She didn't know how to talk to Madison, it seemed. While Miguel was gone the two tried to spend some time together, but even with their company the two haven't had a chance to understand each other. It makes sense, since one can't understand a friend completely in 3 months. Miguel's earlier explanation didn't give her the answers she wanted it seemed. She explained that she only joined Lamia Scale because Miguel was in it, now she had no real reason to stay in the guild. He couldn't go back. That's when Natora said something that Miguel thought was already established. He wasn't going to see them anymore, or at least, he wasn't going to visit Madison and Natora. He thought maybe they'd come over whenever they wanted to see him.. but even that seemed dangerous in this town. Light mages go missing every once in awhile when they venture too far inside Trillium; closer to Raven tail. There was only one way that Miguel could protect them, and do it permanently. He had to send them away. "No. I don't plan on ever seeing you two again." Were the only two words that Miguel could muster. He held his feeling back and remained a calm expression, like what he said hadn't impacted him at all. He was nothing more then a husk that was carrying a very live creature inside. A face that didn't match the real intentions. With her current mood she should get angry enough to run away, and never return again. She'll hate him now, but he'll send her a note when the time is right. Neko was looking at the situation, his smirk faded away what seemed like ages ago. Natora was angry and Miguel was.. lying? There's no way he'd say something like that to a friend. |

The words rang through the blue haired girl. As if the echo from his words touched some sort of deep hollow place that she didn't even know existed. What did he mean he never planned on seeing them? That wasn't what she wanted to hear. That wasn't what she wanted to hear...though, what was it she wanted to hear? That he was going to be coming back and go live happily ever after with both her and Madison? That this was all just one big misunderstanding and a phase so she didn't need to worry? Natora stiffened. Her chin was held up high and she willed herself not to cry anymore. Not in front of this monster. Not in front of him ever. Emotions were weak. Emotions clouded judgement and...emotions caused her to feel pathetic. She wasn't pathetic, she was a mage, and a damn good one...for her class at least. Or at the very least she was going to be a damn good one sooner or later. "I see. Then we have no more business here." She turned away from her once friend and started out the door. Before walking out, she looked to Neko and gave him a weak smile. "It was good seeing you. I wish we could have left on better terms." With one last glare to Miguel, the blue haired girl walked out and headed back to the train station. Emotions had been flooding her for what seems like a life time after she walked out that door. She wanted to cry, she wanted to scream, she wanted to punch things...lord she didn't want to leave. All she could think about was his actions and what he had done. All she could think about was how he didn't care about her....how he didn't want her there anymore. It was at this time clarity fell upon her. Miguel was a lying pile of crap. Anger soon became the more dominate emotion in Natora as she stormed back to the shop that Miguel had found himself. It wasn't that she was made at him, but more mad at herself for not seeing through it. He was acting, she knew full well how to do that. Natora wanted an explanation for this and she wanted it now. Practically kicking in the door, Natora yelled towards Miguel, if he was still there. "You have a lot of nerve lying to me. You better start running before I figure out a way to actually cause you pain." |

Miguel watched Natora leave, telling Neko that she wished they had left on better terms before glaring back at Miguel. His gaze didn't fall from her, and he seemed calm. When she left is when his blank expression melted away. His steady eyes began to water and his hands found themselves placed on the desk. He knew it had to be done, but it didn't make things any easier. Now there was just one way for him to escape this scenario and keep them out of harms way in case they ever came back. Since he returned to this world he hasn't made an impact, he's only remained in the shadows while working for a darkness that might take over Fiore one day. Greed. Miguel had no way of purifying this world of bad men if he was working for one of the worst himself. All he's really doing is weakening others so that these may prosper and infect other cities with their money and lust for power. What was Miguel accomplishing all of this time? Seeing Natora, watching her leave, and thinking about the work he has done pushed him to the brink of what he thought would never happen once he came back. Sure there was stronger people, and even more monsters, but there was also less war in this world. He didn't think it would be impossible to operate like this. He sighed and walked to the back of the room, where there was an entire arsenal of items and weapons. There were magic scarfs, trinkets, a box, swords, shields, but his attention was on the item that seemed like it didn't belong. The case box with a lock in the front. Miguel opened it with his key and took out what appeared to be a branch with odd words spread around it. He walked towards Neko, whom was now on the floor looking at Miguel. "What are you doing?" asked Neko, with his eyes glaring up at Miguel. "Tell Natora and Madison to stay in light guilds, it'll make my existence in this world a benefit to somebody at least. And take care, Neko." Natora burst the doors open at that point, causing Miguel to instinctively look directly at her after pressing on the root. That's when he smiled and leaned back, waving at Natora as if saying farewell. The branch/root glowed and opened a portal behind Miguel. He slipped right through it, but the portal remained open for another second. Neko watched, amazed at what he saw, but was too scared to go through the portal. Most people would think twice about jumping in an unknown portal, and those thoughts are what make a portal that closes in one second almost incapable of pursuit. |

