Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

As Esper took to the south, Marcie headed to the north end of the park. Quiet. Empty. To be expected after Moros' little display. But Marceline wasn't easily discouraged. Oh no. She had her mind set on finishing this job by any means necessary. She strolled nonchalantly down the park's path, hands in her pockets while whistling a casual tune. Nothing suspicious here. Nope. Scarlet eyes scanned every bush and bench. Every potential hiding place for a cat was a target for her scrutinizing stare. She was still choking back a wince here and there with the pain in her arm. Nothing she couldn't get patched up back at the guild. Easy fix. She exhaled slowly, only to find her distracted self face-planted in the armoured chest plate of a Fiorian knight...

With a grunt, then a quick backpedal, Marceline frowned, hands flying upward to cover her nose while shouting at the knight. "Dude, watch where you're going! Almost busted my nose over here! Geez." She grumbled, rubbing her nose in-between sniffles. The knight squinted, looking rather displeased himself. He didn't take kindly to being bumped into, and yelled at. He simply grunted, however. A man of few words, he was. But he looked over Marceline, then grunted again while removing his hand from the hilt of his sword. Reaching forward, he grabbed Marcie by her shoulders, hoisted her up, placed her off to the side, then grunted again before just continuing on his patrol. Befuddled, Marcie just shook her head before continuing on her search. She had no words for what just happened. Sometimes it paid off being a nobody...

Reaching the borderline of the park, Marcie ended up at one of the corner streets separating the park and one of the city blocks of Magnolia. There were a few dank alleyways that could potentially be harbouring feline menaces. She had to act quickly and get back to the park before all her other not so hard work was ruined by that sluggish brute of a knight. At this point, time was of the essence. He looked like a cat person.

Looking around Esper would move around the benches in the area, trees and shrubbery. Making to sure to look into every potential hiding spot with with peerless eyes. Sitting down he'd take a break as he massaged his shoulder, the pressure hurting at first but then releasing the pain the longer he held it. Standing up again he'd slow move to stretching it and checking in on the wound by lifting up the bandage. It seemed his blood was starting to clot and he wasn't losing blood anymore but any sharp movements would just open it back up where the canines sunk in being the longer teeth.

"Hey. There are no cats back here. It's actually a little odd. They are normally all over the park area but not today. Maybe your kitten went deeper into the city?"

Acting sad Esper would sit down as is he was giving up on the situation and had just lost a family member. Fake tears in eyes he'd muster up the feelings he had seen others display in the past.

"Sniff sniff..it's okay. Helping me was a big think. You'll make a fine knight one day. I know you were headed to the park but maybe you could turn back a little early and if you see my kitten you can bring him back. Oh he's a cute little boy with black fur and white paws. On the top of his head is another watch patch in the shape of a diamond. His name is Mugwump."

And just like that the knight would turn around to head back to town cutting his rotation a little short and missing the inner sanctum of the park. A fact Esper was grateful for since it meant he wouldn't risk seeing the hung up cats but there are always other knights to worry about.

"I'll wait a few moments for him to leave before searching the area some more. There is bound to be one around here somewhere. I wonder how Marceline is doing..."

The hunt was seeming futile at this point. There seemed to be zero cats in sight and the imminent failure of her mission was tugging at her. She despised failure.. She refused to be a failure at such a simple job. Imagine how Tartaros would react if she failed such a simple task?! How RYO would react?! She shuddered at the thought. No. Failure wasn't an option. It was time to break out the one weapon she had originally planned to NOT use. Moros. Poor dear. Still weary under the light of the sun. A tired, seemingly weak bird was great bait for cats. Vile things.

Careful hands scooped Moros from his place huddled against her neck. Precious thing, he was. Dead asleep. Shuffling carefully, she placed the small bird at the base of a tree, then shimmied up the trunk to sit on one of the sturdy branches. Taking what was left of her sweater from her bag, she kept it at the ready as she sat a while to wait. Moments passed. Minutes ticked away. Maybe this plan wasn't going to work. After around fifteen minutes, Marcie was about ready to give up and call it wasted time when there was a rustling in a bush near by.

Freezing in place, Marcie's eyes locked upon the bush when a small black cat slowly emerged. Its body was low to the ground, ears splayed and frame slinking across the grass in a slow approach to Moros. Bingo. Marcie waited, every muscle tense like a wound rubber band, ready to spring forward any second now. But she waited. It wasn't close enough. It had to be practically on Moros for her to effectively get the drop on it. Moros' twitching in his sleep made the cat flinch and freeze here and there, but drove the cat to want the prey more, now knowing it was alive. Not on Marcie's watch. The cat lowered further, getting in that pouncing position, rear feet kneading while its tail end waggled before it bolted forward.

