Jackpot. Razia was far from spoiled. She rarely got what she wanted, but today was different. In that moment, she had everything she could have wished for. A damn fine man, mage, and kisser, all wrapped up in the embrace of her suggestions. Were the moment not filled with mutual pleasure, she probably would have felt a bit manipulative. You couldn’t really call it manipulation if everyone was doing exactly what they wanted though, now could you? Then he pulled back, and opened his mouth. "Wow… You kiss as good as you look" The confidence that burned in her eyes spread down a few inches as her mouth formed into a knowing smirk. ”Not every day you get to have so much fun at work, is it?” For her, the feeling was a bit different than what she saw in his eyes. It wasn’t love at first sight. Not for her. It was attraction. Pure and carnal. She wanted to do unspeakable things to him and with him, but for her, love was a fickle creature. Emotional bonds were things that took time to form with her. Now, just because she was liberal with her body, didn’t mean she was just slutting around either. Jason was attractive both physically and as a person. Razia was definitely interested in getting to know him better on several levels, but like her thinking it might be love, getting to know him would take time. And besides, this was neither the time nor the place for that. She finished her drink, stood, and placed a quick peck on Jason’s cheek. ”Swing out by the center or town once you close up. It doesn’t look like your customers appreciate the show we’re offering.” For her, this was an important moment in determining whether or not Jason would actually hold her interest for more than a fleeting moment. How would he respond to this? Would he kick out all the customers and lock up then and there just for a bit of privacy, or would he take the more responsible route for his business and agree to meet up with her later? In her eyes, relationships were about power. Thus far, she felt like she’d had power over him. Did she have enough power to get him to hold off on the pleasure a bit longer, or would he surprise her? She couldn’t wait to see what his decision was. Either path had its benefits, and his standing in her eyes would come down to how he went down whichever path he chose. |

Jason smiled. She was right, he'd never had this much fun at work. Most of the time his work days ended with him giving somebody an ass whopping. Jason looked outside, it wasn't anywhere near closing time. Jason grit his teeth, not because he was mad at her for making him wait, but because he'd been stupid enough to not wait. "You kidding me? I never get to have this much fun" Jason said jokingly. The light mage was beside himself. He wanted to shut everything down, just to be alone with that women. Jason wasn't the type to fall in love so easily, so why with this women? A woman who was no more than another customer to him a few minutes ago. Jason was mistaken, he wasn't in love. Jason was just searching for a meaningful relationship, the only real friend he had was Jaxus, and that guy was awkward as hell. Jason wanted a relationship that didn't rely on his ability to lie and hide his emotions, he didn't want just another girl to flirt with. Razia was the perfect fit for him, she had a commanding personality and had taken the initiative, before Jason had even gotten the chance to. Jason was used to lying, and putting on fake emotions to fit into society, but he generally enjoyed being around this women. She had a personality that went well with Jason's, she also wasn't just another girly girl who needed a man to do everything for her. Jason hated girls who acted like that, he hated girls who acted like they were helpless and needed him to do everything. His thoughts were interrupted by a kiss, but this time it was on his cheek. Razia told him to meet her in town center after he closed up, that wouldn't be for awhile. Jason was many things, but his business usually came first, and as much as he hated the idea of leaving Razia's presence he needed to run his bar. "I won't be done any time soon, sure you won't get lonely?" Jason asked as if he was genuinely concerned, but pretty much anybody would be able to tell he was joking. Jason gave her one last smile, then he let go of her hands."See you then...." Jason stared at her, this time his eyes had a joyful look in them, something not many people got to see. But Razia wasn't many people..... |

A smile was met by another. It seemed that both were quite happy, even if they had agreed to postpone pleasure until later. Jason warned, albeit jokingly, that it would be awhile before he could close up. That was good. It showed that he was as mature as Razia hoped he had been. He understood that he had a business to run, and that it needed to come before some woman he had just met. Well, it was either that, or he already knew better than to try arguing with this exquip mage. Either way, he had passed with flying colors. ”I don’t know how I’ll manage without you for so long.” His joking question was returned an obviously sarcastic retort. She looked forward to seeing him again, sure, but it was high time she dialed back how easy she was acting. A little bit of feigned disinterest tended to do crazy things to a guy’s mind. It was more than that though. She also wanted it to be clear that she was her own person, and didn’t float around on anyone’s whims. If Jason wanted to her his, it was gonna take a lot more than a free drink and a kiss or two. Even then, if he got that far, they