Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Sarcasm. Because beating the shit out of people is illegal.

Sol stared stupidly at the brush that Kaede offered him, momentarily at a complete loss as to what he was meant to do with it or how it was meant to help him out of his current predicament. It was, as best he could tell, a completely ordinary hairbrush and not a concealed weapon or enchanted artifact- not that either of those would have been especially useful anyway- but time was running out so as the officer crested the top of the stairs, Sol took the brush and did as he was told, all the while having no idea what Kaede was thinking but also not trusting himself to look the man who was now inspecting them with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity.

As Kaede and the officer conversed, Sol just kept brushing with no idea if he was doing it convincingly- or even if there was such a thing as convincing hair brushing- and staring so intently at his task that one might think that the back of Kaede's head was the most interesting thing in the world, but for the moment the officer seemed content enough to give all of his attention to Kaede and it was all Sol could do not to flinch as the man mentioned- ever so casually- how he'd noticed Sol's quick dash upstairs to find Kaede, but it was Kaede's response to this that caused him to almost tug out a handful of Kaede's hair in surprise.... she intended to pass him off as one of her summons!

Taking a sidelong glance at the almost too perfect features of the pair of legitimate summons, Sol realised that very few men possessed the looks to match whatever overall theme these entities operated under, but from a purely aesthetic point of view, Sol was one of the few who was- to put it bluntly- attractive enough to stand beside them without creating a stark contrast. The officer seemed to be thinking along similar lines as Sol dared glimpse at him and saw the man's gaze flicking from Sol to Ren and then back again as though sizing up his prey and then finally he turned back to Kaede and after an extended silence, he spoke.

"Well in that case... I'll just need to see your papers I suppose", he said slowly, as though reluctant to speak the words that Sol was so pleased to be hearing. Twenty minutes later, the officer was walking out the door with Kaede having apparently satisfied him that she wasn't harboring illegals in her establishment and Sol finally let out a breath of relief that he hadn't known he was holding. "I can't believe that worked. I'm really glad it did, but I absolutely can't believe it", he chuckled. "Don't they like... make you register or something?"

In Bosco, all citizens were required to register their personal weapons and what was a summon if not a living weapon? It seemed preposterous to him that such sanctions didn't exist, but then again it was that very preposterousness that had just gotten him out of a visit to the local prison so did he really have any right to criticise? The answer was no.

Honesty without tact is cruelty.

Kaede maintained an air of polite superiority as the knight glanced back and forth between them, despite Sol nearly ripping out a hunk of her hair. Yuudai and Ren glanced at one another behind his back and then smirked a little. They knew that this would lead to some sort of trouble. And by trouble they meant fun. When the knight asked for her papers she quietly nodded at Yuudai who produced them as if out of thin air and handed them over the man's shoulder. "Kaede Arimaki....From the Northern Region of Fiore. Oh you were one of the Seers for a moment. Interesting." She made no comment, though he looked terribly impressed and simply gazed at him icily. He handed the papers back to Yuudai and then made his way downstairs, accompanied by Ren. Only when the door closed did Kaede turn into a sort of puddle.

"I'm super glad it worked too. I was worried for a moment there he wouldn't believe it. But you fit in quite well with my boys appearance wise I suppose." That had been a serious strain on her. At this point, Kaede was sure the stress of this one single day had taken around ten years off her entire life span. Wonderful. "No we don't have to register. Not unless we join a light Guild. And I am not in a guild at all. So I'm just ... here. And magical." She giggled, a little maniacally. "I feel like they may be watching us from here on out though. My intuition is tingling. At least for a little while they will be."

"Mistress are you all right?" Yuudai was the first to note how pale she had become. A Boscan taking up residence in her inn was no big deal to her. She wasn't one to blame an entire people for the actions of a few. But having people in and out all day messing with her head, and possibly her freedom, and that of someone she kind of sort of enjoyed being around was enough to take a strong toll. Not only that, but Yuudai and Ren had been around for an inordinate amount of time. That meant her magical resources were quickly draining. "No. But I will be."

Yuu looked worried. Ren even more so in his stoic way. She couldn't see Sol, but she assumed he was still mostly grinning because their ruse had worked so well. "Would you like us to take you to bed Madame?" Kaede shook her head. "Can't. We have things to do. An Inn to clean remember? The two bowed and Kaede sat back against Sol unconsciously. "Okay look. If this is going to work, you have to act like them. You follow my orders ok. And no questions asked. Most men wouldn't do something so mundane as brushing a woman's hair on their own volition. So it was a good task to give you to make him think you belonged with me." Kaede looked at Sol. She didn't know if he could actually follow orders as well as Yuudai...Or well Ren. Ren was the reliable one today.

Kaede scowled a bit and sat up a little straighter. "You're not someone I should worry about being a spy or anything right? I mean, I realize it's a little late to be asking now, but just the same. I need to know for sure." It was a matter of principle for her. If he was a spy and she chose to guard him, that was one thing. If he was false facing her, that was something else entirely. "And if you're well known back home, I'll have to give you another name." She sat and thought about that and reached out for her clothes. "And you'll be having to let me get dressed sometime today."

