Despite Hex's and Emily's rejection, Free continued to play the 'lost dog' card. "Daw come on! I will be a good boy. I promise. I won't do anything bad. HOnest!" Free said, trying to plead to be let in on the fun. It wasn't like a vital mission, but just the party for watching scary movies. "Don't make me beg for a bone here?" Free's pleading was both pathetic and painful to watch for Syeena, causing her to sigh at the prospect of it. "Please don't tell me your actually going to let him in..." Hex asked, knowing the look that Syeena had on her face. With a sigh, Syeena rubbed her forehead and looked to free. "Fine, quit your begging. " she sighed. "You can come in. But cause trouble and its out on your ass!" Free jumped up with glee and let out a howl of delight. "Oh, thank you!!" he said as he hopped in. Agil watched as Free entered, and rolled his eyes. "Oh this will be an interesting night," he said and slowly walked in. As they entered, Syeena closed the door and pointed down the hall where the others were gathering. "Just make yourself cozy in the far room and I'll be there in a minute. " Syeena said to her guests as Agil took the drinks and snacks he got to the room and Emily could follow. At that time, Syeena looked to the end of the chathedral and saw her aunt-- Aunt Jeanne, a elegant woman with long white-blonde hair and stylish black suit. She was one of the clan's most beautiful and fierce witch. "Ah, hello, little one," Jeanne said as she approached Syeena gracefully. "You ready for the party? Remember, you are responcible to clean up once you are done," She said in a patronizing tone. Syeena rolled her eyes. "Yes, Aunt Jeanne. I promise I will be keeping everything in order. They won't do anything bad. Most of them I hope," she said, having lingering throughts of Emily and Free causing trouble. "Oh and before I forget," Jeanne said as she took out a package from under her arm. "An early halloween gift from one of our sisters. Said it would be a hoot." she said and handed Syeena the package. "Oh, an early Halloween present? Interesting," she said as she took the package and opened the box-- revealing inside to be a strange doll. A classic doll that children girls played with. "Um.. not to be ungrateful but, a Molly Dolly? What ever happened to Gift Cards?" Syeena said disappointing. Hex hopped up on Syeena's shoulder to see, curious at the doll. "It could make a good scratching post?" Hex suggested. Jeanne just shrugged. "Well it is the thought that counts, Syeena. Anyway I must be off. Have fun tonight," she said and left out the door, closing it behind her. Syeena looked at the doll in her hands, it having curly blonde hair, plastic skin, a dress and strange blue eyes. She had grown up way beyond dolls now. "Sorry, dolly. Nothing personal, but more into playing with cards." she said. She put the doll down on a nearby table and went to check on her guests. |

There was something about the doll that Syeena had just set down. It was something that made Emily wonder if it wasn’t quite what it seemed. There was a certain...feeling...she got when she was looking at that simple doll but she was prone to finding the eldritch and bizarre in daily objects quite frequently. It was probably just the location and the overall sensation that she got from being around all of these magical people but she did take several glances back at the doll as she followed after Syeena. Those strange blue eyes had the illusory quality of following her around the room. She shook her head to dispel the sensation. There were times when her twisted mind was a liability. Rejoining the group, Emily noticed Free eyeing one of the attractive witches who’d joined the party. The redhead sidled up to him and poked him in the ribs as she said, “I can see that wolfy tongue just about hanging out of your mouth but I think that you’d get into trouble if your sneaky paws made their way near her. Remember what Syeena said? Behave or you’re out. Wolves are all the same!” This was just part of her usual need for entertainment. She didn’t really care one way or another what Free did but it was sure fun to needle him. She watched Hex flying around and said to the cat, “Well, well. You’re keeping a close eye out on that wolf too huh? Can’t leave him alone for a minute, can we?” Again she glanced over to where the doll sat on the table and those intense eyes seemed to be staring at her as she talked. It was a night where anything could happen and she kept wondering when it would. |

