I don't even know.

It had been quite the journey from the Wuji Valley, though the detours Jaxus had taken didn't help the case. After what happened, that strange figure, the blast... "Strange ta be back, huh Persies...?~" "Caaw..." //Aye...// It had been months since he had been back, but he had also learned alot since then. Hands casually tucked into his pockets, Jaxus was surprisingly calm, uncharacteristically so as his head slowly tilted back, looking to the stars above with a gentle smile on his face. Something about the stars always comforted him, the had mystery, yet, subtle strength. So far away, even in the darkest of nights, they shined with brilliant light. The sight of the starry night never ceased to amaze him... "Anyway, we should probably head to the guild tomorrow and check out the library..." The granular silver shards which had embedded themselves into his arm at Wuji slightly concerned him, but for the moment? That battle was over, and he was back home. He'd get stronger, and deal with things as they came. Tonight, it was a night to relax, and celebrate in merriment. He'd probably see afew familiar faces at the Guild, and he could take afew days off, maybe even pick up a mission from the guild! "Ta' hell with it, I'm home!~" Immediately, the thought of it caused the boy's smile to break into a toothy grin and childish laugh at the thought of taking on another mission. After all, he was starting to make afew waves around the guild, but he was stronger and wiser then ever. Not so surprisingly, two years of traveling and experience had definitely been a good choice, it still was. Thanks to Viva for the song.~ "Alright Persies, let's get something ta' eat, I'm starving!~" "Caa-Caaw!" //Aye Sir!// He never was able to retain that calm mindset for long, really, he was usually that quiet only when he was worried. It's no wonder so little people ever saw that side of him. "Hey Persies, race ya'!" "Caaw?" //Where?// "Closest place ta' eat!~ Go!~" "Ca-Caaw?!" //Wha-WAH!// Kicking off on his feet, Jaxus kicked into a full sprint, nearly sending his bird flying off his shoulder! "Caa-Caaw!" //No fair!// "GAH!" Regaining her balance, Persies gained leverage on Jaxus shoulder before "springboarding" off his chest, sending him sprawling back and hitting the ground with a thud. "E-Ey! Now that's cheating!" With a heavy huff through his nose, Jaxus quickly sprawled to his feet in an excited, rather clumsy fashion. "Youkoume!" With a blink and a giddy, competitive smile, he rushed forward at full speed, using his magic eyes to catch up with the crafty bird. "Fer'get bout' these Persies?~" Jaxus rapidly caught up, giving his white and black feathered friend a goofy, childish grin, catching up with ease! "Ca-Caw.~" //Nope.~// Pulling upwards in flight, Persies curved back, adjusting her direction straight for Jaxus coming in at full speed! Thwack! "OW!" With a swoop, Persies pressed on his side with a powerful wing sweep, and while not hurting him, Jaxus' momentum was shifted greatly, sending him stumbling forward as Persies shot right past him! "CHEATER! BAD PERSIES!" //Heheheh...// Quickly stumbling to his feet once more, Jaxus kicked off at full sprint towards his avian friend. "I ain't losin'!~" "Ca-Caa-Caaw!" //Neither am I!~// They really were alike, in more ways than afew. Rapidly approaching the downtown district of Poinsettia, a restaurant would inevitably appear soon, prompting Jaxus to try and bring out the limit of his ability. With coordinated steps and foot placement, leaning forward, his speed began to pick up, slowly catching up with his partner, but not enough to catch up in time with the nearby restaurant in the distance. Without the threat of danger, or the motivation of a guild mission, Jaxus was struggling to make it in time but as he swiftly ran through the streets, he heard an array of sound in the upcoming street, only getting louder and louder as he dived through the streets! The beat, the speed, the intense sound of the guitar, it caused a rush of adrenaline! //Faster...Faster...// Strangely, he began to move faster and faster, reaching the limit of his abilities as his feet moved with surprising speed and grace. Aaahhh, the power of music. Jaxus was in a flow state now, and he was now just a stone's throw from his friend! "Ca-Caaw?~" //Forget this?~// Swoosh! "Nope.~" Pulling the same reply as Persies had on him, this time, Jaxus was prepared, shifting to the side and turning his body away from Persies, avoiding her swoop completely! Not done yet, but having controlled his footing with more preparation, Jaxus used the sidestep to kick off the ground with force, barely slowly for a moment as he shot forward at max speed, sprinting at top speed! With a pop of the feet, he turned on his heels in a power slide as his bird came flying right past him. "I win.~" Jaxus made a goofy, huge smile as he pointed to the nearby sign right beside him, panting with a moderate exhaustion, showing Persies he had passed the Restaurant before her with his controlled slide. "Caa-Caaw..." //Yeah, yeah...// Persies could only roll her eyes in response, casually flapping back down onto his shoulder as she returned. "Eeyyy, come on, I'm buyin' the meal, arn't I?~ Come on, wanna' check somethin' though...Ya' mind pardner'?" "Caaw?~" //What?~// "That music.~ Really gave me a rush.~" "Ca-Ca-Caa-Caaaw.~" //Only for triple servings.~// "Fine, deal.