Julian couldn't help but be thankful for the Black Cat Lounge's entrance policy. He had been in Magnolia for nearly a day at this point, and had barely seen a handful of those Fairy Tail goody-goodies due to spending most of his time amongst the patrons of the Black Cat Lounge. He stared into his tankard , contemplating the situation he found himself in. This was his fourth beer, but suddenly, he found himself not really in the mood for it. Perhaps it had been a mistake to start his day by getting drunk, even moreso now that he had made his decision. "I'm gonna haf'ta play the Hero again, innit I?" he mumbled to himself. Julian shifted on his seat, taking his wallet from his inner breast pocket and placing it on the bar. Spreading the pocket with his thumb and pinky, he pulled out several bills with his index and middle fingers. He counted out his tab, accounting for a fairly generous tip. The barkeep knew enough to leave him be when he obviously wanted it, so he figured that alone was worth the extra cost. As he counted out the bills, a flash of light dazed him for a moment before he was able to regain his bearings. He scratched his chin as he glanced around the room. The place wasn't exactly packed, but there were definitely a few interesting looking people and... not-people seated about. He clamored out of his seat, feeling steady despite having already finished a few drinks. He wasn't a lightweight, that was for sure, but he knew that if he drank any more, he'd end up not being in any condition to work. "Oy, Barkeep," he called as he passed, "Money's on tha table, then. I got some work ta do." The light outside seemed too bright, causing Julian to shield his eyes, squinting against the sun. He grumbled a bit as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small package marked "Acalyphan Fortunes." He flipped open the lid, clamping his teeth onto a cigarette. He patted his coat for a moment before remembering his lighter was in his pants. Julian tried to brace the flame against the wind, but quickly gave up on it, turing his back to the street before flicking on the lighter. |

As the stranger left, Syeena and Agil was left alone for now. He paid for his drink and left, as the two continued talking. "Word on the street is, he will come out at night ato hunt down mages. And from what I hear its some strange-ass religious following. Something how magic is a curse, and using magic to remove it. Messed up, if you ask me," Agil shared with Syeena as she was listening. "Wait a minute, your not gonna try to actually BE BAIT for this guy?" Syeena shrugged, considering the fact. "Ideally, no. But if the situation arises, I just might have to," she said. Agil groaned, not liking the idea of where it was heading. "I'm gonna smoke this bastard out. So I'm not afraid to get a bit close. After all, I will have Hex with me," she countered. "Just don't get yourself killed, please," Agil argued and let it go. Syeena was always taking risks like this, and he knew he shouldn't worry about her so much. "Don't wanna lose my best customer," he said with a weak smile. Syeena smirked, and slid out from her stool to head for the door. "Come on, Hex. We got work to do..." Meanwhile outside, the street lights were beginning to light up and the sun was starting to set. It was becoming closer and closer for the time when the festival would start... and the killer would very likely come out. |

He was just about to get started when some girl brushed past him and into the Black Cat Lounge. Instinctively, Julian checked to see that his wallet was still in tow, a holdover from when he lived in Acalypha. his fingertips touched leather, and Julain breathed a sigh of relief. He was never the type to pickpocket people, he didn't exactly have the nimblest of fingers, but that didn't stop him from thinking about it every time he nudged up against some random passer-by. In this case, it appeared that the 'culprit' wasn't a pickpocket, just that she was- "Rude." he spat, dismissively. He quickly got back into stride, trying to recall what the papers had said about the body that was found the morning before. It was a woman, mid-thirties, a non-affiliated mage of moderate power. She was discovered in an alley a few blocks from here, on the back streets, completely dessicated and, upon further investigation, drained of any latent magical energies. Julian shuddered at the thought; he couldn't think of a worse way to go. He took a long draw off his cigarette before flicking the butt away. "Right," he affirmed in a puff of smoke, "This looks like tha' place." The yellow tape still cut the alleyway off from the streets, the area beyond was dark even in the afternoon. Julian could see why this would be the perfect place to commit a crime... it would be almost pitch black at night. He tossed his gaze from side to side before yanking down the tape once he was sure that no one was watching. The tape fluttered to the ground, allowing the Thief passage into the crime scene. He looked around for a few moments, a point of note quickly becoming apparent. "No blood," he breathed, "He either didn't kill 'er here, or else he dinnae use any weapons..." He wasn't exactly sure what he was looking for... something that the knights missed? It wasn't like he had the most faith in the law enforcement, they'd let the likes of Moreau and Callahan to slip through the cracks. It didn't help that Julian himself was a career criminal, and he'd only seen the inside of an actual jailcell once. No, there was more here... Julian knew it. |