As soon as she had finished with her rant to Miguel, it seemed as if the bastard was running away. Actually he was smiling and running away. Like hell he was going to get away with that. Like hell he was going to just dump her off ad he ran off to another part of the kingdom as if she wouldn't be able to find him. She would find him again. No matter what. In fact, she was going to figure out where he was running off to now and going to attempt to stab him again because stabbing seemed like a good answer for his lies. So Natora rushed in after Miguel and through the portal. Never once did she question where it was going or what kind of dangers it was going to present. Why? Well why would she? She never cared about the dangers before hand anyway. She never once questions why. Maybe that was her downfall and why she had lost him in the first place. Maybe that was why she needed to vent all her frustration at him and ask so many questions now. Why was he running away from her again? Once she had made it through the portal, Natora attempted to tackle Miguel to the ground and pin him there. More than likely Miguel would have seen this coming and would have run off. If that was the case as well, then she was going to give chase. She didn't know how, and she didn't know what would happen, but if she had to, she wold chase him to the end of the world just to make him apologize for lying to her. "Miguel, did you really think you could get away with fooling me with a lie like that? You are really a-" Her ranting stopped. Glancing around, the blue haired girl realized that she wasn't in the same kingdom anymore. Where was she? Did he send them to a new country? Did they go to a different planet? Was this now some kind of John Carter of Earth scenario? Or maybe something else? Natora glanced at Miguel. "Where are we?" |

Just then something unexpected happened, something that Miguel did not see coming. Natora ran forward, ignoring that there was a portal behind Miguel, and tackled him inside of it. The portal closed almost immediately afterwards. When Natora was on top of Miguel there was no hint of 'sorry' on his eyes, but what replaced that expected look was one of extraordinary fear. Miguel looked up at Natora for a moment, analyzing the situation, before he put one of his hands on his face. He was covering the tear that was now falling down his cheek. "You.. are now in a world where monsters are a reality, where magic is limited and gods are real. A world where mages are the only option to fight demons, where you and I are the only ones capable of fighting a war." That is when the area they were in became noticeable. They were in the middle of a war between demons and humans. They were called demons, but they were actually just very strong and morphed monsters. Lucky for Miguel they appeared behind the human lines, but one could see in the distance the flying creatures with bloodied claws, no eyes, and some even had weapons made out of human body parts (flesh and all sowed around a blade to possibly cause infection once cut). The scene was so gory, but the humans were fighting back in numbers. The creatures took at least 10 humans each in meele range, but the archers made their mark on most of them and forced them to fall on the ground. The battle became a clock of how long the front can hold. If they broke too early all of the archers in the back will die instantly, and if they held then the archers could wipe out the remaining demons from their locations. A veteran woman wearing thick armor with long black hair, muscles, and scars looked at the two. "You're back, I thought you preferred the safety of your dimension over helping us finish off the remaining demons." Miguel talked to the woman, standing upright. "I am not your slave, nor am I doing this because I care about this world more then the other. However, I can make a difference here. I can save it." The woman looked at Miguel and smiled, then at the blue haired girl next to him. "Is she..." "Yes, she has to return as soon as possible. I'll help in this battle, since it looks like it can go either way." |

