IT was strange and almost unnerving how incredibly at home Tveda felt in the midst of this strange, strange district. By now having traveled all over the place, the run-down and almost septic environment was not something she'd expected herself to flourish in. For one, she hardly was the scrappy type, but something about looking like a walking corpse with pale skin, cloudy dead eyes, and a bone shank really put the muggers off. Perched on the edge of a rooftop, for once being able to climb as much as she damn well pleased without getting weird looks. Nay, it was fairly nice. An apple in the process of being eaten, watching as a little group of young ones scurried through the alley to head to the southern section of the sector. It was fascinating really, to see them forming little groups, and surviving in such a dangerous place. Scurrying in the wake of some of the gangs to pick up leftovers and the like. She shook her head, attention shifting back up to the sky. Funny how even in such a run-down place, that eternal blue still draped overhead. She smiled a little and laid back along the tiles of the roof, lounging for the time being. It wasn't as if there were any lack of jobs to be done either. Although alarming number of them were hits out on specific individuals, there were some......less unpleasant areas of the sector that were attempting to hold back the larger gangs and such, so it was entirely plausible she could give a group of thugs a good scaring. Strangely enough she was starting to ENJOY these odd jobs. |

“And stay out!” The owner of the small backstreet bar said as one of the larger bar staff heave hoed the young werewolf face first out into the street. It was a normal greeting for Daine now, he’d been everywhere so far and by now he’d gotten himself a bit of a reputation, he’d leave a tab open and skip town, but he’d always come back to pay stuff off when he could, but when he did they attempted to put interest on it, and interested wasn’t interesting to him. “Nice doing business with you.” Daine said, a little sour he hadn’t been able to finish his drink before they realised who he was but glad that they didn’t turn on him and try to tear him apart. “Same tie tomorrow?” the taunts flew off his tongue. “Maybe next time you can buy me dinner first before you throw me to the floor and screw me out of a drink.” But his taunts fell on deaf ears. By the time he had picked himself up the bar had returned to business as usual and Diane had nothing to do. “Sucks to be them.” He consoled himself placing his hands in his pockets and wandering into the maze of backstreets that made up a good portion of the city. It was easy to navigate around, place like these always seemed to be laid out in the same way, the only issue was trying to avoid any trouble, he liked causing it but never liked to be pushed into the middle of other peoples troubles. “Damn kids.” Daine said with a cheeky smile on his face, down one Side Street some children were playing a ball game, dead in the middle of where his sniffer was leading him, the place where the food smelt the nicest. “Oi, What are you playing?” the teen strolled over watching the game. The kids looked over pausing their game for a moment before continuing, one of the older kids, about 12 looked at him and laughed. “None of your business.” The kid snarled at him trying to assert his dominance, he’d seen this before but every time he couldn’t help put stick his nose in and mess things up. “Say, if I beat you.” Daine started, thinking of what he could make the kid do in return. “If I beat you, you have to go and egg the bar back there.” He said with a cheeky snicker, the kid was in for the bet. The game was easy, and Daine rocked at it, within two minutes of having the ball he’d won and was sending some minor off to do his dirty work, sitting down on the floor, he watched as the kid ran back with an equally cheeky look on his face, he’d done the deed and although Daine was a good 5 years older than the big group of kids, he’d earned some respect from them. “Know anywhere to get something to eat, or just pass time?” Daine asked, not sure of where to go from here. |

Tveda was quite surprised when she noticed a soft pat-pat noise. Glancing down at the streets below, she noticed a bar being egged, the little impacts of the bits of shell-clad hen-farts drawing her eye as the culprit of the act raced off with a big ole smile. Cheeky little thing indeed. She took a moment to glance down at the bar itself, one of the employees already getting to work to try and clean the mess. They didn't even seem all that angry. Perhaps it was something a little more common than one thought. Dropping down from the rooftop, she chose instead to follow the little scamp, her head canting to the side a little as she made her way after them. After but a few moments she managed to spot the destination of the little egg-thrower. It seemed he had been coerced into the act, and by a fairly roguish-looking character at that. She took a brief moment to scan the surroundings for a moment, and when she saw nothing that seemed overly ambushy, she put on a pleasant smile and approached the young man, those cloudy eyes all but shining as she lofted a hand in a brisk greeting. "Well hello there. Is this one yours?" She asked, of course she had a hunch the kid wasn't Dane's but it never hurt to ask. She smiled down to the little youngster, no doubt drawing some sort of stare, be it good or bad natured, before her attention shifted to the male. With her current attire of a mantle, her top was not so bared as it usually was, for the rag-like half-cloak wrapped about her shoulders hid her bandage-clad top well enough to not draw unwanted heathens her direction. Not to mention looking like you were poor was an additional deterrent to being mugged. Not that she had a buttload of jewel or equipment to steal anyway. "Name's Tveda bye the way. Somewhat new around here. Don't suppose you know a good place to wet the beak around here?" She ventured. Of course she hardly went to such places to drink, mainly it was a nice little hub to see the local muscle, be it belonging to the town guard (which she doubted this district had) or the local gangs, which was her current fixation. |

