Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

"What in the world..."

Michael arrived at the crime scene inconspicuously, wearing normal civilian clothes. A flashy yellow tape with the inscription in blue 'DO NOT CROSS'. The people would not let him in, but one of the knights he had in his pocket gave a bullshit story about him being from a special unit. Michael nodded to him as the knight angrily left the scene.

The young man went into the bar and what he saw made him angry. Bodies were lying down in different positions. Each gave the impression that whoever or whatever did this, it did not do it without the victims putting up a fight. The blood that drenched the walls, chairs, tables and floor in red was the result of clean, precise slashes and cuts, meant to savagely kill. What made Michael angry wasn't the scene or the fact that people died; it was who had been killed.

Each and every individual was a member of the Raven Tail guild.

Whoever did this knew which tree it was barking against. That person would learn soon that it was the wrong tree.

He looked at the six victims. All of them, people with whom he had worked with, had good relations with, had served the guild well.

Roksana.

Johnny.

Lazlo.

Emily.

Seth.

Netero.

He looked at the lead investigating knight on the affair. "Do we have any leads, Corporal DeKnight?" The man shook his head, take a large drag of water from his water bottle. "Honestly, and this is from someone who survived the war against Bosco and the Demon Invasion... This is something new to me. Crimes like these... they don't involve that level of weird." Michael understood. The targets had been specifically chosen for their allegiance to Raven Tail and they had not been murdered, they had been executed. The means through which they did, however, was the factor that he couldn't put his fingers.

"Well, do you know how they were killed?" "We think it's either with those Wolverine-type claw weapons, a summoning magic involving a clawed creature or a Beast-Type Takeover magic. The strength and power of this... it's definitely a mage."

As assigned from a few of his superiors, Adam was headed to investigate the latest deaths of Raven Tail members who were unlucky enough to meet the "Beast of Trillium" as one of the mages had put it. The whole ordeal was relatively simple, find the perpetrator of these feral acts, take him out. This whole situation was not strange to the Nightingale, but it was mildly interesting. More often than not, instead of being disgusted by such horrific acts of murder, it honestly just drew out his curiosity.

Thanks to the skills provided to him, though unwillingly, by his father, Adam had everything under his arsenal. His experience and gear as a spy proved to be useless against these mindless imbeciles who were supposed to be the Knights of Fiore. To prove his membership in the Knights, he bared the insignia of the Knights on his right shoulder (which we had gotten from a tattooist specialised in placing symbols of other guilds onto the user for infiltration, sabotage, and the like). And as they let him in, he thought, What idiots...

The mage quickly began inspecting each and every dead body, looking for clues or leads that could bring their spirits rest...and Adam some money. His eyes navigated their figures, checking pockets, jackets, anything that could possibly help, but nothing came. All he had found was spare change and a pocket knife. Then, something caught his eye, it looked lodge in one of the gnashes that had been inflicted on Roksana, he looked around, making sure no one was watching before quickly pulling it out, showing the claw of what looked like a beast. Adam let out an accomplished smirk, before moving away from the corpses.

Seconds later, an instantly recognisable Raven walked into the scene, the Nightingale smiled. Look who finally came. Adam took a deep breath, placing his hand in his pockets and saying, "Looks like hunting season's begun.

"Don't worry, Walker. Raven's don't fly alone." Adam stated, and even though that was factually incorrect, he hoped that the other mage would get the subtle message, continuing with an introduction "My name's Adam, by the way."

His eyes drifted to the bodies of his fallen comrades, the manner of their death quite gruesome, but his eyes lingered more out of pure fascination than necessity, "I initially thought that the amount of wounds inflicted on the victims were for torture. But, examining closer, you can see that the killing blow was inflicted first."

Adam sighed, scratching his head and gesturing Michael to move closer to the corpses, "Look, you can see it on Lazlo as well as everyone else. The rest of the lacerations are more fresh than the ones that'd kill them, and from the looks of it, all of their deaths were caused by a clawing or biting off their throats."

