Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Ansen thought it was odd that a no pets sign stopped the dark eyed man and his friend, but it had and he was left standing there with a door for no good reason. He took another drag, released the door, and followed behind them once again. He was almost losing his patience with this. He needed wanted to ask what created Blair for him and once he had his answer he wouldn’t need to keep tagging around. If it had been up to him he would have gone right into that restaurant, told the owner to choke on something impolite, and then enjoyed a meal that would lead likely cost him three years off his lifespan but damn the greases would be worth it. Instead they were moving down the street once again.

It was almost jarring when Sachio stopped, turned, and then proceeded to comment on what it was Ansen was smoking. Ansen had no issues with passing it over, he was already working on a nice little high and he still had another pocket full of things that could make a man feel like he was floating. He refrained from taking one of those magic little tablets now, wouldn’t do him any good to get so high he forgot why it was he decided to follow the dark eyed young man and his feline companion. Eventually they came upon a small little food cart, Ansen had eaten out of trash cans before and still worried about the sanitation of a food cart. It was almost a strange sight actually; the night had well begun and yet this particular section of road was somewhat uneventful, too far from the bars and clubs, and yet this seemingly gentle old man was still wide awake and eagerly awaiting customers. He would have worried more but after watching a man get rectally violated with a jalapeno earlier it seemed quite impossible to Ansen that anything worse could befall them than that.

Ansen sat and listened to the man flatter his companions until they ordered, he was quick to follow suit. ”Wrap some of that chicken in that tortilla and drop it in the fryer and I’ll be almost as happy as the smiling cat over there.” he nudged his head towards Blair, there wasn’t any need for it given that there was only one cat there but it was habit. After the chef got to work Sachio turned his attention to him and asked a question of his own. The Ace of Fates hadn’t quite been expecting him to turn the tide like he had, Sachio didn’t seem the type to care.

”Well, that’s awfully broad and I’d rather not.” Ansen answered briskly but not in an attempt to be rude. He wasn’t much of a sharer, something he had a feeling Sachio could relate to, but this was an opening. ”But, for the sake of fairness I’ll make a deal. I’ll answer any direct question you ask as long as you answer one of mine. Since I think you and Blair are incredibly interesting that seems fair, or we can flip a coin, but I’ll warn you ahead of time that I tend to have strangely good luck so that may not go so well in your favor.” He’d laid out his offer. He almost hoped Sachio would try his luck with the coin, Ansen wasn’t lying he did have strangely good luck with games of chance; even when he wasn’t cheating.

Hearing Ansen's deal made Sachio sigh. It wasn't that Sachio was opposed to talking about what happened that day in the cave deep under the Sanzibar Desert, but rather he was just wondering why Ansen was so adamant about finding out. "I don't much like leaving things to chance, so I will pass on the coin. You just want to know about Blair's existence, right? I suppose I will tell you the story. Let's eat a bit first." Sachio then reached into his pocket for another cigarette and held it up to the old man as he cooked. After receiving a nod, Sachio lit it and took a long drag. He stroked Blair's back as she lounged on the counter. She looked up at him sheepishly, enjoying the petting but still not feeling completely back to normal. "Oh, could I get some water for Blair? That's the cat's name." The old man smiled and poured water into a small saucer. He placed the water in front of Blair who immediately began lapping it up. Sachio scratched behind her ear as she drank. Even if she was a bundle of trouble, he cared about Blair quite deeply. He was extremely protective of his partner.

