She looked at the skeleton sideways. Before the end of their little walk, she had learned more about the art of necromancy, and how different it was from what Jackal did, than any human being had a right to know. She smiled a bit to herself though, wondering just what awful things he had experienced with necromancy so far. The door to the warehouse was easy enough to get into. Unfortunately she didn't have a light. "You'll have to trust me for a minute or two. Just let my eyes adjust." She could see fine in the infinite darkness. The senses of an animal extended far beyond her nose..into her hearing and her eyesight as well. After a few moments exactly that happened, and she reached out for the skeletal hand to lead him into the darkness. She moved quickly and silently, keeping her eyes open for a source of light that wouldn't immediately give away their presence. She found one after a few feet. A small flashlight which when turned on cast a wavering beam of light. "Well that doesn't add to the creepy factor at all does it." Now she shone the light around the room quickly, seeing stairs going both up and down. Just her luck the scent trail led downwards. |

"Well done, well done indeed! With a light, we will have nothing to fear!" Jackal exclaimed, as he looked to the stairs that his partner was pointing her flashlight at. Something seemed really off about the stairs. Maybe it was the odd noises that were coming from the staircase to the right, the howls and screeches and screams. Maybe it was the way the air from the right staircase seemed to waver, like a candle in the wind. Maybe it was the fact that the entrance to the left staircase was boarded up with boards that had been there so long that even the dust on the boards had their own dust growing on them. Who would be able to know? "Ooh, let's try the right staircase first, shall we?" Jackal asked, taking a first step forwards - and vanishing into the darkness. Where he once was, now could be heard the sounds of something heavy slamming and smashing against weak wooden boards, like a bed being thrown off a particularly nasty flight of stairs. "A- Wim- Ba- We- A- Wim- Ba- We- I'M OKAY!" But was he? In the darkness, it was so hard to tell. Having gone down the stairs the express method, Jackal was still in the dark as he rose and dusted himself off, with nothing but the weak glimmer of a few glowing eyeballs held by skeletal arms bound to the walls to help him see himself. Wait a minute. Eyeballs? Skeletal arm torch-holders? But the FTG 2015 Halloween event was already over! "I TOLD YOU THERE WAS A NECROMANCER HERE, GET A LOOK AT THIS!" |

Snow agreed wholly with the decision to take the right staircase....if not the way the way her partner decided to make use of it. She winced physically every time she heard him bounce against something, but it wasn't as though she was fast enough to stop him. The cry from the bottom was more or less reassuring. And Snow found herself singing under her breath, badly, and out of tune, of course. "In the jungle...The mighty jungle...The Lion sleeps tooniiight..." Of course then she decided she should probably move a bit faster to check on Skellator. She could see him in the darkness at the bottom, basically holding his eyeballs in his hands. . . Which took her a full minute to completely process and made her cock her head to the side to be sure she was getting it right. The broken stairs on the way down made sure she knew his descent had been a rough one. Possibly worse than it had sounded. How that was possible she was unsure, but hey, he was holding his eyeballs. Couldn't get a lot worse than that. Probably. As she reached him she felt her own eyelid twitch in a sort of sympathy pain for the eye lids which had not done their proper job to hold in the eyes of the skeleton. (Lolwateyelids?!) "Erm. Do...Should I pop those back in for you? And what am I looking at?" It was a genuine offer, and for a moment she was sure this sort of shit happened to him all the time, and it was highly likely he had it completely handled. No pun intended for once. It was still unnerving. So she looked instead toward whatever thing he was attempting to point out to her, as her attention thus far had been wholly focused on just wondering what the hell happened to get someone used to having to hold their own eyeballs. Now she made an attempt to pay attention to something actually relevant. Whatever it was. |

Jackal turned his head around to face his partner, a look of confusion on his face, or at least, as much a look of confusion as someone who had no facial muscles could muster. "What?" He turned to where she was looking, at the eyeballs held by the skeletal arms bound to the walls. "Oh, dearie me- no, darlin', those eyeballs aren't mind, oh no, no, no. Why, these must be part of the necromancer's collection of evil things to make his lair look more palatable to his tastes." He chuckled, or uh, made the sound of dry bone rubbed against one another. "I pop one of those eyeballs in me, he'll get a foothold on my body. That's how they do it, you know, sometimes they act like doctors and run around promising people new arms or legs, body parts that they've already put their magic into. Then, they use those controllable parts to get them killed, and voila! New bodies to control! Why, I once knew a poor fellow who accepted a deal, and he was killed by his very own- uh, down there." But this was no time for chit-chat on FTG's a million ways to die in the west! There was a villain to catch! The eyeballs on the wall were thankfully glowing enough to show the path forwards, and that was what Jackal followed, all the way up until he saw something else standing not so far away from them. Was that? It was! A zombie, a little zombie girl standing there just barely out of the darkness of the un-illuminated areas! At least someone had the decency to keep her wearing a nice set of dress clothes. Silently, Jackal gestured towards the zombie, than made a cutting gesture towards his neck - the little doorguard would have to be gotten rid of, for the both of them to continue. While she was small, the skeletal man worried about her - there wouldn't be a reason something like this would be standing there, if they didn't have something special about them. |

