There was no warning, whatsoever, the stranger that entered the clinic simply whisked his hand and Tea and Sendou would fall into a deep slumber. It was not by accident that they would fall into such a trap. It was by design. Meanwhile, as Gryffin and Calum were buying the supplies, he was tasked to get the meat deliveries from the butcher. He so happily obliged since it was the least he could do for the doctor, seeing as how he doesn’t have the necessary funds for paying him back for what he had done for Taiga’s recovery. And though it was a long wait at the butcher’s shop, a good hour-long as he watched the large man traditionally cut the whole animal into the proper choice cuts, he managed to bring with him a basket full of freshly chopped meat. It was as he was on his way back to the clinic, however, that he noticed that the frontage seemed like something exploded. He quickly went inside in worry, only to find the entire clinic seemingly destroyed, with no sign of Taiga, Tea or Sendou. And just as he turned to the front door, he saw Doctor Calum raise a hand and felt a powerful gust of wind strike at him, knocking him unconscious. When Tea would finally regain consciousness, she would find herself locked in a small cage, enough for her to fit in but not move about. The cage was inside some sort of a large caravan wagon and there were more cages around her. One had Taiga who was seemingly still recovering, and another was with Sendou inside. And then there was Gryffin, who although was not in a cage, but was facing down on the floor, with iron cuffs on his hands and legs, tied from his back, also unconscious. |

When Tea awoke, groggily, she instinctively felt for her hat. Ever since she'd finally gotten one that could fit over her horns, she'd made sure to wear it every moment of the day. Thus, as her hand touched her hair she let out a yelp--which was answered with a squawk. Tea was now wide awake, and took in her surroundings as quickly as she could. It looked as though they were in a camp of some sort, on a wagon, with a large amount of cages all around. Sendou's squawk had caused something of an uproar from said cages, and as Tea looked around she could make out numerous different animals, calling in distress. "Poachers" Tea thought, frowning. "I guess that means they probably grabbed Taiga too." Tea was particularly shaken at this revelation, and she knew exactly why. "How do I explain this to Gryff--" she began, stopping upon seeing Gryffin chained up nearby. He seemed to be unconscious, but Tea was still relieved that he was ok. "So they caged up all the animals, but didnt waste cages on the humans" she thought, "which does bring up an important question..." "Why in hell am I in a cage too??" Tea thought back on how this had happened, and frowned. She had been attending to a customer at the clinic, who was too busy gawking at her to ask for help, when suddenly he'd waved his hand, and she felt incredibly sleepy. "So he was a mage. A poacher mage. Obviously." Tea thought. As she had begun to lose consciousness, she'd seen a man come out from underneath the blanket with a net of some sort. "So I guess his Exotic Animal was just his partner, ready to capture anything they found. That's a cheap trick" she reflected. Tea sighed, and tried to make herself comfortable. Tea's cage was just small enough for sitting up straight to be improbable on account of her horns, but with some creative leaning she managed something of a lounging position. Looking around, she spotted Sendou's cage (he was satisfied that he'd gotten Tea's attention, and had already made himself comfortable) but she couldn't catch a glimpse of Taiga. "At the very least, I ain't chained up" she thought, adjusting her position once more, "But if I act too soon, I reckon they'll correct that; i'd better sit tight for now.". "I just hope that ol' doctor is alright..." Edited by Anta, Aug 25 2015, 09:52 PM.

Gryffin grunted as he rolled to the side, his cheeks hitting the cold floor. He still felt weak for some reason so he was a bit lazy to open his eyes. But it was only after he could recognise some voices that he did managed to squint open his eyes. And then he was shocked to find himself chained and on the ground of some caravan-like wagon and see Tealin and Sendou in cages. “What the? What happened? Tea, Sendou, are you guys alright? Why are you–“ He was about to go near their cage and hopefully get them out when he fell flat on his face after he had maximized the length of his chains. He grunted as he rolled to the side again and then tried to get back up, only to manage to kneel. “What is this? What happened? When I got back to the clinic, everything was destroyed and then Doctor Callum, he…” he paused mid-sentence and then looked to the opening of the wagon as the said wagon stopped moving and he heard someone coming from the outside. “This is bad. If only I got my sword.” And to his surprise, the person who appeared at the opening of the wagon was none other than Doctor Callum himself. He was wearing an oriental robe and looked far different from when they first met, probably because he now had his hair tied back. Still, he had that familiar mannerism of his, fixing his glasses and then looking at him with focused eyes. “I see you’re finally awake. I was worried it had been too powerful and you wouldn’t wake at all. Or perhaps it is because you’re a lot different from what you say you are,” said the Doctor as he raised a hand to reveal a crystal with a rainbow-like light reflected inside. “This is a very powerful magic. Is it because you’re a Faldin?” Almost immediately, Gryffin felt a bit scared. If this person knew who he truly was, then it could only mean that he was probably one of the few spies in this country who were after his Nana. But could the target this time be him? “What do you want?” He almost growled, trying to look as fierce as he could, though he anticipated the worse. “Nothing much. Just checking. I’m merely here to make sure my wares are all fine. We’re almost at the auction house.” And with that, he closed the wooden door to the wagon’s back entrance and they would hear a locking sound from the other side. |

