Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

The wind of fate blew in such a way that it carried a sheet of paper through Dandelion and in through a window at Ashworth Manor. The paper landed at Sachio's feet as he was on his way back to his room for the night. Fate had a funny way of working things out.

"Curious." Sachio said, as he bent down and picked up the flier that lay at his feet. It advertised a special training program by some famous warrior. According to the flier, the Sunmaw Colosseum was hosting 'The Boulder' as a special guest and he was offering an advanced course that promised to 'Bestow the power of legends'. The bright colors and aggressive fonts were more than enough for Sachio to toss this paper out as trash. However, the way in which it arrived to him made him think twice about it. This event was guaranteed to offer at least some form of excitement. Sachio also was curious about what made this training program so great. If this was all being hosted at the Sunmaw Colosseum in Tully Village, then perhaps it wasn't all talk and had actual substance. It was worth at least checking out. Sachio took the flier with him to his room to show Blair and get her opinion. He already knew what his partner would say though...

"Absolutely not." Sachio's face showed that he knew this was coming. "It is probably some scam and you're the fool that fell for it." "But it found it's way to me!" "It could have been a spell to find the most gullible mage. Congratulations." "Blair..." Sachio placed the flier on the dresser and walked over to Blair. He placed his hand on her shoulder and tried to convince her otherwise. "We have nothing else to do really. Worst case scenario, we go and it's fake. You get to see me suffer. Deal?" "As much as that sounds amusing, I would rather not waste time I won't get back. If you want to train, keep training with Artorius." While she had a point, Sachio was not going to accept this. "Blair, you know I will go without you then. You can stay here with the other Nine Lives members by yourself." After a moment of silence, Blair turned to face him with anger visible all over her cute face. "Fine. You're taking me to dinner." "Don't I always?"

Anister moved through the resort town and felt oddly at ease for the first time in a long time. The place wasn’t anything he was used to on the surface, with it’s higher end shops and the clear tourist traps, but underneath that was a place of relative peace. Most of the large cities he had traveled through all felt so suffocating, this place didn’t. He dodged a small family as it passed awfully close with their little children pointing up to him as if he were a spectacle. He never really felt like he was all that tall, but then again with the beard, the tribal markings, and the scars on his chest, it only made sense that perhaps he was a bit of sight now. He’d been feeling a bit out of place lately; this place seemed a good enough place to try and find some comfort.

He ducked into a small stand crowded with people fighting for position in a relatively long line. The small stand smelled sweet and doughy, he smiled, that felt a little like home. Younger people would take off sprinting with round mounds of dough probably a quarter of an inch thick all covered in sugar and fried, their faces already covered in the cinnamon sugary goodness that they had so eagerly awaited. Anister’s thoughts traveled to his wife and daughter while he stood there patiently; she never got the chance to enjoy something like that. He ducked out of the shop having lost his appetite.

He continued moving up the street with a more somber expression on his face. He shouldn’t have let his mind wander to darker things, he shook the thought out of his head and refocused on the sunshine and the wonderful weather, the things that were going well. He had traded in his normal attire for some dark tan cotton shorts and a light yellow button up shirt that he had left open. On his feet he’d traded his heavy leather boots for flip-flop styled leather sandals that, while offering no support, were quite an enjoyable change of pace from his usual heavy wear. He was truly a man touring the resort town, and why shouldn’t he? He’d dealt with plenty of trouble lately, it was time for some peace.

A piece of paper flew right into his face and landed in such a way that it stayed there rather than bouncing off. He reached up and pulled it off, on the detailed side was a brightly colored flyer with a man holding a boulder over his head. While the colors were bright and catching the actual art was somewhat poorly done, underneath the picture were big words that then continued onto the back. Anister read it, intrigued by the bright colors and boulder tossing man on the front, if that’s what he was supposed to be doing. The flyer talked about bestowing the ‘Power of Legends’ in some kind of training course. Anister had lived in a small town but even he found it a little far fetched to think that a single training session could do anything like that. He shrugged, it was something to do though, and he was looking to burn some time. He decided to go, he didn’t need directions, the coliseum was hard to miss.

