"R-right, then, the Scarlet it is," Sarah stammered a little. Awkwardness wasn't something foreign to her at all, but it seemed to take on a whole new level when she was in front of people like Ashia. Sarah probably wasn't lesbian, but admittedly she had a soft spot for when other girls giggle. It was just so damn cute. That being said, she could totally go for tapping some ass, and now it was up to her to prove she liked guys too so she couldn't tag herself as being full-blown gay.

God dammit.

And as her beef bourguignon was placed gingerly by the waiter on the table, with the customary flask of cold water with a lemon in it being placed by the side between Sarah and Ashia, Sarah mumbled a soft "thank you," before addressing the girl seated across the table from her. "I don't know, really," Sarah frowned a little, giving a rather troubled expression. "I love to gain knowledge. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but sometimes it just feels like I'm being held back. It's funny how my passion drives me further into reclusivity yet I have the explorer gene within me. I want to explore the world. I don't want to be holed in forever. Learn things first-hand, rather than always through the pages and sometimes, even leaves. But I don't know. I don't really even trust myself with keeping myself safe outside - I'm not adept at magic at all, despite how well versed in its knowledge I may be. It's almost like I'm an armchair expert, sometimes. And when you're an armchair expert, people don't take you seriously."

"I know what I'm doing is meaningful. It's just that though it may be meaningful to others it's losing its own meaning to me. So I'm just aiming to try my very best to get strong. No matter what it takes. No matter the struggle I may endure. Otherwise I'll be caged in for the rest of my life, doing something I've lost passion in a long time ago."

"But never mind that now. The chicken parmigiana looks really good, great choice," Sarah commented. "Tuck in and enjoy!"

The brunette smiled gently at Sarah as she stammered, a mix of a sly grin and general happy smile. Sarah was cute after all, attractive even and her awkwardness seemed to enhance that cuteness and atmosphere that Ashia felt just by sitting near and talking to her. Was this a crush she was developing? She blinked and blushed a bit before taking another bite of her meal and listening to the blonde speak. Sarah loved to gain knowledge it appeared yet she felt held back, she wanted to learn by doing not by reading. Ashia nodded softly, understanding what she wanted. Sarah wanted adventure, a thrill, an experience. Reading to gain knowledge is fine but perhaps the best knowledge to obtain was by doing and it seemed that Sarah thought the same.

Ashia frowned softly as if saddened by Sarah's words at how her passion was losing meaning to her, that didn't sit well with Ash and even if they had just met she felt the need to encourage her or slap her out of her current way of thinking. The blonde changed the subject to the food and Ash bit her tongue for the moment, nodding softly before smirking and cutting up a piece, stabbing it with her fork and holding it. "It is pretty good, you can have some if you like." Ashia smirked in a playful but teasing nature and should Sarah want to try it, Ashia would hold the fork out and feed Sarah the piece of parmigiana.

Reaching for her glass, she took a sip of water and looked at Sarah. Ash couldn't bit her tongue much longer as it began to gnaw at her. "You seek adventure. You want to get out and see the world, experience the world with your own eyes not through the 'eyes' of a book. The pump of adrenaline as you take a jump." Ashia began to say with a warm smile, "And, I'd ... Love to help you, Sarah." She finished with a wider smile and a gentle look in her eye as she held her hand out so that if Sarah accepted she could rest her own on top of Ashia's. It was like the brunette giving her a helping hand instead of a handshake and Ashia hope she'd agree.

"The bourguignon'll fill me up just fine, but sure, may I have a bite... please?" Sarah was probably way too lucky that the fireworks display in the background had stopped for a little while - the temporary darkness that filled the area helped her to mask the redness of her face as she reached out her mouth to capture that little piece of parmigiana. And Ashia was right - the parmigiana was pretty good. "T-thanks," Sarah stammered, before offering Ashia some of her own. "You can have some of my bourguignon too if you'd like. Pretty darn excellent, the way they did it."

"I'm longing to be able to roam free, explore the entire world, and become strong on my own power, and I'm not even strong enough to become strong to begin with," Sarah lamented, "It's the standard Catch-22 example. Original example of Catch-22 though, was the logical argument of the elite soldier and psychiatric evaluation - to avoid being sent on highly dangerous missions he had to request for psychiatric evaluation, but if he were truly insane he wouldn't nave needed evaluation since he would have gone on the missions without making an effort to seek psychiatric evaluation, which would have meant he wasn't insane anyway."

And with that, Sarah could now be able to attach the [/nerdy] tag.

"S-sorry."

To be honest, what Ashia said next would have brought Sarah instantly to tears considering how instantly helpful she had been despite what Sarah had been through - but it was at night, no one would have seen the tears running down her cheeks, and all that would betray her elation would be the soft sniffle Sarah had that punctuated the entire conversation.

