Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Sarcasm. Because beating the shit out of people is illegal.

Sol raised his hands in a gesture of mock defeat as Kaede considered what he'd said and, as best he could tell, remained totally unconvinced by it, as evidenced by the skepticism that came out of her mouth thicker than the consistency of the enormous mouthful of waffles and syrup that looked like it could conceivably have given her sudden onset diabetes and he sighed, though it was neither a frustrated or defeated sound. If anything it was amusement or some derivative of.

"Well I'll take some comfort in the fact that you like my analogies I suppose, though maybe I'm not the one who thinks highly of themselves regarding... certain activities", he chuckled softly and took another sip of his coffee and raised his eyebrows over his cup at her question, or perhaps it was a challenge, regarding his qualification to be his 'preferred brand of whiskey'. It was a fair question at face value, even if it showed that she at least partway misread either his intentions or the way that sex worked. He wasn't looking for a monopoly, he just wanted to unlock the door... and leave it open. But still, it was a fair question.

Waiting until Kaede had finished her enormous mouthful of waffles, because what he was about to could well cause her to suffocate. Moving her half finished plate of food to one side, he cut off her protest with a raised finger and a grin a mile wide. "If you give me five minutes and your preferred hand I'll show you why I could be the best whiskey you ever tasted". With that said, he placed his right arm on the table with his palm up and waited expectantly for her to do what he asked. Of course, she would likely be hesitant, perhaps even suspicious, but what could Sol actually do to her with one hand across a table?

Eventually, she seemed to decide that she'd play along with whatever game he was playing and placed her right hand on top of his own palm and with his left hand, he began to do what could only be described as gently poking her palm seemingly at random. This went on for almost thirty seconds of the 5 minutes he'd requested and so far absolutely fuck all was happening. Then he gently picked up her hand so that he held it tenderly in both of his and began to massage her palm with his thumbs.

"The truth is that I do think quite highly of myself", he said as he continued his ineffectual massage. "People often say that humility is an attractive trait, but the reality is that most of the people who say that don't have anything to be arrogant about", he chuckled and gradually began to increase the pressure he was applying with his thumbs. "I come from a wealthy family, I'm easy on the eye, I can hold an intelligent conversation and I know how to handle myself. I tried being humble once... I was accused of false modesty. But when I owned my strengths, I was respected and sometimes even idolised by those around me"

As he spoke, Sol's initially random thumb pressing began to take on a sense of purposeful coordination and maybe it was just her imagination, but Kaede would begin to feel... different. It would begin somewhere deep inside of her, an inexplicable sensation of warmth that could just as easily have been the first sign of indigestion after stuffing so much food into her stomach so quickly. As Sol continued to work, the feeling would spread outward in slow waves from her torso to the tips of her fingers and toes and each time a wave came, she would feel warmer and her skin would begin to tingle pleasantly. Three minutes had passed by now, though Kaede may not have been keeping track any more and Sol could see the first signs that his

"We all possess the ability to make ourselves feel good", he said softly, "but more often than not, it's what other people do for us that make us feel... great", he breathed the last with such quiet intensity that Kaede would have had to lean in in order to hear him properly. As these words left his lips, the steady tingling sensation building inside of Kaede would take on a startling transformation that would at once be intimately familiar and shockingly alien. But instead of the sensation peaking and dissipating like she might have been expecting, it simply continued to build... and build until it was like a second force roaring inside her besides her magic and her attention was completely focused inwardly and on the point of contact between herself and Sol.

Finally, just as the sensation coursing through her like a rising tidal wave reached the point where it would finally break... Sol took his hand away and almost immediately Kaede would be left with nothing but the memory of what she'd been feeling moments ago. It was a cruel thing to do in one sense, but if he'd taken her any further then she would have gotten far more attention than the handful of curious glances that those nearby were giving her now. "Are you going to finish, or can I have some?" Sol finally broke the silence that lingered after what had just happened. Then he pointed to the pancakes, as if there was anything else he could have been referring to. He didn't boast, brag or even tease her about what had just conspired. He'd just given her a practical example of how sometimes, two hands were better than one.

