Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

He did not agree with this. "I do not agree with this." He stared up to the bulkier, taller man without backing down. His arms were crossed in front of him, with his hands hidden inside each others' hanging sleeve. Despite the calm stance, Fauron's expression was nothing any less stern, defying, and quite frankly just a little exasperated

"Right, sure. Thing is, you don't have to agree with it. The job was to go through this forest, so we're going through this forest! I thought you were one of those more professional fellas that knew not to complain." The larger person certainly believed it judging from how the smaller person had held themselves so far. The five of them were standing in a small clearing surrounded by hues of violets. Four, if the yak wasn't to be counted. Some ways to the side was a babbling brook, and the flowing pristine water filled the air with an innocent song.

Fauron didn't back off, and to his credit neither did he scoff at the comment. "The job was to pass through the forest safely and in one piece. And, should any dangers be discovered along the way, to deal with it. But this? As I have mentioned before, continuously, this path is beyond foolish." This wasn't the usual for him. Fauron knew how important it was to respect an employer's choice of route, especially when all he was hired to do was play bodyguard. But he wasn't looking for an early death.

From behind his klasses, Fauron assessed the group one final time. There were two other hired arms, and the cargo runner who had employed them. He raised a hand to pause his fellow mercenary's from releasing whatever snide insult was bound to be sounded, and continued speaking. "Look. I refuse to go any further this way. Keep your money of my share, or split it between these two since they'll be a man down, whatever. I'm out." With that, Fauron waved at them and walked the other direction to leave them to do whatever they wanted. Maybe he was being too paranoid and they would be fine, but he wasn't going to take the risk no matter how generous the reward was.

The other guy just had to throw in a last word. "Scared of some fairies of all things." Fauron should have kept walking, but he felt obligated to clear something up. The mage had only made a few paces from the group before stopping and turning enough to face them. "They are spirits, all swirling about for their seasonal ritual, and won't be all too happy being intruded upon." With a cold gaze, Fauron reached up to his Klasses and tugged them down to look at the loudmouth with eyes now revealed to be silver. "Do not underestimate them. Do be careful." He didn't hate them, despite everything. He just couldn't bring himself to care about stopping their lack of respect.

It was a shame it meant 'no work, no pay' for the week, but he wasn't too badly off. The sun was halfway set and bathing the forest in scarlet rays. The leaves seemed to absolutely glow with their more vibrant shades for the final hour of daylight, and it wasn't long until his brisk exit of the group slowed to a more relaxed trek.

Every time that Zeph had stepped into this forest, a strong sense of serenity had come over him. Though it was something he enjoyed feeling, greatly, it did bother him that he did not know the source from which this sensation came from. For the singular reason, he did tend to avoid the place, despite the number of people and creatures he had befriend in passing through. However, every now and then, he found himself drawn back without realizing what it was he was doing. It was almost like the forest itself was calling him back, time and time again. Perhaps, in this world, this was where he was meant to be. The thought was mildly comforting to a man with no home, but he was not about to put any stock into such a fantasy... At least, not yet anyway.

Today his long coat rested on his shoulders open, as he enjoyed the slight breeze that past through the trees, parasol still up and open to protect him from the evil rays of the dreadful sun that slowly sank in the sky. The ring that hung from his neck bounced gently against his chest as he moved forward. Unlike most, he did not take the paths through the forest, there was nothing here that threatened his well-being. When he had met a woman by the name of Inara, they had come across a troll. That moment showed him that not all problems had to be solved with violence, as she managed to guide the troll off. A few times, he had ran across other creatures, though they all were wary, none had been hostile with him. Now, he walked, catching glimpses of wisps moving between the trees. He was unaware of their reasons for being so active, but he did not bother them.

The last few rays of sunlight slowly began to fade, allowing Zeph to close his parasol and enjoy the view more so. This was also around the time that he realized that some of the wisps that he had noticed before were following him through the trees. Since he did not fear the spirits, he paid them no mind. The further he walked, the closer they got to him, until they were right with him, slowly hover around him. Slightly entranced by their presence, he did not notice that he had broken through the tree line and stepped onto one of the paths running through the forest. Ceasing his movement, he put his hands out towads the wisps, at this time, five of them now swirling about him. Two of those five broke away and began to circle his hands and arms instead. It was truly stunning thing to behold, and because of this, he did not take notice that a man was traveling down the very path he now stood upon.