Morning came and Sachio woke up to a face full of fur. Blair had found herself on his chest during the night. Cats always did like doing stuff like that. He signed quietly because he knew if he moved too much or cause a lot of noise, she would be woken up and he would suffer for it. She was quite volatile. He stroked Blair's back softly which resulted in a soft purr. Smiling, Sachio reached for a pillow and got his other hand in position for the swap he had planned. In one quick and fluid movement, he lifted Blair just enough to slide the pillow beneath her. He then gently laid the pillow on the bed and was able to get up. Free from his fuzzy burden, Sachio went to go take a shower and get dressed. In the time it took for him to get ready for the day, Blair had finally gotten up and started her shower and preparation as well. "Gonna go get breakfast." "Yea yea..." Neither of them were morning people, but she was much worse.

After a pretty quiet breakfast, the two sleepyheads departed for Tully Village. The train was the transportation of choice this time, especially due to their destination's central location. Fares were cheap and the ride was quick. The only bad part was dealing with all the other passengers and other annoyances. Sachio looked over the flier a bit more during the ride. He thought a lot about it's arrival and how coincidental it all could really be. "Still think this is going to be worthwhile?" Blair asked as the departed the train after a uneventful ride. "You never know. Curiosity is fueling me at this point." Sachio answered, telling the truth. His curiosity had the best of him currently. "I'd make a joke about curiosity killing the cat, but that's you." Sachio said with a laugh. Blair didn't find it funny.

As they made their way through Tully's train station, they could see the grandeur of the place quite clearly before they even got into it. It was just as great as people say it is. Large flashing lacryma billboards displayed all sorts of advertisements and upcoming shows, carts with various foods and souvenirs rolled by with enthusiastic salesmen, and extremely tall buildings that housed multiple stores and homes lined the streets everywhere you looked. The energy of this place could be felt in the air. "Wow. What a place. Seems easy to get caught up in." Sachio said to Blair. Or, he would have if she was next to him still. Blair had already approached a vendor who was selling sushi burritos. It was a glorious creation and one that Sachio had to be part of as well. He rushed over to his partner to secure his own food as well. "This is not the place to lose yourself Blair." Sachio said with a smile. The smile was more for the amazing food he was now stuffing his face with. Tuna, rice, avocado, crab, tempura shrimp, spicy mayo, and seaweed, all rolled together in the most amazing meal ever. This was the right way to start his training.

They both headed for the large Colosseum that was located in Tully's center. It was visible from almost anywhere in the city. This was where the training was to take place. As they got close, Blair looked like she had caught wind of something. She turned her head and sniffed the air. "Anister. Again? Is this man following us now?" "Oho, really? In the Colosseum? I wonder if he is here for the training too." "He seems to be there, yes." "Let's go say hi I guess." Sachio followed Blair as they entered the large circular structure. Even during the day and with no show currently happening, the place was packed. How Blair managed to smell him with all these people and while she ate, was impressive. Eventually, they did find the man where Blair said he would be. "Here to get stronger too?" Sachio said to Anister, coming up behind the man. He spoke first instead of startling him. He didn't want to give the man a heart attack.

The coliseum was unlike anything the large man from a nowhere logging town had ever seen. He’d been to capitols with great buildings and castles with towers that loomed but nothing was quite like the grandeur of this one circular building. To think that they had chosen to place it in a place like this. He moved closer to the building and made his way through the crowd, he’d already come to the conclusion that this place was going to be packed. He weaved around an angry looking man being escorted away by security before finally coming to the entrance of the coliseum. There were lines of people both coming and going, something must have just recently ended because as people were filing out en mass they were loudly proclaiming excitement, most of them fairly young. Anister didn’t see a way around avoiding the line so he took his place and waited patiently.

