Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Verrin chuckled at that: dishes. Yeah, that'll be the day. He didn't even have a kitchen, let alone anything but a bathroom sink. Well, regardless, she'd learn that soon enough. He walked in, tossing his keys on the table as he took off his shoes at the door. He quickly shucked off his shirt, moving out of the way so that Liliara could enter.

"Take a my spare shorts and a shirt from the first drawer there." he instructed, pointing his dresser, "Bathroom's that door down the hall."

He figured that his clothes might be a bit too large for Liliana, but with his shorts, at least she could tie the drawstring around her waist until they didn't fall down. There were a couple shirts and shorts in there, so he figured she would be able to find something in a color she liked... so long as that color was blue... Or white. Huh. He never really noticed that, all his workout clothes were some shade of blue, or just white. It hadn't been on purpose, but... there you go.

"Huh... well, anyways, be careful with the hot water, it's a bit... finicky. Just make sure the cold is turned all the way on before you start, ya know?"

He learned the hard way that when the hot water came out, it was really hot. Still, it would do the girl some good to just relax under a hot tap for a while, take the chill out of her bones. He'd been in that restaurant for a while before he came home, and by the way she was acting, she really hadn't had anywhere else to go... She'd probably been in the rain that whole time, too proud to ask anyone for help. It had gotten pretty cold out there, so he imagined she was pretty chilled.

Verrin sighed. Why was it that no matter what, he ended up having to make sure someone's stubborness didn't kill them? First, it was Marshall and his complete unwillingness to not constantly be an asshole, now it was Liliara. Was she just shy? Embarassed? Proud? To be honest, Verrin didn't know. He just knew that he wouldn't have been able to live with himself if he'd left her on the street.

Liliana looked around the apartment thoroughly when he chuckled, and noticed one key missing feature. No kitchen. Well that took dishes off the list of to do's. However, she did see that there was carpet and furniture, and obviously clothes, so maybe she could do laundry for him after a shower.

When he told her to take some spare shorts and a shirt, she almost refused, but then looked down at her bag and sighed, blushing lightly. The girl looked down at the ground and bit her lip. "Thank you so much for your kindness, Verrin... I'm sorry I'm being such a burden..."

'Dammit, Liliana! Snap out of it!! This isn't you!! Stop being so melodramatic!' The girl sighed, coming out of her thoughts with a bright, beautifully crafted, plastered smile on her face. She grabbed a pair of random shorts and shirt, winding up with two shades of blue that didn't go together at all. "I'm gonna go take a shower now!!" And thus she ran into the bathroom and shut the door, forgetting to lock it.

The girl slid down the door and dropped to her butt, huddled over the dry clothes. "Crap. Don't get these wet too dummie..." She placed them on the toilet and went to the tub. What did he say about the hot water? She sighed, having been so lost in her own world she forgot to pay attention. Liliana turned the hot water on and started the shower without thinking about it. Most of the time it was never actually hot enough, and with the freezing cold down in her bones, she thought even boiling water wouldn't be good enough.

As the water was heating up, the girl hummed and got undressed. She pulled the tab to make it rain from the shower head and stepped in without testing the water first. Verrin would hear a scream as she fell out of the tub, and then an "I'm okay!!". The girl smiled though, starting to laugh at herself, in the best possible way. She fixed the temperature of the water to an acceptable degree and got back in, letting the heat wash away the cold outside and inside of her body.

After about ten minutes, she was finally ready to get out, stepping out with a sigh of relaxation. She looked around and grabbed the nearest towel she could find, not thinking about the proper etiquette in not using your host's towel. Once adequately dry, she put on the baggy clothing and tied up the shorts so that they didn't fall off. She then entered the living space again with a refreshed expression and genuinely smiled to Verrin. "That was exactly what I needed! I still feel bad that there's nothing I can do though... Maybe I can wash our wet clothes??" The girl still wanted to be able to do something for him.

Verrin opened the third drawer of his dresser. It didn't have much inside, a few pairs of jeans and a couple towels, but as far as the young boxer was concerned, that was all he needed, at the moment. He dried his hair, the majority of the towel resting on his shoulders as he vigorously rubbed it against his matted hair. He tossed aside a pair of pants to put on later as he toweled his chest and arms.

