Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Mission Info

Another day, another mission. Razia had returned to Magnolia with Yuurei after they finished helping out Wally. That had been an interesting job, but a rather boring one. Wally had been a crazy guy who was in the world’s most hardcore game of hide and seek. His wife had requested some mages to track him down, since she hadn’t been able to find him for an entire month. Yeah, he was definitely a bit insane, as the reason no one could find him was that he had snuck his way into prison! Even when he was in jail, the guards and prisoners didn’t know he was there. The guy was clearly a master of stealth.

She had enjoyed the relatively easy mission, but she wanted to do something a bit harder after that. Well, that one was only easy because she had the Dragon Slayer’s nose with her, but it wasn’t quite like it was a physically challenging quest either. This time, it seemed that they were heading off to the Lavender Forest to track down some… pokeballs? The Exquip Mage had never heard of such an item, but apparently they were impressive little spheres. From the brief description on the mission request, it looked like they were basically spheres with that put a summon into a pocket dimension, and used holder magic to release or lock up the summon.

Truly, the tech was weird stuff, especially since it seemed to combine two magics, and both summoning and exquip magic in one item was basically unheard of, but this guy had TEN of them. There was probably another simpler explanation… or they were just theoretical and the mages were actually tracking down functionless models of a pipedream that this Ash guy had. It was hard to know until they saw them in action, but it didn’t ultimately matter as long as the client had a proper sum of jewels waiting for them when they were all done.

Come to think of it, she thought she recognized the name from somewhere. Oh, that was right, she had read an article about immortality research a while ago. Apparently some mad scientist who called himself Professor Oak had kidnapped a bunch of kids and tested anti-aging serums on them. It had seemed that the serum worked on Ash, as he was supposedly stuck with the body of a ten year old boy to this day, but the serum’s recipe had been lost to the ages, as Prof Oak had been killed when he resisted arrest.

Man… this Ketchum kid had no luck whatsoever.

Yuurei was surprised on how many jobs that he was able to do with Razia. She was quick on her feet and it seemed like she didn’t mind the jobs that had come her way. She had done some weird ones with her, but this one was different. They were really searching for ten balls that were scattered all over the forest. That was just interesting, but each of these things were magical and held something in them. He honestly wanted to know what was in that crap, but they were said to get more money, if they didn’t opened the ball. He was excited about the reward and since income was coming faster than his bills, you could tell he was being more relax and excited. He wasn’t sure what he should buy with the money he had left after this job and this month was over. Still, the guy who asked them to do this was a ten year old.

Well, he was sure looked like one, but he could be totally mistaken. Still, they were in a place that Yuurei loved to be in and that my friend is a forest. He wasn’t that familiar with the Lavender Forest, but he had been here a couple of times. It was an amazing place and this place just filled with purple. The trees were lavender, the grass, the wood, and a lot of the damn animals were to. It was truly an amazing place and this was why he didn’t decline this job at all. They were going to go through a few rough time in this place and it was only because it was a forest and they were going to have to essentially look over the place for the pokeballs that they were asked to go look for.

He didn’t bring Vlad with him, which sucked because he knew the monkey would have enjoyed the place, but he was in the guildhall and he was enjoying his time there. It was interesting to see the little guy go, but he didn’t bring him because he wasn’t paying attention to him. Still, they were on their way to the forest and he couldn’t wait to see the forest than he was to find those weird magical items. It was interesting to hear that people had certain magic, but this was something he didn’t think was ever possible. Still, he was glad that the two of them could spend time together. He had given up a long time ago to even try to approach her the way he wanted to. It seemed like he messed that up a while ago, which was something he didn’t know how he had done it.

Still, for the moment he figured showing her how life was a mage would put some meaning into his own. They were getting closer to the forest now as he could see it from a distance. He could see the lavender all around the place, which he smile. ”It’s so good to be back here. I can’t wait to get inside of the forest,” he said out loud with a smile on his face. He would rather be in a forest all day, then allow the rain to last all day long. He looked over to Razia with a smile on his face still. ”So how is the income going?” he asked her as the two had done a few missions together and quickly done. He was doing easier jobs because he knew he couldn’t take her into hard jobs. It would only be dangerous for her and if she died by his side he would regret it.

