Every year the members of the dark mage's science community, most of whom belonged to Grimoire Heart, met up in Oshibana Town to discuss things. New projects, agreements and apply to investors among other things. Even dark mage scientists still needed money to fund their projects and among Earthland there were many people eager to push scientific development without concern for laws or morals. People like that gathered at these dark mage science meetings and they were exactly the type of people that Xiayu was very interested in. See the half-snake alchemist and her master only managed to keep their experimentation going thanks to the generous donations they received from wealthy benefactors. In the game of acquiring investors Xiayu really did come into her own as thanks to her looks and flirtatious way of behaving she often roped in many donations. The half-snake was very excited for this year's meetup as it was the first time she had ever attended by herself. Xiayu's master had been feeling very sick lately due to his old age, he was coming on eighty years old after all, and so she had been sent in his place to advance their interests. As for what interests Xiayu needed to advance? Well her master's current project was a way to infuse animal DNA into people via potions instead of magic. The reason why that project was important was because many of Xiayu's normal clients had expressed a desire in shape changing potions. he ability to change form was a powerful one, especially when you were a criminal that needed to hide or an assassin, and so finding a way to create a potion that could alter your physical form would be the first step in that. Having arrived in the town a few hours ago Xiayu was already seated in the meeting room. Xiayu's owner was a very highly regarded member of the science community, the dark mage side of it anyway, and as such Xiayu had a rather prominent seat as his representative and student. This chair was among the inner circle of the guests attending as the closer you sat to the center the more important you were. The chairs in the room were arranged in circles as it was a very simple way to arrange things and determine which members were the more important. Sadly as the actual conference hadn't started yet Xiayu was rather bored..normally by this point she'd have slithered off to find something more entertaining to do and would have let her master handle things but alas he wasn't here so such a thing was not possible. Xiayu's tail was uncomfortably coiled around the base of the chair but it was to be expected; normally she sent her special custom made chairs ahead to meetings like this but due to how suddenly her presence was requested Xiayu had been unable to do so. |

The Underworld Science meeting, Tokio's favorite time of year, it was a grand meeting of all the greatest minds in the underworld. Most people thought that meant it was just a giant meeting filled with lunatics, fanatics and crazies. Which to be frank Tokio too thought his first time coming to the meeting when he joined Raven Tail. He quickly had his eyes opened and his mind widened as he realized these 'dark mages' these 'criminals' had made advances that were unhindered by laws, that would normally be repressed by morals and ethics boards. Their ideas would change the fate of fiore and perhaps the world itself. To put it simply Tokio was overly fascinated and couldn't stop asking questions till someone literally knocked him out. Tokio and resigned himself to change things this time. He wasn't anyone of great importance. Even in his guild he was practically invisable unless someone needed a weapon fixed or modified. He wanted to actually share his ideas and the advancements he had made in the past year. He came in his suit, he wore his ever strange signature hat that stood out from his suit, but he truly found it just something that made him more unique along with his briefcase that he carted around with him everywhere. Being that he wasn't exactly anyone important his seat wasn't anywhere special. He had a few of his inventions on paper with him explaining his current developments on lacrima technology and how it was able to be implemented in more practical ways, the most recent develop meant he had made was combining ideas from Tessera and The Bone Yard's machinations into automated syncing probes that could connect to a user simultaneously, along with a theory about how lacrima's could be put on the tips of a solid object and fired for the same effect as discharging a lacrima. Using only 1/10 of the normal amount of lacrima needed with the same effect of a full on magic based weapon. This was all in hopes that someone would listen to him. |

