Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Much changed for Syeena since she been here last. She joined Grimore Heart. Traveled around a bit. She even got stronger at her magic. With her trusty feline companion and familiar on her shoulder, she returned home.

Poinsettia, the city of flowers, trees and natural beauty. Out of all the cities, it was one that held great natural beauty. The entire town was infused with the natural landscape of trees and plants. This was Syeena's home town. One would of thought it was odd for someone allied with Grimore heart to be from a town so close to Blue Pegasus, the light guild. But there was another reason why she lived in Poinsettia for such a time.

After all her trials and missions, she felt she could pay her family a visit. Back at the cathedrial where she was raised.

Unafraid, Syeena walked down the street in her usual attire. In reality, there were many people around Poisenttia that were dressed in sorcerer and sorceress capes and cowels. They wouldn't notice her as she was now, wearing her robe, skirt, and such. The Grimore Heart Tattoo on her thigh-- maybe that would cause attention but she kept her footing quick and moved along.

Even if someone did notice, she would be gone before they could get a better look at her legs.

And on her shoulder, was her faithful friend and familiar, the black Exceed cat Hex. The cat wore a witch's hat and paw gloves with claws at the end. An unique cat indeed. "Nice call going to visit home after the holiday craziness," Hex commented, partly relived that Christmas was over and all the jazz from the holidays. The cat was a pretty big scrooge during that time.

Still, while Syeena was happy to be in her home town, she had many reasons to return. One of them-- to see her family. Thing was, her family was no traditional family. As she and Hex strolled down the less busy part of town, little did Syeena know that others entwined with her fate would be nearby.

What's The Point

Wohp, wahp wahp wahp wahp wahp wehp, wahp wahp, wahp, wehp.

"S'my new tune! Like it, Bugsy?" Cynthia held her broken little doll up in front of her face with both hands, traveling down one of Poinsetta's many twisted pathways with a little march, keeping her legs straight and throwing them straight forward like a tiny German army officer. Delicate snow tresses, freshly cleaned by the always-loving Snow, bounced along behind her, waving gently in the morning breeze like curtains flowing by an open window. They were far lighter than they had been before, and flowed easily with the wind - something the child found rather pretty.

Cheerful and jolly was the tiny girl's disposition today - a marked improvement from her last visit here, wherein her dress had just a bit more blood, dirt, and other sorts of equally disgusting things on it, and her hair and skin was more sweat and dirt than actual hair and skin. But regardless of the differences between Cynthia's previous visit to Poinsetta and this one, the child was on the exact same business - that is, absolutely none at all. As usual. Ha. Take that, impending adulthood.

...No, seriously, she wasn't doing anything. Nor did she ever do anything, ever. Then, why did the author decide to add this needless bit of information to her post, you may ask?

The author shrugs tiredly, yawns, takes another sip of hot chocolate, rubs her eyes, and continues typing.

Anyways, Bugsy gave no visual or auditory response whatsoever, mostly because he was an inanimate object, but it might also have been because he truly wasn't in the mood to hear Cynthia's mixtape, lest he be immolated right then and there. But regardless, the albino girl grinned happily and nodded her head as if he had responded. "Ooh, thankies, Bugsy! You always give great advice." Perhaps it may have been concerning to the average adult to hear a child speak to her stuffed animal in a manner one might speak to one's father on a good day, but Cynthia seemed to be left alone by Poinsetta's inhabitants for the time being, and happily went on her way as usual, oblivious of her apparent fate.

Fate, such a strange and mystical force to drive the world. At once embraced wholeheartedly by some and yet shunned and derided as impossibilities and pointlessness by others. Who knew if what it truly did was in any way measurable, if such a force truly existed or if it's effects -as wide-ranging as some claimed they were- stemmed solely from some sort of placebo effect.

You believe and thus you shall be granted... or something like that.

Still, as the streets of Poinsettia were in general quite busy it was not the guidings of fate that drew Emmaline Stryck here today but instead a combination of two things - a rumour and a story. The rumour had to do with the fate of her father, a general in the Boscan army when they had invaded Fiore only to vanish amidst the fighting without being confirmed KIA by either nation, a rumour that a man matching his description had been seen eating at a local ramen shop in this particular city. Emmaline may not have been in Fiore for long but she was a reknowned gourmand back in her home country, and it had only taken a few quiet words to get a network of information coming to her.

It was mostly food but sometimes she received information that was actually pertinent.

And then there was the story, the story of an ingredient that could drive a person wild, a way of cooking it that could bring a person to their knees in love for the flavour on their tongue, a method of eating it that turned it into an embodiment of perfection. And for someone who ate as often as Emmaline did such a story was always a drawcard.
Speaking of eating...
"Ten please." the small young lady said to the man at the kebab stand, the man's alarmed face not even fading once she produced the required money and walked away, staring after her down the street even as she called back, "They're good - thanks!"