He slowly stood up, his hazel coloured eyes slightly raising up to meet the taller man's eyes, "But the reason for these murders are as good as yours. I don't even know why they were all meeting up here, in all honesty."

The Nightingale gestured the fellow Raven to move to a more secluded corner of the area, walking over there and once Michael followed, he'd say, "Look, Michael. I found this on Roksana's corpse."

He revealed what was inside his pocket, which looked like it belonged to a beast of considerable size. The claw was reddish-white, most likely because of the bloodstains, and it was roughly 2 inches long. "I know it's not much, but it's the only thing I could snag from their bodies without getting caught by that blundering party of buffoons. The killer is definitely not a normal person though, so that scratches out your prior suggestion of guy with claw-weapons. Definitely a Beast Takeover mage or a summoner."

Adam gestured toward the corpses, "Do you wanna try and take a crack at it?"

While it was true most of the knights stationed in Trillium were idiots, there were a few exceptions. One was the man he had in his pocket, Officer Jonas Stilinski. The second was the coroner, Dr. Jenna Fotopoulos (a hot piece of ass too) and finally, Corporal Steven DeKnight. He was smart and he always said the right words to help him figure things out. This time was no exception.

"If I check thess wounds... This are not normal kills, so we can rule out a man with claw-weapons. For example, every single one of them have different injuries on their necks. Resemble more fang than claw. So you are right to assume that it's a beast with claws." The knight sighed in worry. "This is not the first time. We've kept it hush hush, but... there is something that has been running around Trillium killing people." Michael nodded. "I know. I've been trying to catch it, but the clues never seem to stay. This is the first concrete lead I've had in two weeks."

Michael approached Seth's body, covered his opened scared eyes and slowly closed them. Too bad it was the death of fellow guildmates that gave me those leads... Suddenly, he felt a small presence he had not felt before, his mind too focused on solving this mystery. Michael turned around and saw a member of his guild. For a second, he didn't recognize him, until he started speaking. Adam... Mooson? No, it's Adam Mason. Michael made it a habit of knowing who was part of the guild. Beyond that, he only bothered remembering if he actually met the person. He would then add them to the list.

He didn't think Adam had anything more to add; however, he proved him wrong on two occasions. One, he had noticed that the claw marks had been done after the killing blow. Second, the claw he was able to recover stealthily off of Roksana's body was a major plus. Michael smiled at the Nightingale. "Good job, Mason. I'm happy our guild has so many competent guys like us." He then took the claw and examined it. "I would've said something like a wolf, but... the transparency, its humid exterior... Looks more like some magic lizard beast..." He looked around, placed it in a small pouch and put it in his pocket. "I know a guy who can analyze this and tell us more."

They wouldn't have that chance right away, because as soon as they stepped outside, a strong presence was felt. A chilling one, one Michael felt very powerfully and one Adam would feel as well, like a long cold shiver that went deep into their hearts. Michael only caught a glimpse of what did this. A green, slithering tail that vanished between buildings. In broad daylight?!

"Come, we have to catch it!!"

Upon entering the crime scene, there were a few faces that Adam recognized. One was Officer Stilinski, whose loyalty only depended on the highest bidder (which luckily, Raven Tail had continuously made sure that it was them). However, Adam did not bother to greet the officer for he had no reason too, and not to mention the fact that his breath reeked of alcohol, drugs, and whatever abusive substance he decided to shove down his esophagus. The other was a coroner who seemed far too attractive to hold such a job. Adam recalled her name as something like Juniper...whatever it was, it seemed that she was far too uptight to do her own job, resorting Adam to inspect the bodies by himself.

Upon his own personal investigation, he had managed to obtain multiple leads and clues toward the perpetrators identity and Magic type. The Nightingale had managed to deduce that a majority of the wounds were inflicted postmortem, usually meaning that the killer has a lack of self control. Not to mention, he had found a claw inside one of the gnashes inflicted upon Roksana. Perhaps...a summoner without the proper training for his beast? Or...a takeover Mage gone wild?

