”Oh hell no!” Against run of the mill grunts, she was fine. She could deal with swordsman, snipers, and maker mages without blinking an eye. ”Is that a fuckin wyvern?” If only her magic didn’t have such a long cooldown, she might have had a shot at stopping the beast. As it stood though, she was stuck with a bloody longsword, a dented shield, and some light armor. She didn’t have a single piece of magical gear on to her name, and her own tricks were used up for the time being. There was only one saving grace: the wyvern seemed to be focused on Jason, and he had quite a few tricks up his sleeve. For the time being, all she could do was watch his back. More grunts rushed for the light mage, but Razia intercepted them. She stopped one blade with her shield, and a second with her own sword. She was starting to run out of steam, but it looked like they were running low on numbers too. All that she could see was the wyvern and its controller, and then the two men that she was fighting. If they could just make it through a bit more, they’d be in the clear. Asking for it to be easy was too much to hope for though. These two were still fresh, and one of them opened up with a bit of magic. ”Toxic Breath!” Though the name made it obvious enough, the cloud of green gas that he exhaled was so blatantly deadly that the exquip mage didn’t even think to try tanking it. She just ran out of its path, but the attack tracked her as she moved. Of course that wasn’t the only thing she had to worry about. ”Take over: Poseidon Soul!” Razia had no clue what in the world Poseidon was, but she knew that take over could give the enemy just about any kind of magic out there. He had appeared as a veritable mountain of muscle, with a trident in one hand, and a ball of water in the other. That ball of water flew at Razia, but she ducked it and shoulder checked into the take over mage. At a full sprint, it was enough to send him down to the ground, but it took her with him. She knew that was coming, and scrambled back up to her feet. Just like she had planned, the poison cloud kept chasing her, and the take over mage got several deep breaths of toxic gas as he tried to get his wind back. Once the exquip mage had gotten enough distance to be clear of the poison cloud, a quick look back was spared to see if the takeover mage was still up. He wasn’t, and had reverted back to a cloaked body on the ground. One more down… but her muscles ached from exertion. No, they ached too much. She knew what exhaustion felt like, and this wasn’t it. The poison cloud finally stopped chasing her, having dissipated into the air. She was finally able to get a good look down, and she realized the trident must have gotten her in the few inches of exposed skin above her waist. Stupid sexy armor. She needed to get something proper one of these days. The wound was pretty deep, and it was only made worse by all the running she had just done. There was still one mage left for her to deal with, and she had to do it without a few pieces of her guts intact. ((Requip CD: 1/3 Weapon Levitation CD: ½)) |

Jason grunted. He really didn't know how to be afraid, all he saw was another thing to overcome. Jason ran at the wyvern and it's master, he had to do something fast. One glance at Razia and he could tell she wasn't in great shape. Jason threw the first punch, hitting the wyvern in the head. The hit did nothing to the beast, it only pissed it off further. Jason had to act quick, while his eye spell was still active. The wyvern snapped at Jason, going in for the kill. Jason narrowly avoided becoming the wyverns snack. He threw another punch, then another, and another. Still no effect. The wyvern bit at him once more, this time snapping his Susano'o arm clean off. The whole spell crumbled as a result, leaving Jason in an even poorer state than before. Jason stepped out of the wyverns reach, for a second, he needed to devise a plan. The mage net to the beast was obviously doing something to control the wyvern, else he'd be engaged in battle with Jason. The guy was probably some kind of summoner, which meant that if Jason could take him down...... perfect. Jason rushed forward, blood pouring from the cut on his thigh and soaking his pants, he was going to have to get that treated after this. The wyvern snapped at Jason once more, trying to stop him from reaching its master. Jason teleported out of harm's way, and closer to the summoner. He continued to run at the summoner as