Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

When Desire had whispered to Brian about the vials in the villain's belt (or rather, Red Riding Hood's Belt) his eagle eyes had caught sight of them. And at the range he was at from this person, approximately 15 feet, he was a surgeon with a gun. He could basically shoot the dots off a pair of dice at that range. That is if the ground were stable. But given that they were on shaky ground, standing on a thick branch and looking at the villain, Brian wasn't entirely sure but again at that range, he was still a surgeon.

Thinking it out in his head, he knew that Desire was going to do something which would require her to cause the branch that they were on to be a little more shaky. By instinct, Brian reached out for the trunk of the tree and grabbed anything his fingers could latch onto.

Then when Desire cried out, "Hold Tight!"

He did just that, he held tight and took aim at the villain. There was a flash of reflection off the glass bottles in his belt and Brian wasted not a fraction of a second. His hand came up and took aim down the barrel of his lacrima gun and he took aim.

The bullet flew out and all time seemed to slow down.

He watched while there was an explosion of shattered glass from the villain's belt.

The villain cried out while Brian brought his arm around and held onto the tree while Desire was shaking all the wooden johnnies off.

Pinkie seemed to ignore the creeping Woodies, as she traded words with 'Red Riding Hood', as she had so named him. Obviously, the first Woody she had encountered had inherited its mouth and brain from Riding Hood, as Riding Hood showed his ability to completely divert from the subject at hand and go into other unnecessary drivel. Pinkie's ploy seemed to distract him well enough, because she was able to quietly divulge her plan to Brian and Cleia, and yet insult Cleia also. Cleia's face slightly flushed with mild annoyance, but she kept her composure and only gave a light huff. "Granny Gnome"? What a misnomer.

Anyway, Pinkie's plan seemed sound enough, and as soon as Pinkie yelled out for them to hold on tight, Cleia reduced her center of gravity by falling prone and hugging the branch they were on. What Pinkie had hoped for happened, because the Woodies were flung clean off, giving everyone a chance at Riding Hood. She noticed that Brian was already taking careful aim, while Desire had gone over to engage in physical combat. Time for her to lend her own support...

Pushing her body into the "on your marks" position, Cleia took a deep breath and sprinted in Pinkie's wake. Although Pinkie did not meet with much success against Riding Hood, her move made two big openings for her allies. Brian took the first, and expertly fired off a shot that destroyed some vials on Riding's belt. The shock of Brian's sudden attack would most likely cause Riding to release his grip on Pinkie, and he would be nigh oblivious to the black-haired diminutive mage sliding past, on Pinkie's right, her own hand opened with fingers splayed out, and a ball of runes already formed in front of her palm.

"Katsu!!!"

Her yell would be accompanied by a bluish burst of energy which surged out of the ball of runes, which had rapidly unraveled to release it. The blast would go hurtling into Riding from the side, if he was unable to guard against it, flinging him off the tree in the process. If he was made of wood, like his pet Woodies, or anything just as sturdy or less, he would be really sorry for himself. Cleia's Jinrai was strong enough to rip through wood with relative ease.

While Desire was still wheezing due to the effect of Red Riding Hood's blow, her two companions were making the best of the afforded opportunities she had given them. Brian had aimed, and shot true, his bullet breaking not one, but two of Red Riding Hood's vials. And not so soon afterwards, Cleia had stepped up and fired one of her strange blue-energy-rune-blast-things at the hooded man, the blast plowing into him from his left. He spiraled off the tree on which he had stood before, corkscrewing dramatically as he fell.

The tree, for its part, seemed to have been affected by the broken vials. As it were, Red Riding Hood controlled his plant minions by the use of the liquids inside the vials which he carried on his belt; Desire had learned that much when she had met him for the first time, and he had given her the monster seeds to plant earlier in the day. What exactly the green and red vials did, Desire could not say; she only knew that the orange one had the effect of connecting a plant to whoever touched the liquid, or something like that. But soon the effect of the red vial was known, for Brian had hit both the red and orange vials when he shot at Red Riding Hood.