Before long he’d entered into the throng of people bustling along the large corridors, Anister had to give credit to the designers, they at least knew enough to build it big. He moved to a small vendor built into the wall of the coliseum. The line wasn’t as long as it could have been but it was still a good ten minute wait before he made his way to the front and ordered a small bag of cooked chicken bites. They were boneless and fried to make eating all the simpler and came with a bitter sweet sauce that left a tangy aftertaste, a worthy way to waste his time if he’d ever had one. He looked to the flyer he was still carrying around, the training session as it referred to it was still about ten minutes out.

Anister had just realized something, was he going to need to buy a ticket or something? The flyer didn’t say, all it referenced was that there would be limited seating; Anister was fairly certain that was simply a scare tactic, the coliseum was huge, he couldn’t imagine everyone not getting a seat with some left over. He walked down the crowded corridors hoping to find some kind of context clue that would tell him whether or not he needed a ticket.

As he looked around for a ticket booth or something similar a strangely familiar voice came from behind him. A big smile crossed his face as he turned to see the dark eyed assassin, looking as strange as ever, Sachio Hanabe. ”Well hi friend, you know if we keep running into one another like this I am going to have to believe you are stalking me.” He joked at the young man. They had only recently run into one another on a more, well, odd mission. ”Almost missed you there Blair.” He poked at the little assassin. He still hadn’t decided if she was more dangerous or if it was the dark eyed man, he really didn’t care to ever really find out. ”As far as getting stronger goes, well we’ll see but I’m sure you’ll agree with the sentiment that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” He didn’t want to rain on their parade if they actually thought this would end in them getting some legendary powers but he had a feeling that wasn’t why they were here. Every time he’d ever seen the two of them someone got killed. He couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed inside as he realized his vacation may have just come to an abrupt halt.

"Well, we can smell you. So I suppose that wouldn't be a completely crazy assumption." Sachio said in response to Anister's joke. The line the man then said to Blair resulted in a laugh from Sachio but a death glare from Blair. They may have run into each other a few times, but she still didn't trust him. That didn't say much though. She barely trusted anyone. Sachio nodded as Anister talked about this 'training' being too good to be true. "Oh yes, I completely agree, but the flier found it's way through a window and landed at my feet. It just had to check it out. You believe in fate right? Plus, I am at least somewhat curious as to what this will all entail." It was more of a half and half mix of boredom and the fate thing. Still, it was more than enough to drag Sachio here who in turn dragged Blair. She was at least placated by the food.

There was a registration line forming in front of a desk. A single blue haired woman sat behind it in a burgandy dress suit and a matching cap. She greeted each person who approached the desk with a smile and began jotting down their information. People were then escorted further into the building where they were to wait for the training session to begin. "Looks like we need to go get signed up before it's full." Sachio said to Anister with a nudge of his elbow. Sachio joined the line while Blair frowned. She wasn't going to be joining this event. "I think I will just watch you guys from the stands." Blair said to Sachio. "That's fine. I am sure you will just keep eating stuff anyway" With a sigh, Blair left Sachio's side and went to buy a ticket to view the event. She then went directly to the food vendors.

Sachio and Ansiter waited in line until it was eventually their turn to register for the training. "Welcome and hello! You are here to learn from The Boulder, yes? Great! I just need you to fill out a bit of information and sign some release forms. You'll see that one of the forms states that any and all injuries received during this event are not Sunmaw Colosseum or The Boulder's responsibility and you are aware of this information. Thank you!" The blue haired woman had obviously said all of this dozens of times because the way she spoke sounded like a commercial. She was extremely cute though, so Sachio supposed it wasn't as annoying as it could have been. "Yea, alright." Was all he said as he began filling out his personal information. He then handed the woman the forms and she continued with the next part. "Perfect, Mister...Hanabe" She said, reading the paper for his name. "Hanabe... I see. Well this will be interesting." Sachio rolled his eyes. He would have Blair remind him to change his last name eventually. "Please follow me." Her voice was noticeably more shaky now. "I don't associate with them. Don't worry." Sachio said in quietly to the woman. Sometimes he forgot how well known his family was.