Tea had ignored Gryffin's question at first; she was just glad to see him moving again. When he explained what had happened to him. Tea frowned, and looked about their surroundings. "If they captured you, whaddya reckon they did with Callu--" Tea began to ask, stopping herself upon feeling the wagon lurch to a stop. With some difficulty, Tea managed to turn herself around, to the source of the footsteps she'd heard. She found herself face to face with Doctor Callum himself, and was about to joyfully cry out--until he began speaking. She saw the doctor, whom she'd taken to calling the "good doctor" for his unprecedented generosity, first express concern for the boy they'd both seemed to care for so much...then contempt, as he revealed what Tea assumed was something no one but the boy had any business knowing. Finally, tears welled up in Tealiin's eyes as Callum, who'd taken them in in their time of need, revealed his betrayal. If it weren't for her catching a glimpse of her prized hat hooked to Doctor Callum's belt, Tea might have simply wept. But, overwhelmed with anger, fear and rage as she was Tealiin didn't weep; She screamed. Tea knew, as eyes narrowed, her anger replaced with a calm seething, and she focused entirely on one single goal--one act of revenge for all the trouble she and her new friends had to endure--that she was going to kill Callum. Sendou let out a concerned squawk, suddenly feeling not very better-than-everyone-else, but in fact just a bit helpless. Edited by Anta, Sep 9 2015, 03:44 AM.

He was speechless as he watched the doctor disappear and then the door to the wagon close; locked. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard. Not simply because of the betrayal, but because the doctor knew of his identity all along. And now that he thought much about it, he could have been the target ever since. What if it wasn’t a coincidence all this time? In a flurry of panic, Gryffin quickly turned around and looked for Taiga. Seeing the fire tiger in one of the cages, asleep and seemingly recovering still, he was relieved. But a newfound courage now burned within his heart. There was no way he would allow anyone to harm his family, much less use him to serve that goal. “We have to escape this place before we get traded in that auction house,” he told everyone and then looked over to Tea, “Tea, can you break my chains, somehow? I would have asked Taiga but it looks like he’s still out for the count at the moment. And once I can break free, we’ll be able to get you guys out of there right away.” |

Gryffin's confidence snapped Tea out of her seething, and she considered his proposal with a frown. "Even using my magic, I dont think I can twist this here cage open, much less tear your chains apart" she admitted, tugging on the bars briefly to demonstrate. As she did this, Tea got another idea, and quickly stuck one of her hands through her bars; sure enough, the entire arm fit through. Tea smiled, and turned to Gryffin; "...That dont mean I cant get you outta there, though. You're just gonna need to be quick about it, ya hear? You'll know when to act." she said. Grabbing the bars of her cage, Tea began pushing herself again and again against her cage, using her bodyweight to shift the cage forward till it was nearly to the now closed wagon door. Alright, im close enough to grab at someone now she thought, but if I can't stun them or nothing, this is all gonna go belly up As she thought, Sendou squawked angrily; his cage was atop Tealiin's, and the movement had interrupted his important grooming session. Upon hearing Sendou, Tea's smile brightened even further; he was a smart bird, and she'd already taught him just the command they'd need. "Gryffin, I'm gonna need you to call out in pain right now; I don't rightly know what they want ya for, but I doubt they wantchya dead. Scream, cry, act like you're sick--something to get them over here. Me and Sendou will handle the rest." Tea explained, careful to keep her voice down. If Gryffin didn't comply, Tea would yell out in pain instead. ----------------------------------- One way or another, one of the smuggler's approached and opened the wagon. Sendou, get him now! Tea commanded, Sendou immediately obeying. With a single flash of his Camcondor magic, the smuggler was blinded, and easily pulled into the wagon by the advantageously positioned Tealiin. Crashing him against the wagon floor, even without the extra strength of Tea's magic, proved to be enough to knock him out cold. "Gryffin, I don't recommend knocking folks out like that; its a good way to hurt them real bad or give em' a concussion, and it might not even work the first time" Tea explained as she detached the smuggler's keys from his belt, sliding them towards Gryffin. The noise was heard by the rest of Calum's associates, and voices were already raised outside. They'd nearly reached the auction house, but they werent close enough to face resistance from them as well. "If you ever gotta do something like that to someone--and I hope ya'll never have to-- then learn some sleep magic, or grab a charm, like...Callum did..." Tea started to drift off, once more seething...imagining what she'd do to that lying doctor when she caught up with him... A timely squawk from Sendou brought Tea to her senses, and she turned back to gryffin as though nothing had happened. "Hurry up with that, kid; we kinda made a big ruckus!"