The monster tree began to twist and bend slowly, bowing itself down to the ground gradually, until it formed a wooden arc of sorts. Then it began to disintegrate. Leaves shriveled, branches dropped, wood began to flake, until what had been a great monster tree was now nothing more than huge piles of sawdust. As the tree slowly seemed to be dismantled from the inside out, Desire attempted to make her way down the tree, clutching her side as she did. Although she was quite slow, the drooping of the tree made her descent not so hazardous. That was two blows she owed Red Riding Hood.

Talking about Red Riding Hood, the man reappeared, face still obscured but body language and voice an obvious indication or rage. "You will pay for your interference, all of you!" he yelled, "You will all pay!" He drew out the last vial from his belt, the one with the green liquid in it, and poured it on the ground at his feet. Instantly vines sprang up all around him, wrapping his body until they formed some sort of large living armor with Red Riding Hood totally obscured within it.

The living vine creature selected Cleia first, either due to its intention to repay her first for her blast-rune-thing attack, and charged towards her, a hand-like appendage raised to strike.

Brian felt the cooldown of his Simple Shot had come to a close and was ready to draw it and fire. That was when holding to the trunk of this tree had actually been something worth heeding. After the Villain had tumbled off and to the ground, the tree began to shake, shimmy and wilt. It's trunk bending forward and creaking like dried wood cracking. The way it bent made Brian think of a sapling so easily malleable.

When the tree had bent into a great arc of wilting leaves and withering wood, he hopped off to the glorious and wonderful cobblestone ground of the city. Had it been any other moment, Brian would have gotten to his knees and kissed the stones, not caring about what could be down there.

But he kept his eye on the Villain, who miraculously survived the fall. And there were his comrades at arms, Desire and Cleia who had their sights set upon their target as well.

Now that his cooldown was complete, Brian switched the lacrima pistol to his other hand and drew out his spell gun. In that instant, the villain had poured one of the last vials from his belt and encased himself in a plant like armor.

Brian let out a very silent sigh and grunt of frustration, "When is this damned day going to end?!" He cried out in his mind.

Finally, things were looking up for the trio that sought to bring an end to Riding's menace. Not only had Brian's shot destroyed two out of the three vials, but Cleia's attack had also bulldozed him off the tree. It would seem that the red vial was responsible for bringing the life of the monster tree to an end, for once the red liquid touched the tree, it began to bow over, rapidly aging in an uncanny way, until it would be nothing but dust and ashes, almost literally.

Cleia didn't find too much trouble maintaining her balance on the tree, and she waited for it to bow fully to the earth before jumping off and landing on the solid terra firma. Once down, she glanced around. Where was Riding, now? It would be actually surprising if he had any more fight left in him after that fall. And the villain showed himself, and annoyingly, he was still very capable of fighting. The last vial was still more or less intact, and this he chose to utilize, spilling the contents on the ground at his feet.

The result of the green potion was Swamp Thing. And Swampie was obviously very angry with the trio, although he seemed to think that Cleia deserved to face the initial spate of attacks. He came running, his form different, but the mode of attack not unlike that of the Woodies. With him attacking somewhat blindly at this rate, he hopefully would be reckless enough not to notice Pinkie and Brian if they attacked. And even if they didn't, Cleia still had one more trump card she had hardly used today.

She pointed at the ground and drew an imaginary circle around herself, with a shield of runes instantly springing up around her to form a semi-circular shape. As the shield received the brunt of Riding-Swampie's blow, a scythe formed in Cleia's hands. She made a wide swing at Riding-Swampie's chest, aiming to slice through his thatch armor and cause him some damage. As was her normal behavior, she didn't wish to kill him, which was why she tried to refrain from slicing him in two.

"Oh, what a pleasant surprise," Desire muttered with irritation as she noticed the vine armor that Red Riding Hood had encased himself with. It seemed he wasn't growing any more Woodies, instead opting to make the attack by himself; that could be an indication that the endgame had already begun. This was the last set of cards of Red Riding Hood, and he was probably now desperate, and definitely very angry. He was attacking Cleia at present, leaving the others free to attempt to make their own attacks.

