Jayce was impressed on the power this creature wields. Amazingly it was able to use one of Jax's moves on one of the poachers. Before they knew it, two more poachers had arrived. The masked one was going straight for it's head now that he had the chance. "Suna!" Jayce calls. And it seconds he was ready to fire a sand move. Thrusting his fist outwards, a pulse of sand had blasted forward and knocked the hooded man away before he slashed resulting in the carbuncle leaping away to safety. "So these are the Blue Pegasus wizard's clearin' out the hunting grounds, eh?." said the female hunter from before. The carbuncle returned to the safety of Jayce and Jaxus. It seemed to trust them. But with no time to wipe their sweat, the hooded hunter got up. Unsheathing his sword. "You little rat." he growls angrily. Rushing forward straight at Jayce, the carbuncle had cowarded and leapt into the nearby bushes. The man wanted to take Jayce out! *CHING* With a slash, a wave of sand had raised up to defend against the weapon. Using his control over sand, he manipulated the sand to jump and stick onto the sword, weighing the tip to the ground and causing the hunter to let it go. Pulling out the dagger he was going to use before from the holster on his pants, he steps back. "You're the one I'm going to have to kill today then..." he smirks. Jayce could only chuckle. "Ha! Yeah, right!" Jayce giggled. Holding both arms out, a naginata had appeared in each. "Bring it!" OOC

"We got em'!" Jaxus called out as Jayce blasted away the masked man, just in time as Persies flames sputtered out, leaving her in her smaller form."Oh..." Jaxus eyes the man rise, and prepared to back Jayce up, but suddenly, his peripherals caught sight of a woman rushing him with a sword! "The reward is ours, give it up!" Jaxus suddenly shifted his body weight to face the woman, giving her a cheeky grin. "Like hell!" Immediately, both Persies and Jaxus could tell the woman's weapon was of lower quality, and as she swung, Persies swept forward in front of Jaxus, raising a single wing and stopping the sword mid swing! Immediately, she rushed forth and gripped the woman's arm with both talons, digging deep as she flapped, raising her body abit higher intending to pull the arm with her. "Blue Pegasus...!" Rushing under Persies' wing span, Jaxus cocked his hand back, boomarang in hand. "WON'T LOSE TA' SCUM LIKE YOU!" Crack! As he loudly declared this, he swung at his opponent. While they attempted to duck backwards and dodge, the boomarang exploded in size, clocking them upside the head as shattered teeth, again, went flying into the air. Geez, someone should tell Jaxus to hold back now and again... As the hunter fell to the ground, Persies unleashed her grip, Jaxus taking a grip of his right shoulder with his left hand, rolling it in place as he shifted the huge boomarang like it weighed absolutely nothing, preparing to back Jayce up if he needed to, though, he doubted it. It seemed alot of these hunters were used to taking out prey far weaker, and more injured then themselves. When faced with a mage, none the less one of Jayce's or his own caliber, Jaxus was pretty sure who the victor would be. Edited by SilverRush, Aug 16 2015, 12:21 AM.

Jaxus on the other hand was dealing with the female poacher from before. She was very quite bent on capturing the creature which there was no way either of thing would let that happen. Him and Persies seemed to make a good team when it came to consecutive melee attacks. Though it was sort of far when he knocked the woman's teeth out... Jayce and the hunter ran forward, slashing their weapons once as they equally collided as they held each other off. "You are quite persistent." Jayce says as his gritted his teeth. The guy was about as strong as he was. "Persistent as my paycheck." the man growls. But in seconds, Jayce created another naginata, levitating it right behind the hunter's head in the air. "Checkmate." he would smirk. "I want you to back away and turn around." Jayce would say. As the man was clearly checked, he stepped back -the naginata levitating backwards and turning a few inches with him. The weapons in his hands had dispersed into sand and Jayce gripped the one behind him by the neck. *WHACK* With a swift blow to the head, the hunter was out cold -falling face first on the green grass below them. Using his right hand to grab both of the hunter's arms, a stream of sand had escaped Jayce's gourd and surrounded the hunter's hands and made sand cuffs. Doing the same to the woman that Jaxus took care of, he tossed her unconscious body onto the man. "All in a days work, I guess." He would say, breaking a sweat. |