Lost in her deep thought and unending boredom, Iria's mind starts to drift away under the sway of the slow and soulful beat coming from an old music player next to her seat. The glowing purple lights enhance her mood and the little witch end up thinking about the recent murder case. The thought of people ending each others life was a common stereotype of revenge and psychopatic behaviour, yet the recent victim -while still count as a perfect medical operation- was treated quite inhumane. She remembered each detail of the crime scene which the girl herself witnessed from the side. Iria took another sip from the bartender's special cocktail, but the alcohol barely gets her. Her mind were still clear like a calm lake during spring time. Eyeing every single person inside the longue only to stop and stare at the mysterious girl and her cat, again. There's obviously something about the girl and her guts tell her that her existence might lead to another 'fun' case. Iria grins, this might be a good chance for a change, a variation to fill up her boredom rather than a constant night of hunting men. As she focused her attention on the girl from the corner of her eyes, the mage girl leaves. Iria quickly chugged her tasty brew like it was nothing more than a glass of water and whistles for the waitress. Her small hand reach for her back pouch, grabs a few jewels and slide it on the table, not even counting the bills. She hastily move her feet as the black hair girl walk through the front door. Iria follows. Its already dusk when she left the building but she barely care for the beautifull scenery of the town. However, one thing that she noticed, and it was the smell of bloodthrist lingering in the air. |

Agil was baffled when another customer came and asked him about the mage killer. It was an interesting development as Syeena was on her tail as well. But it could cause trouble. For one thing, he didn't know this younger girl named Setsuna, and was unsure why she was seeking the mage killer. It very well could be something that would get anyone else killed. "Uh... " Agil said, wanting to see if Syeena could keep an eye on her if she intended to search for the mage killer-- but Syeena had already left the Black Cat. This worried him if random people were out looking for this killer, for whatever their reasons. "Well um-- thing is you missed someone who is looking for him too. I assume such a sweet girl like you is not mixed up with this, but if you are trying to hunt him down-- you'll find a girl searching for him. Black hair, glasses with a funny looking black cat with wings. Ya can't miss her." He said, tryind to direct her to SYeena. If anyone could keep her out of trouble from getting killed, Syeena could. He would leave the bar-- but due to the dimensional magic to keep the Black Cat connected to many openings in Fiore, he couldn't leave it. After all, he was strictly neutral when it came to certain affairs. Meanwhile as dark was coming, the others were searching for their own excitement or dangers. Syeena however was on the search from a more stronger vantage point. Above. Syeena now used Hex the flying Exceed cat to fly about. It felt witchy in itself to fly about in the moonlight-- oppose to riding a broomstick cliche of witchcraft. However, they were looking for the mage killer as well. Down below as the strange girl Ira and Julian looked around, they would be at risk of the mage killer's possible plot. As they moved around-- someone was stalking around the allyways. Even as the festival was going on, there was plenty of opportunities for the worst to happen! As Julian was about looking around -- a shadowy figure emerged from the corners of the ally. "Excuse me?" a voice said to Julian, possibly startling him. "Are you lost?" It was a STRANGE man! Rather a friendly looking one. He wore a black jacket with the half right side open. He appeared very normal almost while sporting a cheerful smile on his face. He had short grey hair and red eyes. But the fact he seemed a bit odd in his cheerfullness made him come off a little creepy. He approached Julian with every intent of getting to know him more. |