would be equals, not master and slave. Regardless of what her thoughts were on those matters, it was time for her to get going. She headed for the door, and offered a few last words before she departed. ”Thanks for the drink.” She did have to mind her manners after all. As she headed out the door, her dagger on the bar vanished from sight as it was swallowed back up by the void. There were several hours before the bar was set to close down, but Razia had no problem filling them. She found a public washhouse and got herself cleaned up from the long journey she’d had to get here. Gotta be nice and clean in case you get lucky right? Her usual outfit, once washed, was good enough though. Anything fancy was a second date kinda thing at best with her. There was still plenty of time to spare, so she popped into a local shop and bought a book. With yet another tome on magic added to her collection, she headed off to the center of town. It was a beautiful location. Flowers everywhere the eye could see. An expertly sculpted fountain in the middle, and a handful of benches for anyone who needed to take a seat. Honestly, the place looked like it belonged in a park, rather than the center of a bustling city. Razia found a seat on one of the benches, flipped open her book, and dove into it. You could say she was waiting, but given how engrossed she got in the minutia of exquip theory, she was good for many hours to come. |

Jason watched the exquip mage leave, he watched her until she was out of sight. Jason turned around excited for things to come. The rest of the day was a blur, nothing could possibly distract him from the thought of meeting Razia again. Jason's day was easy, customers came and went. Jason took orders, cooked meals, and poured drinks for anybody who asked for one. Time flew, the afternoon sky was painted orange and purple. Jason normally would stay open late into the night, but he figured it'd be better for him not to fight the nightly drunks today. Instead he closed up shop shortly after the 5pm rush, and made his way down to the town center. Jason had pretty much seen everything there was to see in Poinsettia, he'd walked through town center countless times and yet.... This time something was different. Few people lingered around here after dark. Ever since the inquisition people made it a habit to get home rather quickly to avoid any magic fights that may go down. Jason didn't have fond memories of the inquisition. Most of the memories he did have consisted mostly of pain and near death experiences. But then again pretty much all of Jason's memories were violent ones. Jason saw the women he was looking for immediately. She was sitting by the fountain reading a book. Jason approached her silently, the same way he would normally approach somebody he was going to kill. "I could start with a cheesy line about how the sky pales in comparison to your beauty, but....." Jason made his entrance, standing in front of her. He was lax, his arms were tucked into his pockets. Jason had wiggled out of his normal uniform, removing the vest and bow tie. So now all he wore was an oxford shirt and black slacks. His collar was unbuttoned, exposing his collar bones. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, exposing his forearms. His shirt was untucked, and generally looked sloppy for somebody that was usually well dressed. Jason figured Razia wouldn't mind his appearance, it was what he usually sported any way. "I think we're past basic things like that" |

How time flew when you had a good book. Before she knew it, the book was halfway done, and Jason had appeared before her with another cheesy line. She looked up from the book and saw he was a bit… disheveled compared to before. The look suited him. It wasn’t that being all neat and proper didn’t look good on him, but the more carefree style that came after putting in a hard day’s work, that was something Razia had taken a quick liking to. His cheesy lines though, even if they were in jest, those were something she needed to make a point about. ”You could use a line like that…” she started. One hand set her book down on the left, while the other motioned Jason over to the empty seat on her right. It was only once he had come over beside her that she was willing to finish the sentence. ”But we both know that wouldn’t get you anywhere.” Before she had even realized what she was doing, her hand had snaked around his neck, while her lips met his once more. Damn… that cheesy line had worked again hadn’t it? No, she wanted this, canned flirt or not. It was only once she was satisfied that she knew every contour of his lips that she pulled her lips off his. They were in public, but there was no audience this time. She intended to enjoy this as much as she wanted. Her body nestled into his side, treating him like a giant pillow. ”So, how was work?” Smalltalk. Normally, she wasn’t the type for it, but she was genuinely interested in how his day had gone. Something about him kept her interested, and she actually wanted to know about the details of his day. Of course, she gave him an easy out for this one nonetheless. ”Meet anyone new maybe?” A suppressed chuckle escaped her with that one. It was too easy of a setup to not use it. If he had anything interesting actually happen, he could talk about that. If it had been boring though, well he had an easy out by talking about her of course. Either way, she wanted actual conversation, not just one-liners from him. Would he deliver? |

