7:00 AM. When people were just starting to rise or possibly rushing to their workplaces and appointments there was one girl who idly sat in the most unusual place to chill in this early morning: the hospital. She was not there to have herself checked, even if in all honesty her chest had been aching due to months of being constantly restrained by binds and bandages. It was an early communion with the creatures she had promised to visit and feed every time she was in Poinsettia --- the stray cats of its park-like premises. The vicinity of the hospital was one of the resounding proofs that nature and architecture could coexist with each other. The vast premises which was dominantly green in color thanks to the bermuda grass the staff had painstakingly maintained which surrounded the five-story edifice was filled with oak trees and bushes, with the exception on the eastern side which was facing a man-made lake where different species of fish could be seen peacefully existing away from the pollution of humanity. Pathways towards the entrance and the other areas of the hospital could easily be noticed as it was the only that held the color of asphalt, albeit it was lined with well-maintained flowering bushes and shrubs. Benches could be seen nearby, mostly under the shades of trees. The main building itself on the exterior was painted with white, though most of the walls were replaced with glasses to allow natural light to pass through. It was believed that the hospital was built in such a way so as to promote not only physical healing but also the healing of the mind and the spirit. Moreover, since a number of their patients were those of grave diseases, the scenery aimed to steer their mind away from the thoughts of their imminent death, hoping that they would help themselves fight off their own diseases. Under the shade of a tree in the western side, Tsuna who was still maintaining her faux personality as Daiki Kushinada, the brother of the heiress of the Kushinada clan of Crocus, quietly tossed bits and pieces of tuna sandwich onto the ground as five cats of different colors and sizes scurried to take the treat. A cup of coffee sat beside the young lady as she let the fresh morning air brush her tender skin which was finally freed from the leather hooded jacket that constrained it most of the time. The jacket, however, was placed on her lap. The scent of the coffee could entice one's senses as long as he within three meter radius. "Hey, hey," Tsuna said to the hungry felines as one of them which had a gray stripped fur pawed the head of an orange tabby, "don't fight, there's a plenty for everyone." Dash exited the hospital, a bandage wrapped around his arm. “I realize that jumping off that roof was not a good idea….well how else was I gonna catch that duck. May I remind you, Marshall, that it was flying at the time. So roof jump seemed like a good idea,” Dash stated to himself, his head rocking from side to side. “Anyways it was a nice hospital. Now we know where to go.” Sniffing the air Dash’s face become incredibly puzzled. It smelled like nature like one might expect but he also picked something else up. Tuna. Also cats and coffee. Glancing around Dash finally spotted where the smell was coming from. A young man, with impeccable skin, was feeding cats. He must have also been drinking coffee because Dash was pretty sure that’s where the smell was coming from. Only one thought crossed his mind though as he slowly made his way towards the boy. “What kinda of lotion does he use?” Dash asked aloud. Stopping suddenly, Dash blinked quickly. “What do you mean a boy doesn’t have skin like that Lisa...it has to be a boy right? Also, I feel...like I know him. Just can’t quite remember.” Dash began to make his way towards the boy again before stopping again. “I swear it must be a boy but you keep saying it’s a lady. I’m getting confused now.” Following the pathway to the bench that the young man accompanied Dash took a seat next to him. Staring at the boy for a moment Dash cocked his head to the side. “I honestly can’t tell Lisa. He must just use lotion. Can’t be a woman...can he?” Dash said loudly, not realizing that the comments sounded rather rude. |

There was a faint voice that echoed in her head that she had to stop feeding the cats and tilt her head. Was she going insane? As far as Tsuna knew she was alone in this place, or at least in this part of the hospital since it was still quite early. It could not be that her ears just caught someone was walking and loudly talking to himself. For a moment the redhead feared for her mental state until the voice got louder, prompting the young lady to turn her head to see a familiar guy with pasty skin which was quite obvious from afar. He was blabbering, like the first time she met him back by the stinky lake at the western side of Fiore. Whoa, wait. West Fiore. West side of the hospital. What's with west that they seem to meet whenever she was somewhere in that direction? He was the guy who talked to himself; sometimes he was coherent, most of the times his words seemed to be cryptic. He was an interesting subject, but the two of them never had a chance to exchange words in a decent and private manner. She had yet to ask who Lisa was. As soon as the man sat beside the cross-dresser, she