It sort of frustrated him when he could not find that figure anymore. And there, he was, bragging about his predatory skills only to lose sight of a brief glance of his prey. Not that he was alerted to the said prey’s presence before all this, but still, it was a big bite on his pride. Not to mention this was the second one, the woman from earlier and now a shadowy-figure who had semblance to that one in his past. Even if it was unlikely to be the same, it still felt unnerving to think about. And with what he experienced from that Seer’s attempt to let him see the past, the ephemeral visit of his monk friend, and now this commotion, his head was simply in circles trying to cope with whatever was happening about him. And someone was even able to grab him by the hand without his prior notice, that he immediately turned to face the said person, almost ready to strike in defense, but lowered his blade as he saw that it was just Gale. Mommy Duck appears! “I didn’t start the fire,” he said quickly, much to his defense, even when the kukri he still held was still somehow hot from its ability. But really, he wouldn’t. Gale would know better after his experience of the hellish inferno forest. “There was a trapped horse inside the tent. It was asking for help.” He then sheathed the kukri back to its scabbard along his waist. But then, he took a glance around once more before adding, “There was a figure of a man but I lost sight of it. Well, I couldn’t tell since he was behind the flames. There was also a strange… uh… cat-like person, who said that her employer had just given the signal. She disappeared as soon as the flames started. I have no clue what she meant, but she merely disguised herself to be part of this… carnival. This incident is no accident.” Well, that was quite the observation… if only it didn’t seem too obvious. But Nanashi was only reporting what he thought and he didn’t care if others already saw to it. Instead, he looked past Gale and saw signs of the local knights trying to reign in people, animals, and trying to subdue the remaining fire. He wondered how things would be from here on out. “Is it safe to stay here?” he asked in genuine concern, for as far as he was concerned, he might end up getting blamed for things again, like it always happened back in the Deep Forest. So, he quickly turned to start for cover, since he did somehow agree that he would try his best not to be confrontational with humans. But it wasn’t long before a booming voice was heard. “STOP, YOU THERE!” Glancing back, it would seem a handful of the local knights that had been moving about the area for security had caught sight of Gale and Nanashi. And of course, amidst the chaotic scene, the two were not so panicking and running for their lives, and talking almost calmly, were very much suspicious to their eyes. “DON’T MOVE! THIS PLACE IS SURROUNDED FOR ANY TRESPASSERS! YOU WILL HAVE TO BE QUESTIONED BEFORE LEAVING!” And almost on cue, a few more knights appeared from the front, who were initially stopping the flames on that side but were alerted soon after the small flames died down. And so, Nanashi became anxious and growling under his breath, hands ready to unsheathe the kukris and his curse magic slowly activating. |

It was obvious that Nanashi didn't start the fire, quite simply because he had little drive or motivation to commit acts of arson. He had been isolated from the outside world for a good portion of his rather brief lifetime, and while the villagers had feuded against him, he had no quarrel with the outside world apart from the few who may have left their rural foraging community for urban skylines. He was not, in his simplest state, an inherently malicious being, rather he was almost concerning eager to do what he deemed was "good" for whatever it may be that he cared about. Haruto was convinced that Nanashi didn't know how to start a fire anyways, but that didn't matter either since Haruto was frequently incorrect in these scathing assumptions. Dude I was right about the village. And however many times he was coincidentally correct in his presumptions, his errs outweighed it easily. "A man?" He frowned. He didn't notice anyone particularly suspicious earlier, though he had not been looking overly attentively, and Nanashi's description was hardly detailed enough to base any conjecture on. "Cat-person would be a Diesterian native, most likely. Either way, we need to go - it's not safe if there have been people purposefully making contact with you before this took place." Shifting his grip so that he could lead the feral child out of the crowds and to relative quietness, his plans were nonetheless interrupted by none else than the local Knights, who, upon fanning out the majority of the flames in quick succession now chose to round up anyone who wasn't positively terrified at a fire