These were the quieter streets of Poinsettia, quieter being a relative term though, and as she meandered her way down the winding avenues following this smell or that that grabbed at her attention she simply let herself enjoy her time here. She had arrived the day before and had already put out feelers for the verification of the rumour and so right now she was simply wondering about the story she had heard. Hunger drove everything she did after all, it was hardly surprising that it had brought her here and since the story had said the ingredient itself was found in the quieter parts of the city maybe she would get lucky and just stumble upon it.

Or maybe she would find herself caught up in something far different than she had first intended...

At this point, Syeena and Hex journeyed through the shadowy alleyway and into a part of town which was the oldest part of Poinsettia. It was stone buildings where trees had overgrew around it. It was as if you walked through the city and suddenly found yourself lost in an enchanted wood. In truth, it was just the more rural part of town. Nature mages came here to cultivate the plant life and some were even more willing to come here for religious reasons. But by the church, many flowers and herbs grew-- including ones a certain young hungry lady was searching for.

Though unaware of it, Syeena was not concerned if others from her guild was there. She had no clue to know they were in town as well. "You think the guild will mind you just dropping out and going on your own. Grimore Heart seems to be picky about what you do. " Hex warned, knowing they left suddenly to return home.

Syeena just brushed a hand through her long black hair as they walked through a grove of tree-buildings and soon entered a shaded area of the city. "I didn't join Grimore Heart to be their bitch, in every sense of the word. They won't complain if I am gone for a bit. Besides, I never did tell my aunts how it all went. They encouraged me to join Grimore Heart" she explained.

After getting through the mass of leaves and trees, they soon discovered their destination. Inside a shaded grove was a large gothic style cathedral. Sunlight shined upon it but with all the branches and trees it was obscured from sight. Gothic design was there, but there were also sacred feminine and even styles of Celtic design mixed into the architecture. As the two approached the church down the path, worn away by time and nature, they could see the windows of the stain glass, glistening.

"Home sweet home," Hex said with a smile as she tilted her cute witch's hat.

They soon reached the doors of the cathedral. As Syeena touched it, there was a sudden magic circle before the doors that glowed-- and then opened up slowly for her. Syeena did in fact smile as she looked inside. "I do miss this place," she replied and stepped inside.

As she would enter, it looked like a regular church. Rows of seats, holy-like alter near the front and stained glass with lights shining in. However, someone stood out. Someone was there. A mysterious nun praying at the center. It was a quaint scene, almost too innocent to trust.

"Weclome dear child. Have you come to pray?" the woman asked. "Or to attone for a sin?"

Syeena and Hex looked at the woman, her back to them. Dressed fully as the witch she was ,Syeena scoffed at the woman's words. "I don't think we pray to the same gods, do we? Besides, I'm got nothing to be ashamed of,"

Syeena drew her magic cards, and held them ready. She clearly didn't take kindly to the nun.

Somewhere along her long meandering walk through these old streets Emmaline began to get a whiff of something, a long forgotten scent that reminded her of her childhood. It was odd, she wasn't quite sure where exactly it was coming from and she knew even less about what it was - all that stuck in her mind was that it was something delicious and it reminded her of... Winter. She didn't know how or why but it reminded her of that season in her childhood, of snuggling up at home while there was a snowstorm outside. Of laughing with her father and her mother for once, of a drink in her hand that brought thoughts of love and freshness into her mind...

She found she was holding her hands in front of her face as though clutching a warm mug of a drink, as though the very smell triggering her memory had triggered her body to move as well. This was odd to Emmaline, she was normally quite aware of her body and its specific position in space but she simply shrugged it off and returned to what she had been doing - eating. The kebabs were all gone but she always had candy on her person and she was happily eating it until that smell struck her nose once more, filled it up and moved into her mind and drew her towards its source. She didn't know where that was at first but she began to walk until it grew stronger, and then she moved from there.

It wasn't the longest walk but it took her into a part of the city that her mind said made no goddamn sense. Trees were suddenly everywhere, it reminded her of the Seles district back in her home city where things were specifically overgrown for the reason of the Academy there. This just felt like a waste for no reason. Still, the scent was coming from within the confines of these trunks and branches so when in Crocus... do as the... Crocans do? Yeah, that sentence had never made sense to Emmaline - surely Era made more sense.