Up ahead. The comment was unnecessary; Fauron could see perfectly well what was in front of him. Didn't mean he knew what it was, or who, and stopping at a respectable distance didn't do much to help find an answer. His weapon was sheathed at his back between his sash, but he made no move to reach for it. Not everything was a danger. He hoped.

Fauron had left that foolish company in order to let these spirits alone, happy not to bother them nor be pulled in by them, but here those wispy forms were. They danced around a man, and with dusk upon them, Fauron wondered if the individual clad in black was actually human. The wisps glowed around that person as the last of the bleeding sunlight began to dry out, and Fauron's ears couldn't pick up the rustling that someone wearing that many layers should be making in this breeze. As much as part of him scoffed to turn around and leave them be, Fauron was stuck staring at the ethereal sight. He hadn't wanted to make himself known, but his thoughts voiced its awe before he realized he spoke aloud. "Spirit?"

Ah. Now he couldn't just leave. Hastily, Fauron continued, stumbling to correct the assumption. "Or uh... simply someone who is beloved by them...?" He suddenly felt self-conscious as he stared at the center of attention. Slowly, the mage reached up to his klasses, and then spoke as he removed them completely, folding them and placing them in his back pouch without turning away from the person. "Ah, my apologies if I was intruding." For some reason, he felt it right to remove those fake glasses. They may have helped disguised his inhuman eyes on his usual errands, but right now he couldn't shake the feeling of rudeness that wearing them would bring. "Perhaps it would be better if I left you to your... hm?"

At the true sight of those silver orbs of the freeloader-of-a-spirit that had been lent to him, one of the three more idle wisps around the man approached Fauron, to which the mage froze.

He did not fear these spirits, these wisps.

He just... greatly respected the boundary between their and his worlds, even if they lived in the same area so to speak. But what he cared about didn't really matter-- the wisp slowly encircled him without any mind to his apprehensions until it seemed... satisfied? He hoped that was the case, whatever its newly merry bouncing meant. He was beginning to hope for a lot of things.

And then Fauron legs froze up doubly again, but where his body was stiff, his eyes betrayed his body and showed amusement. He felt forced to look around at their new company. While the two of flesh and blood had dawdled, the sunlight's official leave was greeted by a plethora of wisps gliding out from between the branches to light up the dark. Had they followed the man? A faint melody could be picked up from the collective of the wisps, and as Fauron couldn't help but listen to the wordless song of frost and rivers, his focus would begin to drift a little without his knowing. His eyes would wander off the man completely to watch the wisps, distracted by their play unless something were to keep his attention. Many moved closer to both individuals without malicious intent... or at least, no intent they considered malicious, and the bravest hovered closer and closer to each of their eyes, dancing in front of those burnt searing oranges and those glimmering slates respectively.

"Spirit? Or uh... Simply someone who is beloved by them...?"

Zeph blinked his eyes a few times, as the stranger's words broke through his trance. Slowly, he turned his attention to the newcomer that had walked upon this odd spectacle. It took a moment for his mind to clear enough to really comprehend what it was that was just said aloud, but not necessarily to him. Both of those were decent observations, though Zeph wasn't sure that was it. Of course the only real way would be to ask the wisps, not that they are necessarily able to communicate with them, properly anyway. However, when the man proceeded to apologize for the intrusion, revealing his eyes in the process, Zeph felt a response was needed. "I do not mind, nor do I think they do," He commented as the wisps when to Fauron, "But I am neither a spirit, and I do not think I am beloved by them. I am simply a demon, and I think they find me curious. As they seem to find you.

Turning his eyes to the forest, he observed more wisps coming out from between the trees, as the last light of the sun vanished from the land. Their wordless song drifted all around them as the spirits slowly danced through the air, surrounding the two of them, seemingly non-hostile, but that was always a guaranteed thing, as appearances could be deceiving. Regardless, Zeph did not feel threatened, of course he rarely did. If the wisps were going to try something, he had the feeling that there was very little that either of them would be able to do against them, as they were physical beings and these were spirits of the forest. To try and fight them would foolish.

Looking, again, at the other living being, he decided that it was rude not to give proper introductions, even with the current events unfolding around them. Turning himself fully face him, Zeph brought his arm across his chest and gave a slight bow, "I am Zeph Erez, last son of Lord Zeref," His introduction had become well practiced by this point. His mannerisms were still slightly off, but his speech had improved greatly, far less awkward. It was only a few moments after his little introduction, that he began to feel oddly light headed. The faint light that the wisps gave off seemed to be growing in his vision slowly. Was it possible that his human for was simply worn out from traveling so much. Maybe he needed to rest for a bit. With that in mind, he slowly lowered himself to the ground, to a sitting position, holding his parasol upright, the end of it resting on the ground. "I apologize, I seem to be a bit worn out," His voice sounded a bit drowsy.

