It was afternoon in Magnolia right now. It was the vocal point of the day where people were either going outside now because they had woken up not too long ago, or there were people already outside enjoying their day. It was a nice time and day to just go and converse with those around you. It was also a nice time to go shopping or spent the day spoiling yourself. The sun wasn’t even out, but you could feel the humidity that it gave out through the clouds. The wind blowing only made things that much sweeter. The inside of buildings and houses you could hear the noise from outside. That was how you could tell how noisy things were, but it wasn’t bad at all. It just meant that nothing wrong was happening in the city. That also meant that the people from Fairy Tail could just relax and enjoy their day as well. There was a specific home that had everybody up except for one person. It had been four days since Yuurei had met Zeph. The boy from Incendia had come to Magnolia seeking for his help. How he had specified him out of all the mages in the world was beyond him, but it must have been fate because he had taken him in. The young man was seeking help to become stronger, but not only that, the young man wanted to control the uncontrollable. The side of him that it seemed like he had fear the most; he had a demonic part deep within him, which he wanted to control. Well in Yuurei’s eyes he felt like he wanted to suppress that part of him, so it could never come out, but even he knew that was impossible to do. The only thing that boy could do was suppress it deep down inside and hope it didn’t come out to the surface, and if it did then all hell would break loose. There was that, or he could suppress and learn how to control it so he could stop it when things got too far, or better yet make sure that he didn’t lose it or became out of control. The Dragon Slayer was okay with helping him out, being his guardian, and even stopping him from causing destruction and death to those around him. It would have been easier to kill him, but then it would all go to waste, which he wouldn’t do. He figured it would be his responsibility and hopefully it would pay off. Still, Yuurei was in house right now as he had made food for the three of them right now. He figured that today would be a good day for him to wake, but he couldn’t be too sure. Vlad had been running rampant around the house. The monkey was on his feet, so running was the next logical thing for to do. He just ignored him as he was preparing the table for the people here. ”Yuurei do you think he will wake up today? The guy took a beating, so it seemed like he has been hibernating ever since. Are you sure you didn’t put him into a coma? You kind of hit him hard with your Dragon’s Tail,” he snickered as he continued moving around the house. Yuurei was done with setting the table up for the three and he eyed the white monkey as it continued to run around. ”I’m sure I didn’t put him into a coma. I didn’t hit him that hard. I mean if I used five tails in his condition, then maybe something like that would have happened,” he looked at the monkey. ”Besides he has a demon inside of him, so I’m sure he could take a lot of hits before anybody could put him into a coma,” he was reassuring himself as he sat down and looked at all the food he had prepared. He figured waiting a couple of minutes would be the best thing to do before eating. It was what he had been doing for the last four days anyways. Vlad had stopped running as well as he made his way towards a seat around the table. He just sat there as he looked at Yuurei. ”And now we wait before we munch down on the food here,” he simply said. |

Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice

Three days? No, feels closer to four rather than three. Zeph's internal clock was very accurate, an upside to his heritage. Time felt different to him, it passed in a way that most beings did not seem to feel. It may have been a simple perk given to him specifically, or it was a trait all Incendians' shared. Regardless, it came in handy at times. He could easily judge how much time had passed, but that did not allow him to tell the time of day. Obviously he could have seen what time of day it was, but that would mean he had control over his body. Being unconscious was weird, any form of sleep was still odd for him to experience. His mind never fully shut down. This was a good thing, as it allowed him to rebuild mental walls, replace safeguards to keep himself in check. These were the things he did in his sleep, in place of dreaming like humans did. Four days. Four days was a long time to sleep, but he needed it in order to ensure that everything was alright. His body was sufficiently regenerated, that only had been done within the first two days, but he had to make sure that he would be in completely control, without influence. Once he was comfortable, he his eyes slowly opened. The light was blinding. Even if it had been night out, it would have hurt, something that he would never adapt to completely. After blinking a few times, his vision slowly cleared and he was able to observe the world around him. With very little effort, Zeph pushed himself up, turning himself at the same time. His bare feet gripped the chilled floor. Looking down at his hands, he slowly flexed his fingers, moving on to rotating his wrists, bending his elbows and then rotating his shoulders. It would seem that everything had recovered, as expected. It was obvious to him that, if Master Yuurei had put more effort forward, he would have needed a significant amount of time to regenerate, perhaps months of sleep to heal completely. However, he was thankful that he had not. After assure that he was alright, he stood. His ears quickly picked up the sounds of Yuurei and Vlad, unfamiliar with the layout of the building, he simply followed the sound. It didn't take more than a minute for him to locate the two. Standing there, Zeph rubbed the back of his head, touching the spot that Yuurei had struck with his elbow. "Good morning Master Yuurei," as he spoke, Zeph dropped his hand and bowed his head to his master, "and Vlad." Adding the part about Vlad as if his presence had been an afterthought. In all honesty, he was sure how he felt about the monkey. It was an odd, and somewhat obnoxious creature. In a way, it remind him of Jaxus, self-proclaimed rival. Running his mouth a lot, and acting tough constantly. The bravado act was quite annoying, but Zeph had no way of know whether it was an actually act, or if the creature was actually strong enough to support his attitude. |