and attempt to question them. As if anyone who did the act wouldn't have fled the seen already. Sighing, the assassin let go of Nanashi's hand and raised his arms into the air, palms open to make clear that he was unarmed and not hostile. It simply wasn't worth his time to resist and clean up the aftermath - plus, he had nothing to hide, and nothing to fear with the Knights here. "You missed something." And as if on queue, the beasts that had been stalking underneath the collapsed tents, singed and scorched and highly frightening to the oversized felines roared, leaping out of the wreckage in a violent frenzy to get away from the place, anywhere but here. It just so happened that the Knights were the closest to the now fearful animals - and the animals had fangs. |

The sudden arrival of the knights had stirred him, in more ways that one. After all, they were geared in armour, some had weird magical items that he could sense, and their voice that called out to them sounded anything but friendly. Nanashi was ready to jump into action, his mood changing quickly into his feral self, but then Gale had stepped forward and raised his hand, speaking to the stop any unwanted commotion. Amazing how the other could think of such. Still, Nanashi returned his gaze to the knights, cautious. Just then, when the animals finally through their weakened enclosures, a lion already sighting a knight and quickly attacking it, Nanashi was alarmed. The armoured humans were quick to turn their attention to the beasts and without warning, used their lacrymal equipment to stay them. He wasn’t entirely sure if this was a diversion that the assassin had meant for, but for him, such things should have been planned before hand. Sure, he may have used the same concept back in the Deep Forest, but that was because he and his brethren had an understanding and each could fend off pursuers and others could assist. But here, right now, there was no such understanding. The creatures were merely panic-stricken, out for survival, fighting against the humans in fear and anger, and he couldn’t help but sympathise with them now that his primal blood had been on the edge since earlier. “Stop!” he roared as he ran past Gale, throwing one of his daggers that landed on the ground nearest to one of the knights. Instantly, Nanashi’s being disappeared in mid-run, reappearing at the site of the dagger where he quickly caught the knight’s axe-like weapon before overturning the man, throwing him to the ground. If anything, after starting his journey with the assassin, and seeing a bit of the other’s skill first-hand, he had come to see the effectiveness of equipment, and the things he had long kept hidden (mementos of his monk friend) had become quite essential. And they proved to be useful in accordance to his style of combat, it would seem. Still, even when the knight was thrown, the lion was in rage, confused and frightened by all the commotion that it turned its sights on Nanashi. The cursed child simply avoided the lion’s pounce before gathering his strengthen, empowered by the curse magic, and then diving at the said creature, wrestling it and somehow subduing it for a quick moment to drive a message home as he glared at it eye-to-eye. But then, another knight would come to attack them, and Nanashi had to break free from the lion and fight with the said knight. The others were torn between keeping some of the beasts down and responding to his unexpected attack on them. Before long, one of the knights seemingly used a strange staff-like weapon and struck the ground, causing water particles to appear and shoot out like a giant wave that washed Nanashi aside for a moment, giving his knight opponent the advantage. Meanwhile a couple of knights were trying to stay another creature, one seemingly using his pointed weapon to pin the animal down as the other cautiously tried to keep it at bay. All the while, a voice would whisper to Gale, “So you’re the one who killed Pashim.” If the latter would turn, he would see a woman with cat-ears and tail, sitting on the balcony just above the street they were at. So casually, so ordinarily, but she kept her eyes on where Nanashi was, before looking down at Gale. “He is too wild to be human. But I suppose that’s because he was abandoned by humanity to begin with. And so, he feels more for the beasts than his own race.” At those words, a sudden growl and a shriek echoed in the area. A knight fell back on the ground in sheer surprise, dirtied in blood, and before him was one of the lions, dead on the ground, a limb torn and blood sprayed across. Surprise and fear gripped the knight as the trail of a lacrymal pinion was on the body of the animal. It did not matter, however. Nanashi heard the creature’s demise and he was enraged by these senseless actions of humans. Truly, the world was far bigger, far