Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

”I don’t think the forest necessarily had a hand in this,” she started. It seemed like there was a fairly slim possibility that any animals were involved in this, let alone some plants. This was just a simple case of human error as far as she could tell. ”I would be fairly surprised if an animal picked one of the pokeballs up and ate it or something. I don’t think the things are even edible, so it’d be weird if an animal decided to fancy a bite or took one off somewhere. For now, let’s keep our search fairly close to the hill. We should be able to find at least some of them without going far.”

This time, it sounded less like an order, and more like a suggestion. She was still confident in her tone, but she didn’t really feel right ordering Yuurei around. He’d given off a bad vibe after she had done it last time, and she didn’t want to accidentally piss off someone who could kill her in one breath. That was never a good plan, even if the Dragon Slayer would probably never go that far with her. It would still pay to be careful, especially given that she was “getting graded” on this mission’s outcome and execution.

Either way, she started her search near the base of the hill. She made her way around the hill’s base first. A decent amount of thought had gone into the best search pattern to use, and she’d eventually decided on concentric circles of increasing sizes. The circles would offer a bit of redundancy, but not much. On the other hand, they made it rather easy to ensure uniform progress without missing an area or wasting a ton of time rechecking previously checked locations. It also had the advantage of checking nearby, where there were more likely to be pokeballs, sooner rather than later. If they started far away and didn’t find any because they had gone out too far, it would just mean a bunch of wasted time.

Though she still had plenty of room to grow as a mage, her mind was already serving them quite well. Within the first half of a circuit around the hill, she’d already found the first of the items they were looking for. It was half buried in the dirt right up against a particularly sharp drop off the hill. The Lamia Scale Mage reached down, grabbed it, and showed it off to the Dragon Slayer. ”Well, I’d say that this is what we’re looking for. Only nine more to go.” Hopefully the entire job would be this easy, as it was rather tedious, boring work.

Yuurei had heard her words, but didn’t say anything about it. He just smiled at her because it could happen. There were times where animals just got too hungry and ate the first thing that looked edible. There were animals who didn’t chew on their meal and just swallowed it whole for digestion later on. Still, he hope that never happened because he didn’t want to cut up an animal just to get something that somebody had lost. It seemed like she wanted them to search close to the base of the hill right now. He was okay with that as he nodded with a smile on his face. They were trying to get this job done with, so they could get paid. It seemed like the more job she did, then the easier it would be for her to be more reliant on these things. It also helped that she was with him because people would know her faster.

He was moving around as he kept close to her, but was looking in the other direction where Razia wasn’t looking. They were together, so it meant that they were still making their search faster than if they were on their own. He was looking around as he could find anything but twigs and other stuff that were on the floor. It seemed like he was having no luck with this search, and then it seemed like she was quick to find one of the pokeballs that Ash had dropped. He stopped his search and looked over to see it. They knew they were round shape, but he didn’t really know exactly how they looked. He had described it easily, but still now that he seen it with his eyes it wouldn’t be hard to look for now. It was nice and small, but how could that keep something inside of it.

He was glad she had found one of the ten, but it only meant that they needed a large amount to go. She was quick to bring that up and he could only chuckle when he heard that. It was not something he found pleasing to hear. Still, it was work and if it was boring, or repetitive it didn’t mean anything. They still needed to get the job done, which was actually what work was. He had stopped looking at the ball though and he looked around as well. He knew what he was looking for now and now it was all on the matter, if he would be able to spot it. He kept looking around though as he just looked down and made sure he was looking in the direction that Razia was looking in.

It didn’t take long for him to come to a stop as he was able to find one. He was around a tree as he was anxious to get on this, but then he looked around it and noticed that one of the pokeball were on the side of this tree. He smiled as it looked like this one was trying to be under the shade this whole entire time. ”I found one Razia. Seems like this one doesn’t like the sun, so it was hiding under a tree,” he said as that was good that he was able to find one. It only meant that their search for the pokeballs had gone down from ten to eight without a problem.