It seemed that this mission was going to be another fairly uneventful one. The pair of mages had made their way to the Lavender Forest, and nothing of note had happened on the journey over. Honestly, if they weren’t on a train, or even if they were, Raza had pretty much come to expect that some random bandit would try to mug them on the way. Maybe it was just because the bandits recognized Yuurei and knew better than to mess with him? She liked to think that it was just that Fiore was finally becoming a slightly safer place, and was settling down after the war, but it was probably just the Dragon Slayer’s presence that kept minor troubles at bay.

As they neared the forest, Razia was truly impressed by the scenery. Sure, she was a city girl, but she enjoyed nature quite a bit as well. The scenery within Fiore was incredibly wide ranging, and it definitely made all the travelling more worthwhile. Her delight with the view was put off to the side as the Dragon Slayer spoke up for the first time on their journey. He asked her about the money, and that was a fairly easy question for her to answer.

”Been a lot better since I started working with you. Living in the capital isn’t exactly cheap, unless you live in the bad part of town. I’ve just got a little flat near the wall. Horrible location, horrible accommodations, and loud neighbors… but it’s home. The rent there is cheap enough I could pay it back when I was just doing a few odd jobs before I became a mage. With all the jobs we’ve been doing lately, it’s basically just been going straight into the ‘buy some really awesome weapons fund.” As much as I like calling myself an Exquip Mage, most of my stuff is just rusty hunks of junk. I’ve been saving up to buy a few things, and after this job, I should probably have enough to get myself an actual arsenal.”

With that part settled, it was time to move on to the objective at hand. ”So, the usual plan then I assume? Go meet the client, tell him not to let anyone else try to steal our work, and then get right into it?” There was always the chance of some other plan going on, but that was usually the default, and Razia wanted to make sure that it still applied on this one.

Yuurei couldn’t believe that what he said was the first thing he had said this whole entire time. Still, he had drifted off a few times, so it was only understandable that he didn’t notice. Still, he listen to Razia and it seemed like she financially well now that she was going on jobs with him. That was good to know that he was able to help her out with situations like this. It seemed like she was saving up for better things and it was to help herself and her magic. He didn’t forget that Ex-equip mages needed to buy their own weapons still. They were usually good at getting them at a cheaper price, which was good, but they still needed to buy weapons and armor. It was why their stuff was so versatile and scary to face again. He honestly couldn’t wait to see her grow to become one of the strongest in Fiore.

It really reminded him of Rachel, but he had seen her once since his return to Magnolia. After that she had disappeared, which sucked because that was actually the woman he trusted most in his life. Their relationship was weird, but he wasn’t sure if it would be able to continue on from there. While they were walking though he heard what she said. They could go to their client and do exactly what she said, or they could go look for the stuff. He had stopped walking now and looked around as he was trying to think. He figured he would allow Razia decide on this. It was her third job with him, so he figured he wanted to see what she wanted to do. ”Well we can go see the client and speak to him for a bit if you want,” he paused for a bit.

”It’s really up to you Razia. How about I allow you to call the shots for this job. It’s your third job with me, so think of it as a little training. I mean I will help out since this is a team effort, but I want to see you at point,” he said to her and smile as he was okay with whatever she wanted to do. It would be good to talk to their client first. He would like to know that somebody was looking for his stuff, and not wait for others to come. They could also just surprised the man, but what if the job was already done and they never find a damn pokeball of his. He was just wondering what Razia would do, but that didn’t last long as he noticed a pretty purple flower.

He was quick to move towards it and when he got close to it he smelled it and he could only smile when he call it scent. It was a beautiful thing and he loved the beauty of this world more than anything. Yuurei opened his eyes to look at it and wished that he was able to take with him, but knew it would die out, if he took it out of its roots. He stood up straight though and looked over to Razia to see what her decision would be.

Unexpectedly, Yuurei had put the ball into her court on this job. It wasn’t completely unexpected, as it was probably something he saw as an essential part of training, Razia rather disagreed. She was less experienced as a mage to be sure, but she was plenty book smart. Analysis and logical decision making was something that she prided herself on… even if she did occasionally make one bad choice that led to an extradimensional king attempting to take over the world. But hey! That had worked out fine in the end, so clearly her decision making skills were legit.