Snow took a deep breath as she realized that the strange glowing eyeballs in question were not Jackal's after all. She hadn't shied away, but she had been creeped the fuck out when she thought they had popped out of his head. "Ohthankgoodness." It came out in a relieved rush all at once. Then she went back to investigating what he was showing her. These were indeed just decorations, and on closer examination weren't really magical or anything. "Someone...Painted them with glow in the dark paint." That seemed...Well, lame really. "I'm getting the feeling your necromancer isn't as badass as he'd like to be. Or she, I suppose." It took a special kind of strange to just paint glowdust on some probably fake eyeballs for "decoration." Maybe this guy (or girl, who knew?) Had a strange sort of inferiority complex. It was about now that strange sounds started making their way toward the pair, and Snow, randomly as hell, put her hand up toward one of the skeletal sonces, barely putting her weight on it. It shifted under her grip, cause her to fumble as though she were about to catch something. Nothing fell though. A door, however, hidden until she did this random thing, opened up just to the left of them, revealing a nice, well lit pathway. Also painted with glowdust to match the eyeballs. "This is by far he weirdest mission I've been on in a long while." But she merely shrugged and headed for the now open corridor with a sigh. The trail she had been following continued on this way, and she told Jackal as much. Then she started forward. |

A hidden passageway? How dastardly. Jackal chuckled as he walked behind Snow, making sure to keep on the lookout if any funny business was to start happening around them. "Well, you know how these types, darlin', they usually got a bit of a...flair. A passion for fashion, you know? Just, not like normal people, like you or me." The little dead girl simply standing there was, well, displeasing to the eye, but Jackal refrained from doing anything to it - perhaps a decision for the better, as the sentry didn't appear to notice either of them. Thank goodness the path was well-lit, the skeletal man could even see the half-dozen or so mangled wolf corpses that were circling around the door at the other end of this passageway- wait, moving corpses?! "Jackpot!" Oops, maybe he should have whispered - or was it all part of his plan? Didn't matter; either way, the zombified wolves noticed them, and now no less than half a dozen set of jaws were en route to turning Jackal into the world's most glorified chew toy. They made a noise, an odd noise - something like barking, but not quite complete. It was more of a whine, albeit a sound as mangled as these animal's own appearances. From the other side of the door, a voice could be heard, indistinctly shouting something or another; but there was no time to worry about that! Half a dozen undead wolves were coming their way! About four of them were headed towards Jackal - probably had to do with the whole chew toy thing - and two towards Snow! Jackal faced the incoming beasts with a look of delight as he cackled, his large sword already in that pair of bony hands. "You haven't failed to amaze me yet, darlin', so I take it you know how to defend yourself too, eh?" |

It was creepy as fuck, was what if was. This coming from a seasoned and well trained dark mage. Well, neutral but whatever. She'd literally been to hell and back at least once, and here she stood, looking at some creepy dead girls, guarding the entrance to an eerie hallways, filled with rhe gods themselves only knew what. Of course she scented them long before she saw them. She did have to a double take moment as the skeleton man referred to himself as "normal." She couldn't have held in the bubble of laughter if she'd wanted to. She was far from normal herself (whatever that consisted of,) but it was amusing nonetheless. It was about now that the Bone-man spied not only the door but the things guarding it. Snow already had her twin blades, Kiba and Tsume out and at the ready as he was drawing his giant sword again. "Oh I don't know. I'm ok I guess." Two large once-upon-a-time-maybe-might-have-been wolves were headed her way, jaws snapping. She crouched low to receive them, driving home a sword in either of their bellies as they made their respective lunges. Not that it mattered. Since they were already dead, this was no more than a punishment for herself. Putrid air can rushing out of dead lungs, stinging her nose. She threw the wolves away, as it were, and prepared for their second onslaught as best she could while trying to filter in some fresh air. They decided to flank her, one to either side. In return, she waited and watched. It was sad in a way, seeing the two once noble creatures at half their capacity for thought. They might have been smart enough, once, to feint. Not now. Instead they came rushing again at a silent command from whomever their master was, and she beheaded one neatly while managing to barely dodge the other. It too came at her eventually, her sword cutting through rotting flesh like a knife through warm butter. She did so enjoy having the best caliber weaponry money could buy sometimes. After they were both done, bodies twitching, she looked to Jackal, to see if he might need some help. If not, she would be continuing on toward the door. |

