Alekis watched the cheap shot going for Rusia's head and was about to shout out when the private stepped up awesomely. His skills weren't as good as his old mans but Rusia had some kick assery in his own arsenal of whoop ass. He was forced to turn his attention away from an obviously good fight when his opponents tried to rush him. Thus the tube effect came into play as all three men rushed forward and found themselves tripping over each other in the small space. Stepping back he waited for the first to stumble in range and lashed out with a rounding right hook. The blow slamming the man's head into the wall. A strong front kick sent the man stumbling into his two compatriots.

Taking the opportunity, Alekis rushed forward and leaped. His knees driving under the chin of the robber he just kicked. Following the landing he smashed his palm into the mans nose which burst with blood out the nostrils like a ripe tomato being squeezed. Rolling forward he came up, arm blocking the downward swing from the second more athletic man..who sang soprano when Alekis delivered a bone jarring fist into the mans family jewels. Rolling back he grunted as a kick smashed hard into the side of his head sending him sliding. Lifting his arms he curled up as a rain of blows from the wooden bokken came down over and over against his flesh. Sensing the mans intentions with the violent attack he grabbed the man by the leg and hands lightning up shocked the man which was about as strong as putting your tongue to a battery.

The man yelped and took a step back. Seeing his chance he kicked out hard, the bone he struck at the ankle snapping. Leaping to his feet he grabbed the fellow by the hair. Rage pulsing in his eyes that hesitated the other two. With all his strength he smashed the mans face against the hard wood wall. Repeating the violent act five more times before letting go. The man slumping to the ground a bloody mess. Alekis turned his gaze on the other two. One bleeding badly from the nose, the other clutching his manhood in pain. Stepping forward he rolled his shoulders. The happy go lucky teen replaced by a savage who would do anything to survive as his dad taught him.

As the brawl between Alekis and the three other Howling Wolves members drew to a close, the knight shook his head in admiration at the man's abilities. Unarmed, the man's martial prowess, though unorthodox, was brutally effective, having managed to down a group of people in one go. The mage would probably make a fine addition to any one of more combat oriented guilds within Fiore. Quatro Cerberus perhaps? Maybe Tartaros? Ruminating over the possibilities, Ruslan absent-mindedly continued forward with his pronating wrist lock, before being brought back from his momentary sojourn by the coarsely-worded complaints issued by Mister Gwadi, whose face was contorted in pain. Bringing the young man down to the ground to be further subdued, the private brought his face to bear right in front of the knave's, before smiling. It was not a kind smile.

"Just what the hell are you doing over here?" he chirped in false cheerfulness.

Kuu tried his best to remain silent, staring the knight in the eyes with contempt and hatred. Though, upon exerting more force upon his arm, he began to break.

"Ok! Ok! I'll squeal! But first, tell yer friend over there to back off. God knows what that kinda feller might end up doin'."

Looking back once more at the direction in which Mister Gwadi had glanced at, he perceived the mage who had participated within the foray, completely decimating his opponents. Yet, as they lay on the floor, immobilized and broken, the man appeared to have stepped forward in a rather threatening stance, surely poised to snuff what remaining life was left out of them. This wouldn't do, especially if it were that it was a civilian to have done such troubling matters, even if these people had been directly responsible for the committing of a grievous felony. Worst came to worst, he could very well possibly be accused of murder with malice aforethought.

"Pardon, Mister Alekis, but I highly suggest you desist," projected the private toward his partner. "It would be unfortunate if say, a civilian such as yourself ended up being detained for excessive violence committed against incapacitated people, especially if that led to death. Here, use these instead."

Fishing out a couple of zip ties from the pocket of his trousers, the man tossed a couple toward Alekis, before making a certain motion with his free hand. Instead of merely pounding to bits, perhaps detaining them would be sufficient enough. And with that out of the way, the private continued to press his interrogation of the sole, conscious Howling Wolves member.

"Explain your actions. Now."

