traitorous bastard
The Catagories | Level 1 | Level 1 generally consists of the weakest side of nature, creatures that aren’t much of a threat, even to the lowliest of fighters. Wildlife and household pests are good examples of what makes a Level 1 threat. As such, there won’t be much in the way of specifics. | | Level 2 | Level 2, in contrast to Level 1, actually start posing a threat to people that are below average in terms of physical prowess and mental processes. They can be found pretty much anywhere if one looks hard enough. Simple animals, they could cause a bit of trouble if one without wits is caught unawares by a group of them. Unusually large spiders, angry dust mites and a family of particularly bitey mice are good examples of Level 2 threats. | | Level 3 | A somewhat ‘intermediary’ level, the majority of creatures found here can be considered the beginner level of enemies. They are little to no threat to anyone in reality and the most they do is scare children that wander into them on their adventures. Little can be added about Level 3 threats other than- Don’t worry if you come across anything less than 10 of them. Gremlins, weak poltergeists and mundane birds are common examples of these. | | Level 4 | Level 4 consists mainly of the ‘standard’ enemies one would find on an otherwise normal adventure across Fiore. They can cause some concern and put up a fight, albeit not much of one at all for the hardy traveller. That being said, these creatures can hardly create decent enough stratagems to outwit the common folk and can be easily put down with a bit of elbow grease. And maybe a mallet or two. Lesser Goblins, Giant Spiders and Skeletons summoned through novice necromancy are examples of Level 4 threats. | | Level 5 | This is where the challenge begins to show as enemies become as intelligent, as strong and as fast as the average human. The creatures can put up a decent fight and give you a run for your money if you’re not adequately prepared or strong enough to face them confidently. Beware not to underestimate those of Level 5, as they can easily put you in a difficult situation, be it with strategy, numbers or sheer, bestial strength. It is important to note that most, if not all human enemies would fall under this category or higher. Alongside humans, standard goblins and big, angry wildlife are examples of Level 5 threats. | | Level 6 | This is the reality of difficulty. This where the baby boots come off and one must give an actual effort in order to win. These enemies can be considered the ‘Above-average’ of this scale. While these enemies are indeed tough and durable, they are far from impossible to defeat. Renegade Mages, Pygmy Ogres and Giant Hornet swarms are fair estimates of this level. | | Level 7 | These enemies are a step above above-average and can safely be considered the elite. Large, dangerous creatures that would require a consistently tested and effective strategy in order to put down. No one of lower levels of ability in any regard would be much of a challenge to these creatures. The threat of death becomes a real possibility unless planning, intense effort and cooperation is put into place. Most ‘Dire’ creatures would fit into this category. Baby Wyverns, Griffons, Chimera and most Lesser Demons. | | Level 8 | The giants of the walking world, Level 8 monsters are an incredible threat to any lonesome traveller. Generally capable of free-thought and competent in the art of slaughter, these creatures can prove to be a challenge to even high calibre mages. Large amounts of planning and strategy can prove helpful in the hunt for these monsters, along with specialised weaponry and mechanical assistance if applicable. Understanding the behaviours of these monsters is essential to a successful combat situation. If one is unlearned of their mannerisms, they may find themselves hanging upside down 500ft in the air because they tried to attack its giant, muscular legs. Most ‘Fel’ creatures would safely fit in the lesser of this category, whereas Demons, Hydras, Sand Orcas and Wights would fit in the higher. | | Level 9 | This is where things start getting out of hand. One of these creatures alone could wipe out a small village without much effort and could even take on a platoon of highly trained knights. No simple human could hope to overcome such an adversary, though there are a good few amongst the millions who could. It is difficult to understand how this segment ranges, though if one sees one of these creatures for themselves, it wouldn’t take long to realise the difficulty ahead of them. Fighting these creatures would require in-depth planning, individual specialised roles for a large group of people that come equipped with high-class weaponry and their own ability to think freely against such unpredictable foes. Most ‘Gore’ creatures would fit well in this section; along with Liches, Wyrms, Wyverns and Higher Demons. | | Level 10 | Impossible to fight. Impossible to defeat. Impossible to kill. To battle with these creatures is to wage war with mortality itself and lose. Heed my warning and just don’t, lest you wish to die like a mite under the foot of a mountain. Only the most legendary of creatures would fit this title and none of them are assumed to exist. Gods spanning entire forests, winged beasts that paw across oceans, the very core of the planet. Most have names… and they are the less powerful ones.