Kaede swallowed down the waffles and look askance at her companion as he asked for her hand. She wasn't sure what the hell that would do. But she was kind enough to wash the syrup off before she, very slowly, acquiesced to his request. It was just like offering your hand to a snake she thought, unsure if it was going to bite or not. But usually snakes bit, so she was hoping this one was a pet, though even those could be deadly if one were being honest. He poked at her palm, and there was a look of utter confusion on her face for a moment. She quirked a brow, thinking that his current aimless poking wasn't helping her want to try this brand of whiskey. It was just her hand after all. There wasn't much he could do to make that feel nice. It did feel weird though, having some strange guy poke at her palm.

Then he started rubbing it with his thumbs. Nothing was happening. Nothing but him talking a lot and her continuing to make a face which somehow encompassed disbelief and disappointment at the same time. She had expected that he would do something at least mildly impressive. But so far, the most impressive part was how much he was talking. Kaede sighed and rested her cheek on the left hand. She was staring at Sol with the look of someone who had been let way down. As he pressed a little harder, she only noted that now her hand actually was starting to get sore from the pushing. It was silly in the extreme really. And she had no idea why he had ever thought that this would change her opinion of the matter at hand. "So far you're only proving that you're really bad at massages, and making my hand hu--" She made a face mid sentence. "--rt."

Her tummy was acting strange. Now she could feel something like maybe indigestion. Possibly heartburn. She always ate way too fast. It was bound to catch up with her eventually. But the longer he played around with her hand, the more the feeling spread. It was super weird. And she was feeling ... Warm. Not in an unpleasant way. Maybe it was just a fever? She hoped it was just a fever. But then again, it was too nice for that. It was like...When she... "Oh..." was all she said on the matter. She wasn't exactly capable of saying much else as a blush painted her cheeks and her fingers curled up involuntarily, as did her toes. She had no idea how long he'd been holding her hand, but she was getting the feeling it was his fault this was happening.

It just got worse unfortunately. And she had a moment when she had to lean in close to hear what he was trying to say. Not that it registered anyway. She was biting her lip against making any unbecoming noises in public, and it was very plain to the man holding her hand that he had her right where he wanted her. She didn't say a damn word, couldn't, in fact, as it got worse and worse until she thought she might die if it didn't stop. Of course, it did stop. But it left her with a sort of hollow feeling, and she just sat there for a moment, perfectly still, as she tried to calm herself down. It took a moment to register what Sol had said to her but when it did, she pushed the waffles his way. "Not all that hungry all of a sudden. Go ahead." She still looked a little dazed, and her lips were in a soft pouting frown.

She didn't even want to touch her coffee. She slipper her hands below the table, twining one with the other, and rubbing the right one softly. It still tingled. Most of her skin did. But she was annoyed for a reason she could only sort of place. Her eyebrows joined her mouth in a sort of turning down of frown. If he could do that with just holding her hand...A voice whispered. But she shook it away. No sense in getting into that mess. He was obviously way too experienced in this sort of thing. Plus he was mean, doing ... that. And then. Not. The other thing. Who wanted to take a lover like that? Not her. That was for sure. She had to clear her throat a couple times before she could speak at all. "Uhm. That was. Interesting. Who taught you that trick?" She made herself sip her coffee, which was now gross and cold and not even worthy of her time in her opinion. He'd ruined a perfectly good breakfast for her.

"And anyway," She tried and failed to look more composed. She was disheveled without ever having done a damn thing to get that way. Her nerve endings were still firing and she was just a little shaky. annoying in the extreme. "You don't seem like the type who would want more than a night of a girl's attention. I'm not exactly interested in that sort of nonsense." She pursed her lips.

The boy would never win. He was either not good enough, or too good. Either way, this one was a difficult customer to please.

When Sol thought about it, the pleasure he took from sex wasn't purely physical. Though when it came to what else he took pleasure in, rather than the typical answer of finding some deeper emotional connecting with the person, if he was honest his motives were far less pure and his desires several steps more devious. In a way, it came down to power. Not power in the sense that he was stronger than them or anything dastardly like that. He was good at what he did- Kaede could now attest to that even if she didn't necessarily want to- but he'd become as good as he was in part because there was something unerringly empowering about making the other party feel so good that they melted at even the promise of a touch. He supposed the power was psychological rather than physical or even emotional. Maybe that was wrong, but he seldom received complaints.