heard him argue with himself once again regarding the lotion she was using. The heiress, who was wearing a white shirt and this time, denim pants with all hair locks tied and pinned in a manner to make it appear that she had a short hair, gave a lippy smile. "No I don't use lotion, not in a long while. I'm too... broke... for a bottle of lotion." The girl broke a small piece of the sandwich and tossed it once more to the cats. She did not think that this man wanted to offend Tsuna, or not just yet ... maybe. "You're the guy who was talking to the grass in a lake with zombies in West Fiore, right?" Dash smiled widely back at the young man when he had smiled at him. “No lotion, but you have such wonderful skin. Lisa says it’s cause you’re a woman….in secret,” Dash said, leaning in close, probably a little too close, as if trying to get a better look at the young man. “That’s not true is it?” Dash asked, leaning away. His eyes had begun to drift between the other man on the bench and the cats making it appear as if he was trying to talk to all of them at the same time. “Zombies? I don’t remember zombies but I do remember some senior citizens that I encountered once….no Marshall I was not talking about you. How do you even know how old you are? Oh, you don’t...so you’re just assuming. Well, that makes you an ass now doesn’t it?” Dash argued with no one in particular as his eyes kept drifting between the young gentleman and the cats. It became apparent all of a sudden that Dash was actually looking at the tuna sandwich that was being thrown to the cats. Without saying anything Dash stood up from the bench and began to take the tuna from the cats and eat it. As one might expect the cats did not welcome this. Many of them scratched and clawed at Dash as he tried to take their tuna. Several even bit him. It got the point that Dash brought out his shining, mirrored shield and used it to block the onslaught of cat attacks. “I realize this is not what you were meant for...wait, what do you mean “Ancestral Weapon Awakening?” Suddenly the shield that Dash held began to shift. It slowly dissolved into a bright purple light which became surrounded by a dark purple cloud filled with tiny blue lights. It then began to shrink and wrap itself around Dash’s finger before solidifying into the form of a small brass thimble which looked rather plain but if one looked closely would see several designs along it. Dash’s eyes widened as he dove for safety from the feline assault. Landing hard in the grass, Dash groaned and took a look at the thimble on his thumb. "Well hello Travis. Looks like I was tricked by Lisa again that bitch. What? Oh, I know it's rude but right now she deserves it. Hell, she always deserves it....yeah I'm talking about you bitch. Oooh, my mother's a what now? A sea cow? I hope your face gets punched in." Mumbling something about revenge Dash rolled over onto his butt. From there he scooted up to a place in the middle of the cats. If he couldn’t steal their food he would earn it instead. Patiently he waited for his piece of tuna. Oddly enough the cats didn’t seem too bothered by Dash's new tactic. That or they were waiting to pounce. -------------- Techniques Used/Items Requipped

"No lotion, but you have such wonderful skin. Lisa says it’s cause you’re a woman….in secret." Tsuna's eyes widened in shock. How did this Lisa-girl know she was a woman pretending to be man? And who was this Lisa? The two of them needed to talk --- she, whoever she was, needed to talk to Tsuna so the latter would know what things she needed to improve, and how the hell the former knew she was in disguise. With what was said, all the heiress could do was to smile and gave a nervous laugh. When the redhead confirmed if he was one of the guys she met back in a wonderfully odorous lake in West Fiore, it seemed he did not have any recollection of which, but pointed out he indeed saw some senior citizens. Senior Citizens? How come old people get into this discussion? This was getting ridiculous. It was too early for a headache, or for craziness, but here she was trying to comprehend his every words. "Maybe it was because the zombies looked old, that's why he thought they were senior citizens?" the heiress could just assume, while holding her tongue trying not to validate it any further as he started making arguments with another ... being ... which she could not see who. And he kept talking. And doing... weird... things... like... stealing the cats' ration, which obviously angered the furry felines that they clawed him. For a moment Tsuna got worried for the pasty-skinned man that she rose from her seat in an attempt to shoo away the kitties, or beg them not to hurt the human. Apparently, the young lad had his own way of dealing with this problem... and ... it was still... unsettling to see. "Ugh, you can just ask me for sandwich than... trying to box out the cats," Tsuna had a worried expression on her face once the man was in between her and the animals. The girl tossed a piece of the food and threw it at the cats once more before taking out another sandwich wrapped with a foil, which was supposed to be her lunch but she decided to just give it to the man. "I'm Ts... Daiki, by the way. You are?" she asked. Edited by Mariko, Jun 24 2016, 03:39 AM.

