Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Work work work! Having decided that living off borrowed food was somewhat limited - after all, she could hardly take her pick of snacks that way - Arianna had decided to treat her work a little more seriously. For now. Until payday. The yellow-eyed self proclaimed 'magical girl' was currently dolled up in an elaborately loli-ruffled elf costume for the holidays, tones of green and red that bordered on pink predominating the outfit while being accentuated by a plethora of blue and silver ribbons that made her look just a little bit like a tree ornament.

As it was a very busy time for the Bishoujo-Ai, Arianna's primary duties were in serving customers. Though she enjoyed her time in the kitchen, the need for stools to accomplish most tasks meant that she was a little slower than some of the older girls. Besides, the older customers were much less likely to harass an adorable little girl than a cute young woman, anyway. With a never-fading smile, the bubblegum-pink streaked brunette cheerfully read out the day's specials to customers with her usual 'work enthusiasm'. 'Cause snacks were on the line.

"Floral tea with sugar-foam and sprinkles in sunflower patterns, or as cute animals on request~ Omu-rice with one of our mascots and a message from one of our workers ~ And four different varieties of cake!" It didn't take much effort for Arianna to be enthusiastic when talking about cake. Cake was love. Cake was life. Anyone who couldn't understand that simple, undeniable truth had no business at the Bishoujo-Ai. "If you buy two cakes, you can get a special sized cocoa for sharing, too! This week only! It's nommy."

Magnolia was a strange place, probably strange in the sense that it was filled with people with magical potential. Nanashi was surprised at the number, or so how it felt to him. He could hardly pass by the street without an inner alarm telling him that there at least two he had passed by. Some could hide their powers well while others weren't so mindful. It appears as though there was no concept of fear for their identity. Well, that should be expected in a town known for their rambunctious guild. Or so he heard of.

In any case, Nanashi was still following the recorded memories of his late friend. He had come to know of the directions by heart, like a map was well-drawn in his mind. And Magnolia happened to be a certain point that he lingered much of his time at. Was there something to do in this city, he couldn't help but wonder, already cursing at his lack of attention during that time his friend told of his exploits in the area. Then again, it was because he had yet to truly trust the monk back then. Still, directions were easier to remember than trivial stories.

As he came round the corner, his senses would pick up ad odd aroma. He wasn't entirely an animal, though perhaps he would rather be one than a human, but years of living like one in the Deep Forest had allowed him to have superior senses, and his nose was leading him to somewhere. He did not appear whimsical as he kept a steady pace in his march down the street. He avoided as much contact with passersby as possible. And though some women greeted his eyes, he cared not really.

Instead, he came to a stop in front of a shop. And from outside the glass windows, he could see a bit of what was inside. It was strange, colorful and sweet. Well, it was the word for which he could convey his judgment with since the aroma did smell that way. Still, it was unlike the sweets that his monk friend had given him once. How odd.

Customer service was an art, and who would better understand what customers wanted than customers themselves? It was only logical, then, for someone who worked regularly with customers to talk to customers. It was a perfectly circular, admittedly flimsy argument, but it worked well enough for keeping the boss off her case as Arianna cheerfully chatted with anyone and everyone she met in the cafe.

They certainly couldn't deny that sales were higher when she worked the floor, anyway. Of course, that also meant that her focus was all over the place, and... today was no exception. "One sec," Arianna excused herself, spotting a window shopper and, by extension, potential fellow snack-lover. More importantly, she'd never seen them before, and her curiousity got the better of her, as it often did.

"Yellow~! Howdy, you lookin' for some snacks? We've got lots inside." Without waiting for a response, Arianna reached out to lead the stranger inside, where she was already pondering what kind of snacks would be appropriate. Of course, that was... if they let her.

Puzzled by the design of the strange colourful things that were on display – he has yet to recognize them as the source of the sweet scent since they looked a farcry from what he had experienced before – he stared at them, almost glaring, brows almost meeting each other as he leaned ever closer to the window. It was just his habitual predatory instinct that stopped him from growling, otherwise that would pretty much announce his presence and that would fail him as a top predator had this been a game of survival. Still, if the deserts could have screamed in fear, they would have. After all, unlike the other customers who were quite in amazement and eager to taste them in all happy faces, Nanashi was still deciding in his mind if this was in fact the same as sweets.