"Down, boy, down!" Jackal moved - well, it looked effortless. Or maybe that was because he had no muscles to tense up nor glands to secrete sweat. Disregarding his unusual composition, the skeletal man swung his great sword with all his might at the first incoming wolf corpse, severing the remaining half of its neck and sending its poor mangled body flying. The other three met similar fates at the hand, or in this case, sharp end, of a professional. Oddly enough, Jackal didn't make a single sound as he actually used his weapon against the wolves - a deathly silence, from an otherwise garrulous skeleton. After cutting the quartet of beasts down, though, was another business entirely. "Well, well, well, not bad there, darlin'!" Jackal exclaimed, though his attention and his gaze was directed more towards the remnants of their foes. "Why, you're a lady of many surprises, that you are!" He took a moment to crouch down, poke the corpses of the once-possessed wolves, before rising to follow his partner. No need; if the mountain doesn't go to one, one must go to the mountain. Fortunately - or perhaps unfortunately - this here mountain was more than happy to go to them. "Who dares," a voice boomed, before Snow was even able to touch the handle of the door, "to enter my lair?!" Jackal snickered uncontrollably; the voice was definitely magnified by magic, but for what it was worth, it was a really, really high-pitch voice. Slightly nasal, too. Swinging his sword in a wide arc around himself, the skeletal man prepared himself for whatever would be lying in wait inside by taking out a bottle of rum and chugging it down all at once. "Ahh, that was good! Alright, darlin', let's open the door and see what our little friend is getting themselves into." |

"You're no mean hand with a blade yourself." Snow responded easily, smiling at the dead man. He was, afterall, responsible for more than half the dead things on the ground. Snow sighed as the magically amplified voice, which sounded prepubescent in her own humble opinion, sounded on the other side of the door. She hoped intensely they weren't here to fight 12 year old who's main form of battle would be swearing they had had intercourse with their enemies mothers. The door was simple enough to open, not even locked properly. Snow didn't bother responding to the question. "I'm afraid 'little' may be the keyword there." She pushed the door open with little effort after a second of thought and entered. Inside was a dank smell akin to unwashed gym sox mixed with old pizza. This wasn't boding well. In the background the sound of skittering footsteps and a dim thumping of punk-emo mix music sounded. Snow could hear the low thrums of it despite her best efforts not to. Some things just shouldn't be mixed, she thought. She motioned for Jackal to follow her further into the dark room. No glow dust penetrared the gloom. There was however a soft glow of a lacrima screen towards the back. Snow sighed again, and headed that way. |

He was short, but his mass of slick black hair was large! He was deathly skinny, but the muffled sounds of the prisoners in his cages were loud! He had thick glasses, but that didn't deter him from reading the contents of that thick and ominous book in his hands by the light of a dim lacrima screen! His taste in music was poor, but his choice of clothing was most exquisite! He was- A necromancer! Sitting there upon his lofty throne, or at least, a wooden rocking chair with a few cushions thrown on it to make him look taller, the young man grinned a grin most foul as he observed the entrance of the intruders. "Well, isn't this nice," the necromancer announced, as his minions rose from the earth to defend their master. "I haven't had the chance to add actual mages to my collection - thanks for taking me up on the offer!" Jackal's eye darted about, observing the necromancer and his horde of the risen dead with- well, actually, with some degree of amusement. "Sixteen wolves, maybe forty bats, two cats, a horse, a lot of mice, and around five dead people," the skeletal man counted under his breath. "...But most of them are in terrible condition. I almost hate to say it, but- he's a poor necromancer." He sounded calm, but beneath his feet dark magic gathered - the bony one was planning something. "That is rude!" The necromancer retorted, his pale face reddening with rage. "Do you know how hard it was to get to this point? Also, you're not one of mine, why's there a talking skele- you're a necromancer too?!" The necromancer pointed first at Jackal, then at Snow, his reddish face returning to a ghastly shade as he utterly mistook the pair of intruders for competition. "You know what, I don't even care - my minions, capture them!" And they charged! Some of them. A considerable number of the forces were either too manged or in otherwise too poor a condition to actually move; some of them simply fell apart from the sheer effort of trying to do so. This was more common in the larger specimens, as over half of the wolf corpses simply dropped back down and broke apart quite quickly. Jackal, however, seemed to be absolutely delighted. "Alright, darlin', here's the deal - he thinks you're a necromancer, so this time you get to have the fun. Just play along. You go for the head honcho over there, let me take care of the small fry!" With that, Jackal slammed a hand onto the ground with a wild cackle, as skeleton after skeleton rose from the ground, each one fully grown and capable of facing the incoming hodgepodge of an undead horde. With the necromancer's face turning a shade lighter every minute, Jackal took the opportunity to slam the ground again, raising a pair of huge skeletal arms that latched together - a makeshift bridge, straight for the target! "Don't mind me, go on now!" |