Daine was a little worried when the kid basically brought back someone else with him, but he’d handled these situations before. “He’s not mine but he’s with me right now.” Daine explained, the kid had kept his part of the bargain and was as shacked as Daine, he was too young to sell out so the werewolf stuck to his guns and got ready to start something if things turned towards that direction. “Why, what do you want with me?” He couldn’t help but ask, moving from his cross legged position to an almost crouch, ready to pounce on the girl if need be, he was young sure but Daine could pack a punch if need be, but generally he didn’t need to. “Oh.” He responded with the intrigue in bars, it was a shady question given what he sent the kid off to do, but at the same time it was an innocent enough question. “There’s one back in the direction you came from, but I wouldn’t recommend it.” He started, having to stop himself before he went into a full self-righteous speech about how that particular bar was crap and things along that line, so instead he quickly moved the topic onto something else. “If you want something in terms of tourism I’m sure there’ll be something about it near the centre of the city not that people come here for family holidays.” Daine explained from what he understood this city was as backwater a place as you could get, it was somewhere were the lower end of shady dealings were done, not a destination for young girls alone to look around. “But I’ll clue you in on something if you want to go off the beaten track, a few things for my time and a little more for bothering the kids.” He started, he wasn’t above taking an opportune job, it was what he lived off of, and plus he wanted to keep these kids on his side for a while, and money was always good for the memory. “A few coins each and I’ll show you to any bar you want within two miles if you pay for a drink and a good meal.” Now he was to just wait there and see if she’d accept the terms; as reasonable as they were for a guide in a city where people didn’t want to go. |

Brows lifted slightly in response to the man's first reply. She couldn't help but smile a little in response to it, her head shaking a little as she crossed her arms over her chest. So he was more than just a vandal. Stepping forward, she gave a soft tilting of her head as she leaned in to look the man in the eye. She wondered, to herself at the very least, what it was that made him this way. Did he need the money? Or was he simply one who partook in a more luxurious style of life than he could afford? It was quite the interesting little mental question. He wanted money not just for himself but for the boy as well. Which meant he was either generous as wall, or was simply planning to take the kid's cut as well. Alas these days one could never really tell which from a simple look. Even so, it was an enjoyable little game to play. Well, at least for her. "Hmmm, what a shame, and here I was hoping to get myself out of a little bust of my own." She sighed, smiling as she stood back up and shrugged her shoulders. "I got commissioned for this little job of shaking one of the local gangs. A nice pretty penny to get my own ass out of the red. But I suppose I can always just keep wandering around until I find what I'm looking for. Thanks a ton for your help though." She noted with a sly smirk in his direction before turning her back on the man and starting to walk away. |

Daine sat there thinking to himself, he didn’t want to get played but still it sounded exciting and he seemed to be moving more and more from his old profession of simply annoying people which had brought in a good amount of money and a load of fun to boot; but now he liked the raw excitement and the way this woman had phrased her job made it sound interesting, the cash would help too if she were to divvy it up. “Maybe.” Daine stretched out the words in thought, he had no idea what he could be getting himself into but that also made him want to try. “Maybe I could be of help.” Daine’s face lit up, no longer was this just someday where he got thrown out of a bar. “I’m good at finding things and the like.” He started bragging, tapping on his head. He was good at thinking like people plus a bloodhound nose didn’t do any harm for searching for people. Standing up he turned and grinned to the children who obviously saw that he was into whatever this girl was offering. “But If you do want my help, give something to the kids.” Daine finished, now he needed these guys more than ever. If the woman was searching for something in the city, more than likely the kids would have some info or could at least point the pair in the right direction. This girl’s main priority seemed to be the money, in which case he was sure she’d understand the importance of a good investment. “Hey! You!” A voice came from the end of the alley, it seemed like the bar owner from where Daine had been thrown out of had tracked the sound of the noise back to were it had come from obviously looking for who threw the stuff at his door. Even if they did have it often it was clear he was not complacent about it, in fact he was red with rage. “Oh yeah, that’s the riled up dude from the shit bar around the corner.” Daine explained, his cheeky smile extending towards the guy who blew and started his charge. Daine was a self-confessed pacific when he could be so instead of playing fisty cuffs, he went to the other end and pulled his coat off, letting the pull of a man charge at him, stepping to one side before he collided. As the man looked dazed and started to turn, Daine took hold of the woman’s arm and with a good degree of strength started pulling her away. “We can talk details on the way, but I’d rather not play with this guy. He’s not my type.” |