Reaching out her own hand to meet Ashia's, Sarah clasped the girl's hand and could only squeak out a strained "Thank you," to the other girl before nodding to hide her tear-smeared face from the girl just across the table from her.

Ashia smiled as Sarah accepted the offer for a bit of her meal, smiling she lifted the fork with a mouthful of the parmigina and essentially fed Sarah the bite. Smiling before she nodded softly to the offer of trying the bourguignon "Sure, I'd love to try some" Ashia said with a light blush on her cheeks as she leaned over a little to sample a bite. It smelled amazing and tasted just as amazing, the brunette returning to her seat with a light blush on her cheeks as she listened to Sarah go on about something. Catch-22? Ashia had never heard of that though Sarah went on to explain what it was and Ashia nodded along, even if she didn't fully understand it she got the general idea behind it.

The blonde went on to apologize afterwards, perhaps she thought she'd gone on too much. Then Ashia spoke and left her hand out and she felt the gentle warmth as Sarah accepted and clasped her hand. Sarah spoke with a bit of a squeak, was she upset? That's when Ashia heard a sniffle and smiled gently, she stepping out of her seat and walking around to Sarah to give her a gentle hug with a hand gently stroking her hair. Perhaps it was a bit bold of her to do such a thing but it seemed that Sarah really needed it and Ashia would have done it whether the girl had said no. Plus Sarah was cute, but that was for another time. "It's alright Sarah, no need to apologize." Ashia said softly before crouching down to look Sarah in the eyes.

With a warm smile, Ashia looked at Sarah and simply said. "Why don't we start, right now? Why don't we dine and dash." Her voice was low enough so that only Sarah would hear and she gave a small grin to Sarah with a bit of a chuckle, Ashia did mention getting a pump of adrenaline and something like a dine and dash would perhaps be a good starting point. "Of course, we don't have to and I don't do it myself however in this case you need some cheering up and adventure. Plus, I'll be here with you holding your hand." Ashia then continued before she realised what she said at the end and did a bit of a double take, she didn't mean it in a bad way but more of a ... Oh geez, well done Ash.

Raising her spoon with a mouthful of the bourguignon the blush on Ashia's cheeks were reciprocated with an even redder blush on Sarah's cheeks. Okay, this settles it, she was definitely gay.

And it was fortunate in fact that Sarah was actually a girl and that yuri's way more shipped universally than yaoi. It was also fortunate that Sarah was a girl because she could then cry her heart out without any social repercussions. Thankfully Ashia was more situationally aware than the people she had come across - being caring enough to give Sarah a hug and comfort. It was a little too fast to the casual observer but Sarah didn't mind at all. This was probably what a budding friendship felt like. A remarkable friendship or maybe even more.

The suggestion of dining and dashing was something that didn't really appeal to Sarah. After all, she didn't live in Crocus, the capital, the city with the highest real estate prices in Fiore, by chance. "You're wanting to get me into a rush, aren't you?" Sarah had to question Ashia first, also out of earshot from everyone else in the area. "We don't have to. I'd rather not, anyway, but if you're up for playing along just run when I do."

... holding... hands?

Sarah totally turned beet red and figuratively steam started to pour out of her ears and other vents on her head. This was getting way too hot for the situation it was pertaining to. Way too hot. Sarah'll actually have to watch herself when they check in at The Scarlet later that night.

"Ah, ici, garçon," Sarah had raised her hand to call for the waiter's attention, making a small hand movement in the air to signify that they were ready for payment. The waiter who attended to them had a very standoffish posture, and had a patently obvious disinterested demeanour when he plopped the payment details on the table. This immediately ticked Sarah the fuck off, who paid a big enough sum that the waiter had to head back in to retrieve change, which added additional journey time and worsened the waiter's mood considerably. A scowl on Sarah's face slowly morphed into a smirk as a glint could be seen in her eyes.

Sarah calmly took back the change she was owed from the waiter - although the waiter plopped the payment and the receipt in the same manner. This guy was really asking for it.

"Ah, va te faire enculer, petite merde," Sarah swore at the waiter, before grabbing him by the collar. Expecting Ashia to back her up, Sarah dragged the immobilised waiter over to the river bank and forcefully threw him off firm ground.

Splash.

"Adrenaline's up for today," Sarah told Ashia. "We better run now."

Smiled as she ate the mouthful of bourguignon, her cheeks closely resembling Sarah's own as her lips slid off the fork and she began to eat the piece of food before swallowing. Though soon enough, Ashia was hugging Sarah who sat and seemingly welcomed the hug, of course her suggestion of dining and dashing was responded with a no which she didn't mind. It wasn't something Ashia would do herself but it seemed Sarah understood why she suggested it and she nodded with a bit of a smirk at her question. "That's fine, oh got a bit of a plan?" Ashia replied in kind with a smile before she gently let go of Sarah, though a little reluctantly as she enjoyed the hug quite ... A lot.