Ugh this little conference affair was going to take ages to get started wasn't it? That was clear from the fact many of the people attending were out of there seats and milling around talking to one other. A smile crossed Xiayu's lips as she heard her fellow members of the legally and morally unhindered science community discussing numerous different projects. With a lot of bouncing of her bust the half-snake rose from her seat and stretched her arms before looking behind her. It was when Xiayu looked behind her that she noticed Tokio sitting there at the back with his sheets of paper. Call it babying if you will but the half-snake felt Tokio looked a little lonely but he was kind of handsome in a dirty, messy haired "I don't care" bad boy kind of way. Of course looking like a bad boy was sexy yes but Xiayu had always preferred the cuter more submissive types..nt tht she couldn't go for a bad boy every now and then. Bad boys rarely scared Xiayu as she was as bad as they come, she did have no issue with human experimentation and often collected her own ingredients from corpses after all, and so she confidently slithered towards Tokio. Upon arrival at Tokio's part of the round table Xiayu would slither behind him and look over his shoulder at the sheets of paper there was. The idea about automated syncing probes that instantly connected with the user seemed special in theory but it wasn't anything ground breaking. Really that was just putting a lacryma charged with mana from one person into a machine as then the lacryma would be connected to the host's magical supply. However the idea about putting a small lacryma on the end of a solid object to physically propol the lacryma without using as much magic did seem interesting. "Hmm..Lacryma engineer huh? Pleased to meet you. My name's Xiayu Serpentera. I suppose you could call me the adoptive daughter of one Magos Archstien." Xiayu had no idea if Tokio here, not that she knew his name yet, would even know who her adoptive father was but he was rather well renowned among the alchemy circles of course Tokio here was a lacryma engineer so he might not know of that name. "Interesting ideas you have there..the lacryma tip seems the most useful" Honestly she was a little disappointed in the theories Tokio here had as there was nothing groundbreaking there or anything that really wowed Xiayu. Of course out of politeness the half-snake would be keeping those thoughts to herself as she didn't exactly want to piss anybody off or cause a fight in here of all places. |

Tokio was calmly trying to seem like he still had his composure to him despite the fact underneath he wanted to just about run around the room and take apart everyones inventions and attempt to put them back together in the sake of knowledge, but he knew instantly he would be not only be removed from the meeting but he wouldn't be alive when his body left the meeting. So for now his simply shuffled his papers keeping a eye out for anyone else working with lacryma and see what e could learn from them. However before anyone else working with Lacryma had started to appear Tokio would be visited by what seemed to be a half snake half woman person. The snake woman confidently slithered toward him only to slip around behind him and quickly read over his theories before introducing herself. This Xiayu seemed to be the adopted daughter of a Magos Archstien, a name Tokio hadn't heard before but he instantly planned on researching when he got back to his lab. It seemed Xiayu was quite interested in Tokio's lacryma tip theory that would allow for less resources but just the same amount of bang, not to mention the other implications one could use lacryma tipping for. " Uh, thanks " Tokio would mutter in a low voice before taking a breath as he grasped the situation in his mind for moment. " I'm Tokio Rellis, son of some people you never heard of, or will hear of. " Tokio would say with a slight bow of his head, to show respect to someone who most likely was higher up the food chain, no pun intended, than him. " The tip idea is really just something I've come across in my research and simply authenicated for modern lacryma technology use. In the war's of old lacryma modification was hailed as some of the ultimate weapons along side of many other weapons. The real implications I'm working on them arnt listed in these notes. We all don't exactly want to reveal our hands a bit early after all. " Tokio would say with a smile "Could be a gamble that make us look a fool or truly ground breaking. " Tokio would say in a rather true researcher fasion that rang true for everyone here at the conference. People either brought their final project or only brought what they new was concrete implication theory. " Are you a fellow Lacryma Engineer? Fellow researcher? Scientist? " Tokio would ask glancing the snake woman over once more interested why she was here and what field she was a expert in and ofcourse if she was born like that, use magic to get like that, was cursed to look like that, or choose to look like that, but then again that would be by far too forward. Hybrid people after all were not uncommon at this meet ups, Xiayu was just the first half snake Tokio had seen, he had seen demons and devil, and even magic creature splices appear here, but never something right out of old folklore show up here. |