”Off to the client we go then. No sense in trying to do the job without telling him, and he could have some useful info that’ll help us get the job done faster.” The Dragon Slayer had said that he’d follow her lead on this one, so she didn’t wait around to hear his opinion on her plan. The client had said that he was shacking up on the edge of the forest, so it wasn’t like it was even out of their way or anything.

And so the pair of mages made their way into the forest, and found the literal shack that Mr. Ketchum was holed up in. ”Not exactly a five star joint eh?” She had expected rather luxurious accommodations given the insane value of the items he’d lost, but he was hanging out in just a basic wooden hut. She made her way up to the door and knocked on it a few times. ”Anybody home?”

Soon enough, she heard the distinctive clattering of feet as someone made their way up to the door. ”Just a minute!” His voice sounded rather young, but given the experiment he’d been exposed to, it wasn’t that surprising. After that minute passed, a kid in a pair of jeans and a blue and white jacket answered the door. Well, he wasn’t really a kid, but he definitely looked like one. ”Can I help you?”

”Actually, we’re here today to help you.” Oh God, she felt like a travelling salesman after that line. ”We’re guild mages, here to take on the job of finding your pokerballs.” “Pokeballs.” ”Yeah, those. Anywho, I’m Razia from Lamia Scale and this is Yuurei from Fairy Tail. I was hoping you could give us a bit more information about what exactly we’re looking for, and where and when you think you lost them. Anything you can think of might help us track them down sooner.” She had gotten right down to business, but hopefully that was what the not-kid wanted. He was serious enough about finding these to pay up for it, so hopefully he appreciated her serious attitude.

Yuurei knew she was a smart person, which was something he had never question her being. Still, this was her first job that paid a lot of money where she was doing most and if not all the talking. He actually just wanted to go on the adventure and helping out as much as he could. He heard her words and smile because it was always best to go to your client first. He didn’t understand why people usually just jumped into the job without consulting their client, but he never said anything about that. There had been times when that has happened and he had to witness that. It was a bit weird to go up to a client and they looked at you with a weird look like they didn’t know who you were and why you were helping them without actually telling them. Getting the reward always happened, but it was just that awkward situation.

He was walking behind her though as he was looking around the area. It felt like every time he had come here it was his first time. He couldn’t help it, but there was one thing he wanted to do, but he figured he would have to wait to do it. He wanted to climb up the tree and feel the breeze around him and this is when you noticed that when Yuurei enters a forest, or jungle, he would act like a kid, or at least a free spirit without a care in the world. That was probably why his right hand man was a damn monkey. Still, he would look over to Razia every now and then, so he didn’t bump into anything that would leave a mark on his face. The walk didn’t seem like a long one as he heard Razia speak up about their client’s home.

Yuurei looked over to it and noticed the basic hut. It wasn’t bad at all and he would sleep in a place like this in a forest. ”Nope not even close, but it sure looks cozy and a place where I could enjoy some peace and quiet that is for sure,” he commented as she watched her knock on the door. She asked if anybody was home, but he was quick to pick up the scent of someone on the other side. It seemed like he was there and it seemed like he wasn’t expecting anybody to be coming for the job he had put up. He had opened the door soon enough and he was surprised to see the young man who was in front of them. It was amazing to see someone so young living on their own, but he had known other who lived on their own on the streets of the big cities in Fiore.

Yuurei nodded as he was trying to show him that they were here to help him and Razia was quick to say that verbally. She explained their arrival to his house and he nodded because he was actually happy that somebody had arrived to help him out. He looked at the two and then at Yuurei. ”Ah I see you are going to help me get my precious pokeballs. You by the way are a man that even I, who live in a forest have heard about. Yuurei you are someone a lot of people talk about, but if you are here and she is here with you, then I’m sure finding what I’ve lost shouldn’t be a problem,” he was calmed now because the people who arrived would be able to find what he lost. Yuurei was already known for completing his jobs without failure and if this girl was with him, then he trusted her capabilities.