~" With that, Jaxus followed his ears, turning around and pinpointing the music further down the street. A good thing to, it could have been a mess if their little race ended up intersecting with a street show. Finally stopping as he passed through the street corner, Jaxus began to approach the stage with curiosity, finding his smile growing as the sound got louder. It had been a little over a week since Alaine started her journey. Becoming a wandering minstrel had been her dream for as long as she could remember, in fact it was all she thought. That the being the issue of the day, since she had been in such a hurry to start this adventure she had forgotten the basic things she needed to survive, namely food and money. Now left wandering through the streets of Pointsetta, her grumbling stomach drowning out her most basic of thoughts, she felt like she was going die. Her mood was worsening with each step her hungered body took, one last rumble from inside was all it took for her break. Shut up stomach! Let me think! she screamed at the top of her lungs, this garnering the attention of the crowded streets she found herself in, their eyes looking her up and down, their hushed whispers judging her outburst. For most people embarrassment would set in at this point, but Alaine was not normal, and embarrassment was not her thing. No she met the crowds judging gaze with her own angry one. She continued through the crowd, her hand finding the neck of the guitar she carried on her back, as if to challenge someone to say something to her, a challenge that went un met. In a few moments, everything had gone back to normal, but with that so had the mild distraction that tore her thoughts away from her annoying stomach. Luck was on her side however, as she found herself in a small clearing of the city and with this clearing came a modest stage. Alaine’s eye lit up, she had found her answer. Rushing to the empty stage, grabbing the straw hat off some poor old man’s head as she did. Quickly she got up onto the stage setting the hat in front of her to collect the money she would obviously make from. Within seconds her guitar was tuned, and she was ready to go. Alaine started to strum her guitar, and as she did a small yellow orb appeared above her. Her shows weren’t like others, it wasn’t just music she brought, but an experience. As the music continued notes started to dance their way from the orb, first swirling around her then extending their way into the now growing crowd. The thoughts of her hunger started to dissipate, now being replaced with the bliss her art brought her. [/color] Edited by VivaLaRavioli, Jul 2 2016, 08:57 PM.

"Heh, interestin'.~" The shining light in Jaxus' eyes had died down as he found the stage, leaving an amused glisten in his emerald eyes as he waded through the crowd, his smile quickly becoming a goofy grin as he lightly chuckled. It wasn't just the mesmerizing sound that caught his attention, but a myriad of "visible" musical notes, flowing through the crowd after swirling around Alaine. //What are those, Jaxus...?// //Music notes.~ Never seen em' like this though.~// Perhaps it was due to the nature of his magic, but while he enjoyed new sounds, he loved new sights, and more over, experiences as a whole. Amusingly, the amp reminded Jaxus of his own magic slightly, locking his attention to the stage. As he became more entrenched within show, like all the others gathering in the streets, and who still were to find the show, Alaine had caught Jaxus' full attention, his expression a mix of awe and sheer enjoyment. She seemed perhaps abit younger than him, and abit shorter, but the amount of energy she put into her music was contagious. //Heheh, she's pretty good.~// If anything, Jaxus felt something from the music, and it seemed like she was passionate about what she was doing, like every stroke of the guitar was done with enthusiasm. It was something Jaxus respected, after all, it was a good trait to have. That's what had gotten him so far in his passion. Taking his pack off his side, Jaxus quickly shuffled around for his Jewels. He was by no means rich, but he still had abit left over, and he could pick up his payment at the Guild from his last mission tomorrow. //Hey! That's our food money!// //Relax Persies.~ We got more than enough fer' tonight.~// Jaxus' eyes directed Persies to Alaine's clothes, which seemed dirty, like she was a traveler. He knew that all too well, his own clothes stained with soil and mud. //Sides, other people get hungry too ya' know.~// //...Fine.// Using Persies love of food against her, he knew she wouldn't argue against giving someone who was hungry the chance to eat. //...And you think she's cute, huh?~// While he had initially been counting his Jewels into two piles, mulling over how much he needed to feed Persies, Jaxus' head "whipped" to glare at the bird with a bright crimson blush and an embarrassed scowl. //That has nothin' ta' do with it!// Shaking his head wildly and closing his eyes, childishly denied Persies little jab at him. Finally separating his Jewels into two groups, "Food for Persies," which he promised, and "spare Jewels," Jaxus nodded tightly at he put the latter group into his pouch with a sincere, happy smile and a firm nod of the head. The smile never left his face as he casually got just abit closer to stage, trying to avoid crossing into the center as he gently tossed his entire Jewel pouch into the hat with a graceful, light underhand motion. //We'll head out ta' eat in abit' Persies, I just wanna' see this bit' longer.~// //Fine.../// Persies could only roll her eyes at his antics. He was so easily amused by such seemingly simple things. Maybe he was a simple person, or maybe, just maybe, he found complex depth in the simple things. Edited by SilverRush, Jul 2 2016, 11:21 PM.