If ever there was a slow and tedious job to be on, this was it. The first two pokeballs had been found relatively quickly, but their luck dwindled fairly quickly thereafter. The entire opening was searched in fairly short order, but after that, it was going to get rough. ”I’d like to think that neither of us are careless enough to have missed one of them. Some of those trees have branches that are stretching up close enough that one could have rolled into it. You want to check up there? I’ll start checking the first ring of trees around the clearing at ground level.” She had seen him staring off at the flora quite often, and it was pretty clear that he enjoyed the setting far more than she did. There was no harm in letting him enjoy that a bit, especially since there was a good chance it was actually helpful to the mission if he went off and climbed trees for a bit.

As for the Exquip Mage, she made her way out into the tree line and began to search around a bit. As before, it was a slow circle around the area. This was even slower though. She was farther out from the hill, and that meant it was a bigger circle to walk. On top of that, there were trees everywhere, which meant she had to weave around and between their trunks. On top of that she had to check every side of the trees, not just one side. Her search time was increased quite a bit because of those factors.

It wasn’t for naught though. She found one more of the pokeballs nestled amongst the roots of a tree. But when the Exquip Mage stood back up from grabbing it, she realized she was looking a bear right in the face. ”Nice bear… good bear…” It didn’t seem to take her attempts at soothing it very nicely. It roared right in her face. Without wasting a second, Razia scampered up the tree behind her. It tried to chase after her, but it seemed to know that the thin branches the Lamia Scale Mage had made her way to wouldn’t support the weight of the predator.

Really, this was just a moral dilemma. She didn’t want to kill the bear, but it wouldn’t be that hard. From her perch in the tree, she could fairly easily just requip a sword, jump down, and stab that bear into the afterlife… but the question was whether or not the bear deserved it. It was a predator, and it was trying to kill her, but that didn’t necessarily mean it’s death was deserved. Eating things was the natural order of the wild, and killing an animal just for fulfilling its role didn’t quite sit right with her. Ah well, she’d figure it out sooner or later.

Yuurei thought it would be easy and the other pokeballs would be around the location, but that wasn’t the case. It seemed like they weren’t able to find anything and he was sure that he didn’t miss anything. This was bit of annoyance, but he had said that it could be further and at least they were looking in the same place where he had looked in. Still, he figured this is when the other pokeballs would take longer to din and he stood straight up as he looked over Razia as she had spoken up to him. He listen to her and it seemed like she was suggesting that she would go up on the tree to check things up from that point of view. He had smile because it wasn’t what she really said, but it was how he interpreted her words. He figured it wouldn’t hurt and at the same time he might find something.

He didn’t hesitate and he was quick to move up on the tree. Yuurei used his hands and feet to scale up onto the nearest branch and pulled himself up. He was crouching on the branch and he made sure he didn’t put all of his weight on it. He looked around the facility and didn’t see any pokeballs around the area. He wasn’t sure they were up here, but he looked around to make sure of it and he jumped off in a direction. This direction was in the same one that Razia was moving in. She had said they were going to search as a group, which meant he wasn’t going to separate from her. He had landed on another tree branch as he it moved up and down for a bit. He looked around again and this time he had seen a pokeball in the nest of baby bird eggs.

The bird wasn’t around as it was probably looking for food and he started moving closer to the nest. While he was getting closer he could hear a roar coming from below him and he noticed that Razia was in trouble. He sighed because he was going to have to do this real fast. He noticed that she had climbed a nearby tree and the bear was not happy with it, but that wasn’t going to be the only thing that happened. The Dragon Slayer had grabbed ahold of another pokeball, but when he did it seemed like the mother of all these eggs had returned at the wrong time. It was quick to peck Yuurei on the back of his head as he brushed the back of his head to get the bird away from him, but he had lost his balance.

His eyes widen as he was trying to regain it, but it was too late. He motioned his hands over and over again, but he was sent falling to the ground. He didn’t fall straight down, but in an angle and when he fell on the ground he landed on something soft big and fat. He looked down and noticed that it was a bear as well, but the thing was knocked out cold from the impact. Yuurei looked up at Razia and the bird left him alone because she saw that none of her eggs had been taken, but he did get a pokeball. However, he was able to fall on top of a bear and made him unconscious all at the same time. He could only laugh because it was not something to expect. ”Well you look nice up there,” he said to Razia with a smile on his face.