scarier, and far deadlier than the Deep Forest just as Gale said. And he had busied himself with trying to understand them that he felt blinded. So he drew out his twin kukris and fought to deliver justice he saw fit, his curse magic taking over like instinct, sending a chilling aura over the area, one that Gale would recognise as something that impeded a person’s physical capabilities or even cause a weak-willed person to feel choked. Thus, giving himself an advantage, Nanashi exacts the same wound as the dead lion, severing a knight’s hand, cutting through the space between the armour. “Too wild, why would he want him? I did tell him to just leave this place. His fault to begin with,” the cat-woman added with a slight frown before she jumped onto the roof of the building and disappeared, sensing that the assassin may want to deal with her. —— Mark of Omega & Trounce activated |

Frenzied from the heat of the flames, for beasts were rarely accustomed to the raw, unfiltered power of a fire, the predatory beast, alpha of it's habitat and unwilling to submit completely to his human trainers, the lion was now embracing it's more raw and bestial nature of a fighter. Designed by nature and tempered through time, it's species was a powerful, prideful one, and had been granted the name of "Pride" for their kinds. For it was a fitting term, as in their lands the lions feared little else and strode about their grassy plains with an aura befit for a king and a reputation that backed it up. Regal with their feral nature and fluid with their lithe musculature, they ruled their realms and did not hesitate to defend it. When intruded upon, they would strike out. When threatened, they would attack. And when driven to the direst of corners a King could find himself in, they only ever struck out harder and fiercer. 'Twas the duty of a king. Nanashi, on the other hand, was but a feral man, akin to a child rather than a grown, matured man, and was as instinctual a being as any beast. Perhaps it was due to these qualities that the mage chose to lash out at the Knights, taking the side of a beast he both knew little of and had no allegiance with. Or perhaps it was simply his dislike for humans, having been on the receiving end on a mutually bloody feud, and he recalled his lordship over the wolves of his forest, now abandoned and left to their own capable abilities. Either way the man chose to attack, striking out at the armored peacekeepers of Magnolia, and either way it was his mistake. Not Haru's, not Aki's, and certainly not Gale's own to clean up. Backing up and distancing himself away from the commotion, now an easy feat due to Nanashi's unmeant willingness to divert attention away from the assassin, who had only recently murdered a man, he then stopped abruptly in mid-step, and turned to look behind him even before his newest possible assailant could accost him. Her feline features suggested that she was the very woman Nanashi had run into previously, the Diesertian that Gale had wondered about briefly, but her cautious nature and lack of any opening hostilities persuaded the Assassin to stay his hand before striking out, as he would've done instinctively otherwise. "And are you here to inherit his purpose?" His hand drifted towards his back, hidden by his cloak, but the message was clear even if it was not put to words; he had killed once today, and he would readily do so a second time if he needed to. His body language, however, spoke of a preference not to draw his blade more than he needed to. Instead his eyes drifted to where hers were focused on - the feral child that had taken a following to him. He didn't respond when she talked of Nanashi, for he had nothing to contribute and no desire to speak when he did not need to. He knew of his wildness, of his unrestrained and untamed nature, instinctual rather than logical, feral rather than learned. He identified with the beasts of the world easier than he did with the humans he was born as, and as a result he struck out at his own kind at the unbidden behest of a doomed beast. The lion had drawn his last moments ago, a limb now detached from it's body and it's blood pooling onto the flame-scorched cobblestones underfoot. And Nanashi, as if in response, did the same with the offending knight. Human limb flopped against beast on the ground, and human blood mixed with beast. Perhaps this was the source of Nanashi's nature, a mixture of beast and human blood despite his thoroughbred genetics as decidedly human, for the forest had the power to change people, and, after enough years, the power to change their core. "He's a fool, don't mind him." And with that she was gone, and so was Gale. In his place was the a girl, dressed in garments similar to Gale's own but several shades off in terms of the color. A girl that held a bow in her hands, black as night and longer than she was tall, though she drew it without difficulty all the same. An arrow as black as her bow was nocked in the string and drawn back, trembling slightly as it moved from the tension in the string before settling calmly into it's nook, the fletching brushing against the girl's cheek. She breathed in, aimed, and fired in one fluid motion, the arrow leaving her hands with a faintly audible fwap before racing through the air, whistling through the plaza and sinking into the cobblestones next to Nanashi's foot, cracking one. Hopefully he would get the message to back off from that. |

