Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Water poured from the sky, filling the streets with rivulets that had started for form streams where the cobbles dipped. It wasn’t rare for it to rain in Fiore, but never in this quantity. People scoured around looking for shelter as the rain had started so abruptly. The stragglers ran around aimlessly, pulling free items of clothing or even in some cases large wads of matted paper that had once been books into an akimbo like pose above their heads, all too little effect against the onslaught. The distant clamber of thunder rocked the sky, the sky too dark to see the streaks of white above but, echoed on by the thunderous drumming, the bystanders picked up pace, sheltering under any roofy outcrop they could find. Ayn, pulled the hood of his jacket up, the material holding warmly against his ears; the smell of wet fur hanging around the edges as even though the water proof material held strong, it caused a water fall in front of his face, distorting the world beyond with a view of dancing water. “Stshh.” He cackled at, in a cross between a laugh and a sharp intake of breath. His inner more mischievous side was enjoying the view of people who had no sense of what to do in a sudden downpour panic, while his sane side knew that if he let himself free with the slurs and laughter, he’d be put back out into the rain from whatever shelter he found.

Circling through the tight streets, the half fox could make out the rain distorted faces of people peering out their windows into the street, watching in a mix of wonder and concern for those still moving around. A small group of soldiers moved past in a gait faster than a march but not so much as to look panicked, as their boots filled with as much water as gurgled across the cobbles. It was surprising how rain could bring people’s day to a halt so suddenly.

It wasn’t long until the half fox was faced with a large wooden canopy, one that was used as a area to seat people for an outdoor café, a good sized group huddled around the centre, some soaked through while others had only been briefly touched by the downpour. The looks were as water drenched and sullen as the clothing, but due to the temperate day, they were no more uncomfortable than simply being wet. Rearing under the shelter, Ayn pulled his hood from his head, shaking the drops that clung to his brow and the rim as he did so before taking a seat near the edge of the canopy.

Few people had seen him enter, they were too concerned with talking about how long the rain would last and complaining about the sudden onset to notice the teen adding to their ranks. “Three days, I tell you Three days I’ve been planning a trip, and now this.” A horse voice called from the background, glancing over his shoulder it belonged to a particularly plump woman who Ayn had to use all of his will power to stop himself from commenting on how he thought it would have taken her that long to pull herself back up if she were to fall over. “I tell you, this is the cities fault, they mess up the roads, then they stop the shops opening one day a week now the weather, If I had my chance I’d march up there and tell them what for what.” She started, a few concerned voices mumbled in almost mocking tones but nobody took action on the idiotic woman.

“A warm drink?” A voice called out behind him, tilting his head backwards he could see a middle aged man making a circular pattern around the gathered twenty or so people, offering those who were soaked through or looked cold something warm, the bone dry half fox had been forgotten from the rounds but still Ayn enjoyed watching.

RTFM already.
While many disliked rainy weather, it was most probably Arianna's favourite time. The sound of raindrops falling on different things filled the air with a variety of interesting sounds, and puddles that formed just under the edges of cover left shimmering reflections of the people who walked past them. People rushed this way and that to avoid getting wet, but getting wet was probably the best part. Well, other than getting dry and warming up somewhere with some hot cocoa.

On this particular rainy day, Arianna was toting around an oversized yellow rainjacket that quite nearly resembled a poncho, save for the hood with a duck's beak and eyes painted on. With it was a matching pair of rainboots, also yellow, but with a duck's webbed foot painted over the toes. She had forgotten her umbrella some time ago, but was unperturbed by this fact as she cheerily stomped along the rainy road, her eyes open for anything interesting that might have come out with the weather. Streamers of water tickled at her bangs as they dripped from the beak of her hood, but Arianna ignored those as well as she meandered along in search of rainy weather adventure.

Or snacks. Snacks were definitely a viable alternative. Or at least a viable start. Unsurprisingly, the warm smells of an outdoor café were some of the most inviting of this particular sky-spitting day, and the young girl was drawn towards it like a moth to a flame. Or to the smell of fresh baked goods and various coffees, cocoas, and teas. These smells, of course, were very familiar to Arianna, as she often spent the winters working at a café herself. Though, of course, it was a much more adventurous café than this one.

"D'you have any raspberry tea?" Arianna inquired of the middle aged man who seemed to be wandering around looking for customers out of the cold. With a wink and a smile he disappeared for a moment, before placing the cup into her hand... and waiting for a moment. It took her a second, but she realized he was probably looking for payment, and so she placed a small pile of small change into his hand. It seemed to be enough, as he went along his way looking for other people to sell his wares to, leaving Arianna to sip her tea and observe her surroundings.

"That's a pretty cool coat..." she mused to herself, observing the foreign design of the coat belonging to a white-haired man sitting along the edge of the canopy. "Wonder where he got it." Well, there was only one way to find out! With her raspberry tea cradled between both hands, she waddled over to go ask.

"'Scuse me, mister, where'd you get your coat?"

Ayn sat still, watching out over the rain filled streets while pausing on the edge of his seat. He’d only really taken shelter to give himself something to do while thinking through his next move, unlike many people under the wooden canopy, he had no severe dislike of the rain, not that he was a fan of being drenched through. Without the cold weather about he was able to take him time, in no rush to find somewhere to stay the night, not that it was particularly close to a time where he’d have to be thinking about hunkering down but still. There was a pleasant stillness about looking out over the streets, although the sky was dark and air filled with oversized droplets of rain, it was relaxing simply looking out over the now still town, most people had found shelter while those who were left didn’t seem to be near this part of the city.

Ayn’s plans seemed to drift off into a haze as often they seemed to recently, he’d never felt overly attentive but as of late he found his concern for things lessening, besides when living in the moment, there was a sense of apathy about what he was going to do, a little too deep for his own mind to really get a grasp of but his fox side dulled the worry and made is shift and shimmer like it too was out in the rain until it sank back into his mind, leaving him simply sat there watching the rain.
*****

It took the half fox by surprise when he heard a voice so close to him, he’d been in a daze simply staring out at the rainy streets, it was hard to tell how much time had gone by since he’d sat here, and the dark skies gave no sign. Before responding to the person asking, he looked around at the crowd, it still wasn’t horrendously large, but it had grown a fair amount since he had arrived. Perhaps an hour or so the half fox mused before returning to address the situation at hand.

Ayn was used to being quizzed by kids, usually asking about the spectral tails he sported or on odd occasions why his hair was white, but this was the first time his coat had come into play. Looking down at the now dry piece of clothing and back up at the duckling of a girl in front of him, Ayn broke from his hollow looking expression and burst into spluttered laughter. He couldn’t understand why some kid would come over and ask that question of all that they could ask.

Trying to play it cool was never going to work, it took him half a minute to catch his breath from the giggling incident. “I… I” Ayn tried to start, but the euphoric high was too much, edged on by his fox half he couldn’t stop, his playful sneers only ceasing when he had to stop himself falling from his chair onto the soaked cobbles below. “It was a gift.” Ayn sighed between heaving breaths, the tails behind him twitching still in a state of amusement and bemusement. “Where did you get yours?” His playful sneer returned. “If it was any bigger who knows, I might had swapped for it.”
