![]() [tabs][tab=Physical Description] Alice's very earthly vessel appears in and of itself half-there at any given time - perpetually in a state of partial being, drifting between states of being. Her frame is lithe and boylike, and the more obvious womanly features one might expect of a teenage girl are all but nonexistent upon her visage, lending her an androgynous appearance upon first glance - her face, hair, and limbs are the only areas that are obviously feminine. Her arms are spindly and quite delicate-looking, her hands callous-free, and her digits spider-like, as if they belonged to an artist, possessing fairly long nails that are more often than not painted some shade of either white, black, or red. Her complexion is best described as what a human might look like if all semblance of red has been drained from their body into their eyes - namely, she is an albino, as is characteristic of members of the Maximilian line. Alice's face is an odd thing. At any given point, it can either look exceedingly pristine, calm, and womanly - or, it could look intense, crazed, and boyish. The girl can wear these faces like a harlequin switches between masks, seemingly put into one or the other by utterly random circumstances. Her first face is what one might consider her "normal" face - feminine, quite wily-looking, and in fact rather pretty, with narrow pupils and perfect-looking brows to match a gentle yet clever expression. Her second face could be best described as her "unkempt" or "wild" face - very boyish and quite unreadable. Her eyes almost appear to change to an almost almond-like shape, her pupils dilating to a ridiculous degree so that they are completely visible (whereas the bottom half is the only visible half of her pupils in her first face). No matter what her facial features may be at the given moment, the contours of Alice's face remain the same. Her chin is perfectly pointed, rather than baby-like and soft, unlike her other sisters, and her overall face is heart-shaped, with a soft, small mouth and button nose. If one were to gaze into her mouth, one might notice that Alice possesses an unnaturally prominent set of canines, like most of her sisters, though not quite sharp or long enough to pierce flesh as effectively as a rusty dagger, unlike her younger sister. This may be because she has developed a sort of "teething" habit, wherein she tends to chew on certain objects like a puppy might in order to whittle down and dull her canines, lest she pierce her own tongue with them. Alice's hair is a strange beast that appears to have a mind of its own. It is quite short for a girl, barely reaching her chin, yet layered so that it still appears feminine as opposed to tomboyish. Naturally, as Alice is albino, her hair's coloration is a snowy white that might make her appear bald against a snowy background, had her skin not been equally pale. Indeed, if one were to view her naked with unpainted nails in the snow, she would be exceedingly difficult to make out in the backdrop (and exceedingly cold, more than likely) due to her distinctly (and oxymoronic) colorless coloration. The girl's hair also changes in multiple aspects on a day-to-day basis, going from light, fluffy, and well-done to ragged, unkempt, and draped over her head like a mop, with random strands flowing every which way.[/tab][tab=Clothing]Alice's attire on any given day depends entirely on her mood and the amount of effort (or lack thereof) she wishes to put in on that particular morning. Her wardrobe is sparse, but serves its purpose - function over form. Alice is quite different from her sisters in her not particularly liking dresses - in fact, she hates them, and won't be found wearing them to save her life. One could say she dresses in a boyish manner - she is fond of pants, dress shirts, vests, and thin jackets. Her clothing mirrors her nails in color - either white, black, or red - though red is generally left for small accessories or tertiary colors, as she is never seen with any major article of clothing that is completely red. The vestment Alice is most fond of is a loose white dress shirt which she was given by her brother once he grew out of it. The article itself is rather drab and featureless, worn and fairly wrinkled, with buttons missing in several place - it doesn't even have a breast pocket. The collar as well as the cuffs of the shirt have been fairly well-worn, and are much looser than they likely were when they were bought. Alice tends to keep this shirt untucked with the sleeves rolled up; it is large enough to just barely reach her thighs. Alice's second most-worn article of clothing is a pair of black dress pants that were also originally her brothers'. They are also fairly featureless and worn, but fit her form quite well. These pants have three pockets total - two in the front, and a left back pocket, which she finds quite convenient. Alice tends to wear these pants with the legs rolled up to about two-thirds of the way up her calves, allowing her legs to bend a little more easily. Alice owns various other bits of clothing - a pair of red suspenders that she will occasionally elect to wear if she's feeling in the mood, a red belt that she will only wear on Wednesdays for absolutely no distinguishable reason, a black fedora lined with red that the girl keeps with her at all times, and a pair of black dress shoes that she will sometimes entirely neglect to wear, all of which have been passed down from her brother. In fact, practically her entire wardrobe is composed of hand-me-downs from her brother. [/tab][tab=Accessories]Alice possesses a number of different accessories to go with her clothing - she will often use 5 hair pins to pin the hair normally covering her forehead up in a neat left sweep, arranging the pins to form the Roman numeral XIII. She also has red, white, and black nail polish that she changes daily.[/tab][tab=Extras]The scars one might expect upon the visage of a Maximilian are, surprisingly enough, rather sparse upon Alice. Her back is dotted with the occasional little scar, and the largest scar on her body is a medium-sized slash running horizontally across her left hip. However, taking place of the normal marks upon her spine is a series of little cross-stitches done in crimson thread traveling directly up her spine. These same stitches, albeit smaller, can be seen in the front as well, traveling from the center of her collarbone up to the base of here chin. Why these stitches are here, what purpose they serve, how she is still alive with these implants is unclear, and where else she may have these stitches is unclear.[/tab][/tabs] ![]() [tabs][tab=Overview]Alice's personality is as tumultuous as her face and hair - she has several facets of character that she seems to meld, switch, and mix on a daily basis depending on her mood. This often tends to botch first impressions due to her indecisiveness when it comes to her character, meaning one who meets her in a particular mood might be surprised to see her act like a completely different person the very next day. But regardless of this, there are a few concrete areas of Alice's personality that remain, such as likes and dislikes - as previously specified, Alice is not particularly partial to dresses or skirts; she prefers clothing that won't get caught on every little branch she runs past, thank you very much. She has a very strong aversion to bitter foods and medicine, as well as an intense dislike of all things medicinal - pills, solutions, needles, syringes, drills, and the like. If one were to so much as bring any of these within 5 feet of Alice, she will begin to kick, scream, cry, bite, and do absolutely anything in her power to get away from the horrid stuff. In all, Alice's general view is fairly indecisive - she does not have any particularly powerful religious beliefs, theories, or anything of the sort. Finally, it is worth noting that while Alice does not have many set beliefs, as mentioned previously - she does have a single rule: Do not harm innocents and children. So this, and expect to have your face rearranged on the spot, and much worse.[/tab][tab=Mixed]One of the key identifiable traits of a Maximilian - besides albinism - is mental disorder, and Alice is no exception to this. The girl suffers from Bipolar Disorder. This means her personality can completely flip, seemingly at the drop of a hat. Her brain has two opposite poles - Manic and Depressive, and her mental state is in a constant tug of war between the two, swinging in between one or the other, sometimes in the middle but never in perfect equilibrium. Her mood is more often than not a mix of the two poles, forever turning over like crashing waves. When she is not one or the other, Alice is still exceedingly odd in her own right. She seems almost feral in a respect, primitive, yet refined at the same time. She is not afraid to converse, but allows raw emotion to govern her actions rather than rationality. This means she is extremely impulsive, acting upon a whim, unable to control her actions. If she is happy, she will act rather goofy and excited, as if she were having a Manic episode. If she is sad, tears will flow like waterfalls. If she is angry, woe be unto the cause of her anger, because she gets very physical. In fact, when Alice is upset, it is best to lock her in a room lined with pillows and filled with small objects. Why? Because she throws shit when she's mad. And punches shit when she's mad. And headbutts shit when she's mad. Most of the time, when anger finds itself to Alice, the nearest object not nailed down will end up finding itself flung across the room.