Marceline dropped at the same time, sweater at the ready to intercept the cat. She snagged it in the sweater and hugged it to her chest. The frightened cat was thrashing about, claws snagging in the fabric of the sweater. Careful not to sit on Moros, she scooted herself off to the side before pinning the cat beneath her thighs long enough to tuck Moros back onto her shoulder. Afterwards, she took a bit of left over rope from her bag and tied the open ends of the sweater shut to create a makeshift sack to restrain the thrashing cat. Feisty thing, it was. Marcie made it out with only a few claw pricks on her chest. Nothing too horrible there.

With that done, Marcie decided to make a quick break back to the other area of the park. The center area where she told Esper to meet her. She had to get this cat there and in a tree before that hulking knight beat her there. But in order to do so, she had to literally run right past him, which would look pretty suspicious on her part. But she could go right over his head.. The sun was low enough to where it wouldn't cast a shadow below. Perfect! Gathering a bit of magic in her feet, space began to distort around her before solidifying into a platform. One by one, she climbed up a series of spatial platforms until she was walking through the air on solidified spatial distortion. She hurried quickly, platforms forming and disappearing with each rushed step. She needed to find Esper, get the job done, and get out of the area quickly.

With no luck and no cat Esper would sit down and lean back on a bench looking up at the sky. Clouds and birds would fly over head without a care in the world, with no mission on their mind. Giving a sigh he'd close his eyes and wonder if this is what missions really were like for guilds. If putting cats in a tree was something they did or if fighting monsters and collecting magical tomes was more common.

"Maybe it's just all she could find at the moment. She doesn't seem overly cruel and it's not like she's clubbing the cats before hanging them....I should head back though. I'm sure she's either found one or had headed back empty handed. Either way we need to meet up and go over what to do next."

Before getting up he'd inspect the wound on his shoulder again. It was starting to clot up nicely and there didn't seem to be any serious damage. Was just a deep bite into the muscle, one that he'd need to get looked at after the mission so he could get patched up. After all he had to get to work soon at the Inn the next day and if he was going to be at his best then he was going to need the full use of his arm.

Heading back to the park he'd sit on a bench near the direction Marcie had gone waiting for her to return, hopefully with a cat in tow. It would seem people were starting to return back to the park but were staying away from any of the trees with cats in them wondering why they were up there in the first place and hadn't been taken down.

"I guess this means the guards haven't been notified yet. That or this is low priority for them at the moment."

Marceline was hurrying as fast as she could, treading across solidified spatial distortion to bypass any knights. While on the way, she halted by a rather tall Sakura tree. One of many that resided in the well-known park. Might as well drop the cat off along the way. Hiking up a little higher with the aide of her magic, Marcie stood parallel with the top of the tree. She held the cat out, it looking up at Marcie with pleading lil' eyes that almost made her feel guilty. She gritted her teeth, letting a hiss slip through clenched teeth. Damn it, it's being cute. But a job was a job. She had to do it. It's just a cat..

Marceline swallowed her guilt and shoved the cat into a large knot hole in the trunk of the tree. She was careful not to bring harm to it. Just sort of shoved it in there. It'll be fine, right? The cat was too small and to scared to jump from the tree, so it just stayed there and mewled to oblivion. Marcie, gritting her teeth again, took a couple steps back, nearly slipping off of her platform of spatial distortion. Deciding it was far enough from that big knight anyway, she descended back to the ground, then hurried to the center of the park on foot. And sure enough, there was Esper..

She hustled her way up to the bench where Esper sat, she panting slightly. She was a bit worn out, and wasted too much energy on her spatial constructs. As she caught her breath, an aura of spatial distortion seemed to flare up around her, becoming visible. It soon condensed into a swirling orb of spatial distortion that Marceline made into a quick meal to recharge. Unlike other dragon slayers, she was capable of eating her own magic to recharge instead of eating the magic of others with her element. Pretty nifty since Spatial magic wasn't super common. After the quick recharge, Marcie peered up to Esper with a broad grin. "Last cat is in the tree. Now c'mon. We gotta book it out of this area. Mission accomplished. Let's grab that meal I promised you." She stated, extending her hand to Esper. Meanwhile, someone was lurking behind an unoccupied tree, watching...

The showing up of Marceline out of nowhere would catch Esper a little by surprise as he corrected his posture at her arrive. The sudden falling from the sky would give him a lesson in travel magic that he'd need to learn. With such means of transportation one needed to be able to sense all around himself as to not be caught off guard or attacked from above. If she had wanted she could have dropped an anvil on his head and he wouldn't have known until it was too late.

Taking her hand he'd go with out out of the park booking it. Once getting to wherever she was taking him he'd gather his breath and his thoughts.

"When did you get the last cat? I didn't even see you put it up anywhere while I was waiting. More importantly, what was that you did with your magic earlier. The spatial distortions and the consuming it part?. Can spatial magic provide substance and heal or is that just something you can do as a dragon slayer? If you have time I"d love to hear more about dragon slayers. More about you as well so that if we work together again I can be of use in combat."