Or maybe she wouldn’t have to figure it out. Yuurei had fallen out of a tree, and landed right on top of the bear. So much for a big moral dilemma. The Dragon Slayer had knocked the beast out cold. She was about to thank him, but then he made the mistake of cracking a joke and it ruined the chance. The Exquip Mage debated repeating the stunt he had just pulled, but with him as the victim rather than the bear. Then again, he’d probably have liked Razia flying at him butt first, so she opted for just telling him, ”Oh shove it.”

The Exquip Mage dismounted the tree and resumed her search. She wasn’t actually mad with him, and her words had been playful, not full of malice or anything. It was more that she just wasn’t really a fan of this boring work, and she didn’t really feel like being made fun of on top of that. Still, she did acknowledge that he had bailed her out back there. ”Thanks for knocking that guy out though. Saved me the trouble.”

From there, it was back to searching for the pokeballs. The search around the first ring of trees turned up one more at ground level, but there was a big problem at this point. ”We’ve got a lot more ground to cover at this point. Every circle farther out we get means we have that much more ground to cover. If we want to finish before sundown, we’re going to have to split up now. You go in the circle one way, and I’ll go the opposite way. When we meet back up, we move one ring farther away, turn around, and go in another half-circle each. If we don’t see the other when we hit the halfway mark then that probably means something happened, and we’ll know where to look.”

She gave Yuurei a moment to let the new plan sink in. It was a fairly simple plan in practice, but it was a good compromise between safety and speed. It had the speed of them splitting up completely, but this way they could still notice if the other was in trouble decently quickly. Hopefully that’d be enough to help out with any major issues they ran into.

”Sound good?” Assuming the Dragon Slayer had no objections, she turned and set off back in the same direction they had been going, but a bit farther out from the hill. Hopefully they’d find the rest of them soon, and this boring mission could be over with.

Yuurei was looking up at the tree where Razia was at and it seemed like she didn’t like what he said, but he could only smile at her and he could only chuckle when he heard what she said. He got up and off the bear and he could only chuckle when he saw the poor guy on the ground. ”I guess he never seen that coming. I actually didn’t see it coming either,” he said to himself as Razia could probably hear him as well. He looked at her as she thanked him and he laughed a bit. ”I didn’t know where I was falling to though. Thank god for aggressive bears I guess,” he chuckled a bit as he was ready to make his way through the forest and continue on with the search that they needed to handle. It was their job of course, so he wasn’t complaining.

He continued on the area with Razia and it seemed like things weren’t going good. He couldn’t find anything right now, which sucked, but now they done scouting the area where they had searched for. It was just going around a circle, but hey that was what they needed to do. He was glad that they didn’t have to fight something for to retrieve the ten balls. He figured that could be something that their last mission could be about. They haven’t had one of those jobs right? Well they did, but the fight with Hentai Kamen didn’t count, or at least in his eyes he didn’t see it like that. It was more like their job was to please the man more than anything. ”Alright sounds like a plan and one that I like,” he said to her with a smile on his face.

Yuurei had made his decision rather quickly. It wasn’t hard to think about and splitting up right now would be the best. They wouldn’t want to stay here for hours and the fact that they were meeting up before moving further was also a good plan. It was nice to know she was smart, so he didn’t have to say much or plan ahead. It was people like this that he enjoyed; Yuurei had walked off in the opposite direction of Razia now. He was looking around the area, but having to move through the ground was quite annoying to him. He had looked around the trees, but couldn’t find anything. He had moved around in the bushes to check, but there was nothing in those areas. He scratched his head as he wonder how far these pokeballs could actually roll. They had four of the ten now, so it meant it shouldn’t be hard for them to find the other six right?

The Dragon Slayer looked around and figured that he could go up on the tree and look up from there. He could use a bird eyes view of things. There weren’t much brushes for him to go through, so he figured he could do his search from above again. The Dragon slayer had climbed the tree quickly and when he did he looked around as if he were truly scouting the area. ”Nothing around here,” he said as he was quick to jump towards another tree and looking around it with ease and around the branches to make sure they didn’t appear on the tree branches for some reason. Still, he was okay with this and even though it was tedious he was happy that he could enjoy nature. He smell the forest air and found it very pleasing.