Alekks looked down at the broken men on the floor, the hatred and anger in their eyes told him they would come for him again one day. Every instinct his father had pounded into him told him to rid the world of these fools. He was about to when Rusias voice cut through his anger. He stopped and took a few deep breaths, relaxing his mind. Taking the offered zipties he grabbed each man and tied their hands to their feet hog tie style. Making sure they were completely immobile before walking back inside the traveling room where Rusia held his victim. Slumping into the chair he looked up at Rusia and shockingly he had that huge grin on his face that had been present before this whole shin dig.

Bouncing a little in his seat he let out a laugh. "Man Rusia, that was fun. These guys were much stronger than Jax and his gang. Traveling with you is a blast." With that he relaxed back and looked down at Kuu Gawadi. Giving a wide smile as.electricity sparked on his finger tips. "Don't hold back on that information sir. I'd gladly do what Sir Rusia won't to get that intel. So be a good boy and spill." he looked at Rusia and winked to show it was an empty threat. Like Rusia, Alekis did have a sense of honor he had just gotten caught up in all the crazy stuff. Laying back on his chair he took out one of the sandwiches from his bag and like them or not using magic like that drained him.

In a couple of seconds he had demolished the sandwich down to crumbs but left the othe for Rusia. His ears had picked up the rumble of the man's stomach before but had let it go, however after a fight yeh had to eat. Alekis now ignoring the situation or.had forgotten it entirely it was hard to tell, turned and pressed his face back against the glass. "Ohhh a herd of cows. Cool! " His eyes followed the herd as the train flew by. "Hey Rusia, why didn't anyone come to investigate all that noise? I mean we or more I made a hell of a ruckus in the hall but no one not even a conductor came to find out. Does that seem strange to you? " Alekis refered to the more experienced man in this kind of.situation, this being the first time outside his hometown.

"Hmm," the young knight mused. "That's a good question."

Surveying his surroundings, the man soon found Alekis's observation to be relatively correct. So far, with all of the commotion that Kuu and his merry band of 'Howling Wolves' had caused, it appeared that nobody had really reacted at all to the occurrence. There was not a single conductor coming to arrive, nor was there a mass of civilians trying to get away. In fact, upon a further glance throughout the coach, not a single soul other than Ruslan and Alekis was present. How curious. In the belief that Mister Gwadi knew the answer, the private glared at him accusatorially with eyes that betrayed his exasperation at the situation unfolding in front of them. Almost as if Kuu had known what he had been about to say next, he spoke.

"We were jus' here as security for part of some negotiations with the Valbero Family and a client by the name of Mister Heidegger, honest!"

"Hmm...I find the notion of robbers such as yourselves doing work such as 'security' detail hard to believe. Fess up. Why did you try to hold up this place?"

"Erm," Kuu shifted uncomfortably. Judging by his behavior, it was evident that either he was telling a lie, or that the behavior that he had exhibited earlier was clearly in poor taste and not relegated to what he had been tasked with doing. Either way, the man was in the wrong.

"I-I was drunk...and then there was talk of some high-quality Boscan Grass selling during th' meeting. 'cept I didn't have the money to purchase it. And then I had a score to settle with you. So yeah, for some reason that happen'd."

Thanking the chair-master for his divulging of information with a brief pat on his shoulder, the knight restrained him by cuffing him to the armrest of a nearby seat, before standing up. Gratefully accepting the sandwich from Alekis, he unceremoniously shoved the surprisingly flavorful and delicious meal into his mouth, before sighing in satisfaction.

"It's good stuff, this sandwich. Sure beats these silly rations I've got on me any other day of the week."

Pulling out a can of oats and stewed mystery meat from his rucksack, the man waved it around teasingly as if to emphasize just how horrid it tasted. In reality it wasn't that bad--at the end of the day, it was edible--but the taste left a lot to be desired. At least it was free.

Tossing the can of food aside, the knight donned a more serious expression. Whatever was happening on board this train was fishy, that much was true. But whether investigating would be the best thing to do, he knew not. Attempting to come up with a conclusion, only to find none, he left it to his partner to do the decision-making.

