakness. Against his own nature and to discover just how much of himself had changed since he was a monk of Minstrel.... ... and what things have not. Part 1: Beyond the Mists... Location: Hargeon Suijin and his friends are at the shores of Hargeon, pretty much recovering from a series of jobs and adventures. Still, Suijin thinks back at his past as a Monk of Minstrel. Though he left for his own differences and reasons, he felt some senses of responsibility to his roots. Of course, it is ruined when such an old stick in the mud friend from his past, Utakata shows up, once again seeking to challenge Suijin to drag him back to Minstrel. However, as the fight continued, the seas began to grow violent. Before they knew it-- they were swept up by the overcoming power of a tidal wave, sweeping them all to sea... Part 2: Bearable Peace and Menacing Mongrels Location: ??? After they all had been swept to sea... they are suddenly cast upon the shores of an unknown land. They are nursed back to health and cared for as they come to... they discovered they had been rescued by strange panda-bear people!? These lovable and peaceful strangers were kind enough to take in the strangers. They are in a place called the Valley of the Four Winds, where the bear people are farmers and craftsmen, and living in relative peace and are friendly to the visitors, curious of them. But it is not meant to last as tyranous soldiers, called the Mogu, barge in on the villagers. They demand the food and goods the bears had harvested thus far, and being unfair about it. While it is not their fight, will they intervene with these Mogu and stop their cruelty upon the ones that saved them. Part 3: Why Do We Fight? Location: ??? THough they saved Halehill Farms and village from the Mogu, many of the pandaren are conflicted. Some are revealed, others are in fear the Mogu will return, with more numbers and make them suffer because of the strangers' intervention. Just about as revolt is about to break out-- a strange Pandaren monk appeared named Chen Stormstout. While he speaks in the defense of Suijin and the others, fear is still deep in the villagers and fear they will hurt those enslaved working on the Great Wall called the Serpent's Spine. Encouraged, Suijin and the others work to free the others from their slavery working on the wall. However, it will be harder than they think. Lucky for them, allies are close at hand.... Part 4: The Brewing Storm. And so, after learning of the true master of the Mogu, the tyrant known as the Thunder King who had ruled Pandaria all this time, and his massive army, it is clear if they truly wish to stop the Thunder King, they need more than just a few mages and a rag-tag village of ex-slaves. They need truly trained and combat strong warriors to lead the charge. It is then they learn of the Shadow-Pan, a group of fighters devoted to martial arts and magic. However when they first challenged the Thunder KIng, as punishment for their defyment, he cursed them to forever be trapped in stone. But with the presence of skilled magic users, it might be enough to break the seal and free them. However, can they do it and defeat the Mogu mages and monster that dwells on the top of the Kun Lai Summet. Part 5: What is Worth Fighting For? The time had come. After much preparation and the rousing of the people able to fight, the strangers from Fiore had invigorated and raised the hopes of the people and now aid them for their final fight against the Thunder King. Though while they can probably hold out against the Mogu Army and strange beasts and monsters, they are no match for the Thunder King and his iron grasp over the elements of the clouds overhead. It is up to Suijin and his friends to infiltrate the palace known as the Throne of Thunder and defeat the Thunder King inside. It sounds easy, but it never is against an avatar of the elements. Can Suijin and his friends defeat the monstrosity that is Lei Shen? Spoiler for end of Part 5 Characters/Members Joining: Suijin Azurestorm Varriden |
