Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

The Woody raised a reinforced arm to block her downward stroke, obviously intending to slow down her attack, then make a comeback of its own, while her weapon was lodged in it. This would have been a big problem for Cleia, because she didn't have the physical strength to yank the scythe out from the Woody, but the nature of her magic gave her an advantage that the Woody would not envisage. As it readied its second limb to attack, Cleia's Shakujou was already deconstructing itself at her end, where she wielded it, so that it left a shorter version of the Shakujou in the body of the Woody. That would disallow the wound to heal quickly, but even in the event that the healing process pushed the sickle out of the Woody's body, there would be a resultant injury that, before being healed off, could be exploited.

The part of the Shakujou that had broken away formed another sickle, razor-sharp and glowing, in Cleia's hands. She dodged towards the Woody, evading the incoming attack that its intact limb presented, while coming up close enough. With as much force as she could muster, she spun in a 360 degree fashion, swinging the sickle slightly upwards from a low position, so that it would cut into the Woody from the other side, below the ribs, and slice upwards and through to meet the other Shakujou sickle that stayed embedded in the Woody's shoulder.

With the injury from the first blade, and the cutting power of the second, further enhanced by her torque, there ought to be a sort of bifurcation that would leave the Woody in two asymmetrical pieces; of course the cut would pass through its chest region, effectively destroying it.

Unless something unprecedented happened...

After Brian had made a few shots to keep some of the tendrils from grabbing him, he managed to find purchase and haven on a small piece of debris. He had used up his lacrima bullets that he had kept in the magazine. He had holstered his spell gun and was trying to reload. But each time he had brought out the magazine and was about to insert it into his lacrima pistol, another tendril was coming at him.

He slipped it in and made a somersault motion back towards the tree, slipped the magazine into the gun, cocked it and tried to aim at the tendril but instead hit the ground.

"Damn," He said trying to get away once again.

Having dealt with her opponent, Desire turned to check up on the other two mages who were with her. It seemed Cleia was doing very fine, as her strategy had taken the monster which was fighting against her by surprise, with the short Fairy Tail mage's final attack cutting through its woody tissues, effectively dividing the creature in two. With a sigh-like sound, the creature expired, as dead bark dropped to the ground with a hollow thud and was still, all traces of life gone from it.

Brian's opponent seemed a little more problematic. Since he didn't have any cutting weapons at hand, his bullets just seemed to tear away at its extremities, which it quickly replaced. But due to the fact that the others had dispatched their opponents, he would not be still fighting his soon enough. Since the monster was fully concentrated on Brian, it did not see Desire approach from behind, and therefore was in no position to defend against her claws which she used in a stabbing motion to punch through the chest of the monster, her fist passing through its back, and erupting through its chest, with a shower of wood splinters and sawdust.

Having solved the matter decisively, Desire beckoned to the two Fairy Tail mages with one hand, the other hand pointing towards the square in which the huge trunk of the tree Desire had planted was. "No time to lose," she called out, as she began running towards the direction she had pointed. "Let's take that thing down once and for all!" Not waiting to see if the two Fairy Tail mages were following, Desire ran into the deserted square and jumped onto the trunk, climbing it with her claws. The tree was rather tall, about 30 feet tall, and most of its branches seemed to be growing into an adjacent street. But as soon as she began to climb, the large trunk shuddered and began twisting, as some of the branches in the other street began turning back toward the square.

Looked like the tree had noticed company.

Brian had heard the call from Desire. She was pointing towards the demon tree but then he saw it: a trunk of the tree coming out from underneath the slabs of stone used to lay down the pathways of the city. Brian already knew that this was the target that's why he kept trying to attack it but the trees tendrils of hands and arms kept swatting him away like he was a mosquito.

It got to the point where he was cursing the fact that he was so weak as a wizard. He was a C Class and yet he only knew a few weakened spells and yet there were kids in Fairy Tail that were stronger than him. How unfair life could be. Then again if life were fair he would still have his wife Aria and he would still have his voice. "It's not about not getting hit," Aria said, "It's about how hard you can be hit and still keep going."

"Well then," He thought to himself, "I"m going to keep hitting back."

With his simple shot recharged and his lacrima pistol already reloaded, he was ready to take his attack to the tree. He held the lacrima pistol in one hand and drew out the spell gun in the other and rolled out form where he was hiding and saw Desire.

She was climbing into the tree like she was a cat and the trunk of the tree was shuddering at her presence on its skin.

This was his moment to strike.

He ran as fast as he could towards the trunk bringing out his lacrima pistol first and taking aim. He squeezed the trigger as fast as he could sending out a good five shots. Then he drew out his spell gun and charged the spell.

The magic circle erupted from the gun and he said in his mind: "SIMPLE SHOT!"

And the spell rocketed to the trunk.