[/tab][tab=Manic]The first pole of Alice's mentality is the Manic stage. When having a Manic episode, Alice will become excitable, fast, and quite like a child. She is a chatterbox when in this stage, speaking almost too quick for one with a basic grasp of language to understand her, and talking ceaselessly, sometimes to herself. It is in this stage that the girl is in touch with the most raw of human emotion, exacerbating her already-wild emotional responses to absurd degrees and making her wrath all the more horrific. It is in this state that Alice is the most energized; she shouts more often than talks, runs more often than walks, and generally lets herself run wild on a whim. However, this is also the state in which she is the most emotionally vulnerable. Do something to upset her, and watch the room flood with tears. Anger her, and watch her rip you apart without a second thought. She rarely, is ever, sleeps during a Manic episode, and when she does, it is for very short periods of time. This mood occurs more often than a Depressive episode, occurring at least once per two days, and typically lasts no more than a day. As of yet, it is unknown what exactly triggers this state, and what ends it.[/tab][tab=Depressive]The second pole of Alice's mentality is the Depressive stage. When having a Depressive episode, Alice becomes withdrawn, muted, and irritable. She rarely speaks in this stage, and when she does, she speaks so softly that she is typically not heard either way. She almost appears to fade away from the world, having such little presence that it is quite easy for those who are occupied to simply forget she is there. She typically does naught but meander about aimlessly during a Depressive episode, sometimes neglecting to properly bathe or even feed herself, usually either sleeping or moping about. Alice has attempted suicide during this stage several times in her life. The girl can be very difficult during this stage, often refusing the simplest of commands simply because they are commands, and becoming upset almost on a whim. This mood occurs far less often, but lasts longer than a Manic episode, occurring perhaps twice or thrice a month and lasting about 3 or 4 days.[/tab][tab=Feral] [/tab][/tabs]![]() Edited by Mazohyst, Jan 19 2018, 05:47 AM.

![]() [tabs][tab=I: Love]This story starts on a cold, windy, stormy night in a hospital not too far from a particular mental asylum, in a fit of screaming, crying, and pain punctuated by thunderclaps, howling winds, and ceaseless raindrops pelting the roof above - it was as if Earthland itself were raising a racket. A baby girl was brought into the world on this tumultuous night. She was named Alice Emily after her mother - the two had gone through indescribable pain for her birth to occur, so it was only natural her mother be credited. After several hours, the newborn was ushered out into a lobby where three pairs of gleaming crimson eyes quickly rushed to their parents so they could gaze upon their baby sister, before being quickly shooed off so their mother could nurse Alice as the five were speedily hushed into a carriage and taken home through flooded streets. Alice was an animated little girl in her youth, always hopping about, never ceasing her talking, always ready to play. She was the only of the sisters to cut her hair short, reflecting her adventurous and slightly tomboyish nature. Little Alice's older brother would often take her with him (after much begging and exchanging of sweets) on miniature expeditions out to the vast forest in the family's backyard, coming back covered in mud and bruises, much to their mother's chagrin and constant worry, leading to very frequent scoldings from their mother and snide comments from their sisters about their dirty appearance over the dinner table. As concerned as her parents were about whether the girl would ever learn to sit down and shut up for more than 2 seconds, their concerns more or less vanished upon the birth of their final child - Cynthia. From the moment the child was born, little 4-year-old Alice was right up against the door until her father exited with the newborn in his arms, immediately giving her new sibling a kiss on the forehead and telling the baby she would protect her. Cynthia was born tiny - so tiny, in fact, that she was not expected to survive the night at the hospital. Throughout the entire night, Alice stayed by her newborn sister's cradle, willing her not to go. She didn't want to experience loss. She wanted her to stay. "Please don't go...mummy said you might leave. I'll sing for you, okay?" [/tab][tab=II: Lost]Alice was with her younger sister from the beginning. Every time Cynthia began crying, Alice would be the one to hurry to her mother and tug her sleeve, telling her that her baby needed something - even if she didn't know what it was she was crying about. As Cynthia grew old enough to walk and talk, Alice would be the one to play with her, teach her to play tag and hide-and-seek, read with her, do practically everything with her. Her parents hadn't the slightest clue why Alice was so attached to her little sister, but it wasn't as if they would complain. Finally, Alice had matured, it seemed. Gone were the days of having to clean her face of dirt and free twigs from her hair, as little Alice would only play with Cynthia right outside the back of the house, within view of the porch. It was a wonderful little relationship, even to the elder siblings, who had somewhat grown out of playing in the backyard by this point (though young Victoria would occasionally join the two in their little