Nanashi was concerned with only avenging another’s downfall. He never did understand how the humans had a different perception of the beasts. Sure, he may be a predator in his Deep Forest and he hunted others but there was an underlying agreement within the wilderness. Survival was of primary importance, and any battle fought in its name had a reason, both parties knowing the gain and loss. But this was beyond acceptable. The creatures had no fault and yet humans only think of conquering them as always. They, who were panic-stricken because of the instability of the world around them that had long caged them in, who had finally found freedom, only to be threatened with losing such a freedom… they were faultless. “Everywhere is just the same. This is no different than before,” uttered Nanashi as he twirled the kukris on his hands before firmly gripping them in a backhanded style. But just as he was about to assault the remaining knights, he sensed something closing in to him and with a clink, he looked down and saw that there was an arrow lodged into the cobblestone path. Looking to where it came from, he sharpened his eyes and saw a woman he had never seen before, but from the clothes and the tone, he could almost recognize her. As much as he did not want to leave the scene as such, Nanashi had at least a bit of respect for the assassin and so he quickly rushed towards the knights, bumping them, and then jumping overhead, not to be caught. Landing on the other side, he took a moment to glance at the fallen creature, gritted his teeth but looked away. With his menacing aura reflected by the curse magic, it made moving difficult for the knights and so he would run from their sights as swiftly as he could. And so he would follow Gale into a corner that would lead to an alley before they could exit and blend with the crowd. All the while, a curious eye looked from above the roof. Perched and completely hidden in a distorted field, making only its silhouette appear. On the opposite roof, Rirka the Desiertan mercenary stood, a gaze down below before turning to the distorted field. “I’ll do what I can, though from the looks of it, he’s too wild to control. But I can see why you would want him. Although that other fella could pose a problem. I shall have to increase my fee for this, my dear kind employer.” (OOC: sorry if it's short but it's time to gather around) Edited by Sinjin, Aug 7 2016, 12:19 PM.

The assassin was quiet as Nanashi rejoined him, for the man was fortunately quick enough on his wits to realize that the bow was the very same one that Gale had used against him in the forest, and that anyone with the exact same equipment as Gale would more than likely be related and connected to their assassin in some way. Nanashi knew quite clearly and intimately how skillful Gale was with the bow, and it did not stand to logic to blindly assume that he would allow his own belongings to be filched from him, much less when it had been dangling from his back for them better part of the past week. What Nanashi did not know, seeing as he was still almost painfully slow in more than one area, was why Gale was so quiet. His past half-year had been chaotic rollercoaster of events, more often than not pertaining directly to his mental and emotional stability - which meant that the Assassin had come quite close to shooting the man outright rather than giving him a cursory warning shot. Haru was angry again, quite simply put. And he was quite unpleasant when angry. Leading the man through the crowds, blending into the masses and throwing off their trail through sheer volume of people, the assassin took several abrupt turns, each and every one of them seemingly random, though in reality each step took him definitively further from the carnival and then nearest Knight Garrisons than before, the latter of which Gale had long since committed to memory. It was only until they turned into a sparsely lit alleyway devoid of any life but that of rats both rodent and perched on ther rooftops did the girl, ordinarily beautiful as she was and very young looking spun on her heels and backhanded the feral child across his cheeks. Her face was contorted into a visage of an anger that was almost pure, though