Then, the door to the strange shop opened and a spirited girl appeared to address him. And quite the pusher, as she didn’t even bother to wait for his reply. Instead, she held his hand– something that irked Nanashi and had he been in a bad mood, would have thrown her over for such an attempt– and then she led him into the said establishment. And almost immediately, the aggression inside him calmed down a bit as the sweet scent intensified. His eyes looked about in wonder, not in alarm or caution, but in sheer wonder at what was within that shop and that very familiar scent.

And without further ado, they came to a stop in front of a another display of the strange colourful things and Nanashi had to look over and back to the girl before making sure he understood things. “What is she?” he couldn’t help but think before his eyes found themselves falling back to one of the said deserts. “Are you feeding me?” he ended up saying with a hopeful tone.

Arianna was more than familiar with dealing with people with initial resistance to her presence, but in the end they had all gotten over with it. Like a nervous dog that snapped at hesitant hands that drew too close, Arianna had long since learned to simply continue at her own pace and allow others to join her or be left behind. More often than not, it worked.

Smiling beatifically as the older boy relaxed, Arianna lead him to a table and placed a multicoloured biscuit on a paper wrapper for him. The biscuit was fairly tough at first, but after a few moments of chewing would prove to have a sweet taste reminiscent of strawberries and lemon.

"My name's Ari, and I'm a waitress, silly," Arianna explained, as if it was as obvious as the fact her head barely reached this stranger's belly. "The first one's on me, but if you want anything else you'll have to make an order." Nodding firmly, she folded both hands in front of herself and bowed shortly, waiting a few moments to see if he had any questions or requests.

Nanashi looked at the girl who presented herself as Ari with a bemused expression. He must admit he had never met a human like her before. Quite imposing yet polite. And so he would soon find himself being brought to table and given a chair to sit. Of which he thought rather odd. Even if memory reminded him of eating with proper tables and chairs and the sort, he always felt it strange. He will always be a stranger it would seem.

"Silly?" He repeated the word, "What do you mean by that?" A genuine question as he never heard it from the monk before and it sounded more like food than anything really. And to make it worse, she had placed him in a scenario he didn't quite understood. "Order? What do you mean? I do not give orders just to eat. I hunt my own. I'm not a useless fool, human." He frowned as he kept a serious stare at her.

But then he turned his attention to the strange colorful food presented before him and he wondered if everything humans ate in the wide world were like such. Surely it would be strange to find a feast of so many colors. Then again the scent was enticing and he dared to bite into it. It was crunchy and a bit tangy but then it began to taste a bit sweet and he couldn't express what else he felt. After finishing though, he looked back at her and pointed to the empty wrapper.

"What did you feed me? It tasted good but strange. Have you not those dark ones? That feel soft to the touch but melt in your mouth? The monk was fond of them."

"Silly. You know, when someone does or says things that don't make any sense," Arianna explained with a giggle, glancing sideways for just a brief beat to make sure that her boss wasn't paying attention to her conversation. They weren't, as they were occupied with dealing with several orders at the counter. Perfect.

"Huh? It's not about being useless or not, though I'm pretty sure you can't hunt for sweets. This is a place where we trade either work or small amounts of valuable stuff for food that needs special preparation. Having other people handle it so you don't have to is just an extra perk!" the young girl elaborated, fiddling with her apron as she pondered exactly what kind of snack she was going to have on her break. Well, that, and wondering how exactly someone could so thoroughly misunderstand the purpose of a cafe.

Resting her chin on her knuckles in a valiant impression of a philosopher, Arianna considered the strange man's request. "Dark, soft to the touch, melts in your mouth... some kind of cake? Like this?" Drawing his attention to one of the glass displays, she gestured towards a small array of chocolate-based sweets, including a rather rich looking cake.