"Don't worry. I'm on it like a cat on a mouse," Hex said as they all entered the viewing room to see the movies. As they all went inside, Syeena was getting the last of the movies and snacks when she turned to the small hall table. The doll was there. It stood there as if someone placed it, when Syeena had left it on the table back in the main cathedral. Syeena however, wasn't scared or shocked by that. "Very funny, Hex," Syeena said as she walked over and picked up the doll. "Sorry, 10's a crowd, doll." she said and put it back where she had thought she had left it. The first couple movies were simple but classic horror movies. It was one of Agil's choices, called Frakenstein and The Birds. It was an interesting choice. Though not as chilling as hoped for. The next one they were watching was involving alot more terror and gore. Syeena did wish she had someone to hug, but after evading Free's little subtle offers-- she settled for holding Hex in her arms like she was a plush toy. There was popcorn and snacks that probably Emily would like as well, and every so often people would comment quietly about the movie. "Agil has the weirdest taste in movies. Attacking birds? I'm a cat. That's like ringing the buffet bell." Hex commented, as she had a piece of candy. Syeena was about to check on the popcorn, when she turned her head around to look at the other guests-- -- and saw the strange doll on the table behind the couch they were on. And it turned its head all on its own at Syeena and blinked. "AAAAAHHH!!!!" Syeena screamed, jumping out of her seat and plopping Hex on the couch. "What? What is it?" one of the girls in the group asked. Syeena was flustered. She knew odd things happened in this house but she didn't want to freak them out either. "Uh-- shoty romance moment. Bleh! Come on! " she fibbed. Free and Agil looked at Syeena, confused and perplexed as she took the bowl of popcorn. "Worse than cold popcorn. I'll be right back," she said, secretly dumping the popcorn on the floor and grabbed the doll. She used the bowl to cover its head as she hastily left the viewing room and to the kitchen next door. As she was alone, she put the doll on the table and looked at it. It seemed still, for the moment, but she was certain it moved before. "...You're just a doll," she talked to the doll face to face. It felt silly, but there it was. "You didn't smile at me right?" she asked. "I'm a Molly-Dolly," it said, lips moving, arms gesturing as it did so. All by it's self. Syeena's eyes widened as she looked around. "Hex, please tell me you're throwing your voice!" She said, a bit nervous. Right on cue, Hex popped out from the small collection of candy near the table. She had a few candy wrappers on her as she had been a bit messy. "Nowt me... twoo many carmels..." she said, her mouth sticky with caramel candy. Syeena looked from the cat to the doll-- who was now eyeing her with those strange eyes. This was NOT a good sign for her evening... |

Odd behaviour was always a cue for Emily to wonder what was happening and Syeena’s usual calm demeanour seemed to have been abruptly ruffled for no apparent reason. The unconnected screaming and the sudden (although mostly unnoticed) dumping of the popcorn was definitely indicating that the witch was experiencing some kind of upheaval. The redhead knew that investigation was the only option under the circumstances. When Syeena abruptly rose to her feet to “go get more popcorn”, Emily followed along and watched the fascinating situation with the doll unfold. After the little performance had finished and her friend was staring with horror at the doll’s eyes, Emily stepped up to stand next to the witch and said, “Well that’s definitely strange. Dolls really aren’t supposed to do that are they? I never really played with dolls as a kid but that would sound weird to me. I wonder if we should ask it something else? I’ll let you ask it first since you were the one that woke it up. Well, go on!” Although Emily was excited about the doll speaking, she decided that she would see how her magical friend reacted to it. It was something that she was drawn towards and perhaps the doll might contain powers or magic that would be useful. As far as the crimson-haired killer was concerned, she could let things unfold as they would. She was nothing if not an opportunist. |