However, as Adam realized that he and Michael had never seen each other until this day, the Metahuman stated, "You probably haven't met me before, I don't usually hang around the guild hall, I'm not exactly one for socializing."

His word were a tad bit harsh, but nonetheless true. The Nightingale had only joined Raven Tail because they provided a steady paycheck and not to mention they weren't as obnoxious and destructive as the other dark guilds, his talents wee best put to use in the mafia-esque group. And yet, here he was, working with the new yet very high profile guild member. Adam let out a quiet chuckle at the realization of the irony, hoping Michael didn't mistake his laugh for mocking the dead guidmates.

"I'd hope so, Walker. We're much more than just a rambunctious dark guild who mindlessly destroys property. We're a criminal empire, a mafia. And those who hurt our fellow members will pay tenfold. Adam smirked, quietly enjoying his monologue. Although in all honesty, he had no personal connections with these members, to him, they're just a bunch of beings who ceased to be. No emotion, no heartache, nothing.

"A lizard, eh? Interesting, I wouldn't have guessed as much, never really fought reptile takeover mages, mostly just mammals and the like." Adam said, before nodding at Michael's suggestion at going to a man who could properly analyze the claw. The metahuman Mage gestured the way out of the crime scene, "Lead the way, boss."

Suddenly, a gut wrenching presence wracked throughout both Mage's bodies, "The...hell? Adam cursed aloud, feeling a strange coldness despite the sun shining bright in the sky. Then, he saw it, or...a part of it. A long green tail slithering away from the public eye as Michael had suddenly charged towards the beast, The Nightingale quickly following his superior as best as he could, shouting back, "Right behind you! Don't let it get away!"

Michael turned the corner, only to miss the appearance of the creature. However, when Adam caught up to him, his presence made Michael more alert, and he saw the creature again, in its full glory, on top of a building. It was, to be put bluntly, one scary motherfucker.

It was a reptilian-like creature, the size of the average human male. It was dark green in color, covered in scales that shone with a liquid substance in the sun. Its head was like a human being's, except for the lack of a long nose and the sharp, predator-like teeth stemming from its mouth. Its eyes were just like any reptiles, slinted vertically and black, with a yellow sclera. Its claws were long and clear, secreting a liquid, just like the one Adam had found on Roksana. The most prominent feature, however, was its long prehensile tail that wavered ever so calmly in the air.

Michael noticed that one of its claws was slowing growing back as well. That's the monster! It stopped moving, looking directly at both Raven Tail members. Suddenly, it started moving, no, running away from them. Michael looked at Adam. "You cover the ground. Try to follow its movement; it doesn't seem to be that fast. I'll go on the rooftop and run after it. If you see it, shout his position to me!" Before Adam could object or say anything else, Michael leaped from wall to wall until he ended up on the rooftop.

He saw the creature turning around, two buildings away from him. It squinted its eyes and let out a shriek, profoundly inhumane. It then continued its way, staying on the ledges. The Mana Marksman pulled out his two pistols, readying himself for combat and ran after the monster.

Adam quickly followed the pursuit, attempting to follow the dark, green, scaly tail that disappeared into the alleyways, his foot gracefully pivoting around the corner and began sprinting after the creature, eventually catching up to his superior and in between pants, asked, "Why'd you sto-"

And that's when he saw it. A horrendously grotesque being that somewhat resembled a human being, but only in skeletal shape. The rest was just this terrifying amalgamation of reptilian body parts that could only be thought up in the dark recesses of a child's most terrifying nightmare. The monster's scales were a very dark shade of green, it's entire body seemingly coated in an unknown liquid that shone quite prominently in the sun. It's head looked just like any other humans, aside from the scales...and the teeth made to tear out a person's throat.