With a gentle smile she sat back down and finished off what she could of her meal before Sarah gestured for the waiter, who had served them earlier. He was much more of a grump at this stage, was the festival night taking it's toll on him? Or had something else happened to make his sudden drop in mood. This irked Ashia somewhat but she didn't want to say let alone do anything to make Sarah think differently of her. Though just by looking at Sarah's eyes, Ashia got the hint that she too was also annoyed by the waiter. Sarah payed for their meals which was nice of her but it seemed she gave the waiter too much money and so after his grumpy acceptance of the money he went off to get the change.

After a moment or two he returned and what happened next had Ashia in a bit of shock. Sarah said something before she grabbed the waiter and began to drag him away though it seemed she had some difficulty in doing so and so Ashia jumped up from her seat to help her and before she knew what was happening, they were dumping the waiter into the riverbank. Sarah made a comment and Ashia just looked at her before she nodded and grabbed Sarah's hand and off they ran.

The brunette had no idea where she was going but all she knew was that she was holding Sarah's hand and running away with her, maybe not to anywhere nice but it sure did feel nice even considering the circumstances. Ashia took a sharp turn and kept leading Sarah and them away from the incident and after another turn or two she stopped and breathed heavily for a moment, still holding the blonde's hand as she turned to face her with a wide grin. "Well, that was quite the adrenaline ... Didn't know you had that in you, you're quite full of surprises, aren't you?" She said with a hint of a bit of flirtiness at the end of her sentence. It was a bit darker at this point but the festival still sounded in full swing with flashes of lights in the sky from the fireworks and the odd shout or addition of music being played.

"Oh, naturally." Sarah had to reply casually, as the waiter was about to arrive. "Just play along."

And of course after Ashia had aided her with taking care of that waiter, the both of them had to dash. Of course, they had to bomb down the streets and take a dive into a side alley - not the best of ideas considering they were, as you would expect, dark alleys, and dark alleys in the city were always a bad idea. Nevertheless, the two of them were probably strong enough to at least fend for themselves if they ran into any trouble.

The sweet girl Sarah was with had an even sweeter smile, a grin even, as they sat in the darkness, hidden from plain view. "Hey, I do mine," Sarah replied. "Just my own way." Laughing with whatever breath she had left Sarah savoured the feeling of exhilaration as she considered what to do next now that they were trying to avoid whoever was chasing from the bistro.

"The Scarlet now, eh?"

Still rather familiar with the roads and the directions to the different places they wanted to go Sarah made her way out, with Ashia not far behind, onto the street running parallel to where the bistro was located, however there were 3 more roads running parallel between the two. So they were 4 blocks or so away from where they were probably searching, and the street they were now on was aptly named Scarlet Walk. This was the road running perpendicular to Emerald Boulevard, and The Scarlet was strategically located right at the junction between Emerald Boulevard and Scarlet Walk. They were pretty much only a 5 minutes' walk from where they were to the hotel.

As they walked into the lobby, Sarah left a piece of identification on the counter, as well as a sizable amount of jewels. This was a fairly big sum, though, but it was worth it for a friend. "Room for two, one night, suites, non-smoking, ideally above the 40th," Sarah stated.

And when the two of them got their room keys and their breakfast coupons, they were ushered over into a lift which brought them straight to the 47th floor, without stopping for anyone in between.

Sarah, having swiped her key card at the door handle, opened the door to a incredibly spacious area, a king-sized bed, a 55-inch TV, and an entire kitchenette worth of cookware and amenities. The fridge was stocked to the brim, and everything inside was complimentary.

The bathroom had a really large jacuzzi that could fit 5 people easily, stocked with all the toiletries that they could ever have wanted. Lotions and scented candles? They had those, too.

Ashia let out a few deep breaths from the run, she was fit but she hadn't expected to be running that fast in this 'new life' of hers. But she enjoyed it, that feel of adrenaline and perhaps even more so because of the cute girl she was with. Ash let out a chuckle of laughter with Sarah as she spoke as they recovered from that little ordeal before Sarah mentioned the Scarlet. Ash nodded and took a chance, she looped her arm around Sarah's and smiled softly. "Lead the way then, cutie." The brunette said, her face rather close to Sarah's own, some space between them of course but it would be enough to show a bit of intimacy from Ashia, though her cheeks had reddened slightly it was what you could say was an adorable blush.