"What do you say Alekis? Shall we go find out what the hell happened here, or should we just sit tight?"

Alekis smiled at the compliment to his mothers sandwich. Like most boys he loved his mother and was very protective of her. So a compliment about her cooking though wasn't exactly cooking was something he would put in his next letter to her. Looking at field rations he made a face and shook his head. "Could at least give our soldiers decent food. Sorry mate." turning he looked at the man chained to the seat and watched him for a long moment before his partners question was aimed at him. Stay or go. Both had up's and downs. Plus he had to add in fun factor alongside life factor. Tilting his head he stared out the window at the beautiful scenery.

The smart and responsible choice would be to get word to the guards at the next station that some illegal activity was going down on the train and to sit quietly until they arrived and had back up. Of course once that happened Alekis as Rusia said would be shuffled aside as a simple civilian and that would mean the end of his fun on the battlefield train. But was his fun worth the lives of Rusia and himself? These people could have really strong guards or worst, mages and he wasn't sure he could protect Rusia from some psycho mage. Drumming his fingers on the arm rest he weighed pros and cons. Fun and danger, his life and Rusias. Looking at the soldier he had come to call friend.

He sighed. The choice came down to one thing really. "Rusia..can you contact the next station from here? If you can I think we should scout out the danger and maybe get a couple faces with names. If you can't well then." a huge grin split his face. "We get to have some pummeling fun. So, I didn't see a contact lacryma anywhere here so looks like we gotta scout ahead a little and see what we can find. After we discover if we can get help or not the situation sums itself up. We hammer down if we can't or scout if we can."

"On it," the knight replied. Strolling toward the end of the passenger car, Ruslan glanced around for a communications lachryma, hopefully an emergency line that connected to station authorities within their next stop. After much difficulty, the private eventually laid his hands upon the object of their desire: A deceptively simple communications lachryma, crafted in the form of a telegraph key, concealed by a sliding panel at the very back seat of the coach.

"Found it. I'll see if I can send a message to the destination up ahead. We should probably be arriving there soon. In the meantime, mind if you scout ahead?"

Jerking a thumb toward the other passenger car, in which Kuu and his lackeys had emerged from, the knight glanced back at the device in which he was to operate, before attempting to relay the information that they had picked up across. The only issue lay within the fact that he was still relatively unused to the particular modem of communications; not being very well-versed in relaying information via such an outdated method. Yet, the knight would not be deterred, succeeding in sending a somewhat obfuscating report to the station ahead.

THeS iS ROsLa, a KNiGT. PoSsIbL iLegl oP On TrAin #34, dUe foR Sta--on. ReQ SupPot.

Somewhat satisfied with his less-than-stellar operation of the antediluvian piece of communications technology, Ruslan turned toward Alekis, before clapping him on the back. Moving toward the front to provide cover for the mage from the door of their passenger car to the other coach, the private held his position, before realizing that he had forgotten something of importance.

"Here, take this for now," whispered the knight, offering a guntō from his belt.

"If things take a turn for the worst, feel free to use it. Just be sure to return it to me once you're done though."

Awaiting Alekis's answer, the Seveni hunkered down near his position, keeping a vigilant watch on the happen-stances within the car up ahead. From where he was situated, the private could barely see what was occurring, yet, from what he had gleaned from Kuu, alongside what little he saw, it was safe to assume that these Valberos were serious business. Worst came to worst, it would probably be imperative to just sit tight and wait for reinforcements to arrive.

Alekis leaned against the door watching for anyone as Rusia sent the message for back up. His eyes flicking around as he watched the empty hall. "This is unsettling man, passengers got On with me from Oshibana town. Some of them I know." his right hand balled into a.fist as electricity crackled on his hands. "If they harmed them, if they laid a finger on one of my people I'll kill them." seeing Rusia finish his message he twisted the knob and pushed the door open choosing to stay in the front where his lightning bolt could be utilized better. Looking back he gave a large playful smile and rolled his shoulders. "Let's go exploring Rusia, see what we can find out."

