"...Why'd they make this suit so friggen' tight?" Jaxus let out a discomforted growl as he clawed at the collar of his rented stylish, high class tuxedo. Unlike most days, his hair wasn't a ragged mess, but instead, his bangs were swept away from his eyes tucked over his ears, while the rest of his long hair was wrapped into a surprisingly well done ponytail. In fact, Persies was the one who applied his tie and ponytail, as any attempt he made himself had failed quite miserably.

Yet and still, the suit was "waaay" to tight for his liking, and it felt liable to rip any moment. Unfortunately, he had spent so long deciding, that when he realized the Ball was to start shortly, he made a rushed decision on what he thought looked the best. ...Bad idea. Luckily, it had a special pocket for a rather fancy looking rose Jaxus bought for the occasion, sporting elegant rose red and light elegant purple colors. It was an odd flower, but exotic, and it took Jaxus all day of searching to find the right one.

"Well, I still got ten minutes.~ Let's take a shortcut and we can still get there early! Come on Persies!~" Jaxus had now lived in the city for nearly a year now, and in his short time staying while taking a break from travel, he had taken much time and dedication, coordinating with Persies through their link to map out the city at least once on every return. By now, both of them had grown to learn the streets very well. In a rushed jog, care not to damage the suit, Persies held onto his shoulder as he ran for a nearby cross section of back alleys. If he dove straight down the maze of alleys in the right order, he'd be there with three minutes to spare.

"Persies, up top! I need a bird's eye view!~" "Ca-Caaaw!" //Aye Sir!// As he dashed into the alleys, Persies took to the skies above, gaining a higher elevation for Jaxus to relay her sight to him through their mental link. "Caaw! Caw! Caww!" //Right!...Left!// High in the sky with a third story view, Persies could see the ball in the distance, directing Jaxus through what seemed to be the fastest way there!

"Come on, come on! I can't be late!" Attempting to speed up and hopefully not rip the suit, Jaxus was not only using Persies words, but with their link, she relayed her very sight to him, showing him the entire path ahead. "Huh...!" From Persies' view, Jaxus caught something strange, a shift of movement from an alleyway a distance away but in the opposite direction of the ball.

"H-! ......" Jaxus heart thumped wildly, swearing he hear someone calling for help! "...Damn it!" Jaxus gritted his teeth, knowing he risked being late, but as a member of Blue Pegasus, he couldn't turn away from this! With so many mages at the ball, and it so far away, he doubted the chances of someone else hearing it. Shifting down the alleyways, and away from the ball, Jaxus went on to investigate, rushing at an even faster speed before coming to a sliding halt, turned to the alleyway.

"Oi, oi, oi! The hell are you punks doin'!?" As Jaxus came along, Persies silently flying to the rooftops above them, Jaxus found a group of three thugs, the apparent leader with the earring holding a knife to a woman's throat, his other hand having seized her purse. "Eh, who the hell is this kid...?" From the way they talked, and they way they dressed, Jaxus deduced these were probably gang members from another city, probably here to prey on the richer members of Poinsettia who intended for a late night in the town for the ball. For a moment, Jaxus had wished he brought his costume but it was too late to think about that now, unfortunately.

"Go home kid, before she get's real hurt, ya' dig!?" "Hey, hey, I understand...~" Jaxus slowly raised his arms, offering a nervous smile as he took a step backwards, very, very slowly moving his palms left to right, as if physically signalling he didn't want trouble. ...This was false, he was moving his hands to make them focus their attention on him.

Swoop!

With a swoosh of air, Persies near silently dive bombed into the alleyway, claws outstretched as she seized the leaders arm, pulling the knife away from the woman before rending into his clothes and flesh with her claws. "AUUGUGHH!" "B-Boss!" "I AIN'T GOT TIME FER' THIS!" The larger gang member immediately moved to assist, but as he heart a yell just afew feet away, he turned to watch his back, finding Jaxus soaring through the air, arm cocked back as spheres of light erupted from his fist, creating a constant, elegant upwards stream of golden spheres.

Riiip! BLAM! In a shaped, cone like explosion, the larger man was sent flying backwards towards the alley wall, where Persies immediately took on a larger size, growing three feet tall, her claws empowered and burning with magic, now larger in size, ripped and teared into the leaders arm, throwing him in front of the airborne gang member as he screamed. Yet, in the chaos, the right sleeve of his suit ripped in half down to the elbow from the motion!

Crack!

With a powerful blow, the largest of the group came in like a meteor on the smaller leader, causing small cracks in the stone wall as the collective weight of their bodies collided into it, sandwiching their leader and knocking him out cold. "Go on, now's yer' chance, run!" The woman gave him a quick nod, taking her purse from the ground and running off as Jaxus became the gangs number one concern. "TO HELL WITH YOU KID!" Jaxus turned on his heels, eyes now shining with radiant golden light as he witnessed the third gang member rushing him, a lead pipe raised over his head. Without panic, Jaxus merely stepped to the side and as the pipe hit the ground, he stepped forward, slamming his foot on the pipe as he bent over, seizing the middle of the pipe with both hands as another rip opened along the cuff of his left foot. Swaying his body to the side and pushing the pipe, the man was sent flying off to the side from the leverage Jaxus gained, flipping onto his back as Jaxus seized the pipe, at the cost of ripping his tuxedo collar.

As Jaxus lifted the pipe, preparing to throw it aside, he realized too late he got careless thinking it was over. "Caaw! Ca-Caw!" //Jaxus, look out!// From behind, the larger man came up in a full on bull rush, far faster than you would think of a man his size! Before Persies could react, Jaxus was only able to turn around in time to receive a firm headbutt to the nose, before the running bull of a man lifted him by the shirt collar and slammed him into a wall. "AUGHH!" Jaxus got afew minor scrapes across his face and his nose began to bleed from the two successive impacts.

"Caaaaw!" In a frightening call, Persies became enraged, growing abit larger as she slammed her talons into his unprotected collar bone around the neck. "AUGGH!" Careful to avoid any lethal cuts, Persies dug deeply into the tissue only to subdue the man, bringing him to his knees as he fruitlessly attempted to remove the strong birds claws. Just then, Jaxus heard the loud, humming ring of a town clock in the distance! "DAMN IT, I'M LATE!" Taking his boomarang, Jaxus decided to end this as quickly as possible. Crack! Riiip! Stepping forward, he performed a basic straight kick, pivoting his heel and most of his body weight into the motion, slamming the man in the face and knocking afew teeth loose in the process. To bad that ripped his tuxedo's right leg...

Not even caring to be "gentle" anymore, Jaxus took his boomarang with his other hand with precise timing, swinging it right after his kick ended and activating it's magic! Crack! As he suspected, the other one was behind him preparing to strike, but all he received was a brutral strike to the ribs, sending him tumbling to the ground. "Pteh...What a mess..." Jaxus spat on the ground, getting the irony taste of blood out from his mouth, looking to his destroyed suit, then to the collection of foes. If he turned them in, he would never make the ball...So, with one last kick, he knocked out the only conscious member.

-Afew moments later-

Using the nearby laundry lines in the alley, with Persies help, Jaxus managed to tie up the group, binding their hands and legs, tying them all to a large pipe in a brick wall. If only he brought one of his ink pens to write on them...all well.~ "Come on Persies, we gotta' go! We're running really late!" "Ca-Cawww...?" //What about them?// "I'll handle that later, Persies!" //Maybe...// "Caaaw...Ca-Caaw..." //I heard that, Jaxus...// "...Oh...Right..."