Sarah then began to lead them, with Ashia holding onto her arm gently as they walked towards the hotel. It seemed to be a short walk, though Ashia was happy and it felt nice to hold Sarah's arm like this even if Ashia was being a bit bold and even daring but that was just her at the end of the day and she just decided to take the shot with Sarah and hopefully Sarah would too. The two of them arrived in the lobby of the Scarlet, which was rather impressive, Ash hadn't seen a hotel quite like this. Sarah took charge of this and got them a room before placing quite the amount of jewels on the desk as payment. Ashia eyed the pile and felt a bit bad about just how much this room would cost for the night. She couldn't just let Sarah pay for their room and expect nothing in return! No, Ashia would would repay her somehow.

They got their keys and even some breakfast coupons and were soon off to the elevator and to the fourty-seventh floor and their room for the night. The blonde opened the door and revealed the room. "Holy shi-" Ashia began to say as she entered before cutting herself off infront of Sarah, again, she didn't want to come across as being too rude. She let out a bit of a giggle as her eyes soon wandered to the single bed in the room, a king-sized bed at that. At this point, Ash was a bit flustered at the idea of sleeping in the same bed as Sarah, although she did like the idea ... Perhaps a bit too much.

"S-so .. Err, want to watch a bit of TV on the bed then?" The brunette asked, not entirely sure what to do now that they were in their room for the night but watching some TV didn't hurt, right? And it was something casual and friendly? Right ... Right?!

Something was wrapping around her arm.

Something was wrapping around her arm.

Sarah, having been given a few moments to figure out what exactly it was wrapping around her arm, grew the reddest she had ever been in a long, long time. The last time she had topped that record was back in the days of puppy love. No, not actual puppy love, just the innocent love that most children had experienced before. Even then, Sarah was pretty certain that was with a girl as well, so she had quite a lot to do to prove she wasn't full-blown gay.

... it doesn't get any easier for Sarah, does it?

As the brunette girl Sarah was walking with cosied up with Sarah, the golden-haired girl had a face that was pretty much perfectly reflecting the setting they were in at that point in time. On Scarlet Walk, towards The Scarlet.

And in need of hyperbole, one could cook an egg on Sarah's reddened face - steam could almost be seen venting from her nose and ears. If this were a comic, there'd also be the sounds of a choo-choo train somewhere in the distance just for the comedic effect.

Not that she didn't like it, mind you. It was simply a little too early on in their friendship, and it caught Sarah unawares - but if Ashia wanted their friendship/relationship to progress that fast, then by all means.

When they got up to the room, however, the surprise shown by Ashia was palpable. Whatever Ashia wanted to say, she cut off as soon as she realised how rude it might have been.

"Holy shit, indeed," Sarah smiled. Sarah herself was no stranger to expletive exclamations, having been a regular user of those herself. "Funny thing is, this room is actually way more affordable than in Crocus. An entire month here is barely twice the average monthly rental payment for a smaller apartment in the capital, and considering you get all these amenities here it's way more worth the money than the capital."

"Sure thing, they offer Netflix as well so we could Netflix and chill after a long hot soak in the jacuzzi. What say you?"

Ashia let out a giggle as she watched Sarah's reaction to the brunette looping her arm around hers, the blonde's face reddening far much more than before. She'd taken Sarah unaware but it was cute how flustered she'd become and so Ash decided to relax her grip on Sarah's arm, so it was just loosely looped. The two continued to walk to the Scarlet like this before they had acquired their room and went up the elevator to see their room. As Ashia had began to speak, Sarah had cut her off and said exactly what the brunette was going to say. She let out a bit of a chuckle before listening to Sarah explain how it was cheaper than the capital, if this was cheaper than the capital then what the hell did the capital look like?!

Sarah agreed to the TV on the bed before saying they offered 'Netflix' and that they could Netflix and chill? What the hell was Netflix and what did she mean? After a soak in the jacuzzi. She blushed and smirked at Sarah and gave a nod, "Sure sounds quite lovely." Ashia said before she moved to the bathroom door and gave Sarah a playful wink and she entered the bathroom and began to run the jacuzzi, though the problem being she had no other clothes or swimsuit so nude it would have to be. Bathrobes were in the bathroom so that was fine.

Ashia began to strip off her clothing as one usually does before getting into the bath or shower, or in this case a jacuzzi. Smiling she'd then slip into the jacuzzi and ease into the warm water and seeing as how the bathroom door wasn't closed then chances are Sarah would see the nude Ashia entering the water, though exactly what she saw was questionable but at this stage Ashia wasn't really bothered. She was a bit shy but overall they were just sharing a soak in the jacuzzi, nothing wrong with that at all. The brunette sat down in the jacuuzi, her shoulders just poking out of the water as she relaxed.

"Come on in Sarah, it's so good!" She called out to Sarah or said to if she'd entered the bathroom by now. It was lovely and relaxing and perhaps made more so by the cute blonde who was about to join her. Even if the tension between the two was building and their flirtation was growing, Ashia's cheeks reddening though it was a bit hard to tell if she was blushing. It was a perfect cover though.