The old man expertly prepared the food they ordered in no time at all. The steaming plates of food were placed on the counter for the three of them to enjoy. Sachio helped Blair with the takoyaki before he dealt with his own food. The thing with takoyaki is that it is to be eaten while hot. That would be hard for Blair in this form. Sachio cut one open to release the steam that was trapped inside the golden orbs. He then tore a piece off and blew on it before offering it to his partner. She happily ate it and eagerly awaited the next piece. After he fed her two pieces, Sachio took a bite of his own food. It was amazing. The steak was cooked rare like he enjoyed it and the shrimp was still tender and not overcooked. This old man was quite skilled. "Alright, so you want a story. I am Sachio Hanabe, of the Hanabe clan. Yes, the powerful family of assassins that run the underworld. Don't worry though." He added when he saw the old man's face change to one of concern. "I left them and for a long time I vowed to destroy them. Well, the magic I had was gravity and after a strange time in a castle with my friend Artorius, I realized that it didn't fit my style. I was an assassin. I needed a magic that I could use while I sneak around and do what I do best. I had to go find that magic. I researched and researched something I could do to change that. I came upon something called a Djinn. After a long time of scouring the Sanzibar Desert, I found one. I was given new magic, the poison you've seen albeit this current form is another story..., and lost my old partner in the process since she was part of it. The soul of my old partner was saved by the Djinn because it saw our bond. He created Blair for me using that soul. Due to that, this cat and I had a strong bond instantly, although she had no memories of me. Sort of like running into someone you were close to in a past life. So that is pretty much it. Any other questions?"Sachio then turned back to helping Blair with her food while Ansen processed the information.

Ansen was a little disappointed that he hadn’t got to flip a coin but that disappointment faded when Sachio made it seem like he was willing to give some answers now. Ansen didn’t even mind letting him get some food in him. He watched as the cat was brought some water and Sachio pet it. It must have been somewhat weird having feelings for someone that could turn into a cat. Ansen had to wonder if maybe that was her natural form, if it was that would make it even more strange. The food arrived shortly after that and they went to eating, or at least Ansen and Blair got to eat. He tried not to divert too much attention to the entertaining ritual the two were in the midst of. Sachio would do all of the work and then cool each bite before passing it off to his feline companion, it was cute in a way, disgusting in another.

The Ace of Fates went about eating his own food before Sachio eventually decided to begin his story. Most of it was unimportant, the man’s heritage, his magic, none of that interested Ansen in the slightest, but this Djinn, that was important. For it to have the power to create a a being out of the essence of another was amazing, and exactly the kind of power he needed. If her were going to steal the power to change destiny he was going to need to find a Djinn.

Ansen used this opening to ask one more important question, “So, do you think that your Djinn is still there? I would very much like to find one.” It was probably a foolish question. He didn’t know much about Djinn but he felt like it was unlikely that one would remain in the same place for more than one person to find if they had power like that. Ansen went back to eating his food and waited for his answer, this time it didn’t necessarily matter if he got his answer. ”Also, how long have the two of you been… well you know.” He finished as he gestured towards the small feline on the countertop.

After eating a few more cooled off takoyaki, Blair was full. She drank more of her water and jumped in Sachio's lap to sleep. He knew that she would be up and ready for more to do after a short nap. Tonight she drank really quickly and got sick, but didn't drink enough to put her out for the night. He went back to stroking Blair's back as she slept. Telling the story of her creation always brought back a lot of memories of his old partner. She lived on through this Blair, but he had to admit that he missed her sometimes. She was always the one to talk sense into him. They would always ride their skateboards through cities and caused trouble. They were simpler times. He wondered what she would think of his current magic. Sachio ate more of his food and finished his cigarette. Ansen had more questions, and Sachio supposed that he had more answers for the inquisitive lad. "Still where I found him? I highly doubt it. You can find leads on them, but they are not easy to get to. Finding their location is half of the ordeal. The second half is actually making it to them alive. They reside in towers and caverns. These places are filled with traps and monsters. So just getting to a Djinn isn't really a simple thing." Sachio then wondered also what the Djinn who guided him to his current self would think now that he achieved the power he wanted. He figured that if Ansen wanted to track it down, he would be game to go with him.