Yuurei and Vlad were waiting for Zeph to wake up and hopefully today would be the day. It didn’t take long for him to look up in the direction that Zeph was walking from. He only smiled because he knew that the guy was coming, which was good to know that he didn’t put him in a coma. He just watched the man appear to them and he just nodded a bit as he had greeted him and even Vlad, but that was after he had bowed to him. ”Good morning there Zeph. I’m glad you are finally up. I thought if you slept through one more day, then I would be sending you to the hospital. I figured that would cause chaos because of the demonic part inside of you, but hey it would have been my fault right. Anyways it doesn’t matter anymore, you are okay. Come over and eat, you must be hungry,” he said to Zeph as he motioned his hand for him to come over and take a seat. Vlad looked at him and smiled because he had taken a beating from Yuurei, but he wanted to fight him as well. Still, he knew that his master wouldn’t let him or at least for now. ”It seems like sleeping beauty is awake. Nice to see the boss didn’t turn into a murderer. Still, I think you should be safe by his side Zeph. I know I am,” he was an ass, but he figured being nice towards the end would be for the best. The Dragon Slayer sighed, but shook his head because he was hungry as well. He didn’t sleep for four days, but his hunger got to him all the time. He clapped his hand and looked at the meal that he had made for the three of them. It would have been for four, but someone wasn’t here right now, which he was okay with. Yuurei started eating his meal as he took one of the many strips of bacon that was there and crunched on it. Vlad just went for the fruits that were surrounding the table as well as he was munching on that. He had scooped up a large amount of scramble eggs and stuffed it in his mouth as well. He could only chew with such happiness in his face. After chewing for a bit he had swallowed his meal and smiled at Zeph. ”it’s still warm. Thank god it didn’t get cold. Still, did you remember anything from the fight Zeph? I mean well after you lost control?” he asked him. He continued to eat though as he wasn’t going to allow this question to stop him from eating. It was mainly what he was doing training the guy, so the next thing he needed to know was if the man could remember anything. Vlad on the other hand only made a shrieking noise as he was indeed not chewing his food at this moment. He took more fruits in right then and there as he looked over to Zeph. ”I’m sure he remembers some of it. He wasn’t even confused when he woke up here. The question to ask is this. Were you able to fight your demonic self Zeph? Were you even able to get close to getting your conscious back from that scary thing inside of you? I mean sheesh you should have seen yourself, that guy can’t fight, but he sure knows how to keep someone on their toes,” the monkey said all of this shuffling his food around and not being able to speak properly, but one could make out his words nonetheless. |

Zeph merely listened for a bit, before joining the two of them at the table. Looking around a bit, he realized that this was the first time he had ever been in the home of another. It was odd to think that this place was a permanent residences for Yuurei. The concept had, despite everything, remained a bit foreign to him. Whether it was within Incendia or Earthland, he had never had anything that he would have called home. He couldn't understand a person's need to put down, so people say, 'permanent roots.' Of course this went against his nomadic attitude, the need to constantly roam, so it would make sense that he would be unable to understand such a desire to remain in one place. Looking down at the plate before him, he examined the food there. Picking up a piece of bacon, he turned it over, before taking a bite. This thing, was delicious, though he wasn't sure what it was. Eating the rest of the strip, he picked up his fork and scooped up some eggs, before looking to Yuurei as he inquired to what it was he could and couldn't remember. Before he could give his answer Vlad spoke up, making his comment about how Zeph must've remembered, as he did not appear confused when he awoke in a strange place. "Awaking in strange places does not bother me like it would to others. After all, the initial shock of waking up in a whole new world dulled my ability to be surprised or confused about such things," He stated, before popping the eggs into his mouth, surprised at how delicious it was. After swallowing the bite, he proceeded to talk, "I do, for the most part, remember what happened, but not in the same sense you would recall a memory. It was like watching through a glass wall, I wasn't able to conceive what was happening while it happened though. There was a moment when I was able to push through, and see the world again, but I was quickly consumed," As he spoke, he absentmindedly stirring his food about his plate. What he remembered worried him somewhat. It was true, his demonic instinct did seem to keep him from using anything he had learned, at least what he thought. However, Zeph had grabbed his sword during that fight. He had recognize that the tool was for killing, and had taken it. It worried him. If his demonic instinctual side was beginning to learn, and retain what he learned in battle, then things would get complicated. |