Her eyes drank it all in. It was a murder scene...it was a war. Blood and guts were everywhere. People were fighting monsters and monsters were killing people. As she started to stand up, Natora didn't once flinch when something horrific had happened. What was this place? They weren't in the kingdom anymore. They weren't anywhere where she had even heard of before. And if truth be told, this scene looked worse than anything she had ever heard of while the Boscan War was happening. Her gaze shifted to a well seasoned warrior woman who seemed as if she had known Miguel for a while. Or at the very least they had fought in some kind of battle together. This woman had explained, well more like hinted, that they were in a whole new dimension. That there was a war going on and that Miguel had been a part of it. And it seemed as if Miguel was going to help with this battle. "They don't look that scary," Natora said once the two seemed to have a break in the conversation. Her attention went back to the fighting on the front lines, where they humans were doing their best to try and stop these things only to get chopped down and killed. It was sad, but not something that caused her to look away. Actually, if truth be told, she kind of wanted to join in on this fight. Her only wish? She was actually a lot stronger than she was. Natora looked back at the two. "So what do we have to do? Kill a few monsters, save some people, not get hurt...seems pretty straight forward to me, no? Unless there is something else you aren't telling me?' The last comment was directed to Miguel as it seemed he had a habit lately of not telling her everything when he should have been doing so. If the woman wanted to answer, that was fine. If not, then Miguel better start answering. |

Natora didn't seem fazed by this, even as some of the monsters grabbed the more bare of the women in the front line. A closer look will show some of the creatures even penetrating through the thick armor like it was some sort of soft desert.. perhaps pudding. Blood immediately evacuated the wound like fizzied soda and dropped to the ground in large drops, follow by a never ending stream that followed per pulse. Miguel watched this and silently cringed his teeth. He hated seeing people die, but he also enjoyed saving them. Natora asked Miguel something rational, if there were any rules that she should know about. Miguel nodded, 'There is one. When I said not to use your magic unless you really needed to, I meant it. Using powerful spells here will drain whatever amount of magic you have in your body. Once you're drained, the only way you can cast a spell again is to see a temple and hope that the gods give you their blessing. If they don't, like most mages here, you never get your magic back." Miguel neglected to mention that, cuz he didn't think she'd be fighting. Then IT happened, the reason Miguel, Ina, and the other two mages were important in this war. A giant bull-like monster creature rushed through the all that the women tried to create, causing other creatures to fall right through the road of blood and gore. Bodies with missing limbs that used to be whole, ribs sticking out of areas above or anterior to the torso, and puncture wounds that made tank barrels look like pencil holes. The big bull-like monster ran (he had arms and legs like a human, but with hoofs on the feet) using his bulging arms to swat any soldier in his way, completely removing their bodies from their heads. It became pretty obvious that he couldn't be stopped easily. Girls were stabbing him, but it seemed almost ineffective. Arrows tried to kill him, but non of them did enough penetration with the long distances between the archers and the monsters. Miguel took off his clothes, showing that underneath he had an entire outfit with a black cloak, metal parts on the chest area, and even a hood. He had a masquerade mask and two gauntlets on his left and right wrist. "Natora, I'll take care of the big guy, kill any creatures that get near the archers. Like the ones that are running through the middle behind the giant bull demon. Good luck." The woman that was next to him sighed as he ran to attack the giant bull demon. "Normally I'd be the one issuing orders, but in his case I'd rather not embarrass myself by repeating what he said." She waved for the other soldiers behind the archers to run towards the front. They all held spears and claymores. They aimed to either penetrate or dismember one of the creatures, this would be a complete war. Hopefully Natora will have enough experience to know how to fight this battle. Miguel ran immediately to the front of the battle, where the majority of women were now fighting for their lives to make sure that the monsters perished. The one sole bull demon seemed to be the biggest issue right now. He unsheathed his blade and ran full speed to the front lines. He seemed almost super human compared to the other soldiers, even faster the bull demon moving through the front. What he did not expect was that one of the hundreds of powerfully accurate archers miss her mark completely and hit one of the flying demons. It turned around, and the others in unison, and flew towards the archers whom were now focusing on killing the flying creatures heading right towards them. They all had tings from batwings to bird wings to bug wings, and were all different types of beasts stemming from goats to pigs to even horses. They flew in fast and over Miguel's head. They looked like they were very decent in fighting, at least their speed was what Miguel expected (around 30) so they shouldn't be impossible to get rid of. The archers killed 33 out of the 100 before they reached he halfway point, and killed 35 on the second half since they had to reload and wait for orders to fire at the beasts. With 32 remaining the captain (woman with scars) raised her sword and ordered her soldiers to throw their spears when they got near them. Bodies fell right before the point of impact between the demons and the archers, there were only 21 remaining before that second of impact. Edited by THE Cat, Aug 18 2015, 05:58 AM.