Cleia, for her part, had used her rune-shield-thing to defend herself, as she made an attack at Red Riding Hood's chest. The scythe slashed easily through the soft tissue of the vine armor, although Red Riding Hood managed to draw back and avoid the weapon itself from drawing blood. Almost instantly, the hole made by the slash sealed itself off, and the vine monster staggered backwards with an angry rasp. "You'll never best me, no matter what you do!" Red Riding Hood screeched, as he slammed his hands, or whatever passed off as the vine monster's hands onto the ground.

A few moments later, each of the three mages would feel a slight rumble under their feet, just before a number of vines would spring out from the ground beneath each mage, seeking to entangle them. Desire, in the meantime, had been watching the short exchange between Cleia and Red Riding Hood with interest, a plan forming in her head. Soon after, a number of vines erupted under her, snagging her arms and legs. If Desire's magic was still unavailable, it was very likely that she would be hard-pressed to free herself. Fortunately, that was not the case.

Tapping into her magic once again, Desire's arms changed color once again as she strained at the vines and tore them quickly from off her, ripping those which would not tear with her grown talons. Then she rushed at the vine creature, slashing at any vine that got in her way with her claws. Once within striking distance, she began tearing away at the creature, from its left side. She knew Red Riding Hood was more or less immobilized, as she had deduced that the vines which had attacked everyone had grown from the body of the vine monster and through the ground to attack the mages, making Red Riding Hood unable to move for the time being. The whole idea was to attempt to wear him down with attacks from three angles, provided Cleia and Brian were all for attacking and not just passively attempting to wait the scene out. He would get overwhelmed enough for a final attack, which Desire was hoping would be hers.

Yet she would need teamwork from the others to see any semblance of success, as vines began springing from the body of the vine creature, slowing her down little by little. If no one else pitched in to help, the situation would become hairy for the Take Over mage... or maybe leafy would be the more correct word to use.

Brian felt the growing frustration at this entire situation. It was just never ending with this crew. He thought bitterly to himself that when this was all over he was going to distance himself from these two women indefinitely. But now was the time to focus and fly for the target. He watched when the villain had set his sites upon Desire and made his attacks for her.

With the thing distracted, Brian dashed up behind him closing the distance meant that the effect of his Simple Shot would be much greater. If he could shove the muzzle of his gun up against him then it would make things much better. And given the attacks that he was making and how Desire was keeping him distracted, it gave him the perfect opportunity.

Using the speed of the quickdraw that he had practiced so many times at home and at the shooting range, he brought his spell gun up and shoved it's muzzle against the back of the Vine-thing's head and pulled the trigger:

"SIMPLE SHOT!"
He cried out in his mind.

The magic gathered, the circle appeared and the shot was made.

Her Shakujou seemed to have been made just for Riding's armor, though as she had expected, the gash made by her scythe was quickly sealed off again. Riding relied on a new move, striking his fists against the earth. It was getting almost cliche, that when an enemy struck the ground with their hands, they intended a surprise attack from beneath. Which was why when the ground began rumbling slightly, Cleia displaced herself, changing her position and taking her shield with her.

Riding's vines burst out of the ground well and good, but a little off to the side of her, and outside the barrier she had set up. Immediately, the vines began trying to wrap around the barrier, to stop her from moving about, if that was possible. Cleia's response was to divide her Shakujou into two sickles, and slice the interfering vines into salad bits. Noticing that Pinkie had forcibly freed herself and was attacking the immobile Riding from the left side, and Brian was circling to make his attack from the rear, Cleia decided to take a head-on approach. Besides, she was already protected by a field, and Riding so far had not shown any ability to break through it.