They arrived to a dull grey waiting room with multiple lockers and benches. All sorts of tough looking men and women were sitting around, talking, or working out already. None of them looked particularly impressive. They were mostly aesthetically strong people. The sort of people that bulk up to appear impressive, but lack the actual skill and strength of a real fighter. He hated those people. He made it his goal to embarrass them today. "Let's find a seat." Sachio said to Anister.

The small woman who just happened to be a cat always seemed to be wound awfully tightly. Back in his village there would have been plenty of comments made depicting the various things she ‘needed’ but Anister was too smart to say any of them with her nearby or even to Sachio for that matter. Anister didn’t figure that kind of humor was common amongst his assassin buddies. After the younger man acknowledged that this was probably a scam they quickly split, Sachio and Anister heading to register and Blair to the stands. It was a far more crowded event than the big guy had originally thought it would be, men of all shapes and sizes were busy pushing into the line clearly eager for this so called training session. A few wild elbows connected with Anisters well muscled arms as they made their way to registration, it wasn’t beginning well.

He put his name down, signed the forms, and finally listened in on the conversation Sachio was having. Clearly his last name was bringing him a bit of unwanted attention. The woman was incredibly efficient in the way she had run down her well practiced statement but seemed to break character when reading his name, Anister smiled a bit. He still hadn’t learned anything about the Hanabe, he’d figured that if they were all like Sachio then he’d be better off not knowing anymore than he had to. He followed behind them at a steady pace, the woman was clearly in no hurry. Once they arrived in the grey room Anister was almost tempted to laugh, if this was supposed to be a competition he was really not dressed for it. He’d thought he was just going to sit back, listen to some blowhard say something dumb, then leave with a coupon for a free burrito or something.

He pulled another one of the chicken bites from the bag he was still carrying, dipped it into the sauce and then tossed it into the air before catching it with his mouth. Were they going to have to fight? If not it seemed strange that so many of the people already in the room were prepping for one. Anister followed Sachio’s lead and took a seat against the back wall where they could successfully people watch. To the left was a woman with arms bigger than Anisters, he’d never seen anything quite like that. Her dark skin made her ridiculously ripped physique almost look like it was glowing in the light, if nothing she had to be near the top of the list for best of show.

A taller blonde man approached the duo with what looked like two lackies quickly in tow, ”Listen, I’ll tell you like I told everyone else, when shit starts just get out of my way.” He had a kind of deep whiny voice, it was an odd tone. ”Judging by this weirdo’s size and your fucked up chest it’s probably safer if you don’t even leave the tunnel, what got you anyways, some stupid cat?” Anister really wished Blair had been around to hear that one.

”Yup, big cat.” Anister responded in a dead tone, he was on vacation and this was supposed to be fun. He ate the last piece of chicken in his bag before rolling it and tossing it into a nearby trash can. The way this guy was talking Anister figured he would be the luckiest man alive if Sachio even let him make it out of the tunnel at this point.

Just when Sachio thought he couldn't be more unimpressed with these people, he was approached by a trio of men. Sachio tuned them out for the most part. He wasn't as quick to murder someone as he used to be. Sure, he could have destroyed all three of them quickly, but he wasn't trying to risk getting kicked out. He would just have to ignore them for now. However, Sachio did debate on messing with them at least slightly. He considered his options and then settled for something not so flashy but effective. When the men finally turned around from their little tirade, Sachio spit a small condensed bit of magic on the man's calf. It was room temperature, so the man wouldn't feel it on him. After around a minute had passed, the tall blonde man had begun vomiting uncontrollably. He would likely be done for the day. Sachio nudge Anister and laughed quietly. "Killing him here would be more trouble that it's worth. But yea, I probably would have. I know you were thinking it."