fast as he could, but the pain in his leg only grew with every step. He was slowing down, there was only so much he could muscle through after all. So Jason did the only thing he could, he made clones of himself. Two being who looked exactly like Jason appeared next to him. He subconsciously gave them the orders, and they started to close the gap between them and the summoner. The clones split up, one ran to the left, the other to the right. Jason tried his best to keep up, and ran directly at the summoner. Now he had to make a choice, he had to chose who to send his beast after. The summoner chose, the wyvern attacked the one on the left. It chomped on the thing which just shattered apart in it's mouth, and the summoner pulled out a knife, stabbing the one that attacked from the right. Luckily that clone had stayed intact long enough to give the man a good punch to the face. Jason was left, he limped full speed into the man, running him over. Jason's clone joined in, and started to kick the mans head. The clones movement proved to be to much for it to handle, and it also shattered. Jason wrapped his hands around the summoners throat, and tightened his grip. The summoner squirmed, and tried to shake the light mage but failed. The wyvern was rushing towards it's master, but was unable to do anything without the risk of harming the person who had summoned it. After what seemed like forever, the summoner went limp under Jasons grip, and the wyvern vanished. Jason rolled onto his back in victory. He was breathing hard. He had lost a considerable amount of blood, but probably wouldn't die from the thigh wound. Jason wasn't all that tired, he was just hurt and didn't feel much like moving around. Around him there were bodies of fallen enemies, some dead, other unconscious. Either way, they had won for now..... |

At range, Razia didn’t stand a chance. She made her way back towards the poison mage as fast as her body would take her, but that wasn’t fast enough to stop him from using another spell. ”Toxic bolt!” A long, thin spike of concentrated poison formed in his hand. He chucked it straight at Razia, and she did the only thing that she could; she raised her shield. Not good enough. The spear of poison went through the shield like it was barely even there. It slowed it down a little bit, but not enough to keep the tip from digging into the exquip mage’s shoulder. Once more, she powered on. Jason was already in bad shape as well, so it was up to her to finish this guy off. At least the wyvern seemed to have vanished, so they had that going for them. Nonetheless, Razia continued her charge towards the poison mage. She felt her left shoulder already starting to give in to the poison, so she made use of it while it was still workable. Her shield slid down and she grabbed it by the edge. As she ran, she went into a single spin and let go of her shield, throwing it like a discus at the poison mage. Direct hit. The force from all her movement and the weight of the shield added up into a blow that knocked the guy flat on his ass. Before he could even figure out what had just happened, a sword was spiked straight through his head. They were both beat to hell, but they had lived. Though being alive was nice, Razia was… less than pleased at that moment. ”The fuck was that about Jason? You know what? No. I don’t even want to know right now. Let’s just get to the goddamn hospital before one of us passes out from blood loss.” Oh man did he have some explaining to do. Even a kid could’ve figured out that they were primarily after Jason, not her. As far as ways to ruin a first date goes, assassins and a wyvern are pretty high up the list. Only actually getting killed would probably rank higher. Stubborn as ever, Razia made her way over to Jason and gave him a playful bop on the head with the bottom of her fist. The anger had faded from her tone when she spoke once more. ”Let’s go get cleaned up.” Above all, she just wanted to make sure that both of them wouldn’t do something stupid enough to get themselves killed before they reached the hospital. If he didn’t start moving, she’d pull him along, but the exquip mage started off towards the hospital. It was a big building, so it was hard to miss, even from the city center. ”Once we’re in better shape, I look forward to seeing how you plan to make up for assassins interrupting our first date.” By that point, her tone had returned to its old playful melody. Was she still a bit pissed about everything that had just happened? Yeah, she was. But that didn’t matter going forward. It was like Jason had said. ‘I don’t care about what you did in the past, I care about the person you are today.’ And today, they were both still alive. ((Requip CD: 2/3 Weapon Levitation CD: 2/2)) |