As the song’s tempo picked up so did the notes that floated amongst the ever growing crowd. The moved faster, their colors shifted more as well, from dark green to blue to purple, they almost seemed like an aurora now. With the crowd growing, so did the murmurs amongst themselves, some in awe, some in confusion, and others just in small talk. Alaine stayed focused however, she didn’t really care about their opinions on the matter she just cared about their attention and their pocket books. With her eyes closed to the group she had yet to find how much she had made, if anything at all. Soon her song came to an end, and with the last pluck of the guitar strings, the colors that had surrounded her audience faded away. Opening her eyes, she wiped some sweat away from her brow, steadily using her magic for the duration of the song of course took a toll on her, even if it was only a small portion of what she could do. With her song finished those in the crowd that had enjoyed her performance started to applaud, which caused a smile to form on Alaine’s face. This was the first time she had played for a crowd this size and the acceptance she had received only boosted her already inflated ego. ”Thank you my wonderful fans!” She screamed out while flashing a peace sign. With this declaration, a small confusion set over the crowd. This went unnoticed by Alaine as at this point she had dropped to her knees and started counting her gains. There were a few loose jewels in the hat, which would have been disappointing if not for the pouch that sat in the middle. Opening and dumping out the pouch, Alaine’s eyes grew big and started to water. With this she would be able to buy a decent meal and maybe even dessert. Her mind started going over every possibility each more delicious than the last, small droplets of drool started to fall from her mouth and into the hat that held her new found money. She was once again oblivious to the world. |

"Heheh!~" As thee tempo picked up, Jaxus couldn't help but grin childishly with amusement, swaying to the beat of the song, his eyes dazzling with curiosity as he watched the shifting colors and notes creating an array of colors. Closing his eyes, bobbing his head, Jaxus felt himself immersed in the music. It was a strange, foreign sensation, and while he had been so worried about the events at Wuji Valley, it all seemed to melt away with the beat and tone of the music, immediately picking up his spirits. //Why do you like this anyway, Jaxus...?// //Stop thinkin' bout it so hard, just listen.~// Persies cocked her head to his words with a confused look, before taking a deep huff and closing her eyes. As the song reached it's end, Persies somewhat began to understand what Jaxus meant. Each pluck of the strings, each tune was slightly different, yet, time with an artful grace. //Huh...// //Knew ya'd get it.~ Heheh.~// With a cheery smile, Jaxus couldn't help but chuckle at Persies realizing what he meant. Their link was incredibly complex, after all. As the song came to an end, Jaxus couldn't help but to grin with a full, toothy smile, clapping his hands with a childish amusement. As Alaine flashed the peace sign, Jaxus couldn't help but find more amusement, finding another similarity between him and the traveling Minstrel. Hands casually tucked into his pockets, Jaxus could only chuckle as he slowly walked towards Alaine as she contemplated the foods she could get. "Ey, excuse me...~" As he finally got closer, his hands slowly clasped together as he offered a quick bow to Alaine, showing off his gratitude for the wondrous new experience she showed him. "Thank ya' for the wonderful show.~ I just got back ta' town after a'while, and that made it even better.~" "Ca-Caaw!" As he bowed, the bird on his shoulder flailed wildly, desperately attempting to keep her grasp. "Oh crap, sorry Persies!" Immediately, he reared up, re-adjusting his bird to a safer elevation with a blush on his face. Great, he was already making a fool of himself. |