Sol stared blankly at Kaede following her query/ accusation regarding his potential status as a spy. It wasn't that he was incredulous that she'd think he might be as shady as all that. He'd have probably thought less of her- or at least her ability to common sense- if she hadn't, it just seemed funny to him that she was only raising the issue now. Chuckling faintly, Sol ran his fingers through his own hair and regarded her evenly. "For whatever it's worth to you, I promise that I'm not here as a spy. For once I'm just a tourist in the wrong place, at the wrong time", he sighed sadly and let his hand fall back by his side.

"It's one thing to tell me to act like those two... but I don't even know what that means. Do I just follow orders or do summons do other things that normal people wouldn't? Magic, or rather, Mages are extremely rare where I'm from so my experience with mages, summons and all of that stuff is rather... limited in scope", he explained in an almost conspiratorial manner. He neglected to include the detail that the 'limited' scope he spoke of was a nice way of saying that almost every encounter with a mage to date was on the wrong end of a spear. He just didn't think that such a detail would foster the kind of good will he was hoping to build here.

But then there was the issue of his name and status back home and that was something of a point that he hadn't considered. If he went around using his name then perhaps someone would associate it with his family- or rather his father- and that would cause no end of problems for more reasons than he cared to list. "Perhaps an alias wouldn't go amiss. Did you have something in mind?" Although he didn't possess the typical looks of a Boscan, he was certainly inundated with its culture and subsequently naming sense. He didn't know what constituted a 'Fioran name' after all.

"As for your clothes... there's no real hurry is there? We could all strip down to our towels, like a uh... summon induction ceremony perhaps?" He was joking of course and there were far cruder terms for what he was referring to than 'summon induction', but where was the fun in being blunt about such things? He noticed that neither of Kaede's summons had said or done much whilst he conversed with their master, though the only time they showed any real sense of being alive was the slightest tightening of the jaw and creasing of the brow any time he suggested something crude towards Kaede.

"Rem and... Yuuda, was it?", he addressed the pair directly for what might actually have been the first time he'd addressed either of them directly- even if he had gotten both their names wrong- and once they were looking at him he continued speaking. "Do you think for yourselves? I mean, if you weren't given orders could you go play catch out the back or visit the local theater? I'm ignorant when it comes to a lot of this stuff and I don't know if I'm supposed to regard you as friends, acquaintances, slaves or something in between. If I'm pretending to be one of you, how should I expect to be treated by other people?"

Kaede ignored the comment about staying naked. She was more or less getting used the crudeness that was Sol at this point. She would have to give serious consideration to the alias she would give him, though she did feel better knowing he wasn't actually a spy. Not that it would make much difference right now. She could tell the knights until she was blue in the face that he was harmless, if a bit of a pervert. It wouldn't change a damn thing in the long run. Not with a war going on. It seemed strange though, to be rounding up people who were originally from Bosco so soon. But she left well enough alone on that one. Instead, she stood and stretched, putting on her clothes despite him standing there. If he made a move, Yuudai, and Ren would be there to stop him, so she wasn't worried.

Yuudai was the one to snort when Sol mentioned something about them being less than living. "We are not slaves. I could go anywhere I like, but I stay near my mistress." Ren nodded, and Kaede quietly corrected Sol on their names. "Ren, and Yuudai. Or Yuu for short. Don't cock it up. That's a dead give away. These are very much living beings in the sense that they have free will. Up to a point." Ren nodded again and opened his mouth, his voice deep and wise. "We stay with Kaede because she brought us back. Once upon a time, we were warriors, Yuudai and myself. In a time long forgotten by any human being still walking this earth. Our souls were trapped, neither in this realm or in the next. And she reached through the veil and brought us back to flesh."

Yuudai picked it up from there. "We are not anything short of helpers for her. Protectors really. She has no magic outside of us. And we are indeed magical. We can probably fudge it for you if we must, and we must because she said so. But understand, we aren't bound to do her will except by a contract we made with her. For giving us another life, we will protect her, follow her, and care for her until death and beyond. Her's, or our's." Kaede had finished dressing and now shook out her hair. "In turn for their service, I make sure they are housed, clothed, fed and happy. That's the bargain."

She looked at Sol eyeing him up and down. "I think we will call you Kingyo. Yo for short. And you must obey if I set out a direct command. Like brushing my hair, or whatever." She headed down the steps, the boys a little behind her. "I don't think either of them consider you a friend, but they will fake it for a while. Apparently, you offer some sort of threat to me they don't like." She laughed, knowing full well what it was. "Now, the inn is nearly cleaned up. And I need to write a letter to Miss White. I guess. Uh. Ren do you have that message lacrima still? I need two of them." Maybe she could get to the bottom of some of these problems for him.