it was still threaded with disappointment and frustration. "What the fuck was that?" She spat, speaking before the slap even finished echoing around the narrow alleyway, her voice that of the very man that had berated Nanashi into submissiveness days earlier, albeit with a feminine touch and a trembling tone sourced from anger. And there was no mistaking her anger even if Nanashi was unaccustomed to human interaction, for this was a display of emotion so raw and basic it reigned true as a universal truth. Lips pulled into a half-snarl, she glared at the idiot in front of her, almost moving to hit him again before relenting with a look of spite. "What did I tell you? Nobody will care if you don't give them reason too. Nobody will care. That's what you wanted, right? A peaceful life? People to leave you alone and let you live as you are? For people to stop hunting you, to stop viewing you as a monster, to see the outside world? And what did you do just now? Think yourself a savior of all beasts underneath these skies? Fuck me you're dumb, impulsive, and now, with your shit luck and sense, a criminal to be prosecuted across the damned country for cutting the hand off of a Knight. Congratulations, you just fucked yourself up more than you did for the past 4 years combined.". And then she was silent, fuming as she glared into Nanashi, her eyesight as sharp as any arrow and several times colder. |

As he followed, the assassin lead them further into the crowd, he could feel the effect of his curse magic fade slowly. It always leaves him feeling a little winded because it tampers with his emotions, boils his blood, sparks the life and rage within his heart. He shook his hand lightly as they would turn a few more times before they entered a rather narrow alley. He didn’t know where they were heading but he had trust in Gale to know his way. At least for now, since he did not want to think about what happened. But that was not possible, especially when a loud and resounding slap caught him offguard. In fact, he staggered a bit backwards, hand quickly raising to hold his stinging cheek before looking at Gale in wild surprise. Of course, he was surprised. He did not expect the latter to confront him like that, let alone speak with harsh but definitely true words that emotions rang true. It was just like that time. So, he looked away as somehow he had instantly understood what the latter wanted to say. His brows furrowed but he frowned, though he didn’t growl. Still, it hurt, both words and slap. It hurt like the day he had to see someone dead. But it also hurt, to know that he was just not going to work after all. He would never fit in, it would seem. So he raised his head slightly as he let his eyes do the speaking for him. Calm yet deviant, burning within, as if he was holding himself back just as promised, but he was hurting from doing so. “What about them? They did not think. They killed. Thinking now, when I saw it, it wasn’t so much of protecting a beast. I am the beast and they were hunters called by despicable humans. They did not hear my voice and so they killed me.” He then moved forward, looking straight at her. A part of him wanted to grab her by the throat, hold on to her and show her how much he was confused and hurting inside as well, but he didn’t. His hand may have moved, but he stayed it in the end, only clenching his fist. It wasn’t fear; respect, perhaps, but more so because he knew he had nothing much to argue with Gale. He was no equal. “My words will never reach you. I know nothing of the world but only its unfairness… its ways governed by humans for humans. You cannot understand me. And I know you never will. You should have just ended it back then. Is this your own form of cruelty disguised as mockery of pity?” |

"Shut up, right now, before you make yourself sound even more of an ass. Because I swear to god, you sound like a 15 year old teenager in the midst of his rebellious phase, confronting the so-called evils of this world while being consumed by some ridiculous among of teenage angst. God you're dumb." Haru shot back, snapping out at Nanashi with a look fo scorn and disappointment, though it wasn't soon until his face morphed into one of a smile instead. A smile of derision, true, but it was a smile nonetheless. And it was not a forgiving smile. If there was one thing in the world that Haruto hated the most - one thing, one single characteristic of a person that could tick him off like nothing else, it was a lack of willingness to change and a habitual claim of being a victim. Nanashi was no beast, he was a human. Nanashi was no talker, he was a fighter. Nanashi was no subject of pity and mockery, he was a subject of helplessness and ignorance. Viewing the world, ruled by humans as it was as a cesspit of cruelty and arrogance, he had failed once again to