Verrin pulled a clean shirt over his head, white with a blue stripe across the chest, shucking off his pants, no doubt, at the same time that Liliana was in the other room. He was just pulling his foot through the leg of his jeans when he heard a shriek from the bathroom, sending him sprawling to the floor in suprise.

He quickly scrambled to his feet, pulling his other foot through his pants as he approached the door. He was just about to open the door when he heard Liliana speak on the other side. He relaxed quickly, shrugging his shoulders and turning his back to the door. If she said she was fine, she was fine, he assumed. Besides, it wasn't like he could just go rushing in while she was taking a shower, could he?

Verrin pulled one of his notebooks off the shelf, hopping over the back of the couch he used as a bed. Taking a pencil that was tucked into the spine, he began to sketch the contours of a face. He was just starting to outline the eyes when Liliana walked out of the bathroom.

"That was exactly what I needed! I still feel bad that there's nothing I can do though... Maybe I can wash our wet clothes??"

Verrin didn't look up, too focused on his drawing to pay his guest his full attention. He did, however, speak up, his hand never stopping motion as he continued to sketch and scribble, occasionally flipping the pencil upside-down to erase an errant line or a clumsy mistake. At the moment, he seemed completely absorbed in what he was working on... but then again, when he decided to sketch, he always was.

"Not unless you have money... Landromat, ya know? Seriously, though, just relax. What's the deal, anyways? You seem tense, like, all the time."

((OoC: So... Just saying, Verrin's gonna be very protective of that sketch... He doesn't like to show his work 'til it's done.))

Liliana was still drying her hair as she walked out of the bathroom and saw her bag. She blinked and then remembered something, running back into the restroom just as Verrin began to talk. The girl came back out with a wad of wet clothes while he said that she looked tense all the time. A light blush swept across her cheeks as she put her clothes back into her bag, wondering to herself how in the world she would get them washed now. Maybe she could get a job somewhere in town...

Anyway. She opened one of the pockets in her bag and got out a necklace that had what appeared to be a triangular prism of some sort attached to it. A sigh escaped her lips as she put it around her neck and walked back over to where he was sitting. "Sorry about that, it must be all this gloomy rain!" She giggled and walked around to try and see what he was drawing, also trying to change the subject completely. "What's that you got there!? Are you an artist!? *GASP* That's so cool!! I wanna see~!! Why are you being so secretive about it!? I'm sure it's beautiful!!"

The girl was back to being rambunctious and couldn't stop rambling about nonsense. It was hard to tell if it was all an act or not. It really did seem like the girl had a switch between two very different personalities.

When he wouldn't let her see the picture he was drawing, she pouted and crossed her arms, sitting across from him on the other couch. She stared at him, watching as he drew whatever it was that she couldn't see. "Meanie head... It's just a silly drawing!! You're silly!!" She giggled again and stuck her tongue out at him playfully. It was fairly obvious that she was socially inept, or at least lacked common sense.

Liliana yawned softly and laid down on the couch she was sitting on. "Umm... Just wake me up when the rain stops and I'll be out of your hair, okay?" As soon as her eyes closed, her stomach rumbled again. The pink haired girl growled to try and cover it up, but sighed, sitting back up and looking down at her tummy before looking back up at Verrin with a soft blush. "On second thought... Know any places looking to hire around here??" She giggled lightly.

"I take my art very seriously, ya know? Don't wanna show it off 'til I'm happy with it."

Verrin huddled over his work as Liliana tried to take a peek. He ran his eyes over the drawing, biting his bottom lip as he did. He didn't like showing off his work until it was completed, and this was far from it. Instead he scribbled along, glancing up at his guest from time to time as worked, as if to let her know he wasn't ignoring her. Still, his main focus seemed to be on his art, and the more he worked, the less he seemed to look back to Liliana.

"My landlord might be lookin' for someone... His daughter quit, wanted to be a guild mage... Moved to Belladonna, I think."

He thought about it a moment before he realized exactly what kind of question that was. Combined with what he'd learned of her so far... and the way she ran off as he entered the restaurant, he suddenly realized what that sound he heard was.