Alright so Miguel left out one tiny little itty bitty little huge detail that could more than likely be the entire turning point of the entire thing. It seemed as if there really was a limit to how much magic that could be used in one setting. And apparently there were gods who would grant them more magic if they were favored? Well wasn't that nice. Why didn't Natora and Miguel just walk on down to a temple and pray to some god she didn't even know and beg for some magic help while in the middle of this fight? That would go over swimmingly, no? That little detail only put the blue haired girl into an even fouler mood. Suddenly, Miguel started to strip there on the battle field, donning on some kind of dark, alright back, clothing that had been hidden under his normal clothes. It seemed as if this was just some random other day for the smoke mage. What other strange and interesting secrets had happened while he was away in this world? Well, if she didn't start fighting and helping out, then there was no way for her to know, now was there? Orders had been given and it seemed as if she was to be guarding the archers. Great. She had no other weapon other than her own magic and that was already something she was trying not to do. So now the blue haired girl was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She could have walked forward and gotten a new weapon from someone who was dead, but as it turned out, one of the archers had hit the flying demons and they were coming this way. So now that wasn't even really an option. Natora watched as almost all of them had fallen. Only 21 remained. That wasn't so bad. She had to make up her mind and her mind said, until someone was struck down dead near her, she was going to have to use her own magic and help out with the fighting. And so she did. Five feathers had been summoned around her. These five feathers were then plucked from the air one by one and sent flying to five different flying demons. She had hoped that with her added magical attack, it would help dwindle the numbers if only a little bit. But who was the girl kidding? She needed a weapon. She could make a sword that would last a few moments, but was that going to be enough? No not really. On the moment of impact, all hell was let lose. People were fighting left and right. Doing the best that she could, Natora dodged and weaved between people fighting and eventually found herself picking up a bow and quiver. Sure she might not have been the best shot here, but if she was going to do some kind of damage without using magic, other than her Feather Arrow she had just done moments before, then this was going to have to be a thing. Counting the arrows, the blue haired girl had exactly twenty on her. Maybe she could scoop some up later on. But for now, twenty was going to be fine. Pulling one from the quiver, she readied the arrow and loosed it on another flying demon going for another archer. One saved, and so many more to go. "How many more flying demons are still alive?" Natora asked to anyone in earshot as she loosed another arrow directed at a demon coming towards her. |

At such close range a lot of the archers seemed almost useless against the flying demons. The sharp arrows stopped making contact with flesh almost immediately after the creatures reached them; it was almost sad. The creatures continued to grab people and go back in the air, unslowed by the person they are carrying, then dropped them when they reached a certain height. The girls that were grabbed by the claws, talons, or even tail all had the same reaction- Scream when you're grabbed, struggle, stop struggling when you get to a certain height cuz you will die, then scream as you plummet to your death. With every drop there was at least one other girl killed, and yet only a few of the demons have been killed so far. One of them landed on the ground after Natora hit its wings with her feathers; once it hit the ground some of the warrior ladies stabbed it with their swords right through the neck, abdomen, chest, and the other cut off its wings. Even after all of those stabs, though, the creature continued moving. It took them several seconds of stabbing, and an injured soldier that got hit by the claws of the creature's arm, to kill it at its weakest moment. Natora struck another creature that now fell to the ground, some of the archers with blades on them lept forward to stab it, but the lack of armor and battle readiness for close range combat made them sloppy. The creature's tail, with spikes on it, swung at the