games), but still watched from the porch bemusedly. After 5 years of this, the two sisters had formed a bond not even their own parents had with them. Of course, their mother and father didn't mind this at all - what a wonderful little relationship these two had, indeed! On top of this, they were quite happy they did not have to constantly run around trying to keep the little ones busy - they had enough issues with the older ones as it was. The Maximilian line has been tainted with mental illness for generations - not a single member has been free of some sort of mental issues, some moreso than others. Alice's parents were victims of this as well, but had managed to have their issues sufficiently treated - and they wanted the same for their children. Gertrude was the first of the children to be diagnosed - at age 15, she was diagnosed with severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. She would wash her hands exactly 3 times per day at specific times, always counted her steps to ensure she stepped over an equal, even number of cracks on the sidewalk with both her right and left foot, always arranged her pencils in a specific order, and would separate her food into equal-sized portions before eating dinner, sometimes taking nearly 20 minutes before eating. Victoria was next, diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome two days before her 12th birthday. She developed odd tics in her speech and movement, as if she were a machine that constantly needed oiling. It was at this time that the odd happenings about the house - whispers around the corners, odd movement of objects, the disappearance of Gertrude's carefully-organized slices of bread (much to the girl's frustration), and other side effects of the little Cynthia's fledgling magic. Throughout all this nonsense, Alice seemed to be the only one who understood Cynthia's little world, knowing many of the more iconic characters - Bugsy and Jacques in particular - and being the only sibling who felt quite comfortable with Cynthia's odd nonsense. Finally, it all became too much for the hapless parents to handle. When Cynthia was but 8 years old, her mother and father made the hardest and most painful decision of their lives - sending Cynthia to a mental facility for treatment. The day was filled with anguish and torture - Victoria threw a tic-ridden fit as soon as the news was broken, Alice began to scream and cry loud enough for the entire block to hear. Even the normally-stoic older twins were visibly saddened by their parents' decision. The most difficult hour was that when Cynthia was finally taken away. Victoria broke down and began crying in her brother's arms. Alice had to be restrained by the wardens of the facility, screaming and begging them to just take her with her little sister. Gertrude and Wilhelm watched from behind their parents - Wilhelm in particular watched with cold fury in his eyes. Every sibling had their own breakdown that day. Even Victoria & Wilhelm. The latter, in fact, unfaltering as he normally was, had probably the strongest moment where his impulse overcame his logic - when he saw one of the women snatch away his little sister's bunny doll, causing her to begin crying. In a moment of blind fury, the nearly 6-foot-tall teenager let go of Victoria, charged forward in a moment of blind unadulterated rage, and socked the woman in the face hard enough to break his entire hand and send her through a window. Their parents were forced to pay damages and the hospital bill, and Wilhelm was grounded for half a year due to his lack or self-control. "KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY SISTER, WENCH." [/tab][tab=III: Loneliness]And thus, life went on in the Maximilian household. Though, moreso 'dragged along' that 'went on'. 6 months after Cynthia was taken away, Victoria, the lone sibling who had not broken down yet - the one who had never had an argument with her parents, ever - confronted her parents at midnight, telling them that she would not stay unless they brought Cynthia back from the asylum. When they refused, Victoria and her belongings had disappeared through an open window in her room. They never found her. Soon after, Wilhelm was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Pyromania after madly setting fire to his curtains. He, too, left 6 months after Gertrude did in the middle of the night with several pieces of his father's equipment. This left Alice, now 13, and Victoria, now 15. Alice's personality took an utter and complete 180-degree turn; she sulked endlessly, often found sleeping on the floor in the morning with her bed in shambles, and several objects flung across the room. She became rebellious, getting into frequent fights with her parents and running away from home for days on end, only to come back bruised and battered. She was taken to the psychiatrist, who diagnosed her with Rapid-Cycling Manic-Depressive Bipolar Disorder - the final sibling to be diagnosed with a condition. Victoria's tics progressively got worse and worse as the months went by, and in another few months, her parents sent her off to a professional institute where she could receive help. She was never returned. That left only Alice, the problem child, alone in the massive house, and four children's rooms empty, devoid of children. Soon after, the fifth child's room was emptied. Dear Diary: I can't take this anymore. Everyone is gone. Everyone. I'm lost. I'm so lonely. I hate Mummy and Daddy. I just want to die. Someone kill me. I'm leaving. I'm leaving, and whatever wants to kill me can go ahead because I don't. Care. Anymore.