Dash sat crossed legged among the cats, watching and waiting for a piece of tuna to be thrown his way. He twiddled his thumbs and rocked back and forth still waiting for his chance to get some free tuna. He wasn’t really expecting the young man to pull out a full sandwich and offer it to him. Blinking a bit, Dash took a quick look at the thimble on his thumb and nodded slightly. “You’re right, Travis. Sharing is caring. Unless it’s disease. Then you know….not so much caring.” Taking the sandwich in his hand Dash proceeded to tear it in half, handing back the slightly larger half to the young man on the bench. He then tore the half he still held onto in half as well leaving quarter sized pieces in both his hand. Quickly eating one, Dash then proceeded to rip the other quarter piece into multiple small pieces and begun to toss them to the cats around him. “Drmpf,” Dash tried to say with his mouth full when Daiki asked him his name though his mouth was too full for it properly come out, instead being muffled. Taking another look at the thimble on his thumb Dash nodded to it again. “Mmrfm ffmmr,” he stated though the words sounded more like grunting. Chewing quickly, Dash raised a finger at Daiki. His face contorted into concentration as he somehow struggled to finish the quarter size piece he was eating. Finally, he was able to get it down. Clearing his throat slightly Dash looked up at Daiki and smiled, his many sharp teeth becoming very apparent. “My name is Dash because that is who I am. Wonderful to meet you secret woman Daiki," Dash said energetically, still apparently being convinced by Lisa that Daiki was indeed a secret woman, though whether or not Dash actually believed it was hard to tell. “Hmmm? Oooh right right. Suppose to be a secret. Well, I forgot. I know Viola. Secrets are important.” ---- Current Cooldown Timer

The cats scurried to take as much parts of the sandwich as they could before any of their competitors. a.k.a. themselves, would snatch it from them. Grunting, purring, loud meowing and a frequent cat fight could be heard as the man shared his food with the felines while the young heiress also gave them her share. Once her hand was empty she took her lidded cup and sipped hot coffee while listening to the young man as he answered her question, the aroma of brewed coffee mingled with the freshness of the air. Finally, Tsuna got to know the name of this guy who was adept in talking to non-existent creatures. Dash. It was short and cute, but the heiress could not figure out why someone would name his or her son 'Dash' as it sounded more like a pet name. That wasn't her problem though. Besides, she did not mind calling him Dash all the time as it felt refreshing to the tongue. His name was not the one that she had to put too much effort thinking about. Her utmost concern at this moment was how come one of these invisible people he was talking to figured out with such an ease her secret identity. And people kept on figuring out she was a girl, it might put her life in danger. Varriden had easily pointed out through observation that she was a girl. During her stint with Vento, she accidentally let her true gender show because of the monthly female biological processes. This disguise seemed to be getting inutile. Putting down her cup of coffee beside her as a drop slid down to the base of the cup making a damp circular-shaped moist on the bench, Tsuna smiled at Dash and prepared her next inquiries. She wanted to understand, not only for her own benefit but also so she could interact with him better. Hopefully the man would give her a decent straightforward answer. "If you don't mind me asking, who is... Lisa? The last time we met if you remember, you've picked a fight with that Lisa. How does she look like? Where is she? Why did she say I look like a girl, or that I am a girl in secret?" There was no hint of agitation or panic in her voice. It was calm and composed. |

Dash stared at Daiki while he drank his coffee. “Yes yes. I know I shouldn’t drink caffeine….now that you mention it Gene I have never had coffee. Weird.” Dash tilted his head as if listening to the sky as he spoke. Dash blinked as Daiki asked his question. No one had ever really asked before. What was the best way to answer his questions? Tapping his fingers against his chin Dash contemplated. “Well, you’ve already seen Lisa. This here is Travis,” Dash said, sticking his thumb out so that Daiki could see the brass thimble on his fingers. “They live here,” Dash said tapping his index and middle finger to his head. “Oh thank you Marshall. I stand corrected. They live in my soul but they can speak to me. So many voices.” Dash scooted a bit forwards, getting closer to Daiki. “Lisa said you’re a woman because of your skin. It’s too smooth to be a man’s skin she said. Also she mentioned that you seemed more like someone who was pretending to be a man rather than an actual man. Woman’s intuition is what she called it.” Suddenly and without speaking Dash stood and placed his head up against Daiki’s ear. “Can you hear them? They chit chat all day. Sometimes all night. I can’t slee- quiet Leornard!-p sometimes. They don’t have to sleep because they aren’t people anymore. They are souls. Souls that make up my arsenal. Souls of past family members. That’s all they know. They remember nothing else but those two bits of information. They are weapons and they are family and that is all the knowledge they will ever have.” “Please tell me you can hear them. I’m not crazy. I don’t want to be crazy but their constant chatter, the constant nagging and bickering and yelling. It’ll drive anyone over the edge...I know he can't hear Travis but it's nice to hope." Sadly he removed his head from up against the young man’s ear. His face had lost it’s usual cheerfulness and he seemed much less excited. Shaking his head Dash put on a large smile, the sadness and anguish that had filled his face moments ago gone just as quickly as it had appeared. Looking around Dash seemed to become somewhat confused. “Where are we? Oh right right hospital. Thank you Marshall...Tim are you crying again? God dammit get yourself together.” |