Tveda smiled as it became abundantly clear that he was interested. She suppressed the urge to chuckle as he worked around it, selling himself as quite the tracker when it came to sniffing people out. She folded her arms, leaning to the side and watching with amusement as he came around to offering his help on the condition that she spare some jewels for the kiddos. She looked down to the children themselves and nodded, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a handful of jewels. Probably a bit more than she aught to have, she wasn't particularly loaded, but well....they were kids. And as much as she hated kids, she hoped the money would help them out a little. Or something along those lines. It wasn't as if she card about hoarding a ton of cash anyway. In any case with the children with some nice padding to their wallets she turned her attention to the man before a sound caused her to turn, alerted to the arrival of a very displeased man. She was about to....deal with the intrusion when suddenly Daine grabbed her by the arm and began pulling her along. She was a bit surprised at first, given that he seemed to be a bit stronger than her, but she was hardly a weightlifter so she was not overly surprised. She took a glance over her shoulder at the angry man before simply running alongside him as the two of them promptly absconded from the infuriated man's presence. "I can't help but notice that you seem to attract some negative attention. You must be pretty popular." She noted with a little bit of cheek to it, as they went. In any case, she would begin steering their little run to the norther area of the sector, and once they stopped she would take a moment to catch her breath before brushing herself off, quickly composing herself as she would speak up once more. "Well, in any case, if you're so inclined to assist. The client is from some of the outskirts. One of the 'noble' families still hanging around the city. They've been trying to better the area.-" Which which she spoke with a roll of her eyes, showing that she had no actual belief in the claims of them having any positive effect on the area. Or rather her scepticism as to it's success even if they were. The sector was hardly in a state to be saved. "- But their actions have been disrupted by a gang calling themselves Los Locos. Apparently they've been attacking their family's messengers and even killed one of them during a mugging. They want the gang taught a lesson and, if possible, done away with completely." She explained, leaning against one of the buildings as she so explained. "So first order of business is to find out where the gang's general territory is, find out if they have a hideout, or if they don't have one: find a way to get all of them in the same place and then....dissuade them from the area." |

Daine was always a little surprised how the normal people of the world were so quick to having to take breaks, they hadn’t particularly gone too far but in any case he was now rather used to it. “I’m rather popular, yeah.” Daine said with a gleeful smile on his face, he was rather sure the woman hadn’t meant it exactly like a compliment, but he was going to take it that way anyway, it wasn’t too often people had positive things to say about him, so a little bending of the truth from time to time kept his ego bolstered. “Sounds interesting.” He continued, he’d never been one to believe people who wanted social justice, most of the time they had ulterior motives and if they had gotten to the point where they could speak up loud enough for other people to actually hear and pay attention, then it way likely they weren’t going to last too long bad mouth people or they had done a lot of underhanded things to get there and anyone stupid enough to follow where going to be axed unless they showed they were important, but here he wasn’t a middle man or even the other man, he was hired help for the other man and if anyone was going to be axed it wasn’t him. Tracking down rather mouth gangs wasn’t usually the hardest thing to do, usually it was easy enough to find where about they were, but their headquarters were another thing, most of the time it was for the tip top of their wanna be gangsta ranks and kept guarded. “Maybe we should head somewhere close to where this stuff is happening.” Daine said, the best way to find out was to attract a bit of unwanted attention, if they pressed where it hurt, it was likely people would run out and try an bludgeon them to death, if they could survive a bit more of that probing then they’d not only trim the ranks but they’d also find out where the head cahoone was; the perfect plan as long as this girl had a bit of wham in her punches, if not he wasn’t going to do all the heavy lifting. “Or do you want to be a little more discrete? Are you the tracker and you will get someone else to put the rat poison next to the hole?” The slimily was good in the scenario, he just hoped she understood how traumatic option A would be. As he started to tug at her once again after their little breather, this time towards the centre of town where they would likely be able to dig up something on where the different gangs were, or at least find if this loco gang had some tag they could look out for. It was going to be an interesting ride, he was up for it, and he just hoped the girl who had recruited him knew what she was getting herself in to. “Are you going to bribe knights for info?” he left hanging there, she didn’t seem morally obligated but he needed to make sure before he delved too deep in himself. |
