"Maaan Persies, the sun feels nice..." Arriving from an intense training session in the Lavander forest, Jaxus strolled along the bustling city streets of Poinsettia after yet another long set of travels throughout Fiore. Every time he returned, it always seemed like he was abit stronger, abit more knowledgeable, bit by bit, the young boy was maturing into his place as a guild mage quite well. "Caaaaw...~" //Yeeeaaah...// As Persies fluffed her feathers, eyes closed and head tucked into her majestic feathers, it appeared she was dozing off. All the while, Jaxus was wrapping his hands in long strands of white bandages, attempting to cover the wounds he received from his training. "Wonder if Jason is back at the bar..." "Ca-Caaw..." //Probably not...// "Ah, come on Persies.~ Now yer' just bein' a downer..." Jaxus' tone seemed more like a whine as he muttered out the last part. He missed Jason and hardly saw him. Jason seemed to be doing his own thing, and if had returned briefly, it was probably when Jaxus was away. "He'll be back when he handles...whatever it is he's tryna' do...Anyway...We should probably go see if Jayce or Reggie are round' the guild, but wanna' grab a bite first?~" Jaxus gave a toothy, playful grin and chuckled as he turned to his partner, knowing the answer already. "Ca-Caaa-Caw?~" //What do you think?~" Persies immediately stretched her feathers wide, perking up with excitement. Nothing worked up an appetite like a long journey. "Aye, let's go then!~" With that, Jaxus pushed off the ground, kicking off into a moderate jog as he delved deeper into the city, intending to find a new eatery to try. Little did he know...he'd find alot more than he expected today. |

Verrin just arrived in Poinsettia, land of Blue Pegasus. He didn't have much money left in his posession, but it was more than enough to put him up for a night. Still, rest was not on his mind. He had been making his journey to interview members of the different guilds, and Poinsettia was no exception. So, he started the process that had worked for him time and time again... asking random passerby until he managed to come across a mage. The first person he asked was a tall, lithe gent who seemed to exhude poise and nobility. His clothes were fine, accented with runic symbols and patterns, but his face looked like it had been pressed to a lighted grill. He laughed at the notion of being a member of Blue Pegasus, altough why exactly that was funny, Verrin didn't know. Still, he didn't seem like he was able or willing to help. Neither were the next couple people he asked... Verrin's stomach grumbled. His hands immediately went to his belly, but finding the egg tucked into his jacket. Sometimes, he swore he forgot about it... he'd been keeping it close to him all this time... it kinda became a part of him. He thought about what Fauron said again, about being a momma to the bird inside... He certainly looked the part, at the moment: a great big pregnancy belly, despite being a boy. Verrin couldn' thelp but laugh. He may looks silly now, but who's gonna be the one laughing when Verrin strolls into town with a phoenix perched on his shoulder, eh??? Regardless, he patted the egg gently, wondering where a good place to eat might be. He'd probably end up wandering for a bit before he found something good... still, maybe with his financial situation... he should just settle for something cheap and filling... Just as he was considering that tiny issue, he came across a little place which seemed promising. It looked like it just got a fresh coat of paint, the sign over the door free of any sign of aging... a new place. Julian looked down at the egg through his tucked-in shirt, addressing it like it were another person. "Let's hope they're trying to lure folks in with cheap food, eh?" |

"Eya', Persies, look!~" Coming to a sliding halt with a small hop, Jaxus pointed to the recently opened establishment, remembering when it was a shut down crap shack last time he was in Poinsettia. "Eheh, looks like someone finally bought it, did a good job though.~" "Ca-Caaaw.~" //Seems decent.~// Admiring the new paint job, and the numerous renovations, Jaxus' gut told him it could be surprisingly good. Then again, nearly any meal sounded good to his gut, but at least Persies agreed with him. "E-Ehhh...?" As he approached the newly opened restaurant, Jaxus took note of a blonde haired individual adorned in mostly red clothing, a kid from the looks of it, but Jaxus knew from experience height was a poor indicator of age, something he found to his minor annoyance, was quite common. The metal bands and weapons they carried stood out, especially the oversized pen, but what stood out most? The strange lump in their shirt, as far as Jaxus could tell, they were male. He stared with a vacant, clueless look, blinking afew times as the figure caught Persies' attention. Suddenly, Jaxus felt an overwhelming since of Deja-Vu, while Persies slowly cocked her head to the side, gaze unwavering, equally as curious as her traveling partner. "Persies, what'cha thi-" "Caa-Caa-Caaw!~" //Come on Jaxus!~// "EEEY! PERSIES! GET BACK HERE!" Persies instincts were going wild, and only confirmed to her by Jaxus' suspicions, causing her to take off into the sky with a loud, yet non-threatening bird call. If Verrin didn't prevent her from doing so, her flight would slow as she approached afew feet from him, and would attempt to gently land on his shoulder, Jaxus jogging toward them not far behind, waving towards the blonde haired mage. "Eeeey!~ Sorry bout' my bird!~ She won't bite!~ Promise!~" Jaxus' tone was friendly and sincere, albiet slightly worried that Persies was trying to perch on her shoulder. If Persies had managed to perch on Verrin's shoulder, she would direct her eyes at him for a solid moment, a calm curiosity in her demeanor before looking down at the lump in Verrin's jacket with equal curiosity. Verrin was just about to enter the establishment when he heard a bird screeching. He turned quickly, but didn't expect what he saw: a giant bird was flying straight for him! He ducked and dodged, batting at the giant mass of white feathers. It was only a few more moments before the young Mage heard someone yelling. He turned to see a kid with long black hair, reaching apologetically for the bird which was currently assaulting him. Verrin straightened himself up again, checking to make sure the egg was safe before turning back to the newcomer. "Yeah... it fuckin' better not, man." he grumbled, "Jeez, what's that thing's problem, anyways?" He could tell the bird wasn't done with him, but for now Verrin seemed a bit more confident it would leave him alone, now that its master was here. He didn't notice it at first, but there was something strange about this guy... He couldn't quite place it though. Every time he opened his mouth, though, Verrin felt like something was... off. Still, in the end, Verrin decided that his stomach would win over his curiosity, waving off the kid and his bird and entering the restaurant. Close behind him was the kid and his bird, although the young Mage didn't pay them much mind. He ended up finding a table near the back. He preferred this, eating in an empty part of a restaurant... he didn't have to look at disgusting slobs shoveling food down their throats and talking with their mouths full, for one. For two, it allowed him some peace and quiet so that he could think. Still, he felt like he was mere moments away from being interrupted, and not just by the server headed his way. For now, though, he'd just get something to eat. "BLT. Wheat bread... And a glass of water." "Uh-huh... Anything else, kid?" Verrin gave her a look that said, 'no. if there was, I would'a fuckin' said it, wouldn't I?' Still, she took it in remarkable stride, or maybe she just ignored it entirely. She walked away while Verrin unzipped his jacket, leaving the egg still safely tucked into his shirt. He leaned back in his seat and waited, enjoying the soft seats far more, after days of roughing it. |