"Walker, that claw is dripping with some kind of liquid. Whatever it is, I'm positive that its some kind of poison used against it's prey. Regardless of the type of poison, I think it's best we avoid those claws, don't really want any of us to come back in casket tonight." Adam stated, his hazel colored eyes glaring at the beast, which was doing the same to both of the Raven's. It was as if the reptile was expecting the two to make the first move.

That's when the chase began. The lizard an turned around and bolted off, in what looked like an attempt to flee from the two vengeful mages. As Adam listened intently at Michael's instructions, nodding in acknowledgement, "Understood. Let's go!" And with that, Adam started running as fast as he could, keeping his eyes in the rooftops where the murderous reptile was running. It was at a distance where it'd take quite a bit of effort for the Nightingale to catch up.

"Two buildings ahead! The distance in between each building is pretty far but you'll make it!" Adam called out, having heard the capabilities of the Mana Marksman.

The lizard quickly spun to the right, jumping across to an adjacent building which conveniently also had an alleyway below. The Nightingale quickly turned to the said alleyway and continued the pursuit, the lizards strides long and seemingly effortless. "He turned left! Heading down towards the same road where Jarvis & Co. are located!" The company that Adam had mentioned was renowned by most Raven's as one of their most prominent fences, a place that Adam frequented often whenever he stole goods.

The beast then leapt onto the Jarvis & Co. building itself, continuing to run until it leapt up to the next building, Adam starting to feel a slight fatigue, but brushed it off as best he could for the time being. He looked up and realized that it had stopped turning and simply started to speed up. The Nightingale quickly relayed this information to the Marksman, "It's a straight shot from here! Get him!"

Adam was well into the chase, using his athletic abilities as best he could to catch up the monster that had managed to murder six Raven's. He was slowly catching up to the feral mage/thing. Then, the beast suddenly let out an ear-piercing screech that caused Adam to flinch for a brief moment, and looking back up to realize that he had lost the lizard's trail, the Nightingale swearing, "Fuck! He's gone!"

However, as he swore, he heard an inhuman growl from a few meters ahead of him. And when Adam looked ahead, he saw the target, staring directly at him. The Metahuman mage remained dead silent, which he hoped that Michael got the subtle message, knowing that until that moment, Adam had been barking out the directions of the animal.

His hands slowly but steadily reached for his back, where his two shock batons were sheathed, knowing that an unarmed battle between this horrific battle would end up with another dead Raven. But before he could reach for his weapons, the lizard shot out acid spray from his mouth, the liquids luckily only catching onto his hoodie and quickly corroding the material, "Son of a-" Adam e cut himself off removing his jacket as fast as possible, but not before some of it caught onto his forearm, leaving a strong, burning, painful sensation ringing throughout.

Adam started running again, calling out the events to Michael, "He jumped down the rooftops and is running down the alley! That asshole got me in the arm by shooting out acid from his mouth! Go! I'll catch up as best I can!"

Michael watched the lizard slither away with relative speed, but the greater difficulty would be to follow it through the many rooftops of the city. The main issue was that its dark, green color would make it harder for him to see; the idea was that Adam, from an angle where the sun would make its liquid-covered body shine, would make the decisions for him, and the mage would follow the monster solely on his guildmate's instructions.

He nodded at Adam's suggestion that the liquid dripping from its claws and oozing from its scales was a poison of sorts. "You're probably right," Michael said, "That's why we'll try to hit it from a distance." He jumped on the roof and ran.

The mage ran across the roofs, going through the shortest amount of distance in order to catch up to their murderer. He kept losing track of it, possibly its ability to camouflage a little with its scales' color. However, Adam came through. Michael pumped his legs with some ki and in one giant leap, went across two rooftops in one bound. He landed and did a barrel roll, making sure that his legs wouldn't get most of the stress. He continued on, trying to cut off the beast by turning left from his position towards the Jarvis & Co. building.