Razia looked up at him, her golden eyes seemed to see right through his mask. Her eyes seemed to be able to see the real Jason, but who was the real Jason? The one who killed for a living, or the Blue pegasus mage that was on a date with Razia. Either way she could see him for who he was, which scared Jason. but his fear was overwhelmed by a slew of emotions that he felt for the women who was sitting in front of him. Jason just pushed that thought aside and plopped down next to her. Jason didn't even get a chance to respond, he was stopped by a welcoming kiss. Jason was into it. He got to kiss her once again, and he wasn't gonna pull away this time. Jason was just a little disappointed when Razia decided to cut their make out session short, but he was content with being in her presence. Jason wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she began to use him as a pillow. "Work? Gah the one day I don't get into a fight with one of the local drunks and you ask me about my work day?" Jason was smiling wildly. Something about this girl made him kiddy. He was obviously joking with her, all thought some may have mistaken it as anger. "But I do have a good story to tell you, if you'd be willing to listen?" Jason spoke softly, turning his head to look at the women who was laying on him. "Long ago, back before I was a part of the Blue pegasus guild, I was a...." Jason paused, what was he doing? Jason knew the church was always watching, if he told anybody they'd probably come right out and kill him as well as everybody he knew. Jason decided he'd better not risk it yet, he didn't feel particularly confident about taking on the church. "Never mind about me, let's talk about the interesting girl I met at work today" Jason said in response to Razia's question. he hugged her, using the arm he had around her shoulder to bring her closer. "Anything I should know about you? You know before I kiss you again?" Jason asked only half joking. He really did want to kiss Razia, he wanted to kiss her really really bad. But that would have to wait, he wanted to talk to the girl first, get to know her. Jason was usually the guy who flirted solely for the purpose of getting into a girls pants, but he didn't want that from Razia. OK. He did want that, but he also wanted to get to know her. Jason waited for her response, hoping he wasn't intruding. |

Another smile returned Jason’s as he joked about work. ”Oooh. You must be pretty strong if you fend off the drunken hordes every day.” A joke met with a joke. It was only fair. Though, joke or not, Razia’s left hand had reached over and made itself busy tracing Jason’s chest. It wasn’t too hard to feel that he was strong enough to fend off a couple of drunks. Her hand wandered past the lowest rib as it outlined each of his abs in turn. Even through a shirt, she could tell he probably had a good six pack if he flexed, but he wasn’t so musclebound that he looked like a sculpture. His voice pulled her back into reality a bit with the offer of a story. ”Oh, do tell.” Though Razia was far from a kid, she enjoyed a good story all the same. She did spend a good chunk of her free time reading after all. He was going to talk about his past apparently. That could be interesting enough. Obviously he hadn’t run a bar his entire life, and she did wonder what he’d done before then. Much to her annoyance, he cut his story short. She looked up at him, and she saw the look in his eyes. Something about his past bothered him, and made him bite his tongue. While Razia wished he would open up a bit more, she understood that some demons were better left in the closet. Instead, the topic shifted to Razia. That worked. She wasn’t one to shy away from talking about herself… or the other thing that Jason had inquired about. Her head rose up and she placed a kiss on his ear before she busted out the sultriest voice she could muster. ”Only that I don’t take kindly to being teased.” It was a double entendre if there ever was one. The more serious meaning being that she didn’t appreciate him stopping his story short. As for the other meaning? She changed the angle she was at just enough so that they were lined up, and gave him what he wanted. Once again, their lips met, but this time was painfully brief. ”If you want anything more, you better pay down the debt you owe me for the story.” Though the earlier sentence’s subtlety might have been enough in some women’s eyes, Razia knew better than that. She knew that guys usually needed to be told things really bluntly or they would miss it. ”Buuuut, I’ll tell you a bit of mine nonetheless. I’m from Crocus, born n raised. Never really knew my dad. Mom died when I was eight. I lived on the streets until I was an adult. Ran with the wrong crowd, did some stupid shit. The knights aren’t generally my number one fan, but I learned how to take care of myself. Nowadays, I’m trying to change the world for the better, bit by bit, so no other kid has to deal with what I did. So now you know what kind of person I am I guess. Some think I’m a sinner, others think I’m a saint. Never been super religious, but there was a line that always stuck with me. ‘Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.’ I figure I can manage at least that much, no matter what I did when I was younger, and no matter what anyone thinks of me.” Having talked about herself quite a bit, she gave Jason a moment to process all she had said. It had been quite a mouthful after all. Maybe though, after that, he’d understand her a bit better. By that point, she’d dropped any real pretense. One hand pulled on her shirt, tightening it up against her chest and exposing a bit of cleavage, on purpose of course. ”Whatever you might think of my past is yours to decide, but I don’t think any of that will matter by the time we reach your bedroom. You can make up for not telling me a story once we get there.” Yeah, she was done beating around the bush. Unless something showed up to distract them, or there was some unforeseeable reason that he didn’t take her up on that offer, she was going in for the kill. |