So this boy's name was Tokio huh? Nice name. Easy to pronounce, rolled off the tongue well and best of all easy to remember. Xiayu wasn't stupid enough to remember complex names but she always felt that a good name should be easy to remember as a rule. Xiayu chuckled and smiled licking her lips in a predatory manner before tightly coiling around the Lacryma Engineer. Xiayu, as much as she liked science, often found it very boring whenever it came to talking to other people about it. The reason for this was that in her experiences most of the other scientists she'd tried to converse with over scientists they were always so boring. They rarely talked with excitement, passion or enthusiasm and so Xiayu really hoped that Tokio here would be one of those interesting types. If not she'd probably just ditch him...or use him as an unwilling test subject for some of the untested potions she'd brought with him. Sadly for Tokio he then mentioned certain implications of his Lacryma tip technology which he had chosen not to include in the report he brought with him. Unfortunately, for Tokio that is, his decision to exclude that information had aroused the half-snake's curiosity. When it came to getting information she wanted to know out of people Xiayu could be very very forceful. She moved around Tokio pressing her bust line into his face then tightening her oddly very muscular coils; despite how rarely Xiayu actually went to the guild and worked out her tail was incredibly powerful. "Now mister Tokio these...implications you're talking about. I want you to tell me all about them! If not...then well" And then she pulled back from Tokio's face, using her tail to keep him constricted, she'd open her jaw unnaturally widely, for a human anyway, and she could have easily fitted it over Tokio. She wouldn't actually go through with her threat, after all Tokio couldn't talk if he was dead, but the engineer didn't know that. Tokio did eventually talk but it was not what Xiayu wanted him to talk about., He inquired just what exactly Xiayu's field of study was. "My my? Well I am an alchemist~ My father's only student~ But I am more interested in these implications you brought up..such a juicy tidbit~" She hissed softly and wrapped her arms around Tokio's neck pressing her bust into Tokio's chest. "Hmm...so you wanna tell me cutie?..I'm sure I could share some things with you in return...~" The seductive and flirtatious tone to her voice implied she'd offer sex as a reward but no that was not her intention. Her intended reward would be either money or some knowledge she was willing to partake. Sure it was highly unlikely that her vast knowledge of alchemy would prove useful to Tokio but then again she may be wrong.Surely magically empowered fluids with a vast array of effects would have some sort of use or purpose to a engineer who focused on Lacryma. It seemed Tokio had gotten himself in quite a interesting situation as Xiayu took not just a interest in Tokio's work but him as well! At least that was how it seemed as she pressed her body against him and gave him absolutely no room to slip out of her writhing clutches. " Uh well " Tokio would as his eyes trailed down for a moment before shooting upward toward the ceiling. He would do everything in his power to not even make eye contact with Xiayu at this point his eyes rolling down to his briefcase a few meters away from him before he would let out a small sigh. Digging into his inside coat pocket he removed a single buinesses card " Well if you would like to know more, feel free to use this..." Tokio would begin to explain to the snake woman before his gaze finally locked eyes with her and it was as if a light bulb went off in his head, a idea, a wonderfully insane and abnormal idea few would even think to attempt. " On second thought. " Tokio said quickly retracting his card and tucking it back in his pocket. " A exchange does sound interesting " Tokio would say as he would relax in Xiayu clutches for the time being. Despite the look in his eyes seeming to be a buzz with energy and vigor. " I am willing to share some of my research of my lacryma application in exchange for some of your knowledge with alchemy....you would get first hand experience with my research. " Tokio would say with a smile as his eyes locked with Xiayu's waiting for her to give him some sort of answer. This was all Tokio could do, he wasn't willing to just share some of his secret, not even with seduction being forced upon him, in fact seduction made it even more impossible for him to explain on what he was working on with lacryma tipping. He had never had a half snake woman attempt to seduce him for science. After all that would be for science right? A socially awkward crazy engineer and a snake lady? Nothing but for the pursuit of science! |