The Woody almost sounded sad as it crumbled into cork and wood shavings. Cleia released a sigh of her own, which was one of relief. For one, she was relieved that she did not sustain any damage while fighting this minion, as the monster tree in the park would probably prove more difficult. The second reason was, as she had gratefully noticed when she engaged it, it performed its battles seriously and silently. Now that hers was out of the way, she could help the others out...

She noticed that the others would not be needing her help much, as Pinkie had obviously dispatched hers, and landed a surprise attack on the Woody that was engaged with Brian, effectively destroying it. Fortunately for them, no other Woodies were sprouting anywhere near them, so they could now focus on the tree.

Pinkie took off and began scaling the tree, like it was just any other tree in Magnolia's Park. That was rather dangerous and perhaps not so well thought out. But perhaps since time was of the essence, Pinkie was thinking along the lines of, "the sooner we chop it down, the better for us." In that case, seeing as Brian was also making his run for the tree, Cleia decided to serve as a bit of a distraction, so that perhaps the other two might have a higher chance of success.

Now if there was any part of a tree that was important, it was its roots. So, to exploit this, as Cleia noticed the branches returning to the city square, obviously to ward them off, she fashioned her Shakujou into a scythe and began hacking violently at the monster tree's roots, while getting as close to the tree as possible. Strangely, being closer to the tree might be the safest place to be around it, as the branches that connected to the stem would be big, thick and very woody, thus disallowing extensive mobility.

If it decided to focus on Brian and Pinkie, Cleia would ensure that she performed a number on it roots. And if it focused on her, Brian and Pinkie ought to do a number on its trunk, or whatever it was they were aiming at.

All those, or the tree could just be annoying and multitask with its branches, of which it had many...

Even though the tree reacted to Desire climbing it, it made no attempt to dislodge her from its trunk, or even make any attack in her direction. This was because the tree recognized her. She'd been told by the fellow who had given her the magic seeds to plant in the fountain, the same one whose face she intended to smack the molars out of, that this tree could recognize people by their scent. And it hadn't attacked her then, when she was engaged in combat with the Fairy Tail mages, and so it was not going to attack her now. The others, Brian and Cleia, were probably not so favored. But if the tree had followed her commands back then, it would hopefully follow them now. Since the tree was autonomous, but seemed to have a psychic link with its owner, commanding it would be as simple as thinking... unless its current user had somehow given it new command parameters. Which was unlikely, since the tree wasn't attacking her at the moment.

Looking back over her shoulder, Desire saw that the tree's branches and roots were already moving into formation to attack Brian and Cleia, whose attacks had made a number of injuries which it had immediately attempted to cover using other less damaged part. She attempted to communicate with the tree mentally, urging it to stop attacking the Fairy Tail mages. To her delight, the tree slowed down, as if acquiescing to an undesirable request. She called out to the two mages to get their attention and dissuade them from attacking the tree further. The tree, after all, was her responsibility.

"Stop, you guys! I think this big guy still remembers me. I don't think it'll hurt you, as long as you don't hurt it," Desire announced, hoping that the Fairy Tail mages would let off their attacks. "Let's get to the top instead; I think the major problem is up there." Of course, by now Desire was sure that the masked plant magic guy would be aware of their presence by now, although she was sure that once the tree was attacked, he would have known. Anyway, she did want to get a few things straight before she left his face a bloody mess on the curb. Or maybe nothing that violent. It all depended on whether he allowed her first blow to sail unhindered into his face. And Desire was sure he wouldn't. Which she was desperately hoping for with perverse delight.

She considered an idea, then at her mental persuasion, a sturdy branch came alongside her, which she climbed on. Two other similar woody limbs were extended to the mages on the ground to hoist them up to the top of the tree. "The tree will help us to get to its top...." Desire informed them, as she deactivated her magic, the skin on her arms returning to normal. Pending when the mages got on the limbs, the tree would get them up to its highest level, where the masked man in his red cape and hood was standing and staring at them, his face obscured, but his stance obviously showed he was surprised.

"You!" he cried.

A bunch of Woody Johnnies were with him, though, and they began making their way towards the mages, climbing over the tree's branches like spiders. "Seems we have a bit of more floral butt-kicking to do," Desire announced, drawing her whip.

When Desire had made the call that the tree would help them get to the top, the frustration that Brian felt at that moment made him want to turn the gun on Desire and hopefully give her a good bruise to remember by. But then he watched from behind his hiding rock (or piece of debris) when the wooden tendrils came at him like the arms of an octopus. And that was when the began to weave together like strands being pulled over one another by some invisible weaver. Some of the wooden tendrils went horizontal. Others were vertical but by the time they were done, they had created a staircase.

Brian had seen pictures of such an art being done by people who lived in far off jungles who would weave together branches and roots of living trees until the trees eventually grew bridges for them.

Coming out from behind the rock he made his way for the woven wooden staircase and made his way up, up and up the flights until at last he met up with Desire and Cleia and there was the enemy in front of them.