Sachio finished his meal and paid the man. All the moving woke Blair up who had been asleep for around fifteen minutes. "Feeling any better?" Sachio asked. Blair hopped on the counter again and looked at Sachio. "I needed more sleep, but I will manage." She said with a yawn. Ansen then asked something that caught both of them off guard. "What are you implying?" She snapped at Ansen. Sachio just looked around and avoided saying anything. He was used to people saying stuff like that, to a certain degree, but it still bothered him each time. "Shes... my partner." Was all he said. Sachio bent down to let Blair jump on his shoulder and he turned around to depart the stall. He was done with that situation. "Now what? Wanna get into some trouble? Ever do some spraypainting?" Sachio asked Ansen, ready for a change of pace.

Ansen felt like it would have been too good to be true had Sachio said he could tell him exactly where the Djinn was and where to find it. To be fair, seeking a power like that should take a bit of effort. He let out an audible sigh and then continued with his meal. The old man behind the counter was still bothering him; he was too damn old to be up this late and move the spryly around the grill. He once again let it go, but he was watching that old man through the corner of his eye and was ready for anything. Ansen pulled his focus back to his odd companions and smiled at Sachio, ”Well thank you for all the information, it was a real help.” Ansen pulled the stolen wallet from the inside of his jacket pocket, he couldn’t remember whose it had been but when he’d taken it it was full, now it was running to it’s last few large bills. ”The least I could do is pay for your meal” Whoever had owned the wallet wore way too much cologne, the smell that wafted from it was enough to knock out an elephant.

When Sachio and Blair finally responded to his other comment he just couldn’t leave it at that. ”Wait, partner? That’s the best you’ve got? Well, I hope you two are at least honest about it in private, that kind of stuff being bottled up could really come between a tight knit duo like yourselves.” While it was almost painful to admit that the cute little catwoman was clearly taken by the dark eyed assassin, it was just that, clear as day. To be fair, Ansen liked them about a foot and a half taller anyway.

Ansen stood from the counter, sure that the at least the cat was giving him a look of some sort but he was happy with not paying her any mind. As long as the assassins didn’t slip a blade between his ribs or do that poison cloud thing he was more than happy to make her a bit uncomfortable. ”Well, now that I am utterly sure we are not rivals, sure, let's go paint something.” He’d tagged before, but for some reason he felt like maybe that wasn’t what Sachio had in mind.

Just Hanging Around

The night was almost reaching the point where the liveliness only went down from here. It was around midnight, and with only a couple more hours till the bars and clubs closed, people were partying as hard as they could until their inevitable crash. Sachio knew the cycle well. Now it was time to have more fun. The type of fun that was at other people's expense. With Ansen left to wonder exactly how this activity was going to go down, Sachio walked down a nearby alley to search for a section of wall that was good enough to use. Due to the nature of Sachio's way of spray painting, he wanted to chose a large enough space of wall. Everyone needed to experience this. After a bit of wandering, Sachio came to a road of shops was completely dead. No one came here after dark since there was no reason to. This left the area completely open to Sachio and Ansen's fun. "Hope you can draw." Sachio said before digging in his pouch for a large marker. It was a literal magic marker, which allowed it to glide over any surface smoothly. He had two of them, since and Blair did this often. "Just draw whatever you want. I'll handle the rest." Sachio said to Ansen, before turning around and searching for the storefront he wanted to vandalize.

"How about that deli?" Blair said as they passed an ancient looking stone brick building. The old red bricks would make a good canvas for their project. Sachio nodded in approval to her idea and thought about what to draw. The first thing that came to mind was the very thing that changed him recently. A Dragon. He really did miss Venurium and would honor her in this drawing. Sachio went to work with large swipes of his marker for her outline, then finished with the minor details. Sachio wasn't a famous artist, but his graffiti skills were good enough to make detailed pictures that got their meaning across. In the end, he was left with a picture of a dragon surrounded by snakes and flowers. Ah, memories. Now that the picture was done, there was only one thing left to do. The marker acted as a barrier on the stone, so when Sachio took a huge breath and then exhaled pitch black and purple poison all over the picture, what was left was the uncovered stone was corroded while leaving the picture section in tact. The way he drew the picture made it so that the dragon was eaten out of the wall, leaving a masterpiece. Venurium would have laughed at the use of the power she granted him. After Ansen was done, he would do the same for his picture.