Just as the pair was nearing the edge of the park, close to the exit gateway, they were intercepted by a cloaked figure. The figure snickered, standing before the pair. He looked past them for a moment, hat wiggling as if there was something beneath it as the figure took in the soft sounds of cats meowing nearly in unison. Poking from a rather canine-esque snout was a smouldering dog treat. It seemed as though the figure was actually...smoking dog treats. Marceline recognized him immediately as the figure that had hired her for the mission in the first place. His eyes shifted suspiciously beneath the dark brim of his hat. "Don't move... NO MOVEMENT! Stand still... I know you're there.. I saw movement.."

He then flung off his hat and cloak to reveal a male, canine-like creature. Anthropomorphic body, dressed in tan, spotted trousers and a pink-ish tank top decorated with the face of a dog. In each hand, he held a sword. It was clear this dog wasn't entirely right in the head. Smoked too many dog treats. The dog's eyes shifted again before focusing on the blurred figure that was Marceline. It seemed the dog man couldn't see anything that was standing still. Marceline perked a brow, then just reached out to pet the dog man on the head. Cute. The dog man immediately began to panic. It would seem that he wasn't expecting a sudden petting. He started barking wildly, eyes the size of dinner plates. "I'VE BEEN PET?! PET?! PAT?! POT?! PET?! WAN! WAN! WAN!" The dog, in a panic, ran off, dropping the mission reward money on the ground as he fled. Fled to smoke more dog treats.

"Well then... That was weird.. Let's get out of here. I'm hungry." Marcie crouched to pick up the bag of jewels. Tugging it open, she grabbed a handful and shoving it at Esper. ""Your share. You did help me, after all. Now.. Where's a good place to eat? Maybe we can catch a train back to Coreopsis and I can treat you to food in the city." Marcie shrugged, motioning for Esper to follow. Almost out of the city...

Almost out of the city...

Weird didn't being to explain what he just saw. He had seem some strange things since coming to Magnolia, like people turning into strange things or a bird turning into a wyvrn, even if it was just an illusion but a humanoid dog person?

"I guess that explains why he wanted cats in the trees. Makes more sense now."

"I thought this was a strange mission, putting cats in trees but it makes more sense now. As for where to eat there are a few places but I wouldn't mind taking a train with you to Coreopsis to hear more about the guild and you. I have a lot of questions if you don't mind. Mainly about dragons and slayers and our magic since I wouldn't mind working with you again."

Taking his share he'd curse the fact he didn't have his satchel anymore but the mission was over but he still had pouches and other places to store the money so it wasn't a total loss. If she agreed to Coreopsis he'd board the train with her and if she didn't he'd take her to the Inn he worked at since it had amazing food.

"So why is someone of your power level doing such trivial missions if I may ask?"

Since Esper was just as eager to get out of Magnolia as she was, then it was time for the two to skedaddle to the train station and bid the city adieu. She wasn't surprised that Esper had a lot of questions still, and had a feeling that the train ride was going to be nothing but endless Q & A, but at this point she didn't really seem to mind anymore. At least the job was done. And that was something. She perked a brow, however, when he asked why she was still doing such trivial jobs. She wrinkled her nose, then softly scoffed. "Tch. It's because I spent more time goofing off than doing jobs for the guild. I've decided to focus more on guild work now that I'm back in action. Gotta make Ryo proud of me. Gonna make 'im notice me.." She mumbled the last sentence under her breath. Sure, it's no secret that she strives to gain Ryo's approval and acknowledgement. He was someone she held in high regard with respect for his power and superiority to her. He was responsible for her being in Tartaros in the first place, so she felt she owed him by proving her worth to the guild.

Drawn out history aside, the whole explanation of her motivations and reasons lasted the entire time it took for the pair to walk to the train station. A train whistle howled in the air, signalling that the train destined for Coreopsis was just about ready to depart. Marceline motioned for Esper to follow. It was time to blow this joint, grab some food, and play Q & A with the fellow spatial mage.

Esper remained quiet for the most part on the way to the train as he listened to Marcelines explanation of her motivations and reasons. It would become very apparent that this Ryo person was someone she greatly valued and maybe even loved, if she was capable of such feelings but he got the feeling she was a bit of a kindred spirit and didn't really understand love, however that didn't mean she couldn't lust or like greatly.

Once on the train he'd head out of town with her asking her several questions about dragons, slayers and her magic. Not only that he'd get a much information on the guild as possible to see if they would be a good fit for her. Learning what he could if it looked like she was getting annoyed or tired of the questions he'd ease up and let her ask some or change the subject to something more interesting. Either way he had help someone do their first mission.

"Thank you for letting me help and giving me my first experience as a mage."