girls cutting 5 of them on the abdomen, deeply. They fell to the floor while the demonic creature, with an arrow still on its back, prepared for take off. One of the girls that was near Natora answered her question. "There are.. 19 left, one of us got a lucky shot in and it's in the ground somewhere." With the archers scared of getting close, and the warriors having difficulty navigating through the archers to find creatures on the ground, one of them looked at Natora whom has been one of the only people to bring them down up to now. Finding positions to fire at the demons when they get close has proved to be a tedious task at the very least. She grabbed her blade and threw it to Natora, then took off the small amount of plate armor that covered the upper half of her torso, and her gauntlets and leggings. She talked to Natora. "The way you dress, you came with Miguel. That HAS to mean you're a mage, I"ll try my best to protect you, but you have to change qui-" Just like that the woman was grabbed by the head by some very sharp claws and decapitated. Others swarmed around Natora, hearing the archer speak, and attempted to shoot their arrows at the demon/creatures. They failed horribly, since areal targets can move in almost every dimension possible to dodge their arrows. Without a unison call to have all the girls fire at the same time there is an almost zero chance that they'll hit the demons while they are far. On top of that the creatures seemed to have at least one or two demons coming down to grab girls every 'rotation'. There was no time for re-positioning, or a breath. Some of the archers tried to spread out, but they were immediately grabbed the creatures. And the screaming of the archer girls made calling for orders in the middle of combat impossible. Only 19 left. That was 19 too many. And on top of that, there was no actual command structure here. It was shoot arrow, run and scream, get picked up by a demon anyway, scream from the pain, get dropped from said demon, scream because they were dying, and then hit the ground with a thud that echoed through your entire body and was etched into your mind until your last dying breath. Not that it really mattered to the blue haired girl, but that was the cycle that was going on and it was not going well for the humans. This needed to change before it got out of hand. Someone had noticed that she was wearing different clothes than her and figured out that Natora wasn't from this world. Alright wasn't hard to figure out as she was a seventeen year old girl with blue hair who wore a white dress into battle. Who in their right mind wears a white dress into battle? Regardless, the woman threw her her sword, with Natora caught, and gave the Angelic mage some armor just moments before getting killed by a demon. This had sparked about seven other girls to come rushing to her, which gave her a few seconds to put on her battle ready armor. But even with these sudden new things that had been handed to her, it seemed like it was going even more badly. These girls needed a direction. And they needed someone to give a command to. Well it looked like if Natora was actually going to keep them alive, she was going to have to actually try her best to keep them alive. So what was the problem? Well many things. It was hard to try and come up with a good plan right in the middle of dying. But it was going to have to work. Why? Well if they didn't do something, they were all going to die. "All archers to me. We'll do a rotation. Don't bother trying to run in other directions. If we do this correctly, then at least some of you will make it through this." She drew an arrow and looked at the demon swarm. There was still 19 left and she only had 7 girls to her name. "Four and four. Three archers in front with me, the other four behind them. We will strike at The one dive bombing us now. Ready. Aim. Fire!" Natora aimed at the demon coming down at them now. And any second she was sure another would be coming. When she had said fire, she let go of her arrow and hoped that it at least hit it's target. Regardless, she started another set of orders. "Alpha back. Beta forward. Ready. Aim. Fire." If this at least killed one or two of those demons, then hopefully she could get to the other archers who were out and about dying and quiet the deathing a bit more. Her eyes scanned whatever she could. If there were shields lying around, then her strategy was going to change. If not, then hopefully this worked. If not, then she was going to have to evaluate and rethink it. |