The bottom line was that even if Kaede never succumbed to his charms, she'd been at his mercy in a sense and in this case that was two thirds of what he was after to begin with... even if the final third was protesting quite loudly at being neglected, but there were plenty of fish in the sea so to speak. But for all this introspection, all Kaede would see- if she was even in any state to pay attention to him or anything else- was that he swiftly polished off her waffles and although they were a little too sweet for his palette, he was hungry enough to eat them anyway and wash the sweetness down with the last of his lukewarm coffee.

"I've been telling myself for years that I should come up with a fantastic tale for that little trick. I've also been telling myself for years that I should probably give it a name too, but the truth is that I came up with it myself through trial and error", he admitted with a rueful shake of his head. "As a boy I was taught about the various muscles in the human body, what they did and how they were connected... I also dabbled in acupuncture, but I suppose the relevant details are that once I understood all of that, I was able to put that knowledge to use in other ways. Sure, I can do what I just did to you, but believe it or not when I discovered how to do that it was just a happy accident", he laughed.

In truth, he'd simply been trying to find the best, most efficient ways of using these techniques to prevent, rather than to treat, muscle related injuries on the battlefield. He'd met with some success, but ultimately he only had two hands whilst there were hundreds, sometimes thousands of soldiers in a regiment and he couldn't tend to them all so he'd given it up as a fruitless venture... the parlor trick he'd just demonstrated was just a memento of the time and effort he'd put in during that part of his life. A time when he'd been so concerned with getting the best results, no, better than the best that he'd been blind to the horror of it all.

But on to the crux of the matter... Sol's intentions. His less than honorable intentions to be more precise. Now that the issue had been raised, he could have probably told her what she wanted to hear to keep the game going and eventually get under her defenses and get his way. Maybe it would take weeks, maybe a month, but he was confident that with enough time, effort and forced sincerity he could achieve the impossible. But now faced with the choice of following that path or not, he found the decision surprisingly simple and not in the way he might have expected.

"It's true that I'm not looking for commitment, after all I'm just a tourist", he admitted and for once he wasn't laughing, grinning or winking. He was just speaking plainly and without airs. "Some would say that makes me the enemy of women and sometimes they would probably be right. I suppose in reality when it comes to you I'd be looking for a casual arrangement with no strings attached for as long as I'm here and if you're not comfortable with that then I can respect that... probably... most of the time. I was born with a weakness for pretty girls with attitude, try not to hold it against me", he sighed dramatically and placed the back of his hand over his eyes in a show of mock despair. "But I suppose if the offer for free drinks still stands then maybe we could just hold hands from time to time", he added with a devilish grin.

Honesty without tact is cruelty.

Kaede sipped at her cold coffee, sighing. At least he was being nice enough to be honest about all of it she supposed. She nearly spit out her coffee when he offered occasional hand holding. But then genuine curiosity overtook her on part of the subject. "Does that work on you as well? Like, if I learned how to do that would it make you... You know?" She flushed asking the question, but it was an honest one. In her head, her summons were watching her waver and both were worried beyond measure. This was not a good idea. This was not something she should even be considering, or be curious about. Still, she waited, round eyed, for the answer. She might be interested in learning the technique, she conceded, even if she wasn't interested in anything else. And she wasn't interested in anything else. Right? With just your hand...Said the little voice, and this time Kaede was more inclined to listen to it.

Behind her, people were already whispering. It seemed they had noted how her hair had to be smoothed down, and how her clothes were rumpled. The room had suddenly become more or less small for her, and she was still a little feverish. Lots of people filtered in. It must be time for regulars to come for breakfast. Now Kaede had to lean across the table so that she could speak to Sol conspiratorially. "I mean, if it did, could you teach me that? Like. Only that though." She wrinkled her nose up at him in an attempt to be cute but it just smushed her face. Maybe he wasn't interested now anyway, she thought belatedly. Maybe she had said no one too many times, and it wasn't seen as demure negativity so much as her being a cold person. Also he'd almost made her.... Do that one thing she liked. So maybe he just wanted her to play with. He had said "casual relationship." Could she handle that?

Who the hell was she kidding. Of course she could handle that. She was basically a nomad for pete's sake. She had no need of someone interested in the long term crap. Plus if he was only in it for a little fun, he'd be more careful. About important stuff. She nodded once to herself, the decision being made without her actually consciously making it. She leaned back a little and sighed, finishing her now cold coffee. She had never been a seductress before. She had only been the seduced. She supposed that meant that she would have to put some effort into this. Pursing her lips in what she hoped was a decent attempt at a pout, but turned out to make her look more like a fish, she then smiled at Sol. "I mean if you're really interested, I suppose I could..." She needed contact before she finished the sentence.