He took out one of his pistols (the white one) and aimed at the beast as it landed on the company's building, but monster was fast, its reflexes permitting it to shred through the mana bullet shot at it. It's a fast little fucker. It continued straight ahead, with Michael jumping from roof to roof diagonally, trying to catch up to the beast, up until it disappeared into the alleys. The most alarming thing, however, was the overwhelming silence by his guildmate. Shit!

He went and descended into the alleys, only to witness Adam's arm slightly burned. Michael focused his energy and followed the trail of the creature, having finally a lock on its life force.

It can shoot acid too?! What kind of monster is that? Michael followed it at the end of another alley, unsheathing a second pistol. He spun his weapons around as the creature let loose another inhuman hiss and roar. It started to run at him, but then a large voice boomed. "STOP!" A man appeared out of thin air, right next to the beast. His life force was practically none existent, not enough to actually use to locate him again. The creature's tail was wrapped around the legs, but not to hurt him. No, it's... protecting him? He couldn't see his face or anything, but one thing was for certain now...

The beast was definitely a special summon.

The man raised his hands. Michael reacted just fast enough, shooting an explosive bullet towards the wave of darkness that came his way. The ensuing explosion blasted him backwards into the streeté. As he skidded on the ground of the road, he looked up to see that the monster and its master disappeared.

Michael found Adam and explained to him the situation. "It's a dead end over there. We'll take the claw to my guy and have it analyze it."

"Easy for you to say, Marksman, the only weapons I have are my two escrima sticks." Adam sighed, his eyes moving toward Michael's two pistols. "I really should get myself into buying one of those. It'd make assassination contracts much more easy." He muttered, clearing his throat before beginning to chase after the murderous lizard man.

The Nightingale did as he was instructed by his superior and began navigating through the alleyways of this now crime-ridden city. Each narrow passageway brought out everything that was wrong with this city. Adam had stepped on more than a few rats while chasing the predator that had killed. Also while on his way, the Metahuman had also seen a number of drug dealings, both vendor and buyer not paying attention to the current chase scene since murder, assault, and worse happened in this broken city on a daily basis.

So, to most people who resided in this city, a creature like that humanoid lizard running across the rooftops was barely an oddity. Adam started shouting out the instructions to Michael, helping the B-class mage with catching that slippery bastard and hopefully ending this whole ordeal so they could both come home with a tidy pay check for avenging their fellow members.

And as Adam had began running by the building Jarvis & Co. He heard a gunshot come from the rooftops in what he could only assume was Michael attempting to end this chase, but the beast somehow dodged the bullet. The son of a bitch can run like hell, I'll give it that. Adam thought, his hazel eyes following the beast as best they could, continuing to shout out directions.

However, once the beast had disappeared into the alleyways, jumping down into the unknown, the Nightingale felt a fleeting sense of defeat, angry with himself that he still lacked the strength and tenacity to keep up with the creature. However, that emotion dissipated once he heard a frighteningly familiar growl. His eyes lowered until it met with the lizard's, and what it did next made Adam shiver. In all of his years, the Nightingale had dealt with too many ordeals, monsters guarding the treasures he was meant to steal, targets from his assassination contracts who had done crimes too horrifying to put into words, and he had gotten used to that world. But the fact that the humanoid beast was not only baring it's teeth, but grinning, that was creepy.

The animal was grinning widely, as if it was overjoyed that it'd be able to maul apart it's next victim: Adam. It's yellow eyes examined the Raven curiously, the thing tilting it's head as Adam got out of his temporary daze and began drawing his weapons. The lizard let out an inhuman screech as it realised what he was about to do and fired out a projectile of acid at the Nightingale, leaving him to do nothing but slide out of his hoodie which had been hit, getting a small dose of it on his arm which still left a noticeable and quite painful burn.

Michael had caught up to the Nightingale, before Adam had shouted at him to keep going, which the Marksman did. The D-Class Raven did his best to catch up, clutching his damaged forearm and running as best he could to catch up. However, he did not arrive in time to witness the event of the second man entering the fray and disappearing with the Lizard, what was now confirmed as his summon.