There was that word again. Yet oddly enough, there was no reaction to that answer. No mental-splitting anger or discomfort or screeching at the mention of standing in front of a demon. There was... He felt a hum under his skin, but that was it. Just a little hum of acknowledgement. That's... different. Certainly appreciated, but different. Was it the area? The wisps? This person in particular? The lull of the wisps kept him from thinking on it too deeply. Fauron barely registered the gap of silence between the two as the wisps danced, and he only noticed once the other man's voice sliced the air. It was as if his focus snapped back for the moment, and the mage was left looking at the bowing Erez. Fauron replied out of habit, "I am called Fauron... and am human," he managed to tack on awkwardly. Through all the haze, of all the things he could think of, he felt it necessary for all parties present that he relayed that fact. He wanted to say something else. Took a breath to continue.

But that was all he could relay. A wave of something plowed into him, hard. Whatever he had been thinking about had blanked out. There wasn't even any white noise. Zeph said something. Zeph sat down. Fauron felt himself turn his head away from the demon, and then stared through the trees. All he saw was the darkened wood and leaves, but he still stared as if something else was using his eyes. Not his eyes. Their eyes. It was their eyes. Their silver eyes. My eyes. The wisps began changing their dance into something more rhythmic, more dramatic, and the song gained a soothing drum underneath the new aggression. They were snickering. All of them were attuned to however many others there were across the entire forest. Whatever they found amusing could have been anything.

How long was that, a few seconds? A few minutes? The human closed his eyes forcefully and breathed deep once. If his legs weren't locked, he would have fallen over. The human twisted his body back and opened his eyes again to look at Zeph, perhaps a little too harshly. Or forcibly. "I don't think it is just you. Volatile little ones aren't they." The human smiled, all earlier signs of hesitance gone. "Earlier, a group of foolish humans decided to trespass into the heart of their dance." Ah there it was, he wrested his legs back. He shifted his weight, testing his control. "Oh hey, want to go watch what will happen to them?" No, that was rude. The lordling was Worn Out after all. Understandable. But, "these sways shouldn't be as strong against a demon though. It's why you only look droopy instead of passing straight ou... Whoops, didn't mean to say that aloud." Eh, clumsiness. It's what happens when your host ends up letting his body get only partially hijacked. Told him to be careful...

His mind felt hazy, as if he was lost in a fog, like that moment when you first walk up and you temporarily have no idea where you are or what was going on around you at all. It was unusualy, as Zeph had never felt that sensation before. The only thing that was holding his focus was the wisps' movements and their song. He wanted to pull his thoughts together, to understand why hewas feeling the way he did, but it was quite the struggle. The few thoughts that were able to escape from the fog, were all ones wondering if perhaps the wisps were causing this, trying to subdue them for one reason or another. Of course these thoughts were quickly validated as a voice cut rhgouh it all.

Zeph's eyes immediately refocused as he looked to Fauron. The man's expression had altered drastically and his voice sounded quite different to him. Although, being a sound mage, it took very little change for him to pick up on it. Fauron continued to speak, mentioning a group that had interrupted some ritual of their's. This was what could have cause the wisps to react to the two of them in the manner they had. Now that Zeph was consciously aware of what was happening, the wisps' little tricks were no longer having the desired effect. It was true that his demonic blood had kept their magic from taking a hold of him as strongly as it would have if he had been human. If his body had been his own, it might have been possible that they would have been completely unsuccessfully all together.

Pushing himself up off the ground, Zeph waved his parasol slightly, shooing the wisps away from him as he did so. Once all the way up, he closed the distance between himself and Fauron a bit. "Some kind of possession? Or perhaps two separate consciousnesses sharing a single vessel... Either way, you are not the same individual that spoke before." It wasn't until after he had finished that he truly consider what it was that this being had just proposed. To view the fate of those that had upset the wisps could be interesting. Perhaps one of the few moments where he would not intervene to assist someone in trouble, as this was something that they had brought onto themselves. After a brief moment of silence, Zeph gave a short nod, " I must say I am interested in seeing what will become of these humans you spoke of."

