Daine watched as he was greeted with yet another surprise, it seemed like the talking hat wasn't the only quirk this guy had up his big transforming sleeve. "Now that's cool." Daine said, he'd seen people transform before but never like that, plus he'd been able to contain the exploding steak with ease, in Daine's mind it was pretty much going to be similar to the other explosion, which meant that this guy was either really strong or just very explosion resistant. "Can you dive to a depth of 100m too without being water damaged?" Daine asked inquisitively, making a conscious effort not to slur his words as the head bump started to make everything seem a little cloudy; nothing that would pass by quickly but for now it was noticeable. Blinking rapidly so that the four different sets of feet he was focusing on went down to at let two as his vision started to return to normal the werewolf started to think. "Hey, that guy stiffed me with a crappy steak." Daine said out loud, looking around to see that a few people had started to stir and generally people were dazed but not seriously hurt. "But I wonder what that would have don't in my stomach." Looking down at his abdomen he realised how attached he'd become to his stomach and all his inner organs and how crappy it would be without them. From some distance away some other explosions could be heard, from what Daine could gather they weren't destroying buildings but there was a good deal of force behind them; it was an odd turn of events, nothing he'd been expecting for the day but the young werewolf quickly returned to his normal state, this was interesting and who knew if he got to the bottom of the mystery he may be able to get something cool out of it. Composing himself he turned to the other guy. "You think we should have a look around to see what made my steaks just so explosive on the tongue?" Daine asked, hoping that his company would agree with him. From across the street he finally turned back to the butchers shop to see if anything else was glowing red and ready to try and take his head off, but surprisingly everything was in place besides the butcher behind them. Walking over and taking care not to step on any of the people who were lifting themselves up and getting ready to make sense of what happened, Daine noted that the butcher wasn't even collapsed on the other side of his stall. "Think we should check inside to make sure he is alright? Or at least help me get a refund?" The inside of the shop was still rather clean, having had all of his business outside of the day had meant that there wasn't anyone collapsed in here. The butcher panicked as he tried to unwind the key from the bundle of knick-nacks he kept in his pocket; this wasn't meant to happen, something had set off one of his steak bombs early and then the magical pressure had caused the rest to go off in some sort of chain reaction; this was meant to be his way to sneak high quality meals into the homes and stomachs of the richest around and then cause them to explode and exact his revenge. After finally finding the key, the butcher slid across the counter, inserting and twisting the silver handle of the lock around until a distinct click sounded and he was able to sneak off into his underground lair. With another click the door closed behind him; he'd have to make his escape soon but first he'd have to ensure his other meaty weapons on destruction weren't going to be unstable and explode like the previous one. He had to buy some time. |

Blitz tilted his metallic hand to one side, letting the blackened pile of what had once been steak slide across his palm, over the edge, and onto the ground, not even making a 'splat' sound, such was the degree of how charred it was from the explosion. Enclosing it to muffle the explosion probably focused the blast on the steak more than was intended, Blitz thought, though I hardly think he intended to 'reuse' an exploding slab of meat. Daine seemed very interested in his metal arm - the new one, that is, not the one he'd possessed since the moment they'd met - asking if he could dive to great depths without being damaged by the water. "Probably, though I haven't tried it. Being in full form would no doubt protect me from any water pressure at that depth, but being full metal, I would also sink to the bottom of whatever body of water I was in, though I have debated a water-exploration form. Never bothered to make it, though, as I don't really explore bodies of water often enough to merit something like that." "Well, there was that one time in the Icy Tower," Shoop pointed out. "And the arrival on that moon island where you decided to get there on your own power instead of traveling with the tourists." "That's only because the ferries going there were rather packed," Blitz noted, "But you do have a point. Perhaps I'll sit down and fully hash that idea out a bit later." A series of muffled thumps - oddly akin to the noise the steak had made when Blitz muffled the explosion from it - occurred throughout the square, smoke rising in a few places. "Looks like whatever caused you to almost collapse might have also caused your steak to explode. Either that, or the guy at that stall was doing a fair amount of business with his exploding steaks." "Even though it just happened, I'm still having trouble taking the phrase 'exploding steak' seriously," Shoop said, and Blitz privately agreed. Daine suggested they look into it, and Blitz nodded. "Yes, if he's been selling those all over the city, we should put a stop to that, if that's indeed the cause of all this. Be careful, though, if he can set meat to explode, that ability might not be restricted to slabs of meat intended to be eaten, so I'd advise against getting hit by any attacks he might send our way." They walked over to the stall, but the butcher was nowhere to be seen. "We should look for him, certainly, but I don't think you'll be getting a refund, though no doubt he'll be very surprised to see you in one piece, if he'd behind this." As they walked in, a door in the far corner of the room, one at the bottom of a small flight of stairs clicked shut, as they appeared to have just missed the butcher escaping. "Bastard's trying to run for it," Blitz cursed as he leapt across the room in one move, landing in front of the door and yanking on the handle - nothing, as it was locked. Blitz transformed one arm again and plunged his fingers into the mortar around the door - the door itself was sturdy enough, but the frame was less stable, and crumbled like chalk as Blitz dug into it, before leaning back on that one shoulder and ripping the door from the frame, dropping it onto the floor before speeding down the tunnel behind the door. |