Xiayu's lips curled into a predatory smirk and she tightened her coils moving her face VERY close to Tokio's while staring deeply into his eyes. One might have assumed that the alchemist had romantic feelings for Tokio but really the only emotional connection she had to him was intense curiosity. A content hiss escaped from the depths of Xiayu's throat as Tokio struggled and squirmed reaching for his business card. The hiss turned into a content purr as Xiayu winked and chuckled. This woul probably sound weird but it had always been a rather nice sensation for somebody trapped in Xiayu's coils to struggle and attempt to move; perhaps she simply liked the idea of being in charge and having somebody trapped at her mercy? Or more likely it was probably due to her being ticklish along the tail after all it isn't weird for people to find getting tickled enjoyable. Eventually Tokio's squirming and wiggling revealed it's purpose as he revealed a type of business card. The half-snake elegantly took this card from his hand with fine, delicate and rather gentle movements before examining it closely. Her reptilian eyes blinked and she hmmm thoughtfully reading the card while listening to Tokio and considering his proposal before returning the card to him. An exchange did in fact seem like the easiest way for Xiayu to get what she wanted out of Tokio. Of course the half-snake, like always, had her own agenda and goals to achieve so she was going to add a little extra. "Hmmm..treat me to dinner and you've got a deal~" Honestly Xiayu had been a little bored for the past few weeks as most of her male friends/suckers had been..preoccupied so she had nobody to drag out to restaurants, clubs or other entertainment venues. Hopefully Tokio would agree as dragging a cute boy to a restaurant was always an entertaining prospect. Xiayu hissed and uncoiled from Tokio slithering onto the table spreading out the mass of scales and muscle that was her tail. She smiled and stared at him waiting for a response while also curious as to what exactly Tokio would want from her knowledge wise that is. See Xiayu's area of expertise, when it came to alchemy, was poisons, venom and toxins. The half-snake was only eager to know what Tokio was keeping a secret because it was secret and not due to any real use she'd have for it. Xiayu was assuming the only reason why Tokio made this offer of a deal was because something she knew would be of use to him somehow. "Of course..now I'm curious to know just why you want me to share my knowledge. I don't see an obvious connection between Lacrima and alchemy after all..." She stared into Tokio's eyes with a rampant hunger for knowledge apparent. This should be obvious to an outside observer but the half-snake had a rampant voracious hunger when it came to knowledge and accumulating it. |

Tokio smiled lightly and mildly bashfully as Xiayu accepted his deal with a strange addition but none the less Tokio carried little. " Excellent. " Tokio would say agreeing before she released him. However one thing had not all gone according to plan. Xiayu had touch Tokio's business car. This wasn't exactly a great thing as originally Tokio was going to use it on her, but the idea of exchanging information came to mind, thus why he attempted to retract the card, the card now activated would soon explode, a distraction tactic Tokio used to open up exchanged before he unleashed a overwhelming amount of attacks onto his confused targets. Now released he walked toward the closest trash can and tossed the card into it. While at the moment it would seem almost as if Tokio didn't want to touch something Xaiyu touched, it would soon be revealed why he had tossed it away as soon as he could after she touched it. Walking back over to his briefcase then to Xaiyu he simply smirked " There is connections everywhere, you just have to know how to look at them. My research will become apparent once we go into more detail. " Tokio would explain before looking over his shoulder at the trash can. " SO! " he said loudly. " Shall we miss? " Tokio said waving his arm out for them to leave. No more then a moment after he did so the trash can would explode! Blowing up the whole trash can itself and burning the area around it like a small firework or bomb went off inside it. A unsettled look would appear on Tokio's face. " Told ya, I make all sorts of things that arnt normal "Tokio would say with a mild nervous laugh before starting to rush out of the meeting while everyone's attention was still drawn toward the trashcan and confusion was still filling the meeting. |