She reached across the table to caress his arm and ended up only managing to scratch him a little, and knocking over the bottle of syrup in the middle of the table in the process. She grabbed her jacket, trying to stem the flow of warm sticky stuff on the table and managed to ruin that too. Now she was just embarrassed, as her jacket got stuck to the table, and worse, when she sat down, she realized it had managed to make its way into the chair she had been sitting in so she let out a yelp that was part worry, and part surprise, and part "omg my pants are going to get stuck!"

The waitress came to clean it all up, while a few of the patrons laughed at her. It was about now that a Knight from earlier came walking through the door. Miss? Kaede was so upset by her sudden failure that she screamed at the man. "WHAT?" He seemed terribly pale, and she assumed that wasn't from her screaming at him. So she asked again, in a more moderated tone. "I uh...That is... We received a message from Miss White. We will be leaving the inn immediately. She uh. She said for you to go home and enjoy your work, and your day off. Thank you for your time." Kaede smiled and clapped her hands together like a small child, utterly forgetting as she stood up again that syrup was all over bum, and hearing a very faint ripping sound of fabric as the syrup had decided to keep a small portion of them in it's grip.

"She's so awesome. Thank you. Message received. You guys have a nice day!" Kaede grabbed her things, throwing some money down on the table. She needed to go make sure they hadn't ruined the entire inn. Snow was a quick worker, she'd give her that. And how she managed these things was really beyond the girl. She turned back to Sol at the last moment, completely having forgotten what it was she had been talking to him about, or her near commitment to be his part-time-chick. "Coming?"

Sol was actually quite baffled by the question Kaede posed to him. Would it work on him? Well, he supposed that it should, in theory anyway. He'd only ever used the trick on women and never even considered testing it on men... for obvious reasons. Thinking on what he knew of how the trick worked, his best guess was that the same result could be achieved, but more likely than not it would require a different method focusing on different muscle groups... he stopped himself in the midst of his theory crafting with a quick shake of his head. "I've never tried it on myself, needs two hands", he grinned and wiggled his fingers for emphasis. "In theory, the simple answer is that the same effect should be possible on everyone with the same basic principles", he added.

She seemed to be doing a lot of thinking across the table from him and Sol could only guess at what was going on behind those grey-blue eyes of hers and given that she's somehow acquired what could colloquially referred to as 'sex hair', it gave her a certain sexiness that was drawing the eyes of almost every man in the room- even those who were there with fairer company- but when she finally leaned in and said what was on her mind, Sol nearly choked on his surprise.

"You want me to teach you how to do what I just did to you? Here i was starting to think you were on the right side of innocent. I didn't give you nearly enough credit", he laughed before scratching his chin in contemplation. If he taught her to do it, it would take time and he would have ample chances to perform the technique on her... for teaching purposes of course... and that could mean more opportunity to convince and cajole her into giving in to his advances... but before he could give voice to what would be his agreement to the request, something strange happened.

Kaede tried to flirt with him.

Or rather, that's what he thought she was trying to do but it was really anybodies guess as she made a face at him that was halfway between a sneer and a drowning fish and tried to lean closer to him but ended up tripping- whilst sitting down, which was impressive in and of itself- and generally caused enough of a commotion that half of the room had noticed and were chuckling with varying degrees of subtlety. It was unfortunate, then, that the Knight who had essentially evicted her from the inn earlier chose that moment to arrive on the scene and promptly got his head bitten off by a now exceedingly grumpy Kaede.

With the knights message delivered, Sol couldn't be sure, but he was fairly certain that the exchange he'd just witnessed shouldn't have happened, but it was happening anyway and the woman known as Snow had to be the root cause for this discrepancy. "Yeah, I'm coming..." Sol said distractedly as he watched her get up and turn around... and spotted the syrup stain on her pants and grinned evilly as he grabbed a napkin from the table as he followed her out the door... and slapped the napkin firmly on the offending spot. "You have a little something there", he whispered in her ear before giving a little squeeze and taking his hand away- leaving the napkin stuck in place for her to attend to.

