Well. With your spell the duration would refer to the whole "lock in place" effect. |

・With rereading your tech and now better understanding what your locking means, I would be okay if the range is higher than what I had previously mentioned. Though, I still think your initial listed ranges are too high, so I am thinking perhaps: 10/15/20/30/40/55/70/85/100/120m (from rank 1 to 10) And cooldown as: 3/3/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2 posts (from rank 1 to 10) Or something along those lines due to the tech dealing damage as well as inflicting a locking effect. You can sacrifice range or sacrifice cooldown to better the other, but the range shouldn't be farther than the standard [Rank x 10] before rank 6 in this case (rank 3 or 4 is when things start becoming combat-viable). I only wrote those specific range numbers since scaling by 5, 10, 15, 20 in order looked nice, but if you want to write up similar ranges with a varying scaling, then we'll look at it and see if it's okay. ・For the duration thing, it depends. You would need to mention two durations: one for creating the 'double' and it running to swing its blade (thus dealing damage to whatever it hits), and then one for how long the locking ice will last for if it hits. A standard ranged technique is considered to have an Instant duration (or, 1 post duration) since it is created instantly (or, in that post) and the damage would apply instantly (or, before your next post) when it hits. Then, the ice crescent is created. As I am reading it, it sounds like the crescent will only be created if it hits? Whichever the case, the locking ice would then last for its own duration similar to the Icebolt example I previously mentioned. If the locking ice is created regardless of a hit or miss, then the cooldown will start when the locking ice disappears. However, if the locking ice is created only if it hits, and then it misses, then you can have cooldown start after the 'double' disappears. Here are some examples: Example One: Instant (1 post) duration for the double and damage, and 1 post duration for the locking ice if it hits. 2 post cooldown. Example Two: Instant (1 post) duration for the double and damage, and 2 post duration for the locking ice if it hits. 3 post cooldown, starting when the ice disappears or when the double disappears if it misses. Example Three: Instant (1 post) duration for the double and damage, and 2 post duration for the locking ice. 3 post cooldown, starting when the ice disappears. You can choose how long your ice will last for, though it'll most likely affect your cooldown. The longer your ice can last for, then most likely the longer your cooldown will be. It'll be easier to judge after it's written. Edited by Fumus, May 2 2015, 11:35 PM.

Correct. Cooldown generally starts after a technique's durations have ended. |

Given the cooldown is going to end up being...well much longer than I anticipated, I decided to just go all out with it and make the technique be one of her stronger big-hit type moves. Changd the range as you requested and jacked the cooldown up to 4 posts for all ranks, added a duration for the double and for the ice-lock as well as adding a second swing (double immediately vanishes if both swings are used up in the first post). If 4 isn't high enough of a cooldown let me know. |

Change where it says Range: 25 meters that is between 'Type' and 'Effect' to the new value, and I will be okay with this. Edit: where it says, Arctic Assault: Sweeping Tundra Buster - 2 Type: Offense Range: 25 meters ← Effect: Edited by Fumus, May 3 2015, 12:33 AM.