Looking around, he noticed the wisps putting some distance between themselves and the two of them. It seemed that they were not fond of the fact that they were no longer having any influence over them.

He smiled. It was a faint little thing, but enough to show teeth. "Sharp. You're very sharp." And indeed, his voice was definitely lighter in pitch than before. Just a step higher, and maybe two steps more direct in tone. He wasn't bothered about keeping eye contact with Zeph, and to his own continued surprise he still didn't feel any rising aggression. Was this guy truly the demon he said he was? "Or maybe this is to be expected from the young lord?" he commented heartily, before waving it off. Literally, raising his arm to wave his hand between them as if clearing smoke, and the wisps that were slowly leaving them kept moving. "Kidding, I'm kidding. I think I like you. At least, a little more than these tricksters around us."

The mage turned around, willing to show his back to the demon, and eyed the wisps as they were making space. "If memory serves correctly, and it should, then it's that way. Yeah, it's that way, has to be that way~" He thought aloud once more in sing-song. "Should be fine? Yeah it should be fine. They know we're just observers. They should. They're little but they like to play smartly with the right things. Right?" he grinned, and the wisps continued their snickering, though to that comment or to something else who knew, "Right." He plowed right on through with more words, this time turning back to address Zeph. "Oh. And you weren't wrong. But if you want to go to the deepest technicalities, then me, Fauron, is still speaking. Just very influenced to be more talkative right now. Or at least talkative in public to you.

But I guess we both know it's better separating him from all of this. I can't offer a name or even an alias, so feel free to keep using that one."
As they were now set, he would begin leading the way through the brush and off the official path. He knew these routes enough to know where his ex-group should be, and if these spirits had already started pulling off their mischievous dances, then those people were either very close or already fallen into the heart of it all. If the two didn't hurry, they might miss it. Still, it was some distance from where they were, and he had no trouble keeping up his chatter regardless if it even made any sense to Zeph. "You'll have to excuse me for ranting. I would like to express that it's incredibly his fault for this. I really can't tell if he's strong or weak anymore!"

Spirits and wisps were visible no matter where they looked. Even if they weren't following as closely as before, nightfall had definitely brought out the majority of them. "I don't appreciate being shoehorned into this mindset. For one, this'll delay my healing by months. Maybe years! Of course I could try to leave this place and go back to a quiet meandering, but it wouldn't change anything, and since I'm already up on the surface I might as well find some entertainment for myself. But wow, what an idiot. Humans are susceptible, but it keeps happening to this guy. Let me tell you how annoying it is. Actually, let me tell you that I am looking at blood right now. That's blood right?" His rambling took a turn, and pointed at dark stains that had dyed the bark of the tree in front of them, just barely visible from the glimmering of nearby wisps. Odd. They still had a lot of ground to cover before reaching the supposed destination.

Outside of combat, there wasn't exactly a long list of things that Zeph was particularly good at doing. So when a chance came along that allowed him to do one of these things, he took it up. What that thing was here and now, was remaining silent and listening to the the Other Fauron talk on and on about everything. At first his ramblings seemed to be about the wisps, and their actions. How they saw them, and how that meant that they would be left alone as long as they just came to watch, and didn't act. At least, that was how Zeph interpreted his words. It made sense, as the only actions the little spirits had made towards them had been to put them to sleep in order to keep them subdued. Since it hadn't worked and the two of them had been no indications of hostility, there was no reason for the wisps to think they were a threat of any kind.

The way that other Fauron described his and the human vessel's association was, interesting. They were one in the same, yet, at the same time, quite obviously separate entities within one form. Was it possible that this could have been how Zeph might have turned out if his mind hadn't been so overwhelming for his human counterpart. As fascinating as that train of thought could be, Zeph was not in situation that would accommodate such a luxury. If he ever got a chance later on down the line, he would have to properly probe Fauron for information concerning his current existence and the circumstances that had led to his condition. Not really something he would usually do, but his interested had been piqued.

Pushing his own thoughts to the side, he continued to listen to the man speak on about his disdain for being forced into surfacing as it did cause it's own issues. While he could not relate, he did understand that being forced in such a way could be a problem when one did not properly prepare for such a switch. The implications could be terrible if the situation was bad enough, he could guess. However, Fauron suddenly shifted his focus, bringing Zeph's own to a tree that was along their path. Zeph moved a bit closer and touched the bark with his gloved hand, looking down at his fingers, he confirmed what Fauron already knew, "It is indeed."