Sol made a mental note of the summons correct names before listening to the men explain the details surrounding their exact nature- which he assumed was more or less universal for all summons to some degree- and how they'd come to be in Kaede's service. If anything, it seemed like a tale not unlike some of the fairy tail's from his homeland about heroes saving princesses from deep, dark dungeons or foul creatures in ancient castles... except with the major difference in that the genders were all wrong. Still, it seemed simple enough to understand that she'd done something for them- saved their souls and given them new life to be specific- and in return they'd agreed to serve her for the duration of the time that they'd been given. It wasn't the worst deal if he was honest, certainly better than a good many 'real people' he'd met in the past, but it still seemed alien to him, so he decided it was best not to dwell on the matter.

"Kingyo", he repeated after Kaede said it as though it were a food he could taste on his tongue. On the surface it sounded rather pretentious if he sounded it out slowly, but she didn't appear to be mocking him with this alias- not that he had much basis for such a judgment- so he decided to just roll with it. "Yo... has a bit of a ring to it I suppose", he said by way of indicating his approval of the name and approaching the pair who were standing side by side like regimental soldiers and he flung his arms around both their shoulders with a boisterous laugh. "Ah don't worry, we'll be chums by the end of this, right guys?", he chuckled before releasing the pair of now vaguely ruffled men and turning back to face Kaede once more.

"If there's one thing I know how to do, it's follow orders", he said and for a moment his joviality subsided to normal levels before the cheeky grin returned. "I can't say I've ever taken orders from such a pretty young thing though" and he was almost positive he caught Ren glaring at him out of the corner of his eye but when he focused properly the man's face was a mask of serenity once more and he grinned inwardly. Messing with these two could prove to be quite amusing so long as he didn't go overboard and blow his cover or his goodwill with Kaede. Amusing indeed.

But of course there was the matter of a long term solution- which in Sol's opinion could only be getting back into Boscan territory where he could wait out the war in relative safety or at least no immediate fear of imprisonment. "Do you think your mistresses network can arrange something like transport to Bosco?" He had limited first hand experience with such things, but knew enough to know that such endeavors were rarely cheap. Luckily, neither was he. "In the meantime though... I suppose I should start acting... well... servantly, no? Perhaps my new mistress requires assistance in getting dressed...?" he trailed off casually as he crossed his left arm across his chest and bowed like he'd seen his father's servants do countless times in the past.

Ren and Yuudai were not quite so much ruffled as they were ready to kick his ass at any given moment if they needed to. Yuudai sighed, and moved away from him. "I really don't see us being friends. I'm not very good at making friends with males anyway." He gave a cheeky grin of his own, and moved on from there to see what Ren was up to. He was hunting through the massive mess left by the Knights, and looking for a specific floorboard which simply opened at one's touch. He found it quickly enough, by a knot in the wood, and underneath lay a few small glowing orbs. These were message orbs, meant to be sent to Snow if something should happen at her inn. Kaede had used one already, and hesitated to send the woman any more bad news, lest she end up coming down in person to see what the hell was going on. Ren handed it over anyway, and Kaede looked at Sol as he bowed. "The bowing is a nice touch. But if I wanted help with dressing, I'd ask one of the two people here who weren't likely to try and touch anything they weren't supposed to in the process."

She laughed a little, though Ren and Yuudai tensed visibly. "All right you two. It's been a long day, and you need some rest. Go on now." Both looked at Sol and opened their mouths as one to argue the point, each voice overlapping the other in quick succession though the argument was the same from both. Kaede looked up from the ball, and the simple look on her face made both of them shut their mouths like traps. "I am also tired and need rest. This keeping you around so long wears me down you know." Both men blushed with shame, and as one disappeared, as though they had simply rounded a corner and could no longer be seen.

A headache was forming in the back of Kaede's head, and for a moment it would be possible for Sol to know just how tired she really was. She wanted nothing more than to lay down, and take a nice long nap. That wasn't going to happen though. She had things to do. The dark circles under her eyes and her pallor said elsewise of course, but she managed to look somewhat brighter as she stared into the Lacrima orb and began speaking. "I apologize most sincerely for disturbing you a second time in such a short span Madame. I must tell you though that the Knights have pretty much turned the entire Inn over, and have found nothing of consequence so far as I can tell. The boys and I are setting things right as we speak, and it is nearly back to normal. I am curious about something though. I don't know what they were searching for, or why a measly report from known criminals would make more of an impact than that of an outwardly responsible business owner."

She said several more things, but for the most part, they seemed to be concerned with the everyday nuance of how things were going in the city and the inn altogether to anyone listening. She left it at that, and when she was done, she made a show of compressing the ball in her hands, which was actually quite easy, and it flew off, in the end no larger than a firefly, to find the recipient. She didn't think, of course, that Snow would be able to fix all their problems for them. But she certainly didn't think it was going to hurt anything to try either. She rubbed her nose with her index and forefingers, as the headache became more or less a pounding thing which had her annoyed and in pain to boot.

"First order, Yo. Rub my neck please. My head is beginning to hurt." She wondered if he would remember his name, and vowed to practice calling him that repeatedly until he answered to it. She would have to think of some sort of reward based training if he proved a slow learner. But she put that out of her mind as she waited for him to comply with her wishes.