see his own shortcomings and his own parallels to that of the very race that he hated and discriminated against so readily; His own race, the humans. "First off, you said one word before throwing one of them to the ground. People don't fucking listen to you when you throw them on the ground, they fight back. And Knights try to pacify you first, and kill after if they can't do the first without harming themselves. Second off, what the fuck did you think when you killed people back in the village again? Remember that bullshit about being the victim all the time and how it just isn't fucking true? Here it is again, remember this shit, it's easy and you're not that dumb. Thirdly, the lion tried to kill them first because it was fucking terrified. No ill will, but it still tried to kill them. Fourthly, the Knights were trying to tranquilize the lion, in case you didn't notice, which you sure as hell didn't. And they would've managed to do so too, had you not went and started throwing people around before cutting off a fucking hand." He paused to breathe, his breaths quick and angry, completely and utterly uncaring of how Nanashi seemed to instinctively draw closer to Gale. The assassin saw the man's hand twitches, saw his eyes dart to his throat. But he did not do anything to stop the man, for if he had truly done so it would've spelt a missing limb that matched what Nanashi had done earlier. Nanashi was no equal to Gale, but neither was he anything particularly lower or higher than the Assassin was. He was, however, woefully inexperienced. "I can hear and understand your words just fine, thank you very much. And in case you start whining about fairness in the world again, remember how you very unfairly murdered a bunch of people in these past few years. Was that fair? Fuck no it wasn't. Remember how you're human? Well, news flash, you still am one. Now get used to it, and get off that musk-smelling high horse of yours. You're nothing special. You're a human who was raised in a forest and doesn't know shit about anything else, so now you think you're something unique and special and noble and righteous. Nope, still not true." Where Nanashi did not lay his hands on Gale, Haru did so towards Nanashi, clapping his cheeks and yanking the man's face so that his eyes would stare into Aki's own. So that Nanashi would see, with extreme, unsettling, uncomfortable clarity as the girl in front of him morphed into a boy with a grotesque scowl, and even further into the heterochromic man he had seen in the forest and had followed. "Make no mistake, I am no human, and anyone who thinks so is truly wrong in this aspect. I'm a killer, a murderer, a mercenary, and a hunter. I'm the fool who didn't kill you because there was no reason to, and I didn't want to. And I'm not a human, because no human is made of three people while still being one person. Do you even know how it is to live a life like this? Having so many thoughts in your head and slowly losing sense of which are yours and which aren't? Never being alone and yourself? Being something truly monstrous, and yet just human enough to blend in without issue?" He let go, taller now and more threatening than Aki could ever seem to be. And for an instant, a single, minuscule, ethereal moment, his voice had cracked into three, before they melded together one again and spoke again as one. "No, you don't. Because you're the human, and I'm the monster. Now suck it up." |

Nanashi was surprised when the woman before him had suddenly clasped his face and drawn him closer as she deliver more of her point. The transformation up close was quite the stunning sight, yet frightening. He felt agitated the moment those familiar eyes looked straight back him while speaking in the same voice that had somehow stuck into his memory as the one that woke him to this unnerving world. Indeed, he was looking into the eyes of a monster in every essence and it made his heart throb with anxiety. He did not dare to pull away for he was quite prideful in his own little way. Then, when Gale had finally manifested his true self but spoke in unison with the two others that lived in him, it sent a chill down his spine that Nanashi felt eager to strike. What else could he response with but to act aggressive, just as he always had. It was his way of surviving before. It was the way he rose into unspoken rank in the hierarchy of the wilderness. The weak will only be swallowed by the strong, so it is in the face of fear that one must strike back. It is only then would he be able to reaffirm his standing, his power. But Gale was a monster of his own, intimidating, deadly and he did not give an ounce of care. And just like that, the last bit of arrogant statement that the latter made had indeed gotten to him. Despite the emptiness shown on his face, a rise of his aura had permeated so