Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Selachi is, first and foremost, considerably tall for a woman, being all but Six feet in height. As such when first catching sight of her, this is often one of the first discernible things that come to mind. Of course, her form is not so wide as to be overly imposing, but even so a sense of slender height is inflicted upon those of normal height and stature.

Second, the more inhuman portions of her anatomy come to light when not concealed. Specifically the bone-like growth that occupies the space from just over the tip of her nose and across her face, to cover her lower face, neck, shoulders, covering the hands in claw-like coverings and stopping over the midsection of her bust. The material itself is white and calcific. Although typically concealed, this section of her anatomy is quite the intimidating mask, looking quite exoskeletal. The points of the teeth looking rather triangular and very finely serrated like those of a shark's.

So far as the rest of her, she is fairly human, and by many an opinion: fairly fair as well. With a swimmer's physique and hardly a thin nature, she is rather shapely and indeed attractive in contrast to her ghastly upper affliction. With dark skin and brilliant blonde hair, she has a very stark visual contrast to her that strikes the eye well; even her brilliant tourmaline eyes are framed with soft blonde lashes.

Needless to say, there are times when anyone with such....unique features would wish to escape attention to the more alarming traits one possesses. As such a number of her outfits (though certainly not all of them) feature a means of concealing Sela's bone-like growth. Her most common of garbs featuring this is a white, long-sleeved crop top which very precisely covers this section of her. Of course unless she is feeling particularly bold and showy she often has something else underneath this. Though for such occasions she also owns a rather showy hakama.

Though under normal circumstances she wears fairly normal clothing. Shirts, jackets, pants, shorts, ect. And at times she does not even bother dressing to conceal her fearsome visage. In such events she is most often found wearing a white jacket over a black undershirt, a set of black, baggy, belted cargo shorts completes the outfit. So far as footwear she typically prefers sandals.

She owns three small fastening beads with which she binds the longer lengths of hair she has into three thin tails. The beads themselves are small, about an inch in length and about 2 centimeters thick.
Additionally she has a set of black and white gloves which conceal her clawed hands.

Personality
Selachi carries herself in such a manner that one might consider somewhat stoic. She is not particularly talkative, though if one were to be more specific one could say that she 'chooses her words wisely'. She does not talk often overall, but in such situations that warrant it or when she is making a point she can be rather long-winded. She also has a rather calm, placid stare in her general interactions, often coming off as unamused or indifferent. Such is the manner of her expression that often people may surmise that (if aware of her unique anatomy) her facial covering restricts the muscle use on her face and dulls her ability to be expressive, though wether or not this is true remains to be seen.

While capable of being friendly, she does tend to watch those she meets very carefully. All of this behavior is, surprisingly to some, having nothing to do with her enigmacy. While she is aware of her peculiarity, it is what she has seen humans do to each other that has given her such a seemingly indifferent essence to her demeanor. She does not particularly believe in good or evil. The idea that actions will be judged by anyone other than fellow mortals that so become aware of them is silly to her and she does not believe in dharma. (Additionally, she is, at times, perturbed by the use of the word 'karma' in casual conversation as it is often misdefined as "a negative result of negative actions within the same lifetime" which is actually dharma, whereas kharma is defined as negative repercussion to actions performed in previous lives.)

Description:Sela's osseous growth spanning from the midsection of her face all the way to her mid-bust and hands, ending in clawed fingers. This covering is primarily protective and plated in such a manner so as not to restrict movement, the jaw section even opening in tandem with the movement of her mouth. The tips of the fingers and inside of the hand are slightly less smooth than the rest, giving her comparable gripping ability to normal hands.
Effect/Function:
Primarily protective, though secondarily her teeth can, under proper circumstances, also be used for bitey purposes. The hand section can also be used for scratching and stabbing.

Description:Onyx is lavish, jet-black cutlass. The blade is an inch and a half wide and a quarter of an inch thick. The blade reaches thirty inches in length and the handle itself extends six inches. The blade itself weighs one and a half pounds. The metal is very dull and never shined, ensuring that it does not catch any light, making it harder to spot than a normal sword.
Effect/Function: Cutting, parrying, blocking, and the like.

Description:These light, 5-inch knives feature 3-inch, serrated blades (2 inch handles). The blades themselves area milky, off-white, dull metal. The serrated nature of the blades cause jagged lacerations which promote bleeding. Knives are housed on the inside a series of two wristbands and a belt. The knives are held on the insides of the belt and bands for better concealment and subtle retrieval.

Fencing:Sela is a considerable fencer. Although she tends to prefer very mobile stances, she can typically hold her own against other weapons fighters and as per the style of fighting typically focuses on finesse and speed when using a blade.

Knife Thrower:Sela is trained in the art of knife-throwing such that she can reliably throw knives and other small, sharp objects. Contrary to popular belief, this also includes a considerable skill in distance and arching of shots as knives due to their weight have considerable drop to them relative to force exerted.

Smooth Criminal:Sela is very capable of remaining very still and fluid in her motions. Having very little in the ways of trembling or shaking, she has very steady and fluid movements, making her very capable with tasks involving balance.