Like a good little mage scientist Tokio agreed to the offer Xiayu made, although he probably didn't have a choice lest he wish to face more extreme methods, and so the half-snake uncoiled from him and sat her butt, or where it would be, on the desk in front of him her large tail coiled up on the ground. Much to Xiayu's surprise Tokio took the card and headed right to a nearby trash can before throwing the card into it. It was odd to see Tokio do as the half-snake assumed his business cards were a little more...important to him than that? But hey they were technically his property and if the engineer wished to discard them casually then that was his prerogative. The half-snake had actually been planning to drag Tokio out for lunch after the meet up had ended..but then again it wouldn't be starting for a few more hours. "Hmm..sure why not?..." She smiled, then the trash can exploded suddenly and the half-snake put two and two together. Sadly for Tokio she realised what the Lacrima engineer had been planning and it was enough to instantly put Tokio on Xiayu's bad side. "Oh..I see your little game...tut tut tut..." She tutted in a scolding manner and raised up to an impressive eight feet, thanks to her tail's extreme length, and towered over Tokio. "Hmmm you thought an exploding card would be amusing huh?..Tut tut tut...bad boys need to be punished..." She flashed a sadistic almost sexual smile and lunged at Tokio as fast as she could manage. Xiayu would attempt to rapidly coil around Tokio employing her full strength to pin the Lacrima Engineer's arms to his side preventing them from moving them at all. Slithering around the half-snake put her face very close to Tokio's and smiled her fangs revealed and dripping with a clear colour liquid which was most definitely not saliva; truth be told it was a neuro-toxin..a very very weak one which barely did anything but Tokio wouldn't know that."Npw I don't normally like being on the end of tricks...but because I'm just such a wonderful person I'll let you go...on one condition. You answer me a question: Who is your mistress?" The expression on the alchemist's face would make it pretty clear that she expected the answer to be her own name and if Tokio answered correctly he would freed no worse for ware. If he foolishly chose not to answer correctly then she'd tighten her coils and slowly crush his lungs. Of course all of these prior events relied upon Tokio getting trapped amid the half-snake's coils so of course he could always evade them or employ magic trickery and if that series of events did occur then the half-snake would merely need to come up with a new response. |

As Xiayu realized how dangerous that card really was it was painfully obvious to see how annoyed the half snake was to go along with her heavy banter and threats. However Tokio wasn't someone who acted with threats or open ended intimidation, Tokio excelled at shock and awe tactics. So when Xiayu raised up to her full height Tokio sprung backward quickly prepared for some sort of attack. That attack would be Xiayu rushing forward attempting to coil around him again. Tokio was rather tired of using kid gloves with someone who thought she could push around the meek looking engineer simply because he was a engineer. Little did she know that Tokio was more than just a lacyrma engineer he was a mage. Thus when Xiayu rushed for Tokio she would be quickly greeting with a large wall of magical energy that stopped her from getting to Tokio as served as a barricade between her and Tokio for the time being. " If my aim was to harm you, I wouldn't have taken back the card or offered a deal. Calm your self. " Tokio said in a for the most part calm voice hoping the snake woman would take this pause to take a breath, count to ten, and think logically for a moment. " I disposed of it for your safetly, if you can't see that now, and wish to continue this. You will leave me no choice but to make you answer to Reason. " Tokio said gripping his briefcase tightly awaiting any slightest move of the snake for him to activate Reason and slow the half snake down. Tokio truly didn't want it to come to that outcome however as despite how effective and overwhelming his tactics were...collateral damage and surely everyone else in the room would be drawn into the fray. If anything the past few chain of events would make Xiayu surely even more interested about Tokio, he wasn't just some push over engineer, but someone who had tricks up his sleeve at every turn, it begged to question if Xiayu was really playing Tokio or was he truly playing her? Despite the fact truth be told he was just aiming for a mutual exchange, but Xiayu manipulative mind surely wouldn't come to that answer right away. |