"By The Unseen!" he gasped, clutching at his racing heart, "Ya scared the hell outta me." He shook it off quickly, his left hand still jammed into his pocket. He may only have one hand, but he didn't like to advertise it, especially since he still carries around two swords. Some people would take that as a cue to make a joke, or ask a stupid question. Still, he had been asked a question, and it would be impolite, maybe even foolish, to simply ignore it. "Lost, nah." he said, "I was just lookin' for me mate, Draven. He was supposed ta be meetin' me around here, but he hasn't shown yet. Figured he might be lurkin' around, waitin' to surprise me." He laughed a bit, trying his best to embrace the story completely, "The freak loves the holidays, loves scarin' me too. He'll prolly be pissed ya beat 'im to it." Julian looked around a bit, still trying to find his 'friend' who 'was probably somewhere around here.' After a few moments, he shrugged, apparently giving up for the moment. He turned back to the man who'd seemingly shown up out of nowhere, noticing for the first time just how strange he seemed to be. He could tell for sure, but Julian could have sworn that the stranger hadn't taken his eyes off of him. Worse still was his smile, which frankly, was starting to creep Julian out. "So..." he probed, "You know anything 'bout the tape back there? Looks like someone tore it down, figured it might'a been 'D,' but..." "Wait a minute, what even happened in here? Someone get mugged or somefin'?" Julian figured that getting another take on the story might be beneficial. The story in the paper had been pretty antisceptic, and Julian figured that a local might be a better source than some reporter, at this rate. Besides, it was best to feign some level of ignorance, lest this guy turned out to be a Knight looking to keep Nosy Neds out of official business. Still, that look on his face... nah, this guy didn't seem like the type. Knights normally ended up being gruff assholes who can't take a joke. "Ah, where's my manna's?" he added, "Name's Jackson. Jackson Moreau." |

The air was heavy, while not a straight forward terrifying Iria can already feel the horrid tension that come along with the slow emerging fog. What she found a few meters in front of her was a sight of a horror flag point, a young girl with black hair and a creepy mysterious person which at a short glance had caused chill crawling down her spine. She had thought about interupting their eerie confrontation and warn the girl about the man possibly being a serial killer. However, a short burst of logical thinking had caused her to hesitate and decide to hide behind the corner. Yes, what if the man end up as the real killer? Wouldn't that just blow a good chance for her to actually catch the murderer? Her sense of justice, while it was a derrange lunatic of her own desire and ego, in such time can be a straight forward and uncompassioned. Her little mind speaks the devils word, let the girl be the victim of her success. But to the little ambitious Iria, its just a one sided achievement, so where's the fun in that? For now, Obeserving was the best method to get the job done. It is slightly frustating, but its not like she had another choice. The damp and moist air had took the most of the people away and it ease up all of the stealthly attempt to peek into the scene. The man who clad in full black attire had scream his identity as the mysterious serial killer yet, it hadn't been confirmed. His creepy acts towards the long black hair woman was totally creepy, although not an uncommon act during the halloween season, it still send a different vibe than just being playfull person. No matter how much urge she had to just burst into action and start yelling up the man's creppy ass. Iria couldn't help herself but to observe the beginning of a horror action movie from the corner eyes. So now, to play the waiting game and wait for the flag to trigger. |

(Note to Shuyin, Syeena is already airborne so now just moving on to the Killer part) As Syeena and Hex were up in the moonlight and out of sight against the sky, they were looking down at the streets below. While others were partying and having a merry time, but no sign of real trouble. After a bit of searching, Hex saw something. "Syeena, look! Down there!" Hex said, gesturing in the direction of something below. Since Hex couldn't point without letting go of Syeena, she looked in the direction she felt the cat meant... and she saw it. Down below were a few people in the allyway-- some of which she had seen in the Black Cat Lounge moments ago. All save one. A strange looking man in a black shroud. He seemed rather normal at appearance... But Syeena knew all too well appearances could be deceiving. Her senses tingled with danger. Her "Supernatural senses" she liked to call them. This guy was bad news, and may very well be her target. "Think its about time to raise the curtain, Hex," Syeena said as they began their descent. Back on the ground, the other people from around had walked in on the strange man, him exchanging pleasant glances at all of them. "Well, aren't you all lively youngsters? You shoudln't be here. You don't know just WHO is wandering around the streets at night," he said, the end of his words sounding a little sinister. He shrugged and looked at the people who had bumped into him. "Well this certainly has become interesting? Tell me, are you all wizards, by chance? I have been looking for some around here?" The more he talked, the more sinister he appeared. And it wasn't even by his voice or attitude, but how he was so casual for such a 'dangerous place.' "There are some bad magic users in these parts you know. You must be careful... or you might get hurt," he added. |