A large lacryma screen showed the time and the countdown till the event started. They had around thirty minutes left until they were led to the arena floor. Sachio wanted to know what made this guy so special that he got his own event in this place. He had never heard the man's name before, but judging from all the trouble people were going through to attend this or participate, he must have been someone somewhat famous. Then again, Sachio never really kept up with trends and what not. He would just have to wait until it was time to start so that he could find out what this guy had planned.

The countdown finally reached zero and soon after, the lady from earlier had come in. Sachio winked at her which for a brief moment took her smile off her face and replaced it with concern. He would enjoy playing with this lady. "Would you all follow me please. It is time to begin!" A line formed quickly and they were led to the arena. The tunnel leading to the middle of the Colosseum was just as dark and long as they were depicted. So much so, that when they emerged, they were temporarily blinded from the extremely bright lights and screens. The crowd screamed and cheered as the participants poured into the main floor. Standing there in the center was The Boulder, standing heroically and with a dumb grin on his face. This guy was even more disappointing in person than the flier. "Welcome chumps. I am The Boulder and you guys are here to learn the secret to becoming as powerful as me!" He flexed and posed which caused the crowd to erupt into cheers and whistles. Sachio was quite displeased. He would see this out though.

It was actually a pleasent surprise that Sachio didn’t simply cut the man down where he stood to prove a point. Anister was forced to assume he had misjudged the young man in their first encounter, after all the only man he hadn’t gone about quickly dispatching his first time they met was Anister himself, a fact the big guy was still very happy about. Then the young man leaned over and admitted that he would have killed the men if it weren’t more trouble than it was worth. The feeling that perhaps he had misjudged the man left Anister immediately. The three men had already walked off when Sachio made his confession, for their sake Anister hoped this wouldn’t turn into a brawl.

Anister watched the lacrima clock click down second after second. He really hated waiting, what was even worse was the fact that it was probably all going to have been a big waste of time. He kept telling himself that as long as it didn’t turn into a bloodbath he was ok with wasting time, he just didn’t want to have to ruin his new vacation cloths. Also, he was really trying to find a bit of himself that he’d lost while searching for leads to the Diabolo’s, the gentler side. He crossed his large arms and leaned back for the last few moments before the event began, he’d thought this would be a small thing that went by quickly, he was regretting being here.

When the clock hit zero and the woman from earlier returned to escort them. Anister couldn’t be sure but he thought that perhaps just looking at Sachio caused her demeanor to change a bit. Anister really needed to look into this whole Hanabe name thing, if just meeting someone with that name sent most people running maybe it was worth a bit of investigating. Anister thought about it for a moment longer, it was Sachio’s problem, he’d help if asked but his first course of action was probably the right one, avoid and ignore. Anister made his way through the tunnel a step behind the dark eyed assassin, the blonde man who had threatened them earlier had mysteriously vanished from the field, with a quick glance over his shoulder Anister thought he caught sight of him lurched over into the trash can hurling his guts out. He smiled a bit, Sachio wasn’t so different from last time, less blood but still short fused. When Anister finally got his first look at the man who was being called ’The Boulder” he immediately wanted to turn back down the tunnel and walk away. Sure he had acknowledged this would probably be a waste of time, but now he really just wanted to punch the instructor and that was probably not such a great idea.

”Why are we here again?” Anister whispered to Sachio knowing he could only answer for himself. It was said more to simply find out if he had come to the same conclusion the big guy had about the man with the awkward afro in front of them. ”If you get the chance, please punch that guy”

"I think I would do more than just punch the guy." Sachio said to Anister in response to his comment about The Boulder. Sachio didn't understand why people were so easily swayed by such apparently lame people. Just from looking at the guy and reading read, Sachio could tell this Boulder guy was a joke. He had come this far though, so he might as well stick it out. "You are all here because you want to become strong enough to have your own legends right? Well I can help you! The only thing is, I will only train two of you. The two left standing after a free for all will be the two people who make it through to have a chance to spar with me! Do your best, chumps!" With that, The Boulder walked off of the main stage and raised his hand. Everyone in the group instantly spread out and prepared to fight. Sachio merely turned to Anister. "Just stay right next to me." Everyone began either growling or making mean faces at each other. Sachio just stared blankly ahead, at no one in particular. This wasn't going to last long anyway.