"There's half a head of lettuce and a tomato in the mini-fridge if you wanna eat something. Paper plates in the drawer."

He pointed with the lead of his pencil, but his eyes never left the page. While the bottom of the cabinet held his armor, the top was for more practical things. The left drawer held various odds and ends, including several types of writing implements. The right was where the disposable plates and utensils were. In lieu of a proper place to wash his dishes, Verrin had decided that this was the best option.

"And seriously? Don't worry about it..."

He chuckled. Honestly? It was kind of strange having so much spare income. Marshall was always bumming money from him and used to sleep on the other couch from time-to-time. This almost seemed like a return to form for the young boxer... Although he imagined that she wasn't really the type to randomly decide to wake him up to hold a sparring match in the middle of the night... so that was a plus.

Liliana blinked when he said that his Landlord might be looking for someone. He had mentioned what he did before, but her mind had been in a fog and she couldn't really remember right now. Not exactly, anyway. What was it? Oh! Some sort of restaurant, she thought. That sounded like something she could do. Whether it be cooking or taking orders, it actually kind of sounded like fun! She smiled over in his direction, though it seemed he was paying more attention to the drawing than her anyway, which she didn't mind. "Hmm... That sounds interesting. I'll go ask about it tomorrow then!!" She was sure it was too late to go and bother someone about a job now. They were probably already closed.

As she thought about what she would say when presenting herself for a job, she went wide eyed. What would she wear? She had no clothes. Well, that wasn't exactly true, she just needed for them to dry. The girl was just about to get up to try and figure out how to make that happen, when he spoke to her again.

The girl blinked and blushed brightly when he just told her where there was food and plates. "I-uhh... I'm not umm..." She sighed and giggled lightly in defeat, her cheeks cherry red. "Thank you... I promise as soon as I get my first paycheck I'll take you out to a nice dinner wherever you want!!" She grinned, finally having come up with a way that she thought would be good to pay him back.

Guess she didn't really hear him when he said not to worry about it, her mind already on a fast track to food. As she made herself a salad, the girl sang quietly. Her voice was soft and sweet when singing like that, not so loud and obnoxious as usual. After she made it, she sat back down and ate, more like devoured, it. She threw the plate away and smiled. "Thank you again!!" She giggled and then went to hang up her clothes in the shower so that they would hopefully dry by the morning.

When she came back out, she sat down on the couch and just watched him, wondering how long it would take him to finish with the picture, but deciding it was best to just stay quiet while he worked. His facial expressions were enough entertainment for her... At least for about half an hour. After that, she would start dozing off while still sitting up straight, simply leaned back against the cushions.

As Liliana watched, Verrin continued to labor over his work. He had originally planned on a nap, then watching a few fights, but this weather, combined with who he found in it, had convinced him that wasn't the best course of action. Still, it was a great excuse to spend some time drawing again. He hadn't had a new subject in a while, and drawing the candles on his cabinet was starting to get irksome. As her eyes drooped, Verrin wondered if she would mind...

Marshall didn't like it, but there wasn't much he liked in the first place. He thought it was weird that Verrin drew pictures of him, but Verrin considered it perfectly natural. He just liked to draw people because of all the little imperfections and carefully aligned features that would really make the figure pop. If you didn't get the strokes just right, chances are you'd end up with someone unrecognizable. It was a good way to gauge his skills in a more meaningful way.

Verrin yawned, his arms stretching out, pencil still in-hand. His other hand propping up his head, he looked down at the picture, then back to his guest. His eyes started to droop as he looked at the image, setting it next to him, face down, as he sunk deeper into the center of the couch, his chin resting lightly on his chest. It wasn't long before Verrin himself was passed out, just as much from the late time of night as the strenuous activity he had been involved before he came home.

While he slept, he dreamed of the fights. He dreamt of the glory. He dreamed of being a great boxer: the title-holder, the record breaker, the big cheese. He rubbed it in Marcus' smug prick face. In the waking world, Verrin was smiling, the corner of his mouth turning up as the rain started to lighten up. The downpour slowed to a drizzle, which lightly misted the windows of Verrin's apartment.

The boxer wouldn't wake until the sun streamed through his window the next morning.