Doesn't like being teased? Jason snickered, so she did have a personality. Jason ran his fingers through her hair, he was enjoying their time together. She kissed him, then pulled back shortly after. For somebody who didn't like being teased, she sure did like to tease. Jason didn't mind, it just meant he got to kiss her more. "I think..." Jason said preparing to respond to her comment about her past. "Our pasts define us, but they aren't us. I don't care what you did in the past, I care about the person you are today..... and you are a great beautiful person" Jason moved in for the kiss. Oh how he wished he hadn't opened his big mouth. Assassins, mother fucking assassins. Jason wasn't even ready for them, he'd let his guard down. From what seemed to be out of no where multiple cloaked figures sprang from the shadows and towards the couple that was sitting on the bench. A shot rang out in the distance, the bullet sailed by Jason's head and hit the fountain, chipping the stone. Jason's mind went into overdrive, enemies from all directions, a sniper, things weren't looking good. The first one to reach them was wielding a sword. Jason didn't want to leave Razia, but he had to address the situation at hand. Jason leaped off the bench to confront the man. The assassin swung at Jason's stomach, a crisp and deadly swing, signs of a well trained warrior. Jason had fought many people since he had left the church but none had been able to match him when it came to technique, but these people just might be able to. Jason had no time to stop the sword, so he dodged. Jason leaped back onto the bench, hoping Razia was out of harms way. The black hooded swordsman recovered quickly, and stabbed at Jason's thigh. The light mage was trying his hardest not to get cut by that damned sword. Jason moved backwards into the fountain. The swordsman followed him, jumping onto the bench and prepared to attack again. Jason threw a handful of water at the assassins eyes, then used the distraction as a chance to counterattack. He kicked the swordsman in the chest, knocking him off the bench and onto the floor. The assassin rolled backward onto his feet, just in time to be hit by Jason's kick. The assassin got back onto his feet, and sliced at Jason's leg. This time it hit, the sword cut through his pants and left a rather deep cut on his leg. Jason shouted in defiance, and fell to one knee. He punched the man in the head, then lunged at him, pinning him to the ground. Jason ripped the sword from the mans grip and stabbed it into the mans chest. Jason rolled off of his now dead enemy, and tried to his hardest to stand up. "RAZIA" Jason shouted, hoping she was still alive. Another assassin charged him, but this time Jason was ready. He ripped the sword out of his victims chest, and sliced vertically up the mans body. Jason limped as fast as he could, his worst fears had come true. The church had decided to attack just because he had thought about telling Razia about them, he had definitely screwed up. Jason could count two enemies in the immediate vicinity, he knew there was a sniper, but he did not know the full extent of their abilities. At least they hadn't decided to use magic yet right? |

There was one other person out in the square that day that could match Jason in technique, even if not in raw strength. Razia was an exquip mage, and you had to be pretty dang handy with a weapon to even consider learning that magic. What good was it to learn how to change your weapons and armor around if you didn’t know how to use any of them? Only a few hours ago, their eyes had met and he’d seen the determination that burned in her soul. She was a fighter, and she didn’t need him worrying about her against foes of this caliber. As soon as the first shot went wide, her magic activated subconsciously. A green cloak covered most of her body in an instant. As she dashed towards one of the enemies, the armor and weapons beneath that cloak slipped into view. A breastplate covered most of her chest, but it left her shoulders and a bit of midriff exposed. The only protection on her arms was a pair of bracers, but her legs were covered but full length leather pants and boots. Not enough to stop everything, but it was good enough against weak weapons. Then there were the items in her hands. Her left held a kite shield large enough to ward away most any attack while her right held a fairly plain longsword. She didn’t waste any time. One assassin charged right at her, but he hadn’t seen the shield beneath her cloak. His blade was harmlessly turned aside, and Razia’s slid between his ribs, straight into his heart. With a wound like that, death was instantaneous. She wouldn’t get the element of surprise with the shield twice, but that was one bad guy down right away. A quick glance was spared over to see how Jason was doing. Looked like he had one down as well, but had taken a wound. He called her name, but she was less sentimental in the midst of battle. ”Worry about yourself dammit!” He was the one that had taken a wound already, and it was probably because he was paying attention to her. If nothing else, hopefully this encounter would teach him not to worry about her a bit. Okay, maybe she should reevaluate that part. A second assassin had come at her, and this one was more skilled than the first. It looks like they’d sent the rookie at her first. Figures. They were apparently after Jason, so it made sense that they didn’t know to consider her a threat. Razia traded blows with the second assassin for a moment before both realized they were evenly matched. It only took a couple of blocked swings for both to realize no progress was being made by either of them. Given the lack of backup that this assassin was left with, he opted for a bit of crowd control. ”Steel make cage!’ With those words, metal bars formed all around Razia, even above her. She was trapped. A sitting duck for the sniper and assassin both. That was what they thought at least. The sniper opened fire at her, hoping for an easy shot. The exquip mage didn’t let him have her easily though. Her shield stopped the bullet, but only barely. His gun was pretty damn good. The same spot wouldn’t be able to stop a second bullet, but there was still a few more blocks left in that shield. ”Get the sniper. I’ve got this one.” It was time for her to place her faith in Jason. The other assassin had gone around to the side. She couldn’t defend herself from both angles at once. Jason needed to take one down for her. Given that she was actually within striking range of the steel make mage, she’d rather try her luck there. Confident that the light mage had her covered, she turned to fight the steel maker. It was a good thing she did quickly too, as he was preparing another spell. ”Steel make hundred lances!” It must have been some kind of finishing move, because it was taking a moment to charge up. That was his downfall. Razia was in a cage, but the bars were only tight enough to stop a person, not a blade. Her longsword darted out of her grasp, and flew straight into the assassin’s face just before he could finish preparing his spell. That was two down. In the absence of its creator, the cage holding her hostage shattered. With any luck, Jason would have dealt with the sniper by now, and he could explain what the fuck had just happened. Jason grit his teeth. His thigh hurt like hell, but he had to power through. The sniper fired off another round, this time it was aimed at Razia. She had responded to his shout, which took a burden off of his shoulders. Jason would be able to fight better without having to worry about another's life. He engaged in combat with another enemy, this one was unarmed. The guy threw a hard jab at Jason's head. Jason moved to the left, letting the fist sail right by his cheek. Jason hit the man twice in the side, a one two combo. The assassin swung at Jason's head once again, just to be blocked. Jason was hit in the gut, and responded with a headbutt that hit the guy in the nose. Jason through an uppercut, nailing the guy in the chin. The assassin stepped back a few feet, trying to avoid falling on his ass. Jason saw the opportunity and took it. A glowing rib cage surrounded him, and quickly sprouted arms. Jason had activated his Susano'o, and it lit up the surrounding area. The construct threw a hard punch at the assassin, nailing him in the chest. The assassin flew back into the flower field, it didn't look like he'd be getting back up anytime soon. The sniper fired off another shot, this time it was on point. The bullet hit Jason's Susano'o and bounced off harmlessly. But it wasn't for nothing. Jason had a general idea of where the sniper was hiding. "OI Razia" Jason shouted turning towards the sniper. "Get ready to see things differently" Jason muttered something under his breath, and his eyes started to glow. He cast the spell on his ally as well, if she didn't resist she'd be given enhanced sight, which would allow her to see through the dark more easily. Jason scanned the surrounding area, it wasn't to hard to find the mother fucker. Now that Jason could actually see, the black cloak against the bright colored flowers was obvious. Jason took aim, Susano'o formed completely, and arrow notched in it's bow. "Drop Dead" Jason's voice was brimming with excitement, it was the first time he had felt good in a fight. It was ridiculous, if anything he should be more desperate than ever, but he wasn't. Jason let the arrow fly, it streaked through the night like a lightning bolt, and hit it's target. The sniper was hit right in the back, the arrow exploded in the distance, eliminating the sniper and what ever flowers were around him. Jason's Susano'o turned back to it's original form, bones. Jason turned around quickly, he had to keep his head in the game. He smacked a sai wielding adversary out of his way, and half limped half sprinted towards Razia. He was so close to the women he had just made out with.... so damn close. Out of no where a ridiculously powerful blast of magical energy smacked the shit out of Jason, sending him sliding through the tulips. His Susano'o was still intact, but the rib cage was cracked. Another hit like that and it'd shatter apart. Jason stood up, and looked to see what had just hit him. A god damned wyvern. The thing was plated in green scales, and did not look happy at all. It's mouth was smoking with green magical residue. It roared at Jason. The thing had a chain around it's neck, and seemed to be controlled by a mage. Jason grunted and rolled his eyes, he got to add Wyvern to his ever growing list of things he'd killed. |