Jason sighed, half of it was relief the other half was loathing. He loathed the conversation that would have to happen. He owed Razia an explanation, he just hoped she wouldn't be to upset. Jason's leg was wet with blood, he had to do something to try and stop the bleeding. Jason sat up, feeling a little light headed. Jason looked at the wound on his leg, he had to patch it up soon, or else he wouldn't make it to the hospital. Jason grabbed a fist full of his sleve, and ripped it off. He wrapped the piece of cloth around his thigh, and tied it tight. The blood soaked into the white cloth, hopefully that would stop the bleeding. Jason sighed, Razia sounded livid. But she got over it quickly, which was good because the church would be back. Maybe not right away but they'd be back. Razia bopped him on the head lightly, probably trying to lighten the mood. "Sorry about that" Jason said softly, he felt like shit about what had happened. He was lucky Razia was the capable person she was, else he'd have been sitting here alone. Jason stood up slowly, his wound stung like hell. Now that his adrenaline had died he didn't think he'd be able to walk on his own. Jason didn't have words, how could Razia be so calm? Jason had just almost gotten both of them killed, and here she was playing with him. Jason wasn't used to such enthusiasm on the battlefield, most of the time he'd just walk around bitter and soulless after a hard fight. But then again, Jason didn't blank out during this fight. Jason never let his old self resurface, he never became the cold blooded killer he usually did when he was faced with adversity. But why was that? Was it because he had something to fight for? Someone to fight for? Usually Jason only fought because it was something others needed him to do. He had only fought other people's battles, but this time was different. This time he was fighting his own battle, and fighting for something he cared about. For the longest time Jason had asked himself, which one was the real him. The one who was a emotionless killer, or the one who ran his bar? Jason had figured it out now, he was the later. He had told Razia that their pasts defined them, but they weren't them. Jason was the man he was today because of the church, but he was not the man he was when he was part of the church. He smiled weakly at Razia. It was hard to believe that in just a few hours this girl had changed his life, probably for the better. "I think I owe you an explanation" Jason waited for her to get in what ever words she had to say then continued. "Before I was a guild mage, before I had opened my bar.... I was an assassin" Jason choked on the last word, Razia was the first person he had ever told this to, and it was hard. "I worked for the Zentopian Church, a secret branch that liked to forcefully spread the Light... those people only attacked us because I had almost spilt the beans, I had almost told you. Which was stupid on my part, I knew they were always watching.... but I didn't think they'd attack me over that" Jason continued, his voice full of sadness. " When I was 15 I left the church, which is something you don't do.... I ran away and went into hiding, but they knew where I was. They left me alone, as long as I never spoke of their existence I was fine, but now...." A wave of sadness washed over his body. He didn't want to lose his life. For the first time in a long time Jason had friends, real friends. He didn't want to give that up. "Now the cats out the bag, and we're both in danger, because of me. The church will be back, but for now we should focus on getting healed up, and getting stronger. So that we'll be able to beat anything they can throw at us...." Jason limped forward, he stood tall, right in front of Razia. Jason ran his finger through her hair. "Together?" He really really hoped she'd say yes. Not only did they make a good team, but if she did say yes he'd be getting to spend that much more time with her.... "And as to how I'll make it up to you..." Jason leaned over a bit, which hurt his leg like hell but he didn't care. He went in for a kiss, hopefully he'd get one..... Edited by Spider-Jay, May 25 2015, 05:27 PM.