The smell finally grew stronger as Emmaline found herself approaching a large cathedral-like place, all tree-surrounded and white-gothic structure. It was impressive if you were into that sort of thing -which she wasn't- and she ringed around it once, sniffing the entire time while looking for the source of the smell before stopping outside the front door, staring up at it. The scent was definitely coming from inside and she simply shrugged slightly before reaching up and pushing the doors open, calling out loudly as she did so, not giving two fucks about anyone inside in her hunt for that tasty, tasty smell.

"HO~ THE CHURCH!" one hand up to her mouth made her voice echo loudly around the entire cathedral, Emmaline spotting the two women before her but not bothering to address them directly, "Anyone know what's u~p?"

"Bap, boop, bap, bibbidy, boop, beep, BAP!" The child's tune was completely out of sync with her little march, drowning out the screams of OCD sufferers everywhere, but she didn't seem to mind - who needed rhythm anyways? I mean, sure, it's central to a song, but Cynthia literally didn't know what the barf rhythm even was. So. 10/10. 100/100. Best game.

Whatever. Even if her mixtape wasn't really the most high-quality, she couldn't care less as she marched down the street, ignoring the incredulous stares directed towards her by the appropriately flabbergasted townspeople. Hell, if this had been some sort of Disney musical, several orphans would probably just run in out of nowhere and join her in song. But alas, this was no Disney musical, as much as Cynthia's mixtape would profit from being featured on such a film.

So, the tiny girl was relegated to looking rather silly, the little bunny doll in her right hand swinging so limply one might expect its arm to detach as it was swung about. So. Even if Cynthia was completely clueless as to what she was doing or where she was going, it was fiiiiiine. At least she was staying on the main roads, and not going into some weird floral-looking area with a strange, random church that no-one seemed to be around for some unfathomable reason not discernible by anyone with an IQ of 2 digits or more.

Oh.

Wait.

She was going into aforementioned strange place. NO. STAHP. STAHPPIT CYNTHIA. Oh well, in the albino child went, marching her little German officer march and shouting her ruckus of a marching beat, her shrill voice echoing off the walls similarly to the female who had entered before her and whom the crimson-eyed girl was currently marching past.

The sudden opening of the church doors to reveal two little girls. Both were strangers to both women inside, and startled them by their random entrances.

Syeena and Hex looked at the nun, as if awating something. Finally, the nun stepped forward and jumped high into the air! The white outfit she was wearing was suddenly torn away as she was in mid air--- and soon a black one was replaced. As if her hair grew to replace it, and soon she landed in a new outfit. The woman was dressed in a sleek , tight body suit that acented her features nicely. The outfit was black and blue with a dark fringing near her arms that revealed star-shaped ornaments. Any man would be nose bleeding over her. Luckily none were present. Her noticable features were also the heels she wore-- attached to two guns behind them.

She landed on the ground, she drew to of her guns and aimed them at the two girls. It was not in threat, but in defense, as they were tresspassing " Hm, did these children get lost? Still, they must not be regular childen to just waltz in through the clan's defense charms. " she replied.

A smile appeared on Syeena as she rolled her eyes "You always overdo things , Aunt Cereza. " Syeena said, glad to see her. She would of hugged her had it not been for the strangers nearby ruining the moment.

"Good to see you too, little one," Cereza said, smirking back at her. Now she turned back to the strangers. "Now, what bring these two little ones to our humble abode? You shouldn't be wandering around, little girls. "

At that time, Hex fluttered over Cereza and Syeena to see one of the girls, recognizing Cynthia. "Hey! I know that girl. She was that crazy bunny talking girl from Agil's restaurant!" Hex announced to Syeena. They had met, having taken in the little girl when she was wandering the streets alone one night.

"Friends of yours I imagine?" Cereza asked.

Emmaline noticed the approach of the new girl with as much attention as she was currently paying to the two women before her - passably but not overly. The newcomer was shorter than her -which was a rarity- by almost a full foot and Emmaline found it weird having to actually look down on someone else rather than up.
She also found she didn't like it.
Still, after looking at her for a few moments more -and ignoring the semi-crazy ramblings coming from her mouth- Emmaline noticed that it was a girl and not a short young woman like herself. Her nasal ridge was less formed, her brows softer and wider and her cheekbones not so defined, showing she was less than fifteen and probably no more than eleven or twelve.

Whatever, the newcomer was amusing but hardly important, Emmaline's nose was still full of the scent of the ingredients she had followed into this place so she looked around a few times as the "nun" ahead of them leaped into the air and did a quick-change into something arguably a lot sluttier than before.
"Ha," Emmaline said softly to herself, not looking directly at the scantily clad broad but instead still looking for evidence of the delicious smell, also ignoring the drawn weapons mostly because she didn't see them yet, "gayyyyy."