The Boulder lowered his hand straight down, which signaled the start of the fight. Everyone started scrambling and punching while Sachio just grabbed his sword with lightning fast speed. Sachio then sighed heavily and gathered Misery's End's magic around Anister and himself. A large black and purple tornado almost instantly swirled to life around them. The tornado took up the entire stage space and hit everyone inside. Every contestant was instantly floored by the poison magic. The crowd was silent and eyes were wide at this display of magic. After Sachio was sure the other people were down and done, Sachio ceased the tornado and walked casually to the end of the stage where The Boulder was. "So, about the sparring." He said with a bored expression. The Boulder could hardly even get the words out to answer Sachio. "I..uh..well.. yea, about that. I don't want to hurt you, so I will let you pass for now. Let's get to the training bit. But first, let's get the stage cleared." The Boulder whistled loudly and a group of medics came with stretchers and took the defeated people away. They were essentially taking the trash out.

"Congrats to these two contestants. Tell the crowd who you are!" The large lacryma screens all showed Sachio and Anister close up. The entire Colosseum was waiting for them to speak. "Sachio." Was all the Dragon Slayer said. "Well Sachio, that was some impressive displays of power. Nothing compared to me, obviously, but I see you have skill. How about you?" He said, finishing with asking Anister for his name.

With every word the big mouthed loser on the stage spit out Anister felt a tug threatening to drag his fist to right into The Boulders teeth. He wasn’t usually this thin skinned but something about this clear fake was rubbing him the wrong way. When he finally did them all the favor and got to the point all he was really trying to do was wear them out. So his plan was to let them fight then fight the two people left standing? That seemed cowardly and yet the crowd seemed to lap it up. Either this dude had saved the world or he was simply so good at telling everyone he was great that they had eventually bought it. Either way Anister knew he and Sachio were going to be the last one’s standing, so at least he would get to smash that guys face in after all.

Sachio took the lead, he was never one to dawdle. He grabbed a weapon Anister had only vaguely seen before, it was a sleek sword but it seemed to radiate energy. Anister did as his ally told him to, he’d seen how this ended. When the poison tornado sprung up around them Anister had to admit that this was a bit different than last time. Maybe the reason Sachio had insisted that he stand so close was because they needed to remain in the eye of the tornado. He had realized something was different about the dark eyed man during their last meeting but he hadn’t had the chance to really gauge the difference, now he was a bit closer to the changes.

While the look may have been different, the effect was very much the same. When the tornado cleared there was no one left standing outside of Anister and Sachio. A smile crept over the big guys face as he cracked his knuckles and readied to deliver a world class beating to the world class fake. Unfortunately right as they were about to get their chance Sachio actually gave the man an out, by this point medics were already clearing the field and a number of oos and aahs could be heard growing amongst the crowd. Clearly the found Sachio interesting, when The Boulder managed to weasel his way out of the spar by undercutting them though the crowd went insane. Anister wanted to have Sachio breath a cloud of poison into the stands

After Sachio had got done introducing himself they shoved the mic in Anisters face, he didn’t much appreciate it and pushed it away. He didn’t need a whole coliseum of people to know who he was, he’d started to say as an afterthought and had really hoped to keep it that way. He gave The Boulder a dangerous smile and waited for the next instructions, he would have to get down and take a punch from one of them at some point, Anister almost hoped it was Sachio because he was likely to leave the big headed loud mouth with a lasting poison to remind how weak he really was.