”Well I was at the center of the Lavender forest and I was training my friends. When I was done with everything and I was putting them on my belt something came up from behind and scared me. I jumped so high, that all ten pokeballs dropped onto the floor. The weird thing was they all scattered in different directions. When I moved around they were nowhere around a ten to fifteen meter radius. The center where I’m talking about is west from this house and you will know it’s the center because there is a big rock in the middle of an open field. From there you guys will know where to go,” he told them as Yuurei looked at her. ”Well that is useful,” he said as he meant that.

As was almost always the case, the client had quite a bit of useful information for the mages. He obviously had known where and when he last had the pokeballs, and that was something he was eager to share with the people who were trying to assist him in finding them. He had given them a specific location to look in, as well as what caused them to go missing. That would make it fairly easy for the mages to take care of this task, especially compared to if they had just wandered around looking aimlessly. Now it was just a matter of getting down to work.

”That was useful indeed. Thanks for the info Ash. We’ll head back if we need anything else from you, but I suspect we’ll be back with all the pokerballs,” “Pokeballs.” “Yeah, we should be back with all of whatever you call them soon enough.” The not kid was very particular about the pronunciation of the device that Razia kept messing up it seemed. Ah well. They were paid to find them, not lecture about them. With all the info needed, they were set to go. ”Let’s move out Yuurei.”

It was rather nice to order the Dragon Slayer around. She had been instructed to take point, and that meant she got to tell him what to do. Normally, she could just ask him, but hanging out with Xiayu had taught her just how fun giving out orders could be. She wasn’t snappy or anything though. It wasn’t like she was willy-nilly either though. She spoke with a firm determination that they were going to do whatever she said they were going to do. And today, on this job, that meant that they were going to go find ten pokeballs.

The pair of mages headed off into the depths of the forest, and even the Exquip Mage appreciated the beauty that was all around. This forest was truly a wondrous place, but they didn’t have too long to stop and smell the roses. After the journey to get there, it was already mid-afternoon. They had only half a day to work with before it got dark, and trying to find small objects in a forest without any light wouldn’t fare well. I mean, sure, the Dragon Slayer could always turn into a giant flashlight, but something told the Lamia Scale Mage that asking him to do that was a fairly bad idea.

Walking to the center of the forest took another short while, but it wasn’t a terribly hard walk. The ground was nice and level until they got close, and there was a clearly defined path to follow. Once they got closer to the middle though, it became more apparent why exactly Ash hadn’t been able to find the pokeballs. The center of the forest was home to a very large hill with a sharp incline on every side. When they scaled up to the top of it, it was clear that the ten or fifteen meter radius that was searched was just the top of the hill. The balls had almost certainly rolled down the hill, and given the height of it, they could easily be at least a quarter mile away.

Maybe this wasn’t going to be so easy, but there was only one thing to do. ”Time to start looking I suppose.”

After they got what they needed it was time for them to be on the move. They had stuff to look for and they were getting paid to do it. That was good, which meant that he was going to have to complete this job and make sure he got paid. He had heard the words that had come out of her mouth and he rubbed the back of his. ”Told her to take point, not order me around,” he thought to himself and shrugged it off for the time being. He was going to pat her really hard on her back, but he would hold that off for another time. He left the wooden house now as he was outside in the forest again. He was actually glad to be back outside and he just figured it was time to get moving now before something moved those pokeballs even further.

Now their next location was the place where Ash had been when he lost his precious items. He couldn’t believe he had lost them. This guy should have had a better hold on them, or at least make sure that it had some type of ability that could never go too far from him. There were a lot of things he could have done to ensure that he didn’t lose these things, but he had already did it. The damage was already done, so he figured they would just fix it right? When they got to the area he could see the place they were in. he could only be shocked to see that they were going to be here for a while. They had to look for ten pokeballs, which were all around these areas. He wished his nose could pick up the scent of a pokeball, but he couldn’t.

He was a bit upset about this and he heard Razia speak up. ”Ten pokeballs how should we even look for them? Should we stick together and look for all ten together, or separate?” she had said to start looking, but he was right next to her because he was assuming she wanted to be together on this job. Still, he brought that up so she could decide. He was okay with either, but he was bothering her to see what kind of decision she would make. He did tell her she was on point, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t going to suggest things and see what she would do after he did. The walk he had to get here wasn’t even bad either and he had seen a lot of nice things, still he was down about what thing.