“You two talk more than me.” Daine said blinking at the conversation between master and his magically infused talking head accessory. “And I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. But I like it.” He said, grinning like an idiot at the thought of this strange pair becoming a trio for now with the goofy werewolf sidekick. In his distraction at the idea he’d missed the epic entrance of the Transforming metal handed guy to the butchers shop and the easily made joke of renaming whatever the ability was to something about being a tin opener; if Daine had realised what had happened he would have surely wept at how good an opportunity he had missed. But too distracted with the self-indulging ideas of a name for the trio he went by blissfully unaware. “Tssssh.” The butcher wheezed, hearing the ruckus above and then the opening of the door by sheer force, it was evident that the meaty mastermind had wanted that to buy him a little more time, at least twenty or so minutes; but now he was going to have to up his plan to the next stage in order to save himself from the likely knight incursion. “They won’t be able to handle this next part then.” The butcher said, flicking a few switches on the wall as he ran down the corridor further; the smell of meat permeating the long and cursing cold room; to one side racks and racks of hanging animal carcasses ready to cut into things such as steaks. With that the butcher slid a door closed and continued onwards down the corridor. Laughing to himself as the carnage to come. “Hello?” Daine asked, spinning around to see that he’d simply been standing there by himself, placing his hand on his own forehead in a sign of embarrassment, the werewolf entered the shop and looked around to see where his mechanical friend had vanished. The clear area of destruction in one part of the shop quickly gave him clues and within moments he was stood on the staircase heading down to follow Blitz. “Don’t go too far without me.” Daine said, looking over the wall to see the numerous cuts of meat hanging freely. If the circumstances had been different he would have perhaps sampled the wares but last time the steak exploded with enough force to knock out most of the street so he thought he’d pass. “That would be one stomach ache I wouldn’t want.” Daine chortled at, thinking to himself moments later how bad the joke was and hoped his new friend hadn’t heard. From the other end of the corridor, the meat hanging up started to rattle, the chains moving and swaying from side to side as though something large was walking around. In the cold misty frost that covered the sides of the corridor it was hard to see past the division of dead animals but from the sounds of heavy growling and the noises of something moving it was clear the two plus hat of them weren’t alone. The large blue furred clawed hand curling past one of the carcasses and ripping it to ribbons simply reinforced the fact. Daine’s first instinct was to turn and run; but it was only then he realised that a large divider had slid up behind him, trapping himself and blitz in with this creature he was sure was the same sort that his steak had been made from. “I hope you don’t just deal with explosive meats, but living ones too.” Daine whispered, hoping that any deity that existed that wasn’t eternally pissed off with him would spare his life. |

"We tend to chat alot - not much point in me being able to chat if I never bother to say anything," Shoop pointed out. "Fair enough, even if I sometimes wish you'd keep your mouth closed when the situation merited it." Blitz noted with some reluctance. Running down the pathway that the butcher had fled down after Blitz ripped the door off its hinges, Blitz heard a small series of ratcheting noises - mechanical noises, almost like clicks, as if some other defense had been triggered. You'd think he would have set all his defenses up the moment he heard the steaks explode, if he thought someone was going to come after him, Blitz thought. Either he didn't expect any survivors to pursue him, or he never expected to have to activate his defenses this early on after his explosive sale. Blitz ran farther down the tunnel to find the door to something that resembled the door of a meat locker of some kind, but Blitz didn't slow his pace - if it was a door and the only way to continue, and the butcher wasn't standing outside it, it meant he was inside and trapped, or there was, more likely, another exit from it somewhere on the other side of this first door. Not alot of room to work with in this tunnel, Blitz thought, so instead of trying to rip the door from its hinges the same way he had the first door, he simply reeled back with a giant metal fist and slammed it right into the center of the door, creating a massive dent as the door was shunted into the room, it's hinges torn like wrapping paper as it slid across the floor - unusually far, even for how hard Blitz had struck it, as it slid almost across the entire room, despite it's weight for being a thick metal door - the floor was iced over was the cause. Not quite enough to mess with your footing if you were careful, but enough to assist in anything already in mid-slide. Blitz leapt through the door into the room, which was thankfully much roomier than the tunnel, Daine stumbling through a second later, just before a sliding door slid up from the ground where the previous door had been and sealed them in. And judging by the claw marks on some of the meat haunches hanging in the cooler, it might have been to keep something in, not out. Blitz jumped to one side as a pair of claws swiped at him, hitting one the meat haunches instead and cutting halfway through it. Those are some sharp claws, Blitz thought. I should be alright if I'm careful, but Daine wouldn't fare well if he got hit. Daine passed a comment that made Shoop chuckle. "Maybe this new guy ain't so bad after all," Shoop said. "Good for you, you made a friend, now keep quiet while I deal with whatever's in here with us," Blitz said, firing a wide laser blast from his hand in the direction of the claws, the heat from it enough to set some of the hanging hams to begin steaming from the vastly conflicting temperatures as the beam passed by them. |