Vlad heard what he said and he chuckled as he continued to eat the fruits that were presented to him. He wasn’t asking if it bothered him, but that he was sure to remember most of what happened to him that day. One person who couldn’t remember anything after losing consciousness would wake up in a bed confused about what happened. Still, Zeph wasn’t in that condition, which was what he told his boss that he had indeed remembered something, but he just continued to eat as he didn’t want to say anything and got things out of hand. Yuurei on the other hand just continued to eat his food. He was happy to see that Zeph was eating. The man wasn’t picky when it came to eating, well he was out for a few days, so he must have been hungry. Still, he was sure that he would enjoy the food that was on the table. The Dragon Slayer had looked up to him though as was talking. This time it was about the situation of whether or not he had remembered what happened. He listen carefully now and it seemed like he was trapped while the demon had taken over. What happen was something he didn’t see happening right then and there, but it had come in series of pictures after it had happened. He had also smile because it seemed like the demonic part of him was able to be fought with as Zeph had regained some sort of control against his other side, but it had taken control soon after. He wasn’t strong enough mentally to be able to suppress his demonic side, or even make sure he could come back to reality and keep the demon inside after it had somehow come out. Yuurei nodded as he was eating more of his food and he had pushed the bread that he toasted up towards Zeph. He had swallowed his food as he sighed as it was good and he could only lean back with a smile on his face. ”That’s good to hear Zeph, still eat to your heart content. There is a lot of food for us, so no need to worry. You came to me for something like this, so I will help. On the other hand at least you have a strong will. It’s not strong enough just yet, but it will be. Don’t beat yourself up,” he snickered a bit as he rubbed the back of his head. ”The training we will be doing is quite boring. Well at least for me it was always boring when learning and I hated doing it more than anything else in the world,” he paused with as he brought his hands onto the table. ”After we eat and relax a bit we will meditate,” he simply said as he took another strip of bacon and took a bite out of it. He stopped chewing as he wasn’t sure that Zeph had known what that was, so he figured that asking him would be for the best. ”You do know what that is right? Meditation? Clearing your mind etcetera?” he asked him making sure he knew what that was. He didn’t think he was stupid, but he wasn’t sure what things he had learn in his world and how it was different from here. There was also the fact that he was only in this world for a year, so he wasn’t sure if he had bumped into people who meditated as well. He just continued eating his food as he awaited for an answer. |

Zeph listened carefully as he continued to eat the odd, but delicious meal before him. He was glad to hear Master Yuurei's small amount of praise, and understood that there was a great deal of work ahead of them, but he did pause. It would seem that, after his little test, Yuurei had decided that the first obstacle to tackle was Zeph's mental prowess. It made sense, strengthening him mentally, to reduce the likelihood of relapsing into demonic instinct, first, before making his more powerful in other areas. If they were to do it the other way around, it could easily backfire, possibly causing a good deal of collateral damage. With the tip of his fork pressed between his lips, Zeph thought over this meditation thing, that Yuurei had mentioned. From the, very, brief description given, it sounded like the deep sleep that him, and his brethren, would occasionally use during periods of calm. It gave them time to clear out their minds, and rejuvenate their power, as necessary. They would use these states for years at a time, but Zeph doubted that was how this meditation would work, as human lifespans did not last very long, so the use would have to be for a shorter time. Removing the fork from his lips, he nodded his head. "I had not heard this phrase before, but I do believe I understand what it is." Despite what Master Yuurei said, Zeph highly doubt that this training would be, as he said, 'boring'. Any training would be useful, no matter how mundane, or tedious it seemed to others. After all, Zeph's patience was almost infinite, one of the few things that he had over the humans, while using the same type of body as them. Taking another bite, he began contemplating what it would be like to meditate, allowing himself to zone out just a little. There was bound to be something to come of it, or it would simply be a steady pace without turbulence. He was definitely interested, that was for sure. |