About to step forward he noticed the weapon and took it more to be nice. Sliding it through his belt so the blade rested for a right hand draw. The placement was perfect military style another clue about the boys martial training. "Time to see what this is all about." pushing the door open to the next car he walked forward confidently. Looking around and through the window of each car. He stopped at one and pulled it open. A family was inside but all laid on the floor. Bending down, Alekis checked for a pulse before releasing a pent up breath. "Alive but unconscious. Something or someone put them asleep with magic. I'm curious to find out who."

He stepped back to let Rusia investigate them if he wanted too. Moving down the hall he found two more car rooms with the same effect. An old couple, and two lovers. His fist shook as he looked at the couple. "Mary and Jason, they just got married. They are on their way to.their honeymoon and this happens." lightning sparked up and down his body. Small sparks popping off his body. "Let's find out who did this and when we do..that person is mine! " he looked back at Rusia, anger burning in his normal gentle though manic eyes.

"Cool your jets, friend," the knight stated worriedly. While Ruslan empathized with his partner for having been half-tempted to viciously slaughter the people who had put these people, in which there were some that he appeared to have known personally, ultimately, self-restraint would most likely prevail. From what he had discerned from the messages relayed back and forth across the rudimentary communications transceiver, it appeared that help would no doubt arrive on the next stop. They needed only to hold out...or perhaps subduing these people single-handedly would do.

Ruminating over the prospects of what course of action they should quite possibly take, the young man was interrupted by what appeared to be a group of people conversing, within the car just up ahead. It was more than likely that the ones who had congregated there were the ones who had caused such a strange event to happen in the first place, and were no doubt the ones responsible for putting Alekis's friends...no, acquaintances, to sleep. Glancing over at his newfound friend situated right next to him, the knight decided to concede with the man's request, albeit offering a compromise to ensure that things didn't go out of hand.

"How 'bout this? We'll sit tight for a little while and try to take a gander at what these people are talking about. Then, if it's possible, we strike, you with my sword, and me with this."

Drawing out an item from the leather holster situated on his right thigh, the private slowly brandished his secondary armament: A simple, semi-automatic handgun, chambered for 8x22mm cartridges. The weapon lacked sufficient power to kill people outright, yet still had enough stopping power to knock its targets to the ground. A decent, somewhat non-lethal alternative to using his fists to do the talking, should the situation prove more dangerous than it already was.

With that, Ruslan slid over to the corner of the coach, before taking a peek through a broken window. Hugging the wall in an attempt to stay hidden, the private soon found himself overhearing a conversation, the likes of which appeared to be important. Beckoning for Alekis to come and listen with a slight wave of his hand, he craned his head in the direction of a handful of suit-clad men, gathered in a loose circle around two grey-bearded old gentlemen who appeared to be absorbed in a most peculiar item: A vase. The knight focused not on the object of interest that had situated itself just across from the two, instead ascertaining whether the unnatural bulges in their bodyguards' coats were indeed weapons or not. It was more than likely that it was. But the important subject lay not within the fact that these men were armed--the knights on their way to intercept the train had no doubt armed themselves with that possibility in mind--but within the conversation that the two men appeared to be having, in which, to have gone to such furtive lengths as to cause a great portion of people within the train to fall asleep, suggested that the topic appeared to be of some sort of importance, the kind of important information in which even Cypher, that enigmatic reconnaissance operative, couldn't get his grubby hands on. With that, the private turned his ear to listen in on more of the dialogue that had been taking place between the two old men, hoping that Alekis could probably help him get the rest of what he had missed from the conversation.

"My dear old friend," stated one wizened old gentleman, "I am most grateful for your assistance in the dabbling of this exceedingly curious experiment that we have undertaken."

Bowing slightly within his seat, the man extended his hand forward, gesturing to a rather exquisite looking dish placed just adjacent to the peculiar-looking vase, before continuing.

"A vegetable and tomato gelée rolled with ham and persimmon sauce, alongside a grape compote procured from our family gardens. Please, do go ahead and enjoy."