It was odd. He couldn’t fathom a world were someone just needs to stay put and apparently their desired food would be offered. Even in the wild, the alpha would lead the hunt. It would be detrimental to show such weakness as complacencies. And yet that was what was being offered to him. He’ll have to postpone such a debate as the girl oh so eagerly began to show him the display of wonderful treats.

Indeed, they were dark coloured and looked rather polished. Perhaps soft to the touch. He wouldn't know from outside the glass confinement that they were all gathered inside at. An order was required. A purchase, it would seem. And yet, Nanashi was still quite unsure of how he should go about this. So he glanced to the girl once more, trying to decipher any hidden messages on her face. Perhaps it was a trap to lure him in. He would not allow his dominance as an alpha to be disgraced. Such absurdity it was to act like humans.

But then, looking back to the glass case that contained the cakes, he couldn’t help but be drawn to them. An unknown force was urging him, and his eyes were all set to a particular cake that was entirely black with a few strawberry slices on top and minimalist designs of white cream with caramel. Of course, he wouldn’t know what these ingredients were, but it fascinated him. Unlike the others that looked to gaudy and so frivolous, this was simple. This was acceptable.

“If what you said is true, then I shall trade my services for that one. I have no human money. But if you need someone to be killed or a prey to be hunted, I am extremely skilled. In fact, would you accept it if I offer venison meat in exchange? The forest outside this city has wild game, they could potentially be delicious.” he replied in all sincerity and seriousness.

"Hehe, you're pretty funny, mister." It was almost as if he had... wait, maybe he had. Was there a possibility that she was dealing with a real life hikkikomori? She'd only heard of them in the doujinshi that big sis liked to read, and Arianna had occasionally snuck a peek in. Some of them hadn't been that bad, but some of the pictures she'd seen in the others had scarred her for life. Or at least until she found a suitably tasty snack to take her mind off of things. Maybe that was why this weird man was here. Maybe he, too, needed noms to get his mind off the creepy stuff that was out there, just waiting for an unsuspecting mind.

So Arianna waited with absolute patience as Hiko-chan, as she had now dubbed this poor fellow, looked over the cakes and pondered out his options. Of course, she had to stifle a giggle with one hand as Hiko-chan turned around and offered his services as an assassin slash game hunter in exchange for the sweets. The owner would love to hear that one. Though she looked like a rather normal middle aged lady to the casual observer, Esmeralda had actually once been a famous monster hunter in... some country in the east? Arianna certainly couldn't remember.

Unfortunately for Hiko-chan, Esmeralda had overheard Hiko-chan's offering and promptly appeared as if from thin air, her elaborate headdress wavering. "I hear that we have an aspiring hunter here! So, you don't have any money? Well, how about we have a little contest, with whatever cake you'd like as a prize?" the soft-voiced woman suggested, only her impeccable bearing and absolute lack of openings giving away any of the potential trouble that Hiko-chan had just gotten himself into.

Nanashi was about to utter that he was not being funny and that he was in al honesty being rather serious, when suddenly, someone had butted in. He faced the stranger, a woman, quite young, but her words definitely rang with an authoritarian vibe. She seemed to know a deal of two of the scenario unfolding between him and the girl who was helping him with figuring out all these sweet delicacies. But of course, he needed to correct one thing…

“I do not aspire. I am,” said Nanashi as he straightened his stance to tower over the latter, giving her his most serious gaze (not intimidating, just seriousness). “I have and will always be a predator.” It may seem preposterous for anyone else, but for Nanashi it was one of the things he took great pride in. After all, one does not simply claim what they are unless they could actually do it. Or at least that’s what he does.

Then, he smirked. The last few words were clearly a challenge for him– one that he was willing to accommodate. After all, he liked the idea of working for his meal, and this one entailed one of his life-long activity– hunting. “I’ll agree on your offer,” he began before he drew out one of his blades from the harness around his waist, making the curved blade of the kukri Nightwalker glint against the shop’s lighting. “What do you recommend I hunt?”