She drew close quickly, slicing through any vines that would have tried to hinder her progress with ease, and linked the Shakujou sickles back into a single scythe variant. Aiming a diagonal blow at his torso again, this time she sought to take the blow a little deeper, so that he would still get himself a nasty gash even if he tried to dodge.

Cleia was hoping that he would have to reinforce the armor on his chest, drawing on the rest of the vine armor to make the other parts of his body more vulnerable. If he did that, either Pinkie or Brian would have a clear shot at taking him out. Or, he could prove to be stubborn and try to take her scythe to the chest.

Either way, it looked like his luck had finally run out.

If there had been anything Red Riding Hood had not expected, it was the ability of these three mages to attack him with such seemingly premeditated co-ordination. Just as he thought he was going to get Desire tangled up, with her partners probably looking to their own devices, the criminal realized that Desire's attacks had apparently been just a distraction. The short rune mage was practically unhindered by his attempted attacks, and now made a visibly much stronger attack at his torso. The gun mage, who Red Riding Hood decided to most foolishly underestimate, was skulking around somewhere, and of no interest to Red Riding Hood.

His last mistake for the day.

Quickly using whatever vines he had concentrated on fighting Desire to shove her away, Red Riding Hood focused much of the plant matter he used to cover himself to create a quick shield of sorts which would absorb the damage of Cleia's slash. So essentially, Red Riding Hood's armor was much thinner on every other part of his body. Which was what Brian had probably noticed when he whipped his magic gun to the back of Red Riding Hood's head and pulled the trigger.

The bullet hit at almost pointblank range, the impact of the projectile knocking what sense Red Riding Hood didn't have out of him. While Cleia's attack had made just a graze, it had been what made Brian's shot perfect. As the vine armor disintegrated, Red Riding Hood stood tottering, his consciousness struggling to hold on to his staggering frame. However, Desire, unwilling to let the matter end so 'nicely' for Red Riding Hood, stepped up with a spectral green blade emanating from her fingers, and drove it into his head. That was enough to knock the rogue out completely.

He collapsed to the ground, no wound visible on his head, which was wreathed in green flame, and he lay still. Red Riding Hood was quite alive, obvious by his breathing, but he was down and out for the count. Deactivating her powers, Desire fell to a sitting position, breathing heavily. All was quiet in the square at last. Only then would the three mages notice that people had been watching the whole proceedings in silence. Confident that the threat had passed, they began to troop out, saying different things, all of which had to do with Fairy Tail managing to save the city once again. The people of Magnolia crowded round the three mages, yelling commendations and congratulations.

Desire for her part, was very much eager to get out of the place, if not for anything but the fact that she was quite unwilling to answer questions about what had happened in the square. Yet the feelings of appreciation from the people did feel good... something she could get used to. So she tried to be as polite as she could, and struggled to weave her way out of the crowd in vain, with mixed feelings, stemming from the delight of being appreciated, and a darker, enigmatic piece of information which she had gained from Red Riding Hood when she had used her Thought Rend to attack him.

Whichever the case, one could say that the events of the day had given the half-demon girl an opinion reshuffling. Maybe being one of the "good guys" wasn't so bad after all.

Seeing the Villain finally fall defeated had made Brian uneasy. Maybe it was because of how long this one day was and how many times before it had looked like they had won when it turned out that they hadn't. He kept a hold of his guns thinking that perhaps the Villain was going to rise up once again to fight them. But there was nothing. The man had fallen to the ground completely unconscious.

An advantage of the simple shot, at such a close range it was a few times harder than a normal punch. And that was enough to knock anyone unconscious. With the villain down, Brian looked around and saw the citizens of Magnolia gathering around the edge of their battlefield. And soon they began to applaud. All of them cheering the heroes of Magnolia.

"Let's hear it for Fairy Tail!" One of them cried out.

"That's right! Three cheers for Fairy Tail!"

Brian only gave a very weak and a limp wave to the people feeling the exhaustion that was coming over him.

"Now, I just want a hot shower, a cold iced tea and a very large burger," He thought to himself. "Maybe I'll stop by the guild hall after this is over."
