"no...no I I'm no interested...no thanks I'm good, no seriously I don't want to buy it...yes I'm sure I don't need a...whatever the hell that is." It seemed despite the luxury of being a freelance mage had oddly enough had its fair share of problems, one of them was having a very limited budget to work with and it didn't help that it seemed everyone around was desperately trying to scam him out of his jewels. Though he shouldn't be surprised give for the fact the "town" he was in was infamous for doing such a thing, and yet people seemed to have no problem for throwing away months of jewels for an auto arse wiper or something even more useless one of the lake's 'exotic beverages" which in reality was just some alcohol mixed with nearby lake water. In most cases he would be far away from such a boring town in the middle of a bunch of lakes but his work had brought him here, after all where else would one acquire what he was searching for? Normally his mysterious employer would have him go after some punk loan shark who thought they could skim some money without anyone noticing or protect some lady from some bandits. Hell the biggest job he got was stealing some tacky jewelry from a Fiorean Nobel before swapping it with a worthless duplicate. But this request was...bizarre to say the least after all why would anyone want with the egg of a siren of all things? Such horrid things were better off away from people as far from possible. And more importantly Zoul had no idea where to look for such a thing, he did figure since water is such an important resource to said creatures that they would make their homes in such a place. With the Oceans being far to big for him to search as well as most likely being to easy a target for any natural predators of the siren he opted not to search there, given the fact he didn’t want to get the entire dictionarys worth diseases from swamps he also decided against going there. It was then he realized that there was a place which housed dozens of lakes...all of which would be perfect for said siren to hid it's nest...though he wondered if such an invasive species would able to keep it's presence unknown for to long. In the meantime the young fire mage was wondering around tourist town in the small chance that a merchant would be selling the egg he was looking for, they might not even known what it is they have. But to no luck no one sold such a thing in that garbage of a town instead he opted to stay for a day or two trying to see if they were any sighting or rumors of strange water creatures that might match his target, if nothing else he used this time to train his bartering skills as he walked up a small food stand that was selling what he hoped was fried chicken on a stick... |

Scarlette had decided to go to Celadon lakes as it was somewhere quiet for her to practice her star throwing as well as somewhere that she didn't have to listen to Suijin bothering her. She sighed. Ever since joining TT, Scarlette had come to respect the Water Dragon slayers power but she still saw him as an arrogant ass hat ar times, not understanding why all the women fawned over him all the time. Gods. She took a deep breath, her blue eye closed as she took aim, throwing the star as hard as she could at one of the trees, the star embedding itself into the soft bark. She certainly hoped she wouldn't have to deal with anyone today as she was in a foul mood. She sighed and retrieved the stars, putting them back into their pouch as she opened the lid of her water bottle and drank some. Her fire hadn't gotten any better since joining a guild and it was starting to frustrate her. Why have magic if it didn't do anything? She sighed, hEr eyes turning to the sky before she heard a screech on the breeze, a terrified screech to boot which had the smaller woman running through the trees, following the direction the sound came from. Her eyes tried to look around, find the source of the terrified screech but alas she could not find it. What the hell was that? she wondered. |

Zoul hadn't spent that much time there but part of him was already in a foul mood, if it wasn't the fact that he was there trying to poach an egg from a insanely dangerous and rare creature but there was also the fact that he had to deal with all the annoying scammers who would non stop try to swindle him out of his money. it wouldn't be a lie if the fire mage said he had to get a little physical to get them to back off more than once, but that only drew out the more craftier and desperate ones out. "i'm seriously hoping this place burns to the ground..." he said to himself after deciding he had spent enough time in this annoying little hellhole, no one seemed to have heard about any unusual activity that could be of any help. Though that was rather unsurprising after all if it was public knowledge that a siren of all things was within the lakes a lot more high class mages would be here instead of a all tourists. However the notion of locals keeping such information a secret did cross the young mag's mind, since it would keep profits afloat as long as possible. Either way he intended to find the egg regardless if he knew the exact location of the siren nest, and yes that would mean searching through all the lakes if he had to. as he walked towards the directions of the lakes Zoul wondered if lying to the locals about being a part of a local guild that he was trying to exterminate the siren, chances are they would have given him something since many guild have healthy relations with their locals communities. That being said even if the young fire mage didn't dislike the idea of a guild with every fiber of his burning soul, there was also the fact that such a plan could easily backfire if someone called him out on it. Either way the fire mage would continue walking minding his own business unable to find what he was looking for...it's not like he knew what a siren's egg looked like but he imagined it to be a very big and scaly looking chicken's egg...it didn't help the the area around the kale's were very humid in comparison to the nearby town he was just at and he continued sweat off his face a bit of frustration soon started setting in wondering if there was any Siren to begin with or if his employer had set him on a wild goose chase on purpose to get back at him for failing a previous job. While Zoul was never aware out of his employer's face, name or even gender the idea of them putting a false job request didn't seem to surprise the mage...however when a strange and horrible screech stabbed through his ears Zoul realized it could be what he was looking for ran straight for what he believed the source was coming from. |