Though things in the forest seemed fairly peaceful, aside from a stray bear or two, not all was as it seemed. Elsewhere in the forest, there were others who wandered around. The two mages and their client weren’t the only ones in the forest after all.

”Huh. What’s that shiny thing over there Mack?”

The man who spoke was a broad man, dressed in flannel and wielding a hilariously oversized hatchet. He bent down and grasped the small metallic sphere. A grin came over his face and he showed it off to the other men that were with him. ”Dunno what it is, but it looks expensive! Let’s see if we can’t find any more of these around here!”

A chorus of approval erupted around him from the others that were with him. They numbered five in total, all dressed much the same, but only the man that had spoken was larger than life. In his ridiculously sized hands, the pokeball that he had found looked no larger than a walnut would in the hand of a normal person. Heck, the other four men he was with probably didn’t weigh as much as he did, even if you combined their weights. He was a truly large man, and he was out to find the same thing that the mages were looking for.

It wasn’t all that bad though. One of them was physically quite large, and looked like he was decently strong, but none of them were carrying real weapons. They were all just armed with hatchets of varying sizes proportionate with their own body size. It wasn’t exactly a roving band of bandits, but there was a pretty good chance they were going to cause a problem. After all, they thought that the ball they had found was worth a good amount of money. Asking them nicely probably wouldn’t be enough to get the pokeball back from the biggest of the lumberjacks.

Another lap, or half of one by herself at least, and the Exquip Mage had gotten a bit lucky. When she ran into the Dragon Slayer, she proudly told him, ”One more on that trip. We’re up to five now unless you got one.” The others were still far enough away that she couldn’t sense them coming, but the same would not be true for the Dragon Slayer. There was a breeze blowing the right direction for the scent of the lumberjacks to drift his way.

Yuurei was enjoying his time around the area right now. He continued to move through the forest right now from the trees as he continued on moving around the place. He noticed that there was another bird nest around him, but he left that alone because it had nothing to do with him. He just continued moving forward as he was enjoying the scenery. He kept going though as he had come to a stop. He had been looking around this whole entire time and now he was able to see one of the pokeballs that he had been searching for this whole entire time. He was fairly close to the meeting with Razia, so he dropped down onto the ground and started walking towards the pokeball. He picked it up and noticed that it was undamaged and smiled because this was good. They had gotten half of them so far unless Razia was able to find one on her own.

He continued to walk around this time because he figured that they would need to meet up and scaring Razia would be annoying in her eyes. He just continued to walk through the area that was remaining as he wasn’t able to find another pokeball. He looked around the trees, but he wished he was on top of the trees again. He didn’t complain as much as he saw her from a distance. He smiled as he continued to search until she had bumped into her and when he did he smiled at her because she had rushed over to him quickly. It seemed like she had found one as well, which meant that they were down to four of them missing now. That was good and it meant that they were almost done with all of this. ”Nice you got one, so did I,” he revealed it to her with a smile on his face.

”I guess we got four more to find now. That’s good. Let’s keep moving around,” he said. He took one step forward, but stopped as he held his hand out so she could stop moving around as well. His nose had caught onto the men who were walking around. There were about five of them that he could smell from where they were at and he wonder what they were doing here. They could have been regular people, but if they found the pokeballs, then things would be annoying. Those things looked rare and people would probably think of them as something that could be cost a lot of money to a certain person. That wouldn’t be good for their job and he looked over to Razia. ”It seems like we aren’t the only people in this forest right now. The funny thing is they are close by as well,” he said to her warning her.

”I guess we stick together again, or do you want to continue with the splitting up? If they bumped into the pokeballs we might have a problem,” he told her as he sighed because this might turn bad.