So Jason thought he owed her an explanation. Given that he could barely stand, and she had a lovely set of holes her in stomach, that was an understatement, and the look she shot him showed exactly how she felt about that. The more he spoke, the more her look softened. She thought she had had it rough growing up. Living on the streets wasn’t exactly easy, but at least she never had to do anything she didn’t want to. She wasn’t forced to become a killer or anything like that. Though it was arguable who had it worse growing up, it was clear that both of them had shitty childhoods. One more thing they had in common. By the time Jason was done talking, Razia had found herself wrapped tightly around him. She wasn’t strong enough to protect him. Not yet. But she could stand beside him, and help him stay alive. If either of them had been alone during that attack, they would have been dead. Though they’d only known each other a few hours, but she felt a bond with him already. Maybe it was because they both came from troubled pasts, or maybe it was because he’d just defeated a freaking wyvern, but she felt safe with him around… even if she was slowly bleeding out. When he asked if she was with him, her embrace tightened up even more. ”Together.” She didn’t need an elaborate speech to communicate her intent. One word was enough to say far more. She didn’t hold his past against him, and she was willing to accept a life of being targeted by religious fanatics. Honestly, it was just adding one more group to the list of people that would rather she was dead. Not exactly something she was unfamiliar with herself. Above all though, that word had said that she would be by his side. With the broad vision of the future settled, Jason went for the expected route when it came to making up for the attack. He leaned in for a kiss, and Razia allowed it. More than allowed it really, she relished it. Before, she had been seeking naught but physical pleasure. This time, she was driven by passion. Her body burned with desire, and it showed. It wasn’t neat, or even controlled. This kiss was the kind that happened in the heat of a moment: sloppy, and driven by pure lust. All that made her stop was a lack of air. As she caught her breath, she looked into his eyes and knew that everything was going to be okay. With no regrets, as soon as she had lungs full of oxygen again, she dove back in for more. Oh how she wanted him… but her body reminded her of more pressing matters. Once more she broke off the kiss after a sharp pain in her gut reminded her of both their needs for medical attention. ”That’ll hold me over until we’re patched up… but don’t think you’re off the hook yet.” At that point, there was no trace of anger left in her words. Every ounce of her being wanted to just rip his shirt off and take him right there. It showed in her voice, which was filled with carnal longing. Somehow, she controlled it, and brought up the thing that both of them would surely rather forget. ”For now… let’s go get these wounds taken care of. It’ll be a bit more fun with all the blood still inside us I think.” ((Requip CD: 3/3)) |

Jason smiled weakly, the more time he spent with Razia the more he felt for her. She seemed not to mind the whole church thing, and decided they'd go about it together. Jason enjoyed the kiss they had shared, but they did really need to go to the hospital. Jason figured he wouldn't be able to lean on Razia to much, even without the height difference she was also injured. "Next time we go on a date I promise I'll make sure there aren't any assassins hanging around" Jason joked as he made his way back towards the city. He was playing down just how bad his pain was quite a bit. He felt light headed and had to keep blinking spots out of his eyes with every step. He was still losing blood at a ridiculous rate. Jason limped as fast as he could, he needed to get to the hospital before he passed out. "You know Razia.... we make a good team" Jason commented blatantly. Razia wasn't part of a guild, at least Jason didn't think she was. Which meant that he could try and get her to join Blue Pegasus, but he doubted he could. That women was way to fierce for a pacifist guild like Blue Pegasus. But then again, Jason had joined it.... But that was only because at the time he was trying to avoid violence. Jason had thought about his place in the guild, and considering his tendency to murder his opposition he really didn't think he belonged there. Jason figured he'd be a better fit at Quarto Cerberus, but he didn't want to go back to being a mercenary. He would move to Fairy tail but..... he really hated Fairy tail. Jason just grunted. He had friends in Blue pegasus, and was only excused for his actions because most of them were in self defence. Still, he really wasn't a pacifist at all. Sure Jason would rather not fight, but he didn't shy away from combat or detest violence. "So Razia, any plans for what guild you'll join? I'm not gonna pressure you but it'd be nice having you around in Blue Pegasus" Jason paused then continued. "It'd be nice just having you around" Jason didn't want to admit it, but Razia was one of his only friends. Well was she even a friends? Were they more than that at this point? It didn't matter she was somebody Jason got along with and could talk to normally. Her and Jaxus were the only ones he could do that with. Jason had never been so relieved to see a hospital. He limped through the door, and was immediately sent to the ER. He didn't want to be away from Razia, but he didn't have much of a choice. They began to work on his injuries, casting their fancy healing magic and sealing his wound while replacing his blood. He'd be back to normal in no time.... |