"Michael, what the hell happened? Where's the reptile?" Adam asked, his voice now carrying a slight edge to it, before the other Raven replied with a vague answer. The Nightingale was ready to voice his disagreement, but conceded and simply nodded, "As always, lead the way, Mana."

As the higher class mage lead the way, Adam was certain that something had gone down that he had missed, and it wasn't until the curiosity of the escrima-wielding spy asked, "Something went down over there, and I'm certain that it was something important. What did you see, Michael?" Adam asked, narrowing his eyes, clearly agitated that his partner wasn't sharing all the details.

But, regardless of whether the gun-toting mage answered or not, they soon arrived at their destination, a worn out door in the middle of an empty and filthy alleyway, "This is the place?" He asked, scratching his head before swinging open the door, cautiously gazing at the surroundings before a tall, lanky man entered the scene, screaming,

"NO YOU FILTHY DOGS, I DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING JEWELS SO PISS O-" The man stopped as soon as he saw Michael, and immediately bared his pearly whites in a smile, "Michael! My friend! Long time no see! Are you here for the luxury of my company or-"

"We're here for strictly business purposes. We need you to track someone...well something down." Adam stated, narrowing his eyes, still clutching his wounds as the man sighed, muttering, "Raven's, always getting down to business, no pleasure, well, at least when I'm around. How can I help you guildies?"

Adam looked over to his superior, saying, "You have the claw and you know the guy, show it to him."

Seeing as how Adam was insisting on Michael telling him exactly what happened when he was getting up from getting splashed by acid, the mage sighed. "Alright," he said, "We have a bigger problem then expected. There was a man right next to the monster when I finally caught up to it. Not only that, that man, whomever he is, seemed to wield a form of darkness or wave magic. It wasn't strong, but enough that I had to use my guns again." Michael bent down on the ground and drew two columns. On top of the first one he wrote 'Takeover' and in the second he wrote 'Summon'.

"We said that our culprit could be using either of those magics, right? However, what I didn't tell the Knights, something that possibly none of them thought of, is that it creates two seperate situations." He drew, in the Takeover column, a stick figure, a downward arrow followed by a very poor depiction of the lizard creature they fought. "If it was a Takeover mage, then all we had to do is find the creature again and kill it."

He then drew in the Summon column two stick figures. An arrow connected the first one to the second, while another arrow connected the second to another bad drawing of the beast. "However, if we are dealing with a summon, then finding the monster, while crucial, is secondary. The person controlling him is the one we want, and unfortunately, until we gather more info, we have zero chance of stopping him. Heck, we don't even know if that thing is a normal summon or more in the lines of multiple people controlling it."

They left after his explanation and finally got to Michael's contact's house. "Hey, Jack. Adam, this is Jack Hanna, a zooligist and expert on the various beasts and creatures of Fiore, Caelum and Bosco. He has also other skills, but they are needed today." Jack laughed and took a look at the claw Michael gave him. "A giant lizard, I assume, judging by the clarity and size of the claw, human-size and this liq-" He paused for a second, stunned by something. "That liquid, we assume, is a poison meant to slowly kill its prey or enemies. It shot acid at my partner here when he got close." The man still looked shocked.

He quickly put the claw down and went into one of his many books. He went furiously through the pages and shoved the open book in their faces. The left page had a drawing of the same creature the Ravens had faced. "Is this your monster?!" The mage nodded and Jack let out a 'oh no', rubbing his head. "What? What is it?" The man sat down. "That liquid is not a poison, it's a strong paralytic venom made to paralyze anyone it scratches deep enough for hours." Michael approached the man, his eyes glowing. "Tell me everything."

The man sighed. "That creature," he started, pointing the two pages that concerned the beast, "Is called the Kanima. Sometimes, a Takeover mage learns a new form, but something goes amiss. If that person's personality matches that of a snake, a traitor or liar, the Takeover form deforms into that. However, it then seeks a master to guide it on its new path, since this was not what the user intended."