It wasn't until she was finally spoken of -she was listening, not looking- and referred to as a friend that she had to speak her mind, her eyes finally affixing on the gun-toting whore-looking woman and the other young lady nearby.
"I have literally no idea who any of you are," she said pointedly, reaching into a pocket and pulling out her fork in recognition of the aimed guns, though to the others it would be a strange gesture, "I just smelled something tasty and I followed it. If you had "defense charms" or whatever they must suck, I didn't even notice a goddamn thing trying to stop me getting here."

And that was the essential truth of it all - she was hungry and something smelled good so she wanted to eat it. Plus this place seemed suuuuper stupid so she didn't really want to get caught up in whatever the hell was going on, it seemed like a lot of trouble.
A lot.

Huh. Odd. What was the weird woman doi-BWAH OKAY LOOK NO BOMB. The albino child shut up halfway through her sporadic screeches of unintelligible syllables starting with 'B' and 'F', rather comically freezing in place in the middle of her strange little march with a single foot awkwardly suspended in the air in front of her. Cynthia blinked rapidly at the two barrels pointed directly at her and the stranger beside her, head tilting slightly to the left in marked confusion at the woman's actions.

Speaking of which, Cynthia never had thought of actually observing the girl to her right, and thus did so by turning her head (whilst retaining her weird frozen position) to look up at the older female. Blue-haired, obviously older and a bit short for her age (though, this wasn't particularly something Cynthia herself noted given her age and stature), aaaaaaand that was really the only thing Cynthia noted. And she had a little metal thingy in her hand. Ooh. She'd have to see what that was later. Probably by biting it.

Another bout of blinking occurred before the child finally relaxed into a regular old standing position, Bugsy hanging limply from her arms. She was quiet for a few moments as the two strangers each spoke to one another before interjecting loudly, "I'm not lost, I wand-whatever around all the time! I'm a big girl, y'know!" Cynthia's size, immature mannerisms, and shrill speech suggested otherwise, but she continued regardless. "And still, Bugsy's here to protect me n'stuff! Bugsy takes really good care of me. Right-o, Bugsy?" With that, she held the stuffed toy up for the older woman to see - unsurprisingly, it didn't response, simply flopping about rather lamely in her hands. The girl's insistence on her being fine contrasted with both her and the doll's disheveled and abused appearance - her dress and hair were dirty and sweat-stained, and the apparent "Bugsy" appeared as if it could have been old enough to belong to the young girl's grandmother in her youth.

Regardless, that was that. Cynthia, having apparently finished her contention, simply relaxed and turned to the girl beside her, finally sating her curiosity by lowering her head down to the fork and licking it. Because THAT'S HOW CHILDREN ACT, OKAY.

Cereza waited, then slowly withdrew her guns. After which they vanished in a shimmer, as if by magic-- exactly like magic. "Hmm, guess they are not a threat then. But I will need to scold Jeanne on poor work with the cathedral enchantments. But you know that one with the rabbit?" she asked.

"Only once," Syeena replied as Hex fluttered in the air overhead.

Cereza, or Bayonetta as she was often called rubbed her head, and adjusted her glasses a bit. "Well as much as I hate playing babysitter, I can't say no to young girls who need a place to stay. You're welcomed," she said. She then turned to the 'hungry girl'. "If you mind your manners, little one, that smell your tracking is dinner. We are brewing a whole cauldron of it. You're welcome to it... if you behave yourself,"

Returning back to Syeena, Cereza smiled and reached out to hug her. SHe hugged the younger witch, happy to see her. "It's good to see you again, little one," she said, sincerely happy despite her cool demeanor.

Syeena hugged her aunt back. "Good to see you too! "

Ending the hug, Cereza looked at Syeena with pride. "So, did you do it? Did you get into Grimore Heart?" She asked . At this point, Syeena drew one of her tarot cards-- the marking on it now different. The back of the card had a violet starry background, with the ensignia to Grimore Heart. " Marvelous! Congradulations, Syeena. You will make an amazing witch yet." she said,

"She probably be better than you in time, Cereza," Another woman spoke!

STepping up beside Cynthia and Emma was another person! A woman dressed in red, with same guns like Bayonetta in her hands and heels! She wore a stylish red jumpsuit that accented her long white hair. On her guns dangled strange 'hatted' cat keychains. Decorations that she chose. The woman had alluring violet eyes as she smiled at Syeena.

"Aunt Jeanne!" Syeena said happily and rushed to give her a hug as well. The woman took the hug and was joined as Hex too hugged her, almost smotheringly too sweet of a reunion.

"Easy, easy you too... It is good to see you as well," she said, and then turned to the two girls she did not know. "And who is this? New playdate friends for Syeena?" Jeanne teased, causing Syeena to furrow a brow at the joke.

Either way, the witches wanted to know who they were and what they were like.