As they walked towards the hospital, Jason had a question on his mind. It was one that Razia had honestly been expecting. It wasn’t often that you could fight alongside a guy, make out with him, and get away without a guild membership being offered. For a few moments, she was silent. Joining a guild was a big choice, and she wasn’t sure that Blue Pegasus was the right fit for her. Barring Jason, they were a guild of pacifists. She wasn’t one of those at all. If there were two words that you could use to describe Razia, good choices would be fighter and scholar. One of those was very much incompatible with Blue Pegasus’ ideals, and the other was neutral. Fighter probably fit best with Fairy Tail, but she had never really been that impressed by the Magnolian Guild. She’d had to take care of some small fry in their back yard. If you couldn’t even keep your own house in order, how were you supposed to be considered a dominant guild? The other main option was Lamia Scale. They were the guild of scholars and researchers, but they didn’t shy away from a fight either. That was the place that made the most sense to her. Though it was tricky to find the exact words she wanted to use, the exquip mage managed to convey those feelings to Jason. ”I’m flattered, but I don’t think Blue Pegasus is the place for me. The guild is generally against the kind of things we just got ourselves into last I checked, but that was just another day in my life. Violence tends to follow me, and I can’t join a guild that will look down on me for trying to improve the world in whatever way I can. Right now, my goal is to join Lamia Scale. They don’t mind a fight, and they have some of the brightest minds in Fiore. I can’t think of a better match.” It was a bit of a struggle getting there, but they eventually managed to make it to the hospital. Jason was in worse shape, so he was treated first, but there wasn’t anyone else in worse shape than either of them. Razia was next in line, and as soon as a second team was ready, she went in for healing. Her wounds were bad, but only by normal standards. With the aid of healing magic, she was fine relatively quickly. It was just a matter of draining a little blood that had pooled up, replacing that, and closing a few holes. Nothing too bad, but she did have to ditch the chest plate and cloak to give them easy access to finish patching her up. Dressed naught but the boots, pants, and a sports bra, Razia made her way out of her room and over towards where they had taken Jason. Someone was yelling something about putting a shirt on… or paperwork, or payment, or something. Maybe it was multiple people. The exquip mage ignored all of them. Eventually, she found Jason’s room, and went straight in without asking. Thankfully, they had finished patching him up as well. A sigh of relief escaped her when she saw that he was in good shape, but she went straight to his side regardless. ”As much as I’m glad to see you in one piece, I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t leave you with any badass scars.” Their ordeal was over, for now, and she was back to her usual playful self. |

Jason sat up, his wounds were healed, his blood was replaced, but his clothes were still ruined. His pants were stained red, and so was his sock. His shirt was dirty and torn, exposing his scarred arm. A burn scar, similar to the one on his chest, covered the whole of his fore arm. Razia walked in, and was quick to come to his bedside. She started the conversation with a joke, good to see she was feeling better. "The last thing I need are more scars" Jason responded, showing off his forearm. Most of the time Jason was magically healed, but his healers weren't as good as the ones at the hospital, they almost always left scars. Jason had a bunch of scars, some from fire, other from blades and very painful magical encounters with certain mages. Jason hopped out of bed, he was ready to go home. "You'd take back that sentence if you saw me without a shirt on.... let's get back to my place and I'll show you my situation..." It was obvious what Jason was proposing. He really hoped she accepted his offer, it'd be the perfect end to an otherwise hectic night. "Anyway let's go find out how much this'll cost us...." Jason walked out of his room and towards the front counter. Where he exchanged words with the receptionist. 