quickly about him that his red kimono had began to burn. The special kimono known as Benizakura that the monk had given him, protecting him always, a defense for the infernal fires of men, would burn as intensely and all who was near would be swallowed. And in addition, the kimono stretched from the ends of the hem and swirl in a defensive curl around him as it blazed along the surface. Its heat and light would brighten the narrow alley, warning against its potential danger. He gritted in anger unable to truly say what he wanted as he watched through the engulfing flames, unrealising the very scenario he had found himself in. But when he did realize it, there was a momentary look of shock on his eyes before he looked away. Like shutting his emotions, the kimono had stopped burning and returned to its original shape and size. "What kind of monster bothers to talk like a human? What kind of human can only act like a scared woodland creature?" a voice resonated from the edge of the alley. There, the robed Ririka the feline mercenary from Desierto looked at them with a critical gaze. "I must say this form of yours is quite handsome though the woman was rather lovely as well. But shouldn't you be hiding rather than attracting others?" She then cast a glance to Nanashi, "Don't wear your heart on your sleeves, boy. It's unsightly for someone of your heritage. Though that should work well for both of you." |

Gale smirked slightly as he watched Nanashi's face morph and contort into a visage of almost tactile horror. He smirked even more as he finished speaking and the man seemed positively disgusted, almost. Disgusted at the man he had thought to be human, and at the monster he had thought to be a man. They did not feel any remorse over becoming what they were now, for they were sustained through this covenant of magic and mind. And in becoming the monster they were, they had become one being, and not multiple. So they did not mind being a monster, truly. They did not mind being something both more human and less at the same time. They did not mind the difficulties that came with their multitude of minds, their multitude of personalities, and their multitude of opinions. Nay, they minded other matters, such as their rapidly declining sense of individuality - an oddity, for a single being to have multiple of. They minded their recent instabilities in unity and individuality; Their errs in judgement and logical reasoning. They minded that Nanashi see what they truly were, and accept the fact that he was not at all what he limited himself to be and excused himself as. Haru was the one that minded the last one, and so they all did. On that note, they minded several other things with varying degrees of urgency. They minded that Nanashi was burning only slightly, for they sensed little malice from him, and they were faithful in their armor in being capable of mitigating any damage it would cause. They minded that they were in an alleyway in the public, out of sight but not inaccessible, and that sooner or later the shouting would draw ears, and soon, eyes. They minded that they had tensed their muscles and had almost lashed out at Nanashi, despite their previous reasoning not to do so. And they minded the Desiertian mercenary who had a mouth she could not quiet if it meant her life. Clenching their left fist and donning their helm with their right, they spoke a quick word to the ferret curled up underneath their cloak, and felt the surge of power running through their body, burning as hot as fire and as quick as lightning. They felt their muscles tense further, coiling and bulging and straining to release. They looked at Nanashi, stepped forward with their left foot, and launched themselves off of that small step, smashing their armored forehead into Nanashi's own, propelled themselves like a diver does so from the top of a springboard. For a few moments stars filled their vision as the resounding clang was drowned out by a fleshy crack of Nanashi's forehead, and they shook their head with far less satisfaction than they had anticipated before clearing their sight and mind, their helmet still ringing in their ears as they spoke. "A monster who's searching for a human, you imbecile." They spat, sneering behind their helm at the Desiertian mercenary. "You should really stop speaking on the roof directly above people you're watching, by the way - my ears work fine. And honestly, I'm not sure who the hell would want this man, and for what purpose. But you know, you're right. I shouldn't be wasting my time here giving myself a headache. Have fun in this beautiful world of yours, Nanashi, and good luck." Glancing at the man he had picked up for a period of weeks, the assassin simply sighed before they went off, shrugging as he rounded the corner. "You'll need it, you snowflake." And then he was gone. |