Maybe it was a good thing that the two of them had decided to ignore most of his poking. He followed them, he wasn’t quite sure why he was sticking around with them now, he had what he wanted. Maybe there was just something about them, he didn’t dwell on it. They all moved down the streets in search of wall, or maybe they were searching for some paint. Ansen was wondering what it was that Sachio had been smoking because even if he found a suitable wall they had no paint to do any actual work on it. He chose not to mention it, best case scenario Sachio would pull some magic can out, worst case scenario they were walking him into a dark alley where they would strip the flesh from his bones and eat it small strips at a time. He looked over his shoulder to make sure the old man who had run the food cart wasn’t following them, he wasn’t. Ansen would keep watching though and if he saw the old guy he would plant a card right in his forehead.

The Ace of Fates was dragged from his own paranoia by Sachio’s apparent declaration of success. He handed Ansen a marker and then moving on to find his own place to leave his mark. Why did he tell him that he’d ’handle the rest’? Ansen wasn’t exactly sure what more the was to this than simply drawing something cheeky on a wall and then running before the authorities caught you. So Ansen stood there, slightly confused, with a marker in his hand and staring at a wall, what a sight he was. He’d given zero thought to what exactly it was he’d draw when they actually found the place to tag, now the most he could think of was a monkey holding a bannana and masterbating at the same time. The thought almost made him laugh out loud, but he refrained.

If finally came to him, he moved his hand over the wall quickly and with some bit of inspired purpose, he was no great artist but quite honestly the marker did most of the work for him. It was a nifty little tool that the assassin had handed him, he wondered why a guy like that had a magic marker on him in the first place. Once again he paused, shook the thoughts from his head, and then continued on with finishing his large card. The interior was all white with black decals and large, curly A’s in the top left and bottom right corners. The cool part was that in the center was that monkey he had pictured in his mind earlier doing things that would make decent people look away. What a masterpiece.

He turned to see Sachio finish his own work of art with a cool poison washing and realized that that must have been what he meant by ”handle the rest” earlier. ”So what is with the dragon?” Ansen didn’t add much more to that. His own drawing made all the sense in the world, it was a giant ace of masturbating monkeys, that seemed a pretty clear statement to him.

A slight chuckle came from Sachio after seeing what Ansen had drawn. It was amusing to say the least. His choice of picture said a lot about the man's humor and personality. Now there was a dragon and a card with a bad monkey burned into this nice deli's brick. If only Sachio could see the face of the owner when he found out what happened to his establishment over night. He turned to face Ansen when he was asked about the dragon he drew. "Well, that is Venurium. She is the dragon that taught me how to use the magic I wield now. I am a Dragon Slayer. It wasn't easy. Not even close, but I managed to learn a lot from Venurium. She was a wonderful teacher and I can't wait till I get the chance to see her again." Sachio said, with a big smile on his face. Blair however was not so happy about it. "You talk about her all the time. I am getting sick of it." Sachio looked at his partner and frowned. "I went through a lot with her. She made me who I am today." "I don't care. You should have stayed with her then." "Blair..." Sachio reached up and pet Blair on the head who just turned away from him while he did it. She still enjoyed it, but she would continue to act mad at him. Poor jealous cat.

"It is getting awfully late. How about one more bit of excitement for the night. A bit of 'you show me yours, I'll show you mine'? You asked about the dragon, so how about you experience it first hand?" Sachio said to Ansen. His face showed the chaos he was hiding behind the calm. "I want you to use your magic on me. I don't care what it is. Just do it. Don't hold back either. Don't worry, I will be safe. You will be to, since I will keep the results down to avoid damaging you." Sachio sounded extremely confident, but that was because he was. He wanted the man to throw or shoot whatever he had at him and as much as he wanted. White he waited, Sachio drew out his sword and let is rest by his side in his right hand. He was ready for whatever Ansen threw at him. Even Blair was staying where she was because she knew what was about to happen. She was not worried in the slightest. She enjoyed seeing stuff like this happen anyway.