Yuurei was eating his meal as this was something that they should do in the forest. Being around nature was good to start at meditating right? Yeah it was and it would be harder for him to do it in the city of Magnolia with people screaming, laughing, arguing, or just plain noises from other contraption. He looked at Zeph as he did understand, which was good to know. If he could clear his mind focus on that demonic point of him, then he could suppress it further down the line. He could do this to the point where his focus could be towards something that would sooth his mind, heart and body as well. He was hoping later on he could confront the demonic part inside of him, so he could allow it to take over his body and restrain it when it was going too far. You could ask why Yuurei wanted him to learn how to do something like that? Well it was fairly simple, there were times in one’s life that they couldn’t hold back. The demonic side of Zeph could be what allows him to throw everything onto the table and make sure that his life didn’t come to an end, or better yet those around him wouldn’t die, if they were in the verge of it. He would focus on that point later, but for now they had to start off somewhere. He was finally full though; all this conversing between the two of them was good enough. He didn’t seem upset with doing something like this though, which was good. He had leaned back on the chair though as he patted his stomach. ”That was good indeed, but yeah we shall start that part of your training today, so finish up,” he said to Zeph. Vlad had heard this and shook his head as he was still eating. He couldn’t wait to go back to the forest and he figured that he should be training as well. It would be the best thing for him to do as well. He couldn’t stay in this state forever. He had magic as well and his eyes a very powerful magic at that. It was something he used to protect himself, those around him and especially his master. Yuurei had gotten up from his seat though as he took the rest of the juice that was in his cup right now. He stretched a bit as his hands were in the air right now. Vlad on the other hand saw this and rushed over to Yuurei as he climbed on his jacket and onto his shoulder. He looked over to him with a smile on his face. ”Well I guess I can try to meditate as well. It’s not bad to learn something new every day right?” he said to Yuurei. The Dragon slayer chuckled when he heard this because it was not something he didn’t think Vlad would want to do. ”Do you think you can really meditate, if you can then I’ll buy you a bag full of fruits of your liking then,” he wasn’t sure if Vlad could do it though. The way he acted, he couldn’t see him staying still unless he was eating. Vlad nodded because he was going to do it for the bag of fruits he better do it. ”I’ll be in front of the house. Take your time with eating and getting ready,” he said to Zeph as he walked towards the door and exit the house. He stood in front of the place as he leaned on the wall behind him. ”He seems to have taken a liking to you,” Vlad said. ”Hopefully it stays like that. He has good intention with a good, but his demonic form could never take control of him to the point where he could never return. That is why he needs to train his mind over everything first. A strong mind, a strong will means that this demon won’t take over like it has been doing every now and then,” he smile and petted Vlad as the monkey enjoyed that more than anything in the world. |

Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice

Zeph merely nodded in response to Master Yuurei, as he continued to eat his food. He was trying the remember the last time he had sat down and had an actual meal. It had to of been back before the whole deal with the Inquisition. It had been quite the pleasant meal, one that had been with a dark mage name Bones and a maid of sorts called Cisnei. It had been one of his more educational outings, learning a great deal about how to interact with overs, as well as their reactions. It was also the moment he discovered what a restaurant was. Before that he had only eaten in inns, or cooked game that he had hunted down on his own. Just thinking about that day brought a small smile to his face. Amongst the chaos, he had found good times, which made such fond memories. He would need these memories in days to come, to keep himself sane. It did not take long, but Yuurei had already left the house, for Zeph to finish his food. Setting his fork across his plate, he stood. Looking in the direction that his Master had gone, he found himself getting uncomfortable. At first he couldn't think why, but then it hit him. He was going to be outside, completely unprotected from the rays of the sun. The thought was unnerving to say the least. Yes, Zeph had stripped off his protection for a fight while in broad daylight, but that was only as a necessity, and he always had the fight to focus on so that sun did not seem to exist to him in those moments. This was different. He was about to stride, willingly and aware, into the sun. Walking through the home, feet silently passing across the floor, he remained firm. If he was to take control of his instincts, he had to overcome this foolish fear. It was something born from his previous life, and had not place in this one. Not bothering to locate his coat, or even boots, Zeph exited the home, stepping into the sun. His entire body tensed up as he became exposed to the sun. Zeph just stood there, eyes clenched shut as he felt the warmth on his arms and face. Slowly, he finally opened his orange eyes, looking down at his hands. There was no pain, no torment from the light. Not to anyone in particular, Zeph began to speak, "The skies, like the earth, were scorched from the moment I woke. Ash and smoke and built up over centuries of constant destruction and blocked out the sun. When I first came here, the sun terrified me. The massive orb of light was going to destroy my very essences. Why wouldn't it? I was denizen of darkness, I should have be unable to survive." Looking to his Master, "You wield this light, you are its master. I knew it the moment I saw you, you shine so brightly. It was fitting that someone who controls what I fear should be the one that I follow. That is probably the same reason I chose the Light Mage Jaxus to continuously butt heads with." Turning his whole body to face his master, he held his arms open, "You questioned my conviction, before. Well, here it is. I stand before you, bathing in the very thing I fear most. I will overcome all obstacles. I will let nothing stand in my way," His eyes burned with his dark determination, a hint of madness lined the last over his words, of course, one had to be mad in order to push themselves beyond their limits. Yuurei was waiting for Zeph as it wasn’t a long wait. Still, he figured that he had gotten cold feet, or at least was thinking about something right now in the house. Yuurei just waited though as he didn’t know everything about the man. Still, his scent only got stronger, which meant he was moving towards him and he when he heard the door open next to him he looked at Zeph. Still, he had given the young man a weird look and it was only for one reason. He had frozen in place, his eyes were closed, and it seemed like his body could only harden so much he would just crumble. He rubbed the back of his head trying to figure out what he was so scared of and then he started to think about how he had approached him when they had first met. He looked up to the sky and noticed that sun was shining bright on them and then looked back at Zeph and it only brought out a smile on his face. It seemed like the man had been scared of the sun, but there was probably a pretty good reason for that. He wasn’t sure what it was, but the sun didn’t do anything to him as his eyes opened up and he looked lost to what was going on here. The Dragon Slayer could only chuckle a bit, but then he spoke up. It seemed like where he was from, there was no sun where he was from, and so he feared the sun. That was interesting to hear, but the sun wasn’t that scary from where they were. It provided them the heat that this place needed for human to survive and for other things to grow and spring out new life. Yuurei smiled though as he heard his words and he brought his hands on the man’s back just to pat it. ”Yeah the sun isn’t scary. It’s actually something of magnificent beauty. I mean I prefer the moon over the sun, but it won’t do you harm in the sense that you will be destroy by it. Trust me the sun is more soothing than it is scary. Hell, if it had the ability to do that, then I think this world wouldn’t have much problems with people with evil cores in them being able to survive the sun then,” he joked about the last part. He placed his hand to his side and heard about a man name Jaxus being Zeph’s rival. The man didn’t say it in particular, but this was a man he had constantly fought with, so what else was it? After that was done he looked at Zeph as the young man had turned and was looking directly at him. Yuurei kept his eyes on him as well and it seemed like he felt freer than he was before. Yuurei nodded as he heard those words and he was glad that he was able to do this. He trying to prove him that he would do anything to become stronger, which was good to hear and he nodded understanding him. ”That is good to know that Zeph. You will need that exact conviction to train with me. I mean there are times I might take a little too far, so you need exactly that conviction to get back on your feet and move forward, But let’s make our way to the forest,” he said as he started walking off towards the Eastern Forest. The people of Magnolia would call Yuurei’s name out to him and wave towards him. He waved back at them with a smile on his face. They didn’t give Zeph any look as they didn’t know who he was. They, however, understood that he was a friend of Yuurei, so a few of them would give him a smile as well. ”With me there is one thing I could say I will try my best when you bump heads with Jaxus, that he will be surprised by how much you improved since your last encounter,” he smiled. Yuurei was training him of course, which he would have to get him in tiptop form, so he could face the dangers ahead of him and fights he would get himself into. ”Who is stronger between the two of you?” he asked that question and he was being serious about it. He just figured he didn’t need to tell him that as he was being honest with him from the beginning. |

Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice
|
Zeph had to think for a moment as Master Yuurei posed his question in regards to the strength difference between himself and Jaxus. This should have been a simple answer, but the fact was that, though Zeph had been physically stronger, Jaxus had the advantage magic wise. "The last we fought, I dominated him through physical force and speed. My battle experience gave me a large advantage over him as well, but he had superior magical skills," He responded, before adding more, "Though when he traveled with my group to the North he had grown a great deal. I was still stronger, but it was apparent that he had been training a great deal more than I had." By now, Zeph wouldn't be surprised if Jaxus had already surpassed him at this point. It was his own fault, but after the whole issue with the Inquisition, he had not been able to work on his own skills, that and the fear of losing control had grown. Following his Master through the city was, actually, quite the experience. Thanks to his presence, the people around them did not treat Zeph with mistrust, suspicion. Before, all were wary of the man with the red hair. He knew that he felt... Wrong. Just him being around felt wrong to a number of people that were sensitive to the the natural order of this world. However, Master Yuurei's presence seemed to dispel all of it. They called out and waved to Yuurei, but they paid no mind to Zeph. It was better than it was before, so he was happier. Flexing his hands, Zeph looked down at them again. The sunlight hitting his white skin made him appear to be slightly glowing. Having avoided the sun for so long, he was not aware that the lack of exposure would eventually lead him to experiencing his very first sunburn. It would be not so pleasant. This whole deal would teach him a great deal, and that is excluding what he would be learning from Master Yuurei. |