"I don't know about you, but I could go for a drink... good thing that your boss has the knights whipped in this city, he said as they stepped out into the street and the afternoon sun. They'd spent more time in the coffee shop than either of them had expected and as they returned to the inn, which Kaede would need to unlock because the Knights had locked it when they left, they would find that the interior was in a certain amount of disarray thanks to the Knight's not overly careful search. Nothing important was broken... but even Sol could tell that almost nothing was in its intended place. "Well... alcohol just seems like a better and better option", he remarked hopefully.

Honesty without tact is cruelty.

Kaede had fairly danced out of the coffee shop, more than ready to go check on her home. She hated the thoughts of people touching everything, which she kept lovingly in its place. As she was walking she felt a firm slap on her rear, and then a squeeze. Sol whispered in her ear and she turned a frighteningly bright shade of red again. "Hey! It's just some syrup. And yeah...Not whipped. They just know not to get on her bad side if they don't have good reason. Its kinda how she works." Kaede didn't mention that her friend had the ability to kill the shit out of someone who crossed her, but she knew. Everyone knew in Poinsettia, in the way that people knew fire was burny, and rain was wet. You just didn't try to make a case against the inn mistress if she wasn't there to defend herself.

Kaede saw the Captain who had seemed so kind walking away from the Lavender Dog as they went that way. It looked like he was more than a little pissed off. Oh well, Kaede thought. It would be fine. He would just have to get over it. Once she unlocked the door to the inn though, she found herself more than a little peeved. Everything was scattered. Liquor bottles were knocked over, or set in odd places. The food had been moved out of the fridge, and sat warming on the bar. Chairs were turned over, floorboards pried up. She raced upstairs past Sol and checked the guest rooms. All of them were turned over in a similar fashion. Kaede screamed once, a quick loud vocalization of her overall frustration. She walked back down the hall and ran her fingers along the hidden door of the hidden room. A quick push popped it open, and of them all it was the only one left undisturbed.

She walked back downstairs more slowly, her eyes saying quite plainly that she was disappointed. She locked the door behind her and began wordlessly to set everything to rights, starting with the food. Luckily a lot of it was salvageable. But some of it would have to be thrown out immediately. "Idiots found everything they weren't looking for. Ren!" The summon appeared as if out of thin air, and Kaede pointed to the absolute wreck of the Inn. She didn't need to articulate to him what she wanted him to do. The summon resumed the work she had left undone. "I'm going to shower. And change out of these sticky clothes. I'll be back to help before long. Until then, Ren do what you can. Sol. Do-- Whatever." Kaede was beyond the whole hand trick thing. She was annoyed that she had been put in a position in which she would have to clean the entirety of the inn just because of some assholes. In her head, she talked to Yuudai. "Next time, just kill them. It's much simpler." A long pause as she made it to her room and began to undress.

"Didn't you just tell that handsy fellow that all life was sacred?" There was a smirk in the tone. "Didn't I just tell you to throw them out?" She was still pissed. She hadn't forgotten how he had disregarded orders willy nilly, and he knew it. He shut up abruptly. After a while she felt the warm water of the shower hit her, and she stepped into it, leaving her clothing all over the floor. She hadn't even bothered to properly lock the door.

Sol, for his part, had the good sense to stay by the door as Kaede went about inspecting the level of damage that had been done to the establishment she'd been left in charge of by the knights who had... "searched" the place. The reality that Sol would have described would have used words like 'ransacked' or 'detonated a bomb', but neither he nor the summons that Kaede called forth were about to broach the subject out loud partly because it was painfully obvious, but mostly because nobody wanted to earn Kaede's wrath on behalf of the ones who had actually done this.

At any rate, while Sol was pleased to be on whatever level between guest and freeloader that didn't require him to partake in any of the tedious task of cleaning up the place- unlike her summons, who did as they were instructed without complaint or any sign of distaste for that matter. It was remarkable, Sol thought, how these entities seemed to be so human and yet the way they were regarded- glorified slaves to put it bluntly- was completely overlooked just like magic because... well... it was magic. As best Sol could tell, Kaede could have them do anything she wished and they would simply obey. He wondered what such a system could be called other than slavery, but beyond his own idle musings he wasn't about to broach the subject with either of the men who were now studiously going about their task nor Kaede or anyone else for that matter. It didn't concern him after all.