Pincer Tactician: Rather than thinking several steps ahead, Sela thinks several steps at a time. In stead of fighting and generally conducting herself with long-term means (though she is certainly capable of such to a lesser extent), she tends to conduct herself in such a way as to accomplish as much as possible at once and as such she does have considerable skill in multi-tasking.

Magic Description:In time with other shark-like qualities, this Magic embodies the shark's adeptness and affinity with electricity, as per the Ampullae of Lorenzini, a unique organ found in sharks and in users of this magic which is used as a conduit to generate, sense, and manipulate electrical fields. The magic itself as opposed to typical outright offensive techniques has a versatility of use that instead utilizes electrical fields as opposed to directed currents and directional output.

As a result of their affinity to electrical fields and their body's conductive nature, the users often can, at will, create a Saint Elmo's Fire around their body, though the glow of plasma has no useful effect outside of dull light.
Specifically this magic is used as supplement to the user's capabilities, taking advantage of electrical fields to augment it's ability to hunt or fight. The magic is most iconic for it's sensory and area of effect techniques, the offensive spells are never targeted and tend to be undiscriminating.

Range: 5 meters
Effect: By generating a weak electrical field around themselves, the user can sense disruptions of this field by the weak fields generated by living things via muscle contraction (cardiac, smooth, and skeletal). While this does not typically improve the user's ability to navigate terrain, it does allow them to sense the presence and location of living things around them. While the range can grow rather vast, the accuracy with which targets can be discerned is still dictated by accuracy. Additionally it also picks up inorganic sources of electrical fields such as lightning and electrical lacrima and if powerful enough can disrupt her ability to sense individuals near them.

Trade of Lorenzini:Saint Elmo's Inferno - 1
Type: Offensive
Range: Personal/Melee (5 meters max)
Effect: By generating a strong electrical field around themselves, the user causes the air around them to ionize and create a plasma around themselves, and with the aid of their magic, generating a sort of glowing aura of plasma which leaves the user and their personal effects unscathed, but will damage those that come in contact with the user either directly or through a conductive bridge between the user and the target (metals, water, skin oils, ect.) The shroud of plasma itself does not normally extend more than a foot from the user. However when conducting through substances such as metal or water, the effects will only extend a maximum of 5 meters away from the user's body.

One. I don't see how this relates to you being a, what I am assuming is, a non-human race. Magic that non-humans get is always creature magic and this is elemental-lightning magic. You really just need to change the type and explain the connection between this magic and her race.

Two. The magic description is very vague in what it can do. Make it more...defined.

"Trade of Lorenzini: BioElectroperception - 1" does it work through walls and other physical obstructions? Do sources of electricity, like lighting or things like electrical lacrima, interfere with this?

That..seems to be every possible issue I can see.

er...depends? If by "the normal amount" you mean the normal amount swords reflect light then no. If you mean the normal amount of light most black objects reflect (which I assume is ensuring that the blade is not a perfect absorber and literally absorbs any and all light) then yes and I will specify....that, if necessary.

oh so it would be "Creature Magic - Lightning" ? I suppose that makes sense.....

And I presumed I was fairly clear about it her being non-human. Making mention of her qualities being shark-like and in her history she was classified by her adoptive father as a Selachis Squalidae which A, was to signify her inhumanity, and B, refers to Squalidae (a genus of shark derived from Squalus which is the latin word for shark.) and the Selachimorpha which is the superorder in which all sharks are categorized.
So far as how it's related to the animal, it is specifically related by the Ampullae of Lorenzini, one of THE iconic organ systems that make a shark so unique, as it grants them electroperception with such sensitivity that it is surmised that it is used to navigate by the incredibly subtle electrical fields produced by ocean currents, while at the same time allowing them to sense prey buried in sand or otherwise hidden from sight. (Which I also made into an ability). As such the magic is based upon interacting with, generating, and manipulating, electrical fields. Though I suppose I can try to be more specific if necessary?

For Electroperception yes it can go through solid objects as is the nature of the sense. Also yes it can be disrupted by artificial generation of electricity either magical or natural. For her lightning would be...well.. as loud and flashy for her electroperception as the light and sound is to normal people. lightning is pretty disruptive. And magical lightning from lacrima would likely be sensed and depending on the intensity of it would possibly make smaller charges around it less noticeable.

By normal amount I mean the amount of light a sword would normally reflect, beyond what everything reflects so we can see it. So long as it being hard to see is due to the dullness of the metal, and not you know, magic I will let that through. However don't rp it as if your sword is some sort of super hard to see light absorbing weapon.

Yes it would be. All non-human characters need creature magic.

Not everybody speaks latin nor is aware of the genus that sharks go under though. It is clever and I commend it but not everybody is aware of that. I wasn't after all. Her appearance is what it makes clear she isn't human.

Naming your magic after an organ in sharks isn't a strong enough connection to a non-human race. If you said the magic came from a shark organ she has located in her body then it would work. Not everyone knows the organs of sharks.

And yes do make what the magic can do more defined/specific.

Mention the effects other sources of lighting have on your technique as well as how it can detect targets through solid objects.