The young man couldn’t climb up on a tree today and it was all because of this job. Yuurei usually did this whenever he entered a forest, well except the Eastern Forest, but that was because he had done it so much he knew his way around there just by walking. While he waited for Razia’s answer though he noticed more plants nearby and quickly walked over before she could answer. He was inhaling their scent now as it was pleasant and calming to take in.

Razia didn’t need any additional time to figure out what she wanted to do at this stage. She had already weighed the pros and cons of both of those options on the way over. Splitting up meant they would cover ground twice as fast, which meant they’d be done in half the time. If they stayed together though, there was more safety. There was always the chance that something could go horribly wrong, or that the pokeballs were actually really dangerous if you didn’t know how to handle them properly. The Exquip Mage didn’t feel like taking the chance of one of them getting jumped until she felt the situation was safe.

Of course, before she could even tell the Dragon Slayer what her plan was, the man had wandered off to go sniff some flowers. ”I guess those smell extra good with a sharp nose or something?” She had never really understood the fascination with flowers that some people had. To her, the smell was more annoying than anything. Besides, if someone got you cut flowers, they died pretty quickly. And if they got you still growing ones, then you had to spend time to take care of them. Flowers were a lose-lose situation in her books.

”I think we outta stick together until we find a few of them. Yeah, we’d cover more ground separate, but do you really think he’d have hired mages if this was a safe and easy assignment? I’d be willing to bet a decent chunk of money that we’re either going to have to deal with some wild animals or some of the summons that are linked to the pokeballs. Until we determine otherwise, it should be assumed that the summons are on the loose, and that they will treat us as hostiles. Only once we’ve confirmed that there is no threat should we consider splitting up. A few extra hours will never be worth the rest of our lives.”

Her point wasn’t especially eloquent, but it was definitely accurate. They had no data about the summons themselves, and given the bizarre nature of the magic that held them captive within the pokeballs, it was possible that some of the summons were incredibly powerful. It would be foolish of them to treat this like they were only searching for inanimate objects. There was quite a high potential for danger on an assignment like this one, and she intended to treat that risk seriously until there was concrete proof that the risks weren’t as bad as she assumed they were.

Yuurei was sniffing flowers again and he stopped doing that when he heard her words. He looked back at her and smiled because it smell really good and they were delightful. His nose was much more sensitive, so he got a different experience. Still, he understood why a lot of females in this world enjoy the smell of different kind of flowers. Their scent were pleasing and they allowed you to forget a lot of things when you were being occupied by them. His going around sniffing flowers had to come to an end and that was because she was explaining the situation to him now. He stood up as he left the flowers alone and just looked at her. It seemed like she wanted to stick together; he knew there were danger in the forest, but hey he wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, so he asked her.

Still, it seemed like she was sure that something would be lurking around the area. He could only chuckle a bit because he figured something like that would happen. He figured it would be good training for her to fight on her own. I mean he was okay with tagging along as well, which was what he was planning on doing. He just rubbed the back of his head and he was hoping for one thing and it was that none of the kid’s stuff had come out of the ball. He was not in the mood to fight some gruesome monster that was being held in a ball. He just sighed and rubbed the back of his head as their decision was made before she could even explain the situation. He understood where she was coming from, and honestly he wasn’t going to debate about it. If he had done that, then it would only mean they would be wasting precious time.

”I guess we have our answer then,” he smiled at her. He moved forward honestly and started walking down one side of the hill right now. The sharp incline made it hard for him to walk regular as he figured that if they tripped, then they would be falling straight to the bottom of the hill. He was walking at a pace that she could catch up to and even pass him. He was just moving on because he figured that she was waiting for his opinion on the matter. The Dragon Slayer was just happy to be here honestly, but a few of the animals he caught a scent of moved away from the two when they got near. It was like they nervous of him, which he understood why. He was a strong person with a strong aura, so if they were warned by that, then it only made sense.

”I wonder what kind of animals made those pokeballs of Ash their property now? It would be nice to see what life in these forest had taken what it had found and decided to claim it as its own,” he laughed. It was a life of finders keepers losers weepers right now and he wonder how he must be feeling right now. If he had lost his Dragon slaying powers, then he figured he would be devastated.