"WHAAT!" Syeena jumped when she discovered that Emily was next to her. First the talking doll and the socially disturbed little girl was already starting to creep her out a bit. She didn't want anything bad to disturb the guests in the other room and the more who knew about this odd doll, the more things would go off track. "Ah. Um.. nothing. It's nothing. Just a magic talking doll like other magic toys. Hahaha..." she said as she took the doll and drove its head into the trick-or-treat candy. Hex jumped out of the little cauldron as she stuffed the doll head first in there, hoping to keep her quiet. "Why don't you go get some of that popcorn I was going to get and I'll meet you in the movie room okay?" Syeena tried to encourage her to go. She had no idea why this doll was acting on its own, but she didn't have the time to deal with it as she kept the doll from speaking. The candy easily muffled the doll's voice. After that, she took the doll, pulled her out of the candy and rushed her to the bread box in the corner. Opening it, she put the doll inside, face down and closed the door. She let a sigh as she got the doll in there. "Eh... let's just watch the movie for now and you can play with the doll later, okay?" Syeena told Emily. As she walked over to Hex, she leaned down and whispered to the cat. "Make sure she doesn't get out of there." she said. Hex blinked and nodded. "A little time in the box will do her some good," the cat replied in a sarcastic line from one of the movies. Hopefully Emily wouldn't poke at it and just move on. At least for the moment. However.. something happened. "Hey, why is the screen all messed up?" A voice said from the other room. "Oh what now?" Syeena sighed as she went to check on the next room. |

The chances of Emily leaving something like that doll alone were lower than Syeena could have imagined. There was no way anything so intriguing and potentially useful from a magical point of view could just be left alone. She faced Hex with a smile on her face and said, “Well now that she’s gone, why don’t we check this thing out? I mean how much can it hurt? I just want to know what kind of trick makes it work!” The redhead wasn’t sure if she should continue to push the Exceed cat or not. It was clear that Hex had some mischievious elements in his personality and Emily hoped that she’d be able to capitalize on those traits and get the cat to let her have a crack at talking to the doll. She was fairly certain that it would have interesting things to say to her. In fact, she was sure it might even have powers that she could harness. The biggest problem was testing the limits of Syeena’s friend and his loyalty to her. She also had the vague idea that if the doll was something that meant the witch harm, it couldn’t be a problem if she was able to protect Syeena. In fact, it might add to the way her magical friend thought about her. Right now, she had a vague impression that the witch considered her annoying and childish. Maybe saving her would change that. |

As Emily was in her thoughts apparantly, Syeena was back in the other room. She looked for the screen of the movie, and it seemed to flicker. There was some kind of problem with the screen as the picture had stopped and flickering of a strange image. It was hard to tell. "Screen started acting up a few seconds ago and now the movie stopped. " Agil said as he got up as well to help as Syeena approached the screen. Syeena tried to restart the magic projector, but for some reason it wouldn't work. It was odd as it wasn't responding to the reset button at first. And for a brief moment as she was close-- through the static, she saw something. A scary looking womanly face that seemed to just scream and look at her visually. Surpressing a creep factor climbing inside Syeena, she thought to try and unplug and replug the magic machine. "Agil, think you can unplug it and restart it." Syeena asked, to which he nodded in agreement. "If the movie is busted, maybe we can watch mine! I brought in An American Werewolf in London," Free offered with an upbeat tone. Syeena just shook her head but before she could comment to her somewhat oblivious and one track minded friend-- but then another guest had a complaint. "Hey, something is wrong with the doors. We were going to go out to get some air cause it was warm, but for some reason the doors won't open. Neither will the windows." That was odd for Syeena. Confused, she went to test the windows. They were locked tight, but as she lifted and even checked the locks... it was not locked but the window was sealed. Magically sealed. "Oh, this isn't good..." She said, turning to the others. "Um... just everyone relax for a bit. We will get the movie back up running in a minute. I'll handle the doors." Something strange was afoot in the cathedral. But what? |