[/tab][tab=IV: Liberation]Heavy breathing. Shuffling of feet. Shouts. Run. Run. A whistle. Impact. Thump. Blackness. ...White walls, peeling paint...where the Hell am I? Is this some sort of...am I in a prison? Hey, what the hell? I scramble to my feet, turning my head wildly about the featureless room, a musty smell invading my nostrils and prompting me to snort outwards in an attempt to expel whatever muting stench this was, without much success. I look upwards, squinting my eyes as I stare up at a single, weak blue light fixture that looks almost as if it is struggling to illuminate what it can of my small cell with its pathetic light from the low ceiling. ...Cell? I quickly cast my gaze down to myself, and note (with relief) that my clothing - albeit rather dirty and wrinkled - is still on my body. Wait, don't they give you, like, rags and stuff in prison? Why would they let me keep my clothes? No, this isn't a prison. That'd make no sense. Perhaps this is some sort of detention facility? But why would they put me in such a place? Am I being detained for an offense? What sort of offense might I have committed? Gah, No point in attempting to figure out what this place is. I suppose whomever put me in here does not have the intention of keeping me here for eternity. I would much rather die of having a flower pot fall on my head than suffer such a fate. Oh? Speak of the Devil, there's someone at the door. I suppose I'll simply inquire as to why exactly I am here. Perhaps it is some sort of mistake. She keeps a sewing kit with red thread with her at all times, and often does random stitches in her clothing (and occasionally fingertips) for no apparent reason. Needless to say, the girl is very adroit when it comes to fishing, able to weave as if she were a professional seamstress.[/tab][tab=Like a Motherfucking Ninja]Oh. Oh. You don't even know. Alice is a master Hide-and-Seek player. Yeah. Yeah. That's right, motherfucker, she got them hidin' skills. Like BOOM, BOOM, BIBBITY POW and she's fucking gone. But she's not a rapper. Okay, seriously, it's not like she's a 007 agent, but damn if she can't hide really well. Toss her in a kitchen and she'll find somewhere to hide and some way to get into it. And once she's in? Hohoho, not a sound. Like poof.[/tab][tab=Eh, Just Walk It Off]While Alice's body itself may not be the most hardy of human vessels, Alice can take a lot of pain before submitting. This is most likely due to her treatment and the conditions she was subject to in Mercy, that hardened her into what she is now. Watch her trip and dislocate her knee on a rock, then just get up and try walking away like nothing even happened.[/tab][/tabs] ![]() Sources ![]()

[tabs][tab=Dragon Slayer Magic]Dragon Slayer allows the user, to a certain degree, transform their body into that of a Dragon. As a result of this, those with Dragon Slayer abilities are able to change their body to their own element, in both offensive and defensive styles. Because their own bodies can function as make-shift weapons unique only to themselves, Dragon Slayers are typically unarmed fighters who excel in physical combat and relying only with their magic. They can also consume external sources of their natural element to replenish themselves, although it has been demonstrated that certain foreign substances will substantially increase their power. They are also naturally immune to the effects of their own element that came from both their own person and those from other sources, but must consume it through their mouths if they are to actually absorb it into their bodies. Dragon Slayers also have an incredible sense of smell too. The Shadow Dragon Slayer is that which incorporates the element of darkness (and by extension, shadows) into the user's body. This allows the user to produce darkness and shadows from any part of their body, including their lungs, giving them the ability to, in essence, breathe a mass of shadows or the like. This also allows the user to consume external sources of darkness in the form of natural shadows or dark magic to restore their body to a healthy state, meaning they cannot use their own element to renew themselves. Magic rank is 1 (as you only have 5 in the magic stat and this ranks up as T1 magic. Need 10 for R2.) Shadow Glove - Starter doesn't get heals (unless it's sky for some reason.) -If you'd like to make this into a camoflauging effect, that is doable. In which case one part of the body at a time. (As in what you have now.) - has no CD Lucifer --Has neither duration nor Cooldown. |