"What the hell's that supposed to mean? What's bigger than a ravenous, serial-killing, giant lizard?" Adam asked sarcastically, temporarily removing his hand from his wound and scratching his head as Michael explained the revelation that made this whole fiesta more complicated and relatively irritating than it already was, "Essentially, what your saying is, regardless of whether or not we kill the damn beast, it can always be revived by that summoner as long as he draws breath?"

However, as Michael began a mini-lecture on the differences between what the current objective would be like if they were after a takeover mage versus if they were fighting a summoning mage, like this one. If this had been a takeover mage that they were against, then all they'd have to do is kill the damn reptile and be done with it. However, since this whole ordeal seems to have been caused because of a summoner, then slaying the beast is not the primary objective, because, given time, the mage would just be able to re-summon the creature and restart this whole fiasco all over again.

Adam groaned, "Honestly, there should be a rule where everytime the plot thickens for a mission, so should the pay." He muttered sourly, starting to get aggravated by the fact that he lacked the physical strength and speed to be able to catch up to the menace, before scratching his head as the superior mage explained to the Nightingale how without the proper information, they essentially have nothing to go on,"And since both the summoner and the lizard have basically disappeared without a trace, we're back to square one." The Metahuman mage concluded.

After the mini-lesson on what catching a culprit that's a takeover mage rather than a summoning mage was, they head over to the next logical destination: an informant well-versed in monster/cryptid knowledge. If they could find out where it usually lurked or rested, they'd be able to dispatch of the thing with relative ease, extra bonus if this informant knew of any Kanima weaknesses.

However, upon entering what was supposed to be where the man was located, the two were greeted by an eccentric, loud man whose personality slightly perturbed Adam, or perhaps it was just his foul mood considering the fact that this whole mission was going to be longer than he had originally anticipated.

"Let's skip the formalities, Hanna, and get to work. We need to find a certain kind of beast. We have a claw from it, and we hope that you know what it is." Adam gestured towards Michael, who passed the claw to Jack, who immediately got down to business, truly revealing that he was a professional in his field.

The Nightingale nodded as Jack began to spout information, still clutching on his wound as Michael mentioned the fact that he had been shot with the poison that had managed to burn his arm quite painfully. Although that was debunked, revealing that it was strong paralytic venom, "Wait a minute, but I'm not paralysed. That doesn't make any se-"

"Of course you haven't been affected! It didn't enter your bloodstream, if it did, you'd probably be immobile and in immense pain for several hours." Hanna cut him off, before he turned to Michael and began to pour vast amounts of information onto the two. The name, the origin, and the type of mage it affects.

"So...it's a takeover mage under the control of a...summoner?" Adam asked, still slightly confused about the situation.

"No, it's a takeover mage whose traits as a person causes a deformity in their magic and ends up taking the form of the Kanima, and a Kanima seeks a master, regardless whether it's a summoner or mage, hell, it doesn't even have to be a mage..oh, by any chance...did your Kanima have wings?"

"What, wings? The hell are you talking about?" Adam said, creasing his brow.

"That's...not good." Hanna stated, flipping through his book before showing him an illustration of what the fully evolved Kanima looked like, which, to the Nightingale's eyes, was an even more nightmarish creature than it's original form, "It'll get immensely stronger, much more vicious, easily aggravated, hell, the master might not even be able to fully control it anymore once it reaches that stage. It grows a spiked tail and gets spikes protruding externally from it's spine, not pretty stuff."

The D-Class Mage swore, "Fuck. So it's going to become an even bigger nuisance than before?"

Jack nodded, "A fully evolved Kanima is trouble. big trouble, luckily, a "baby" Kanima has to cocoon itself for at least several hours before becoming fully evolved, so you have time. Oh! And, they can only do that in incredibly dark areas."

Adam chuckled dryly, looking back at the door, muttering, "Welcome to Trillium."