20mil jewel, that's how much both of their treatments cost. Apparently because they were walk ins and weren't scheduled it added some kind of extra expense. "Well shit, I might actually have to start taking guild jobs again..." Jason sighed. He wasn't to worried about the bill, he definitely wasn't going to ask Razia for financial help. He told the receptionist to bill his bar, and got ready to leave. "I don't know if I told you this, but I have a friend who lives with me. She's a slug, I've known her since my days at the church.... so uh don't be surprised if she is waiting for us when we get back to my place" Jason figured he'd warn Razia just incase they did run into Hibiki. Jason wasn't to worried about how Hibiki would react, she'd probably just yell at him for staying out to late and ask him about the girl he had with him. Hibiki usually slept on the bottom floor, she said Jason snored to loud for her to be up there. But Jason knew it was because she didn't want to get between him and his one night stands, which he really hoped she didn't mention in front of Razia. Usually Jason only talked to girls to get into their pants, but his relationship with Razia was different. He actually enjoyed being around her, and wanted to spend time getting to know the blonde haired ex quip mage. Jason didn't really know what love felt like, at least not love for a girl. He loved a lot of things, he loved his friends and Hibiki, but he loved them like they were family. He had never loved somebody in that kind of way.... but hey, there was a first for everything right? |

Oh man was Jason implying something. Lucky for him, Razia was already on board. She looked down at her outfit, or lack thereof, and couldn’t help but grin at Jason. ”You think I’m dressed nice enough for the occasion?” She knew exactly what he had in mind, and she knew that her outfit wouldn’t matter. She just felt like being a smartass. If Jason wanted to be with her, he’d just have to live with that part of her. It was far too much fun to even consider giving it up. That said, Razia wasn’t exactly the type to care about modesty. She generally thought of herself as just one of the guys, so walking about without a shirt on like this wasn’t a big deal for her, even if she was in public. That was why she could laugh about it so easily. Eager to get back to his place, they headed to the counter and got the bill. The exquip mage’s eyes went wide when she heard the figure, and that Jason had it covered. ”Man… they really send you through the ringer outside of the capital. But, on the bright side, the jobs will be a bit easier with another person around I figure. Even if I’m not ending up in Blue Pegasus, I can still smack a bad guy with the best of ‘em.” As they got ready to leave, Jason had a bit of a warning about a housemate. Razia didn’t mind that he had someone else living with him, and totally didn't understand that it was just a pet. If anything, if just gave her a chance to show just how “open” she was. ”No big if someone else lives there, even if she is a bit lazy. Only thing I really need to know there is whether or not we’re planning on having three people in bed, or just us.” Didn’t matter what type of pitcher she was up against, Razia swung whatever way the situation called for if they were her type. Hopefully that didn’t bother Jason. For most guys, it was a big plus that she was okay with girls as well, but you never really know how someone’s going to react until you tell them. Regardless of how Jason reacted, and regardless of what all had happened, it had been a pretty damn good day overall. She’d read a good book, pushed herself to the limit in combat, and met a hell of a man. It was pretty hard to be upset with whatever his answer was on a day like that. Either way, she latched onto his arm on the walk home. The pain from her wound was gone, but the walk itself was a different kind of pain. She wanted him, badly. Every moment in public was another that she couldn’t full her desires. They owed each other their lives after that fight, and somehow, she’d found herself falling for him head over heels. Their kisses earlier had been just an appetizer. "You still owe me for dealing with all those assassins too ya know." She couldn't wait to see how he paid her back. |

Jason almost had to do a spit take. What did she just say? Jason gave her a sideways look, his eyebrows almost came off of his face. Did she just agree to a three way? No wait take it a step back, did she think Hibiki was a human? Jason coughed, the stopped in his tracks. "While I think it's cool that you are willing to try that out, I'm not that kind of guy. I'd rather it be just us two, and uh Hibiki is literally a slug, like the animal... She's a magical being that can talk and stuff, not just a lazy person" Jason really hoped he had gotten the message across. Jason didn't mind that fact that Razia played both ways, he just wasn't sure about having a three way while in a relationship. Which was what they had right? Jason thought it'd be best to ask before getting attached. "Speaking of which, we are uh... a couple now right?" Neither of them had asked the other out, but it felt like they were. It was kind of crazy tho, they had just met earlier that day and yet here they were, walking down the street like lovers. Jason really hoped Razia would say yes, else things would be a bit awkward. After awhile they finally made it back to Jason's home, which happened to be his bar. Jason took a key out of his pockets and unlocked the door, then opened it. He held it open long enough for Razia to step inside, and made his way towards the steps. Jason was trying to be as quiet as possible, he didn't want to wake Hibiki. Sadly she was already awake. "You're back, and with a girl to. I'll leave you two alone then... just don't make to much noise" Hibiki was surprisingly understanding. Jason just nodded, and Hibiki slinked back to her room. Jason led Razia up the steps and into the bed room. It was definitely going to be a good night...... |