Emily was wondering what was going on when the lights began to flicker on and off. At the same time, there was a banging on the breadbox. It started out faintly but began to increase in intensity until the door of the small container blew open and the doll leapt out. Before either Emily or Hex could respond, it had dashed across the counter and darted off into a shadowy corner. The redhead yelped and shouted, “Come on, Hex, we need to get that damn thing! What the hell’s going on around here anyways?” Just as she was about to run, Syeena’s comment about the doors came to her ears. She rushed into the movie room while instructing the Exceed cat to see if he could find and corner the doll. Emily stood next to her magical companion and said, “So what happened? Are we locked in here? If so, I hate to tell you this but that doll is loose and running around somewhere. I'm not sure if the two things are connected but it seemed to suddenly get a lot more powerful and energetic. We need to find it.” All sorts of noises were emerging from where Hex was presumably trying to corner the doll. The crimson-haired psychopath decided that it was time to go help the flying cat so she dashed back into the other room. Her keen emerald eyes were scanning the immediate area to try and establish the location of their strange doll-like creature. Whatever it was, it wasn’t good to be imprisoned in the cathedral with it. Even Emily had to acknowledge that even if she wanted its power, she didn’t want to be trapped anywhere with it nearby. Too many things could happen, things that would damage her. The redhead really didn’t want to be damaged if it was possible. |

(Pardon a bit of control here but I wanted to set things up just right for this based on the show I seen.) As Syeena and Emily had returned into the kitchen, Syeena sighed, confused why these things were happening. She passed by the table. "I'm a Molly-dolly! " the doll said in her usual upbeat tone, which was starting to become annoying. "I know..." Syeena said in annoyance to the doll. But then, she stopped, realizing the talking doll was the only NEW thing to be in this house that she didn't know. "Wait a minute! You're behind all this!" she indicated, pointing at the doll and standing beside it. She exchanged a glance at Emily and then back at the doll. "Why did you seal all the doors?" She then had further surprise on her as she slammed her hands on the table. "How did you get out of the bread box? Where's Hex?!" The doll's eyes merely glanced to the bread box's direction and soon they could hear a soft shuffling of noise in there and the sound of a cat like meow. Perplexed, Syeena walked over to the bread box and opened it up to look inside. To her confusion and disbelief, Hex was in there. The little black Exceed cat had her hat scrunched down by the box's height. She turned to Syeena, a razzled look on her face. "The... Molly... Dolly.. is ... BAD!" Hex gasped in fright, "Hid me behind the Pumpernickel and shut the door!" "Are you kidding me?!" Syeena said, more surprised by Hex than the doll, that Hex would be so scared. She shut the door on the cat, and turned back to the doll sitting their casually. "Alright, Molly-Psycho-Dolly. I don't know what you're up to, but if you don't unlock this house, I'm gonna throw you out in the middle of traffic!" The doll merely glanced at her. "Well.. as soon as you unlock this house," Syeena added. The doll just sat there calmly, smirking. "I'm a Molly-Dolly!" she retorted. "STOP THAT!!" Syeena said as she grabbed the doll and shook her violently. "Can't you say anything else?!" The doll answered again. "I'm a Molly-Dolly... And I'm gonna get you." the doll replied almost cheerfully. Syeena stopped and dropped the doll on the table. She looked at Emily and back to the doll, nervously. "That's... not what I wanted to hear..." she replied. |

In the instant that the doll refused to unlock the house, there was the sound of sharp metal on polished leather as Emily drew her black dagger. None of the child-like qualities that she sometimes exhibited were showing now. Her green eyes were flat and cold as she ran one finger down the serrated blade and calmly spoke to the doll. She said, “Oh you’re going to get us? I think that me and Blood’s Tear might have something to say about that. You might just be a doll but I bet you feel pain. I think maybe if I chop off that head of yours, you’ll be unlocking things for us.” The pale young woman advanced on the doll with her dagger drawn, but the doll had other plans. There was a tremendous whoosh and all of the burners on the stove came leaping to life. The doll continued on in its cheerful way and said, “I’m a Molly Dolly. If you hurt me, I’ll burn you.” This wasn’t really a fate that Emily wanted to contemplate so she sheathed her dagger and glared down at the doll laying on the table. She looked across to Syeena and asked, “So what do we do now? We can’t touch it, it has us locked in and it has threatened to get us. Any ideas? Hex?” It was a situation that the androgynous girl loathed. She had no way out through violence and none of her limited magic was really useful in this scenario. Feeling unable to change her circumstances was one of the most annoying sensations that Emily could think of and she was currently living it. |