Jaxus had turned just in time to witness Jayce's cleverly placed attack, forcing the man to surrender as a toothy smirk appeared on Jaxus' mug. Checkmate indeed.~ Unlike Jaxus, who tended to overdo things, Jayce seemed to be very composed when fighting, and even Jaxus took note of this as he swiftly knocked the man out with a strike to the back of the head. As Jayce tied the poachers up and dealed with the woman he knocked out, Jaxus was breathing abit heavy, as if slightly panting, and Persies, who landed on her shoulder, had a tint, tiny spot on crimson on her wing from when she took the blow with the sword. Other than the cut she received, and Jaxus' exhaustion from such rapid use of his spells, they seemed pretty much fine. A big surprise actually, considering how he tripped into the forest earlier. Clack... "CAW-CAAAAW!" //JAXUS, BLOCK!// Using the precise nature of their link, Persies gave Jaxus a mental image of what she saw through her eyes as she screeched like never before, flapping her wings wildly. Eyes going wide, Jaxus gripped his boomarang, twisting it sideways and holding it high as he rapidly spun on his heels. BANG! Suddenly, a shot would echo through the forest, revealing the same hunter from before, smoke exhausting from the barrel of his shotgun. "The bloody hell mate?!" The hunter helled in exasperation, as a majority of the shrapnel was blocked by the flimsy looking boomarang, shattering into bits and sending Jaxus sliding backwards as he supported the force with both hands, head tucked down as his bangs covered his eyes. "That's the second time...!" Grumbling loudly as he slowed to a stop, Persies on his shoulder, Jaxus kicked off the ground with his left leg, reaching his arm out as he put all of his strength into a side casting motion. As he glared to the man, his eyes were in a strange form, startling them as a bead of sweat ran down their neck. This wasn't the form they took when he used his ocular magic, no, not a single bit of light radiated from his eyes. Instead, his emerald eyes had become a shining, golden white color, yet, while emitting no light, reflected with a certain brilliance. With crunched eyebrows, and a stoic, steadfast expression, it was truly and uncommon moment for Jaxus. "YOU SHOT AT MY BIRD!" Using all his body weight, baring his teeth as he yelled, Jaxus positioned his legs a proper distance apart, using his entire body like a "whip" to toss the large boomarang, sending it flailing straight at the man. "Ya' got nerve punks! Take this!" Confident the boomarang was weak, the man raised his shotgun, intending to shoot it out of the air point blank. BANG! Finally, the man's eyes lit with surprise, and terror, as the boomarang "completed plowed past" the buckshot. Coming in like a brick hammer, the boomarang crushed his shotgun barrel and sent it flying away, before slamming into the right, upper part of their chest, knocking them off their feet. "Ouuaahhh...." They weakly let out an injured moan as the boomarang crashed to their side nearby, leaving Jaxus to roll his right shoulder joint in circles while clasping his left hand over it to relieve the tension, calmly and slowly walking towards the man without waiting a single second. "Jayce, wanna' help for a moment? I got ta' ask him somethin' bout' Persies..." Jaxus paused for a brief moment, yet, didn't turn back, his tone uncharacteristically serious, and even abit ominous before he began to approach the man once more. He was entirely and completely focused on the man on the ground. This was a rare, rare moment for Jaxus, one where he was absolutely, and completely, pissed. As he reached over to pet the bird on his shoulder though, perhaps Jayce would understand why. Persies meant everything to him, anyone who pointed a gun at her, was his enemy. That was all there was to it. OOC Note

Hypothetically the last hunter had appeared with his shotgun. After a persistent tussle, the hunter's shotgun was blown off hand. Intervening, Jayce had summoned four tendrils of sand from point blank which bound the arms and legs of the hunter to the ground. The man struggled and wriggled his body trying to get free, but obviously the strength of the sand was far too strong. "GRRAAH! What the hell?!" cursed the hunter as he was securely locked in place. "I think it's best we take the opportunity to interrogate him." Jayce chimes, approaching closer on the grass. Out of nowhere, the carbuncle leapt out the nearby tall grass. Completely aware of the danger-free area, the creature curiously sniffed the bald head of the hunter. "Get away from me you, abomination!" he scolded, which of course scared the carbuncle away behind Jayce. "So who's hiring you." he says, crossarmed. "I ain't tellin' you jack shit!" the hunter snapped back. Right then he gave Jaxus a certain look. Jayce took a deep breath and sighed. "You know, Jaxus, I've been thinking of new technique. But I guess you're the first to witness it's early stage of creation." he says, taking a few steps back. "Yeah? Well witness these nuts." spat the hunter. With a few pauses of hesitation he firmly smacks the palms of both of his hands together, crushing the earth in a small radius under the hunter. With the action, the hunter had become slumped into the pitfall-like trap of sand. Slowly slipping downwards, and with no time to resist, the hunter spilled the beans. "Wha?! Pegasus! Maximillion Pegasus! Sink him, not me!" he shouted. From then, the sand settled -leaving him half sunk in a pile of sand. "Does that name sound familiar?" Jayce asks Jaxus. Perhaps they have found the main target. |