The group of men continued on through around the area that they had found the first pokeball. They had five men, so splitting up and looking for these objects weren’t hard for them. They seemed to have been looking around as they wanted to make a lot of money. It didn’t take long until another one of the guys had found one. ”Look I found another one of those shiny things,” one of them said as he tossed it to Mack and he caught it. ”Keep em searching guys!” they shouted when they heard his voice of encouragement.

Though their luck had been fairly decent for the first half or so of the search, there was a distinct impression that their luck had finally run out. Yuurei had caught the scent of other humans on the wind, and they were fairly close by. ”Only one thing to be done then. Let’s go have a chat with them.” A quick flourish of magic brought out a sword from within The Void. The Exquip Mage spiked it into the ground where they stood. ”And I’ve got our spot marked, so we won’t mess up our search pattern afterwards either.”

She had decided that they needed to go talk to the people for the obvious reason that there was a good chance they had come across some of the pokeballs that the group was looking for. On top of that, the last thing that she wanted was an unexpected confrontation to occur at a bad time. If the others turned out to be hostile, and the mages allowed themselves to be ambushed, there was a much higher chance of injury. As she walked over towards the other people, she explained her plan to Yuurei. ”Just need to make sure they haven’t already collected any of the pokeballs without knowing they belong to our client And if they have, then hopefully we can convince them to give them up peacefully.”

The lumberjacks had found two of the pokeballs by that point, and they had even better luck than the mages. They had only been searching for a minute, and they had already found two of them. It wasn’t long before one of the smaller ones called out, ”Oi, Paul, ain’t this unna dem?” The largest of the men walked over to the smaller one and grabbed the item. ”That’s an acorn you idiot!” He chucked the little piece of the woodlands straight into the smaller man’s forehead. Despite the low weight of the acorn, it still knocked the smaller man flat on his back. Paul’s strength was definitely remarkable.

Despite that setback, another one of the men piped up that he’d found one. ”This one’s shiny! It’s gotta be one!” Indeed it was. Between the two groups, nine of ten pokeballs had been found. Unknown to either group, the last would be far more challenging to find, but some impressively quick progress had been made by both groups. Now there was just one little problem; both groups wanted all of them. Hopefully the mages could convince the lumberjacks to give them up.

Yuurei looked at her and it seemed like instead of going on with their search, they were going to stop and pay a visit to the men who were around the facility they were in. He didn’t mind that to be honest and he guessed going to them wouldn’t hurt. They could make their way to them and at the same time hopefully they found the other pokeballs as well. I mean if they found one, then the might as well find the other three for them as well. It would make things much easier for Razia and Yuurei when they bumped into them. Still, it seemed like she had taken out her sword, which wasn’t a good idea for a regular talk with them. He was about to say something, but he noticed that she had placed her sword on the ground, which meant he was thinking completely wrong when he seen her take her sword out.

The Dragon Slayer shrugged as he was leading the way for the two as he was the one who knew where they were at. He wondered what kind of people were waiting for them there and he figured they would figure out soon enough. He heard her words and smile when he heard them. It was a long shot that they would hand over something that you don’t normally see in the forest nowadays. He could understand if they were kids as you can always convince kids to give you back something important for something like candy. Still, they weren’t and they were grown people who probably would want money for the pokeballs. If she was willing to pay, then so be it, but if not, then things would go south real quick unless they were really sweet people.

”Hopefully they aren’t bad people. I mean you can never judge a book by its cover, but a lot of the time looking at a person usually gives you a good guess on who they are,” he said as he was walking over their direction now. He could take their scent getting stronger, which was good because it meant that they were around them. ”I’m going to be honest I hope they found the other ones because hell it would make our job a lot easier than it is already. We have more than half, if they could find the rest for us and we get it from them, then our job is done,” he smiled because he didn’t mind other people helping, but they were going to be the ones to get the reward. They didn’t ask for help and honestly they met with Ash first, so this problem didn’t occur.

Soon after walking thought, Yuurei had come to a stop. He was close to a tree nearby and noticed that there were a group of men around the area. There were indeed five men and it seemed like one of them was on the ground. While one of them was on the ground though, he could see that another man had approached a huge guy with a pokeball in their hand. ”Well it seems like they have one of the pokeballs,” he said to her as he figured they would go say hi.