So he was a dragon slayer, Ansen had heard about those guys but he’d never met one in person. Maybe that was why he had the weird black eyes. None of that was nearly as interesting as the little lovers spat that was going on between the two of them. Ansen was almost at a point now, given the time of night, where he was willing to make a pass at the feline female and use her clear jealousy to try and pry the door open; then he got to worrying that he’d end up dragon chow and thought better of it. Either way he was sure that those two were madly in love anyway or some weird thing like that and he wouldn’t stand a chance. And if he slept with a cat that turned into a woman did that make him a pervert? He made a mental note to ask someone about that sometime.

After their little lovers spat came to an end Sachio had to go and just ruin the night by asking to see his. He seriously gave some thought to dropping trow and pulling out his… well you get the idea there, but the memory of the jalapeno in the anus was still far too fresh in his mind to risk exposing anything delicate with Sachio around. ”I’m just a simple card’s guy, sure I can do some weird magic tricks but I’m sure it’s nothing even remotely as cool as being a Dragon Slayer.” He was almost being one hundred percent honest. ”But hey, I’ll humor you.”

A mess of cards erupted around Ansen while he reached through and collected four sharpened cards as they fell nearly into his reach from the Fate. He when the cards surrounding him subsided into what appeared to be thin air Ansen stood there with two cards in each hand pinched between scarred fingertips. He really didn’t want this to get serious, he was going to play along but he already had a feeling that he wasn’t anywhere near the assassins level. He shifted the cards in his right hand so one was safely pinched between his pinky and palm and the other was being gently juggled between his middle and pointer fingers. Then in one swift upwards motion of his arm he sent the card flying towards Sachio. The projectile would fly relatively safely over the man’s left shoulder.

”Shit, let me try again, it’s been a while.” Ansen was a good liar. He had missed on purpose. At this range he was a pretty good shot but that first shot was simply meant to lower expectations, the Ace of Fates thrived on low expectations. ”Just like, one more try”

The Dragon Slayer waited patiently for Ansen to show him what he had. When a flurry of cards showed up, Sachio wasn't surprised. "Looks like I had a good reason to be suspicious of you, Ace." Sachio said with a smirk. Of course this guy would be good at cards. He made the damn things and carried them. The only way to lose was on purpose. Still, it was interesting to watch. When the cards came towards him, he waited for them to get close before acting. However, as they approached him, he noticed their flight path was off. They sailed past Sachio harmlessly which caused him to raise his eyebrow. Judging from Ansen's reaction, it was probably on purpose. Apparently this man had something up his sleeve. Probably literally as well. "Ah, well I will save you the trouble. Here." Sachio said, before turning around to face the open street. Magic began gathering quickly in the space in front of him and swirled into a tornado almost instantly. It reached up past the buildings and could surely be seen from streets away. It was huge and spun violently, so the purple and black tornado was kind of hard to miss. "That's just a taste of it." Sachio said with a smirk. "We should also probably get out of here before people come looking for the source. It's late anyways." Sachio ended the spell, finding the current show to be enough.

Sachio and Blair said their farewells to Ansen before heading back to their home in Dandelion. Artorius's manor was quiet, save for the cats going about their business. "Interesting night right?" Sachio asked Blair who was close to passing out again. "I suppose." She said sleepily. The bed was calling to both of them. They would be answering that call soon. Sachio found Ansen to be an interesting person and wondered if their paths would cross again. If so, he figured it would have to do with the Djinn Sachio told him about. He thought about that encounter again and remembered that it was the person who set him on the path to becoming a Dragon Slayer. He began thinking more about that. What if that Djinn could allow him to find Venurium again... What if Sachio could learn more? This was something he would love to look into, and would end up doing it one day, even if it was just him searching for the Djinn.

With that, the Dragon and the Cat went to bed for the night.