As Jaxus approached the hunter, now binded by Jayce's sand, suddenly stopping in his tracks, turning his head around to look to him as he made his suggestion, apparently taking the initiative to interrogate them before he could. From the angle, Jayce would clearly be able to see the golden white color in his eyes, void of the light which normally radiated in abundance. But, as he looked to his teammate, the color faded away, leaving Jaxus' eyes back to their original, deep emerald color. "Aye...~" With a heavy sigh, fists clenched tightly, it was probably for the best Jayce took the lead. Jaxus was prepared to deliver the hunter to the authorities in a stretcher at this point. As the Carbuncle appeared, Jaxus directed his eyes to the yelling hunter, before turning his sharp words towards Jayce's question. "Hm...?" Jaxus raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms as he tilted his head to Jayce with interest. This should be interesting. As Jayce clapped his palms together, Jaxus took note of the rapidly shifting sands under the man, slowly sinking him into the earth below. Yet, arms still crossed, Jaxus merely watched with a mild amusement as the man began to spill what he knew. After all, the man nearly killed Persies, one of his best friends, and his traveling partner. At this point, it was probably clear Jaxus was not a happy camper, but the man sinking into the ground made him smirk slightly. "I never heard them, honestly..." Jaxus curled his index finger over his chin, closing his eyes as he attempted to think of where he heard the name before. Nothing. He drew a blank. "...Well, my turn now..." Taking the chance while the man was still terrified from Jayce's interrogation, Jaxus picked up his boomarang, now in it's smaller, more compacted form. Looking to Persies on his shoulder, he gave her a brief nod before crouching down as low as he could, he'd glare into the man's eyes with a serious expression, his emerald eyes with a firm expression. "You gonna' give us any more lip?" The man looked to the boomarang, and noticed Jaxus' hand was "shaking" as he gripped it, twitching wildly even, prompting him to gulp loudly in realization, shaking his head slightly. Even if Jaxus wouldn't kill him, the man was damn sure he was intending to leave him a bloody mess if he refused, not to mention he had just nearly been buried alive. "Good. My friend here, Persies, what do you know about them?" Jaxus briefly glanced to his bird, raising his head before turning back to the man. "You said somethin' bout' a Rainbow Pheonix, right?" "I don't know muc-" Crack! Angling the strike to not knock the man out, Jaxus swiped him in the face with the boomarang right across the nose. "AUGH! ALRIGH', ALRIGH'! They're related ta' Pheonixs, really rare, ya' can see it in their tail feathers! Every one is unique! The people at the lodge auctions pay top dollar for them, alive or not!" "Why?" "Pheonixs are extinct in Fiore, fool! They are wort-" Thwack! "ACKHA!" Jaxus bloodied his nose once more with the boomarang, getting up to his feet slowly, and pressing his hands into his back slightly, arching his spine to stretch as he mulled over the information. Pheonixs were extinct in Fiore? Looking over to Persies, Jaxus paused for a moment, deep in thought before turning to Jayce. "You wanna' ask somethin' else? I don't think he can take another hit..." Jaxus said matter of factly, offering for Jayce to take over the questions again, before he really lost his temper. Edited by SilverRush, Aug 16 2015, 02:56 AM.

"Ooooh!" Jayce winced in response to the strike that bloodied the hunter's nose. He revealed that Jaxus's bird was special by her feathers. Perhaps the information was relevant enough. "Yeah I guess I'll take it from here." he says, stepping in. "And just why does Mr.Pegasus want the carbuncle." Jayce asks. "Hell if I know. I'm only in it for the jewels. Now let me go!" he admitted. "Ah ah ah. Tell me where is this guy located." Jayce clicked. "Ehh... Trillium! But you didn't hear it from me. Now release me." Jayce thought for a minute. "Trillium, eh?" he smirks. "So is this all of ya?" he asks. As the hunter looked around, the whole gang was apprehend. "Eh.. As far as I know..." mumble the hunter. "Alright, Jax. Let's head on over there. But first we'll need to find a new place to rehabilitate this carbuncle. The creature nuzzled it's head against Jayce's leg. "We'll head on back to the guild and have somebody round these guys up." "-W-what?! You said you'd let me go?!" yelled the bound hunter. "Yes, I did. Just not by yourself." he says to him, shrugging carelessly as he would look away and continue with a couple of steps. The carbuncle promptly followed behind. "The carbuncle is quite fond of me. So I guess that means we can bring it back to the guild!" |