"I thank you for the offer, Sir Valbero," the other stated curtly. "Although I must say, it is...intriguing, to have called upon a simple man such as myself in order to help you with your...objective."

"Now now, we all know that the no man can perform this task better than the great Doctor Lukas Heidegger, as far as the artificial creation of Macoco goes, that is," the man addressed as Valbero chortled.

Alekis watched Rusia move lower and mimicked him. He stayed behind so they wouldn't be seen and Rusia was already in front. His hand touched the sword at his side and he admitted to himself he felt uncomfortable. He chose fist fighting because the chance of killing was severely lessened. The weapon in his belt had been designed for one purpose: to take life. Alekis looked down at the weapon and decided to only use it as a last resort. The voices and words reached well outside the train car, Alekis wondered if the mens lack of in house voices skill was what lead to his townspeople being put under a spell. He curled his left hand into a fist in anger. Someone so arrogant who thinks they can do whatever they want.

He took a deep breath to keep from rushing into the room and start swinging away. Instead he followed Rusias lead and advice, trying to focus on the calm under the gathering storm of his emotions. Waiting quietly he relaxed enough to be comfortable and alert. Another trick taught to him by his old man. That training really paid off in the long run. Breathing slowly he fought to control the rising anger in his body. All of this for a vase. Illegal activities taken to the extreme for nothing more than ego and vanity. Once more his right hand rested on the handle of the sword but this time he wanted to draw it and smash that stupid vase to shards.

As the man named Mister Valbero continued his theatrics with a melodramatic sweep of his arm, his other friend, the Doctor Heidegger, merely snorted in response. It was evident from the man's complexion that he had felt that it would be better to get the whole occurrence over with. Other, more important matters had occurred in which he needed to take care of. Yet, upon the mere mentioning of the codeword, Macoco, he leaned forward from his seat, eyes betraying a sense of alarm.

"By...Macoco...surely you can't mean...that..."

"Indeed, I mean that," Valbero stated in a more somber tone. "A project based upon one of the many arts that the infamous Seveni Archmagus, Melchitus the Grand Fool, dabbled in."

"That is certainly a very pretty deception, if such is your attempt at making a joke," Heidegger stated worriedly. "And what might your motive be in all of this? At least, if you do not mind me asking. Money? Revenge?"

"Sylvia," he stated wistfully. Rubbing the porcelain vase ever so gently, tears began to trickle from the old gentleman's face, seemingly contorted in anguish. Reaching for a handkerchief from his breast pocket, he slowly settled down what appeared to be spectacles, wide-rimmed and round, before wiping his tears away. Taking a brief sigh, he composed himself once more.

"Which is precisely why I require you, Doctor Heidegger. From what I've been able to discern so far from the scriptures and tomes I have had the luxury of perusing, I have been able to compound and synthesize a particular substance, the likes of which should have certain...particular effects. What you see now within this vase is but a small sample."

"Even if you do manage to bring her back...there's no guarantee that she'll be the sa-"

It was precisely during that moment that a man garbed in a two-piece suit and sunglasses, no doubt one of the bodyguards, promptly raised his palm toward the front of the passenger car, before slowly walking forward. As he did so, multiple shards of ice began to manifest, jagged tips pointed toward a corner of the coach.

"Who's there?"

Brandishing his handgun, the knight disengaged the safety, before pulling back on the breech lock. Taking aim at the leg of the man approaching their location, he peeked back to perceive Alekis, who had appeared calm and quiet, which belied the fact that the man was definitely poised to take action.

"It's gonna be tough, these guys," the man whispered. "They seem a bit more professional than Kuu and his merry band of fools. You ready?"

Ascertaining his fellow comrade's answer, the knight exhaled slowly, all the while slowly depressing the trigger. As he did so, an audible bark resounded across the carriage, as the bodyguard that had approached their vicinity fell to the ground, his knee rendered out of commission. Following up by discharging all of the cartridges that he had left within his weapon, the knight provided a degree of suppressive fire that hampered the other threats within the room, before signaling to his comrade to let loose.