Even if the flow of thoughts were interrupted by side talks to inexistent sentients, Dash had managed to answer the maiden's questions. It seemed that this Lisa merely relied on woman's instinct, partly on the smoothness of her skin. It was slightly flattering considering that the young heiress of the Kushinada house had neglected her well-being since the day she left the mansion. She had no time nor resources to enjoy the treatments, creams and essences only affluent women could afford. With a sweet smile she replied, "That's flattering, but I used to be from a well-of family, maybe that explains the softness of my skin." The lack of any other word was subtly implying that she would not want to confirm Lisa's claim. It could be tantamount to lying, if one would think of it closely. Further, Lisa, Travis, Marshall and all the other people he kept on referring to were inside his head, or rather his soul, and they make up his 'arsenal', which the redhead could only assume as actual weaponry, based on seeing Travis, who was a thimble. Their voices drown his own at times, and he admitted that it was a burden to have them. Tsuna could only deduce one thing: Dash's mental constitution was not the same as everyone else in this world. He could hear internal conversations and react to them, such as one that had ski... schiezo... schizou... schizof... schizoph.... that mental illness. She had read something about it back in school, and now wished paid more attention. And because of this revelation her heart felt like breaking. She knew Dash need not to know the pity she had for him, but right that moment she wished she could lie to him, make him believe she also could hear the voices that plague his mind to make him feel less burdened. However, doing so would be cheating, and possibly breaking trust. She had learned enough from her experience with Vento, a raven-haired scholar working for Neo Cortex, who told her once how badly he felt when she could not make true of her words and ultimately crushing his hopes. It was huge task to gain back his confidence, and she would not want to undergo the same for the second time. With a sad frown, the girl mustered the courage to speak the truth even if it seemed he already had an idea that it would be her answer. "I'm sorry I do not hear them," she said in her modulated faux masculine tone. "But you can share with me what you hear, or whenever it bothers you." There was one thing that had reached her head, thanks to her playful imagination: if all these people were in Dash's head were once living persons, would Dash turn into a soul haunting living person one day? The thought of it sent shivers to her spine and a heavy load in her heart. She was tempted to ask, evident the urge was on her face, but tried to stop herself as perhaps Dash was not aware of it or... it could cause panic and fear. What a sad fate. Dash glanced at Daiki, his face becoming confused somewhat. “Hear who?” It seemed as if he had completely forgotten about the previous conversation even though it was only seconds ago. In truth he feigned ignorance in order to avoid the conversation. It hurt too much to talk about and so he did what he always did when that conversation carried on. He allowed the voices free reign for a moment. Allowed all their chatter to overwhelm his own thoughts. Rubbing his head Dash tried his best to fight back the oncoming headache that occurred during these moments. He also tried his best not to allow the voices to slip into his own. “Darling, you can lie to everyone else but I know. I know,” Dash said to Daiki but his voice didn’t quite sound right. Instead of it’s usual odd mixture of both indifference and hyperactive it instead carried a much more feminine tone, as if he was trying to sound like a woman. This new voice he had chosen carried a large air of arrogance and ego as if he now thought he was better than everyone. “Oh leave the child alone Lisa. Can’t you see you’re making them uncomfortable,” Dash stated again but instead of the womanly voice he had previously he now sounded very much like a caring old man well past his prime and possibly nearing his death. Quickly Dash covered his mouth his hands. He pushed back the thoughts of the others back as best he could. He hated when they were able to use him to speak as rare as an occasion as that was. Though he feared and knew that it would get harder to do so as more and more of them made themselves at home in his soul and mind. “Quiet. All of you. Just be quiet!” He shouted, his voice back to it’s normal tone. Glancing at Daiki Dash smiled his wide smile. “So do you feed cats often?” Dash asked, trying to avoid questions about what just happened. It was never fun to lose control of the voices. Never fun when they were allowed to talk to others. It made him seem crazier. He didn’t need that. He was crazy enough as it was. |