"Trillium, eh...?" Jaxus pondered the thought for a moment, eyes closed, curling his index finger over his chin once more. Maybe he could hunt the man down and punch them in the face until they stopped moving... "Caaaw...Caw." //Jaxus...Don't.// Of course, Persies was against such a reckless, suicidal plan, and scolded him, forcing him to let out a heavy sigh as his hands fell loosely to his sides. "Fine, fine, Persies..." Jaxus replied in a whiny tone, making it obvious that the bird was probably giving him a hassle for one reason or another. Though it was strange, Jayce probably realized Jaxus was capable of holding conversations with his bird, even if they were simple. "E-Eh...? Over to Trillium ya' mean...?" Jaxus was surprised for a moment, wondering if Jayce had the same thought as him to find this Maximillion jerk. After all, he was used to Persies reprimanding his choices when they involved picking a fight. Although, there was no telling how badly Jaxus would go off if he met them. For a moment, Jaxus noticed the fondness the Carbuncle had for Jayce, making him abit sad as a pout crossed his face. He still never got to pet the Carbuncle, and it seemed like such a rare experience... Edited by SilverRush, Aug 16 2015, 04:54 AM.

"Is the creature really willing to follow us back to the guild?" Suna says. The Ruby Carbuncle kept sniffing at his pant's leg. "Oh." Fumbling through his pockets, he found a chocolate bar stashed away in it. "Nyaa!~" It had become clear then that the carbuncle seems to have a taste for chocolate. "Well. I'm sure it is now." Jayce would say, holding up the candy bar. Breaking off a piece, he fed the creature and watch as it happily gobbled it up. Taking a step forward, the carbuncle step forward. "Apparently, it likes chocolate." Suna said. "Well we have plenty of expensive chocolates back at the guild..." "Are you bozos done yet, I'm tired of hearin' ya yappin'." whined the hunter. But in a snap, a stream of sand had zipped across his mouth before hardening, causing the hunter to produce nothing but struggling moans and groans. "Alright. Let's head out." Jayce says. With the pair of mages and trio of creatures, the wizards would begin to leave the forest. It would take a little time to leave the thick areas. |

Jaxus watched the creature with fascination, his mood quickly being calmed by the creatures presence. It was such an interesting creature, yet, so powerful as well. Apparently, it seemed to take a liking to chocolate. Lucky! This would make it easy to have it feel at home at the guild! Suddenly, as the hunter opened his big mouth again, Jaxus raised his boomarang once more, turning around to toss it at the man's head once more. Yet, as the stream of sand rapidly shot up and gagged him, Jaxus immediately broke out into a childish, juvenile laughter, taking amusement in the scene. It wasn't often he met people who approved of his over the top methods, but it was at least nice knowing Jayce wasn't scared of dealing justice in their own way, either. Since the man was already gagged, Jaxus sheathed his boomarang, Jayce having saved them from a "world" of hurt. "Yuh-Huh.~" Jaxus nodded at Jayce's instruction to head out, following him immediately, and seemingly back to his old self. As they walked through the forest, Jaxus tucked his hands behind his head, looking to the skyline of the trees above. "Wonder who this Maximillion guy is..." He muttered, thinking to himself. "E-Eh...?" Feeling a slight nudge on his leg, Jaxus looked down, seeing the Carbuncle at his feet! "Hey buuuddy.~" Jaxus slowly crouched down, reachng his hand out and before he knew it, he was petting the Carbuncle! A wide, happy grin spread across his face as he felt it's luxurious, soft, silky fur. What a fascinating creature! "Eheh. Glad we made it in time, little guy.~" Jaxus rubbed the fur inbetween it's ears playfully, before getting back up and continuing to follow Jayce as the Carbuncle rushed back to him. "Ey, Jayce, mind if we get somethin' to eat at the guild hall before headin' out again?~" With not one, but two growls, one from his stomach, and the other from Persies, it was probably clear both of them had worked up an appetite. Food was nearly almost always on their minds, apparently. |