Desire had said that they had some more floral ass kicking to do.

Already Brian could feel the pinch and drain of his magic after firing the Simple Shot so many times in one day.

"Ugh," He thought to himself, "I really have to work on my stamina."

He holstered his spell gun knowing that the only other spells that he had were his multi shot which wouldn't do that much good unless he were at close range. With the spell gun holstered he transferred his lacrima pistol to his right hand, ready and waiting to start firing.

Big surprise (no irony involved) it was, when Pinkie asked them not to hurt the tree. Cleia raised an eyebrow in an unspoken question, but she relented. It was all well too, for her Shakujou had dissipated. Listening to Pinkie's logic made a lot of sense, though Cleia was of the opinion that the masked guy who had apparently betrayed Pinkie would have... calibrated (was that even the right word?) the tree to be hostile to everyone, even Pinkie. But for all intents and purposes, the tree was still loyal to her, and even seemed to obey her mental orders.

The major problem, according to Pinkie, was at the top. Most likely the masked guy, or some Achilles heel that might take out the tree instantly, or even more Woodies. Whichever the case, at this current point in time, all roads led to the tree top, and the tree even offered her a branch to ferry her up there. She accepted its offer, feeling a little bad for trying to chop it up like that, but it couldn't stay here, and one way or another, it would have to go. Kind of sad, maybe, but right now, other things occupied her mind...

Like the new Woodies that were escorting the masked man, who stood at the top of the tree. He seemed shocked to see them, most likely because they were supposed to be enemies, but had now joined forces to oust him from his place. The Woodies didn't seem so shocked, and began to creep their way (just like creepos) towards the intruders.

Pinkie had her whip, Brian had his lachryma pistol, and Cleia had her... what? She needed to get herself a weapon after this entire mess.

Desire acted like she didn't see the woody monsters climbing all over the tree as the approached the three mages. Instead, she simply said to the masked man, her apparently loose stance belying her readiness to go on the offensive, "as it were, Red Riding Hood, I see this whole affair going one of two ways: you either tell your leafy creeps to back off, and you allow us to arrest you, and maybe ask you some questions, or you keep being difficult and allow us to have to beat you up to subdue you. Please tell me it's going to be the latter...."

The masked man snorted in reply, and replied in a condescending air, "unfortunately for you, my dear brat, you are in no position to give me options. You see, I have the advantage in skills, numbers and strategy, even though I'm surprised that the mages who I supposed would be the end of you have suddenly turned to help you out. If that's one of your powers, I should be afraid of you. But as it stands, I'm quite certain it's not. And while you...." He kept ranting and gesticulating as though he was in some sort of weird opera, giving Desire the time to whisper to the mages with her: "I'll explain later, but there are vials in his belt. I need one broken, if possible, Brian. Granny Gnome, a little help as I try to make an opening, please."

Yes, it was kinda rude still calling Cleia that, but there'd been no time to make formal introductions, and so Cleia would just have to make do with the name. Desire's magic was not yet ready to be used yet, but Desire expected that the excitement would get more intense than it currently was, at which point she hoped her poweers would be ready for use once again. But at the moment, she would attempt to make Red Riding Hood raise his arms high enough to move his cape upwards to reveal his belt, which she was sure Brian could shoot at and hit from his position.

Red Riding Hood was still talking, now saying irrelevant things most likely, as the Woodies got closer. Based on the fact that she still had some control over the tree, Desire decided to attempt to take advantage of that fact. Yelling to the other two, "Hold on tight!" Desire crouched, gripping the branch on which she stood firmly with her two hands and waiting just a brief moment for the others to heed her words as she attempted to communicate with the tree. It seemed Red Riding Hood caught on to her plan, for he shouted, "No!" No one knew whether he had stopped Desire from doing more, but the great tree shuddered once, suddenly, violently, flinging the Woodies off it. They fell screaming to the earth far beneath as Red Riding Hood cursed, gripping a few branches so as not to be thrown off the tree. By the time he had recovered his balance, Desire was already up and running towards him.

She was slower now; all the toll of the day's activities wore on her. Yet it wouldn't do to stop and roll over due to fatigue. There would be time for that after she had righted her mess. Now numbers were on her side, and she hoped her fellow mages would catch on to her plan and attempt to utilize the opening she was going to create. She grabbed the head of her whip, just beneath the barbed portion and raised it over her head, swinging it downwards in a stabbing motion. As she expected, Red Riding Hood was relatively more spry than she was, and raised his right hand, parrying her attack, while his left hand clenched and drove into her side, causing her to almost double over. Yet for a moment, his cape was lifted to reveal his belt, and three vials in it: one red, one orange and one green. Brian would choose which to shoot, if he pleased. Cleia, for her part, would have the chance to carry out an attack on Red Riding Hood while he was occupied with the pink-haired girl.