“I’ll keep quiet too!” Daine said in a voice a little too loud, it wasn’t for a few moments after that he realised what he had done, causing him to silently chuckle too. It wasn’t where he’d pictured being today, in some underground meat room with some robot armed guy and a talking hat fending off a fluffy blue creature of death that rattled its way down the corridor slowly. From Daine’s angle closer to the other side of the meat haunches, he could make out some figure in the haze of freezer fog. It was sniffing the beef stained air in confusion, luckily enough the meat was disguising their scent to the animal, likely that was the reason there was so many kept down here. But before he had too long to question what sort of thing this beast was or anything like that; his new friend was going the extra mile and shooting stuff out of his arm. “Why can’t I get fun things like that?” Daine openly said watching at the beam seared with ease though the meat at the location where the beast had been. It took a few moments for the air to settle down and for anything to be seen over the sudden emergence of water vapour from all of the roasted meats around the epicentre. “What else can you do?” Daine asked with some enthusiasm, however his celebration was misplaced, from the direction the beat hit a large roar sounded out. It sounded like whatever he shot was very much pissed off. One by one, the beast ripped the carcasses from the ceiling throwing them with enough force to make the bones a pulp like jelly against the suddenly caving in wall. “I hope you can think quickly.” Daine panicked, looking behind him once more to see there wasn’t any way out. The beast roared once more, this time salivating too; the droplets of foul smelling spit flew through the air, clearing the remaining airborne debris to reveal a large hulking creature, covered in matted fur in numerous shades of blue. It’s front arms being much larger than the back. It’s face was twisted and filled with sharp and tangled spine like teeth. Honestly it wasn’t pretty. Along one side there was a large deeply bleeding gash where it’s been able to just avoid part of the cannon blast, but not without a considerable amount of damage. The deep flesh on show reminded Daine of something disturbing. “Don’t shoot again, it’s my steak.” If one cut could black out most a street, he didn’t want to know what a whole beast could do. Diving through the meat line, Daine furiously looked for a way out, hoping that Shoop and his human robot carried could buy him some time. A beast like this likely had a leash, right? |

The beam Blitz fired in the direction of the claws was a successful hit, if the roar that echoed through the chamber was to judge. From the tone, however, it sounded less like a beast yielding and more like a beast that was now pissed off. At least I hit it, and by the sound of its rage, wounded it, Blitz thought with a mental shrug. Daine, however, seemed more interested in the weapon than its target. "Tell you what - if it should ever occur that you get your arm sliced off from the shoulder down, I'll build one of these for you, though I can't guarantee it'll come with the full array of weaponry like my own does. Or that losing an arm is terribly likely." "If that beast goes after him instead of you, judging by those hanging hams with claw marks, that might actually be very likely indeed," Shoop pointed out, peering through the vapor, trying to spot the beast. "A fair point." Blitz said with a slight shrug. But before the conversation could continue, and Blitz explain what else his arm could do, the beast began moving - not attacking them, persay, but rather the chunks of meat hanging from the ceiling at various points. It's getting rid of the stuff in its way, Blitz realized. Smart, for a beast. Daine ran off to one side, with a plan of some kind in mind, no doubt - at the very least, he was out of the direct path of the beast's claws for now. "Hope you don't mind if it's overcooked," Blitz said, keeping his gaze on the beast. "I think Daine implies that the beast might be made of the same material as the steak you muffled an explosion from earlier, Master Blitz," said Morgan, floating up from behind Blitz's back to hover over his left shoulder as a ball of orange-yellow light, similar to a candle's flame. "Ah, right," Blitz said. "Just figured he'd magicked it somehow, didn't think that he bothered enchanting the beast it came from, let alone one still breathing. Guess I really will have to avoid cooking it any more." Blitz allowed himself a faint grin. "Doesn't mean I can't tenderize it, though." The meats were getting ripped down two at a time, some just turning to jelly on impact, others sliding a short distance, while some brought the chain itself down with them, as the hook had been set just under a bone of some kind, and the chain had given way before the meat did. After a few more slashes, the beast was close enough to see without magical aid, and it wasn't the most aesthetic of beasts, to put it lightly - a blue-furred monster with hulking arms and a deep gash where Blitz's beam had hit, so at least the fur wasn't thick enough to double as armor. Blitz reeled back with one arm, his arm transforming as it had to rip down the door earlier, then slung forward - Blitz was still out of claw's-reach when he swung, so he was out of normal melee range, but Blitz proved that his own melee range was somewhat more negotiable when his car-sized fist launched off the end of his wrist like a rocket, right at the thing's face. |