Turning his thoughts elsewhere, Sol found they soon settled on the declaration of war and he sighed. It was like a shadow that doggedly pursued him everywhere he went. It was ironic though, how he'd been the one to seek it out when he was barely more than a boy and now here he was complaining about what that pursuit had brought him. What it had taken away from him. What he'd taken away from countless souls either through action or inaction. Was he not allowed to simply walk away?

A sudden knock at the door broke him out of his reverie and he turned towards the door but made no move to open it. He was, after all, off the hook when it came to participating in any form of work insofar as he was interpreting Kaede's parting words. So it was Ren who put down whatever he'd been carrying and approached the door and put on a winning smile before opening the door. "I'm sorry sir, but we're closed at the moment", the man... summon... thing said to whoever was beyond the threshold, Sol couldn't see from where he stood but the gruff reply sent a chill down his spine. "I'm not here for lodgings, we're checking all Inns, Taverns, Hotels and Halfway Houses for Boscan citizens. I have a warrant here to search the premises and check the identities of everyone inside for proof of citizenship".

Whatever Ren said in response to that, Sol didn't hear as he backed slowly away from the door and towards the stairs before launching up them three at a time to wherever Kaede had gone. Of course he had all of his papers on him, but they marked him as a Boscan citizen and had no delusions about why they'd be rounding up Boscans after declaring war. They'd be detained for the duration in the best case scenario or used as political leverage or simply executed in the worst case scenario. Whatever the case, Sol wasn't keen on any of them and he needed Kaede's help if he wanted to remain a free man.

Bursting into the bathroom without a second thought upon seeing the door open and thus assuming she must have been finished and thus at least partway clothed, Sol got quite a shock when he found himself face to face with Kaede just as he'd intended... except the water was still running and she was absolutely not clothed in any way shape or form. A moment of silence followed as Sol's eyes soaked in the sight of her naked body and the water streaming across it, her eyes wide with shock and cheeks flushed with the heat of the hot water and her wet hair plastered against her neck where it hung down. "I um... we, that is... have a problem... downstairs", he said stupidly as his eyes refused to avert themselves from the glorious sight before him. Suddenly the threat of imprisonment or execution seemed rather more trifling than it had a minute ago.

Who could say why that was?

Kaede stood under the spray of the shower letting the hot water relax her muscles. It was one of those fancy ones with glass doors, because Snow had good taste in all things comfortable. Her inn, Kaede reflected, was a mess. It kind of hurt her soul. Sure it was just a job, and most people would look at it that way. But not her. She saw it as them taking a personal vendetta out against her home, and making her look bad. Not a good combination for anyone ever. It was more likely to lead to death than anyone might have guessed.

Kaede sighed and finished washing her hair and her body. Her new clean clothing was laid out on the basin beside the shower itself. All was going well, and Kaede was not only beginning to think that everything would be just fine, with a little work of course, when she sensed something from Ren. It wasn't as if they were telepathically linked really. Just that feelings of a strong nature from either of her summons flew back to her, causing her nerve endings to tingle. It never told her initially if it was good or bad, just that it was happening. She sighed and tried to ignore it. And it was working just fine. Until the door burst open and there stood Sol, staring at her naked self while she tried every way in the world to hide her assets using only her two hands. She ended up in a very strange position with both hands over her breasts and her leg half up and side on toward the intruder.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She heard his words through the shower and sighed again. What the fuck was wrong today. Could something just go right? ANYTHING?! It was more than a little unnerving and annoying that the universe had decided to toy with her. "What sort of problem?" She said it in a voice which was completely calm, despite still holding the awkward position and not having the ability to move even enough to turn off the shower.

A few seconds later Ren was standing between Sol and Kaede, while she shut off the shower and wrapped a towel around herself. He disappeared again just as quickly, back to whatever task he had been taking care of. She could feel the sudden rush of feeling again from both him and Yuudai and it made her a little light headed. Stepping out of the shower, she glared a little at Sol. "You could try knocking you know. Now. What's going on? And make it quick. The boys are getting worried I think, but I'm not sure if that's your fault or not."

Sarcasm. Because beating the shit out of people is illegal.

