Blitz shrugged. "I haven't the foggiest clue. Apparently when he set out to face this thing in combat, he didn't bother to try and find a picture of it first. Though," Blitz added, "Having met the beast he was actually looking for, I can't blame him for not being able to get ideal details - the thing is almost myth around here. And technically, he did have a point, iron skin is a rather rare trait, so I could see why he would wonder, though I think I would have left things off at the 'suspect' line, I don't think I would have done what he did, and jump straight to the 'oh, that MUST be the one I'm looking for' - I usually double check my sources a little better than that." Trevor seemed impressed, and said he hoped to improve his own abilities through the training with Blitz. "That can be arranged, if that's what your inventions are going to be styled towards combat - I certainly have many gadgets that are designed to assist in combat in some form or fashion." "Please," Shoop said, rolling his eyes, two spots of blue light about halfway up the hat. "Practically all of your inventions are designed for combat situations." "Not all of them," Blitz said. "There was the Chef's Gauntlet for cooking purposes, and the Freeze Foam for packaging needs." "Still, you're very combat-centric." Shoop noted. "And what's wrong with that, persay?" Blitz argued. "Nothing wrong with getting enjoyment out of a good fight." Turning his attention back to Trevor, Blitz said, "Glad to see you can appreciate Crash's techniques. Admittedly, he was perhaps the trickiest of my three companions to create, as his magic is based on Gravity, so there was a bit of trial and error involved." "It all worked out, though, so don't sweat it, bossman." Crash said. "And no problem kid, happy to help." Blitz nodded. "Trevor's right though, we should really keep moving." He turned and kept walking in the direction of the mountain, going around the crumbled remains of the tree he'd hurled at the now-absent ninja. |

Trevor said, “I...think that combat oriented inventions might prove to have the most utility for me. It seems that I am likely to be doing a great deal of battling in this world. It does appear to be my fate at the moment. We can discuss it more once we reach your...home? Fortress? I do not know what to expect!” The lanky youth smiled at Shoop and said, “You are combat oriented as well? I am fascinated by that fact. What can you do?” He turned next to Crash and said, “I do also rather enjoy your manner of speaking Crash. It is something that is quite refreshing compared to the formal speech with which I was raised. It makes a change from the usual.” He sighed, stretched and said, “It will be wonderful to rest my legs and perhaps get a warm bath. I think I am in decided need of some cleanliness. It isn’t easy to get cleaned up out there on the road. Let us make the last stretch of our journey then. Lead the way, Blitz!” |

Despite the argument between the hat and mage, Trevor seemed to agree that something combat-oriented would suit him best, or at least be the most useful to him at the moment. "I will admit, battles happen alot in the world," Blitz said, Shoop rolling his eyes silently, "Even I, who actively seek combat at times, have found myself in combat when I didn't expect to be from time to time." "As for my home....the official term would be 'Bastion', but castle is fairly close in terms of appearance, I suppose," Blitz mused aloud. "I'm usually less concerned with outward appearances over what the interior can actually do." Trevor also noted Shoop's combat specifications, inquiring as to what he was capable of doing in that regard. Shoop glanced down at Blitz. "You want to explain it, or should I?" Blitz shrugged. "You can explain it to him, if you so desire." Shoop glanced at Trevor. "Well, in terms of combat, I provide a mish-mash of options." Shoop said. "I can fire a laser blast from my top, I can summon a shield around Blitz or whoever happens to be wearing me, and I provide a source of constant healing for someone when I'm perched on their head. And in the event I have to fend for myself for a short time," Shoop added, a pair of bronze, human-sized fists floating from under the hat to catch a pair of twin lightning pistols as they materialized, blue and glowing slightly with energy. "A pair of pistols for self-defense." He let them fade away a moment later. The apprentice also seemed to have an interest in Crash - not in his abilities, so much as his way of speaking. "I do tend to talk rather casually, I guess," Crash said, scratching the back of his metallic head with one hand. "When I made the trio, I designed them so that each would have a different manner of speaking - I figured that if I made them all speak the same, it would be like having three Shoops around, and no one wants that." Blitz said with a slight chuckle. "Not to mention, you've only got one place to wear a hat," Shoop pointed out. "Also true." Blitz said with a slight nod. "But you're right, we should keep moving up the mountain." Blitz kept heading towards the mountain as he spoke - thankfully, one of the perks of living at the top of a mountain was that it was impossible not to see where your house was if you were in the right area. Blitz dug into one pocket of his jacket and pulled out a small, white paper bag, fishing around in it for a moment before plucking something from it into the air, snatching it from the air with one hand, and offering it to Trevor. "Chocolates? One of the shops back in the city was offering a lot of free samples." Edited by Balmung6, Feb 11 2016, 09:13 PM.

The slender young man smiled and said, “Bastion? I am inclined to enjoy that term for it. I cannot wait to set eyes on it in all honesty. I would also like to see what the interior can do if I judge your engineering prowess correctly. The sooner we get there, the better!” The appearance of Shoop’s fists and lightning pistols put an even bigger smile on Trevor’s face. His voice was full of entertained happiness as he said, “I truly must commend you, Shoop. I think that you would be an indispensable ally in a combat situation. It sounds like your suite of skills is truly formidable. I hope to experience them first hand one day.” As they wandered upwards, Trevor took a chocolate from the bag and nodded his thanks. He felt a sense of warmth spread through him at the companionable gesture. He said, "Thank you, Blitz. I am sure that I am going to enjoy this apprenticeship. I cannot wait for everything to begin! It is like starting all over again and learning how to be another version of myself. It will be an opportunity I shan’t waste.” Note

Blitz nodded in slight approval. "Glad you like the name. I thought it appropriate. I know the thing of having the letters of the words be the same is a bit of a common thing, but it really does help the name roll off the tongue somewhat. Also appropriate in that it's a word that means a place that's fortified, and my home certainly fits that description, though in fairness, I don't have many visitors to the place, and even less people trying to launch an attack on it - they would need quite a personal grudge to come shambling all the way up the mountain just to hurl stuff against my front door," Blitz added. Shoop seemed pleased with Trevor's praise at his weaponry, though he did note: "Well, perhaps 'observe' it firsthand, as I don't think you want the firsthand experience part, as those things actually do pack quite the punch." Blitz said nothing to that - he wouldn't argue with truth, and both Trevor and Shoop made good points, and he was hardly going to argue with someone praising the quality of one of his own creations. Trevor, to his credit, was still rather hyped about the impending apprenticeship. Blitz was mildly surprised - he would have thought that the walk and the brief fight would have curbed his emotional high somewhat, but it appeared to have only dampened it ever so briefly, and with the immediate threats gone, it had returned in full. It did, however, remind Blitz of something. "Ah, almost forgot," Blitz said, glancing back at Trevor. "You took a few scrapes in that last little spar, right? Normally, they aren't serious enough to merit immediate attention, perhaps," Blitz said, glancing at spots where there was blood on Trevor, "But given that we've got a mountain to hike up, it's better that you be in peak condition." Blitz raised one hand, palm facing Trevor, and a moment later, a faint green nimbus surrounded him, the wounds slowly receding back into his skin as if they had never been there in the first place. "Much better. Now, let's keep moving - can't start your apprenticeship until we're somewhere with actual tools." Note