Sol hesitated upon being asked about the nature of the problem that had brought him so intrusively into Kaede's shower time. It was instinct rather than logic that made him pause, instinct born of almost a decade of experience in the Boscan army where he'd learned that secrets could cut as surely as a sword and bite you in the ass as thoroughly as a flanking cavalry charge. But there was nothing to be gained by skirting around the issue now, that was why he'd come up in the first place- though the view he'd been treated to could serve as a nice retrospective reason. In short, he had to tell her and he needed to do it before the officer downstairs grew impatient and came looking for the proprietor and any guests- which consisted of Sol and only Sol since the summons didn't count.

"Remember how I said I'd just arrived from abroad?" He said at long last. "Well I didn't say where exactly I was from and there's an officer downstairs looking to do a search of the premises for any Boscan citizens, which is perfectly understandable what with the whole declaration of war now being a thing". He took a deep breath and scratched the side of his temple awkwardly as he provided the final clarification that could leave no room for misunderstanding. "It's perfectly understandable, but I'm a Boscan citizen and I don't think they want to take me down to the local station for a friendly chat before sending me on my way.

Glancing surreptitiously over his shoulder towards the top of the stairs, it was clear that Sol was uncomfortable, perhaps even nervous. For once he'd done nothing wrong... well... besides killing a man that nobody would miss... but would be facing persecution regardless if he didn't find some way of keeping his citizenship a secret. In truth he didn't even know if Kaede could help him, but after seeing how the knights who had searched the place earlier had been so nervous, he assumed- or hoped rather- that Kaede had connections. Connections that could get him out of here without inciting a manhunt.

"In short, I need you to cover for me somehow with the lovely gentleman downstairs. If they're doing this everywhere then it doesn't matter where I go, eventually someone is going to ask to see my papers and obviously I can't show them and obviously that won't be suspicious at all..." He scratched unconsciously at the side of his temple again, averting his gaze as the most embarrassing part of all came. "Please?" Downstairs, the sounds of footsteps coming up the stairs could be heard. two sets, one belonging to Ren and the other to the Knight. There was no time for further discussion, either Kaede would try to help him or he'd have to fight his way out and that option ended very badly for everyone involved- Sol especially.

Honesty without tact is cruelty.

Sol was nervous. A new and different side of him for sure. She was used to him being a confident even cocky human being. Even though she had only known him for around 24 hours, she had come to expect nothing short of self assurance from him. It was odd then, that now that he stood before her he was more or less scared. Odd and interesting. He hesitated for a long while with his answer, and as he did so, she felt again the strange tingling associated with strong feelings from her summons.

As he finally spit it out, Kaede's demeanor didn't change. Not really. It was the same placid look she had been giving him since she stepped from the shower. Now she began to calmly dry her hair. She wasn't one to hate someone based on where they were born. She wasn't one to be suspicious of others because of their birth. After all, she herself had more than a few issues with where she was from, but was thankfully Fioran in the long run. Now she pondered quietly how to get him out of this super sticky situation that he had somehow been tossed into. It didn't sit quite right with her either. Them looking for Boscans when they had only just declared war this morning. Her brows drew down into a sort of frown as Sol continued to speak.

She nodded once as he finished speaking, finally turning to look at him. "Brush my hair please." She handed him the brush and turned so she was facing the doorway. Behind her, a very perplexed Sol began running the brush through her hair as a man mounted the last of the steps. He was younger than the others, and Kaede waited a moment before speaking, as he stared at her, and the man standing behind her brushing her hair slowly and very confusedly. She was still only dressed in a towel after all. Behind him, Ren and Yuudai walked sedately onto the landing, and she smiled as she saw them. This would be simple enough.

"Can I help you?" The man looked a moment more, as men were wont to do, and then sighed. "You're the mistress of this house yes?" Kaede gave a quick nod to let him know it was so. "We are looking for Boscan nationals who might be staying in any inns or hotels in the area. They are to be detained for a short period of time. And this fellow ran up here like he had something to--"

Kaede cut him off with a quick gesture. "He came to tell me there was someone here to interrupt my shower. As you can see from the mess downstairs, and as you can ask any knight in the providence, I was under search already once this more, for less official reasons. We have only just returned, and there are no guests." She leaned back and pointed at another section of her hair she wanted Sol to brush. "And you three are...?" Kaede smiled like he must be slow. "I am Kaede Arimaki. And these three are my summons."
