It was an odd thing to happen to someone like Rayign, to be asked to give someone his assistance regarding some sort of animal problem. The man he had run into on the road was rather excited, thus causing Raygin to become excited as well, and explained to the traveling mage the problem his town was having. It seems that they were now experiencing some sort of animal problem, one that was directly affecting the villagers normal way of life. Well, that was something that the young man was just going to have to help fix now wasn't it? Plus, Raygin was told that if he was successful in driving off a large enough number of the pests then there would be a reward. An edible and delicious reward. Free dinners were the sort of thing that he could get behind. Following behind the middle aged man, Ray couldn't help but feel a bit reminiscent. Despite the fact the guy ahead of him was much older than his father, following after him still reminded him of the years he spent following after the giant that was his father. Thinking about him, it turned Rays pleasant mode into one of sadness. He was still not over his fathers apparent abandonment. Even though his father believed that it would have been best for Raygin to sort through life on his own at this point, the young man still felt he wasn't ready for such a responsibility. But...maybe this was a step in the right direction. Rounding the corner of a road, Raygin blinked. Tully Town, one of the oldest towns in all of Fiorre, came into view once the bend had been passed. Raygin noted the occupants, many of whom seemed to just be elderly citizens. Ray wondered just what, exactly, could be the animals that were bothering the towns people so much. "Welcome to Tully Town, then, now if you wouldn't mind waiting here I want you to meet someone. We asked another person to come and help us....let me go fetch them." His contractor explained, to which Raygin smiled and gave a nod. Leaning against the side of a house, putting his hands in his pockets, Raygin waited. Looking around for any sort of sign to the animal problem, he did notice a few things. Over turned containers, food in the streets, and a noticeable scent in the air. No, not old person stink....it was something closer to that of mud and...something else. Something familiar...but Ray just couldn't put his nose on it. Animals had definitely been here though, and they shouldn't be too hard to track down. |

She didn't understand why she was being asked to help at first, until she was told what the problem was. She'd actually had a bit of a hand in getting rid of these Mudmortskippers before. a type of fish that came up onto land and typically chewed the mortar of property. She was confident for once about the whole ordeal. She knew her skills weren't always the greatest, but being able to actually help out someone with their issues was kindof a nice idea! And the idea of not having fish was a good idea as well! After a while the taste did sortof sour a little. The idea of some free meals was just fine by her, especially if she got to eat it indoors. The travel was the easy part, and well, that confidence lasted the duration of it, all the way up until she actually arrived. And Saw what they were talking about. They weren't Mudmortskippers. They were MudmortskiTTers. She actually froze when she saw them, those big, hairy, spider-like things, her mouth hanging open as she was pulled along right next to a another individual who had, apparently been hired, shock clearly visible on her face. Even as they arrived, the little buggers just skittered up onto the rooftops. This was going to be terrible! She considered bowing out a little. What on earth was she going to do about these things! It was just ridiculous, the idea of trying to deal with these things. That is, until a tiny little hand prodded her. She turned and glanced down as she spotted a small child, holding up a tiny rock, polished and shiny. "Fank you fo hewping us!" The little girl squeaked up to her, handing her that tiny rock before turning and bolting away, covering their face shyly....and running straight into one of the houses. The little one teetered a little, but then smiled brightly and ran into the door right next to them, rubbing at the small bruise on their face. She stared, looking down at the tiny little offering in her hand. It was probably something the kid had picked up in the woods. Looking tot he window, she could already see them with their face pressed up against the glass. Crap....she couldn't refuse now. Looking to Raygn with those bland, dead eyes, she furrowed her brows, remaining silent for a moment as she reached up and thumped her chest with a determined expression, and then looked to the old man next to him. "Don't worry, we'll take care of this in no time!" She declared in a firm voice. Hot dayum she felt super cool. It might have even been a really cool moment if she wasn't actually shaking a little. SHE HATED SPIDERS! Looking over to Ray for a moment she gave a bit of a sheepish smile. "My name's Tveda. And uhhh....if you don't mind. Would you be ok with being the one to do all the uh...direct handling? those hairy legs kinda creep me out." She whispered sheepishly to him so the elders that retrieved the two of them wouldn't hear them. The one that had brough her specifically was smiling and chuckling to his colleague. "Ohoho, young people sure do fall in love quick don't they?" He chortled to himself as he watched Tveda whisper to Ray, getting completely the wrong idea. Thankfully unaware of the chuckling going on at her back, Tveda DID turn her attention to the problem. There didn't seem to be a very numerous, she had expected the town to be crawling with the buggers. But there was just one large group of them roving around it seemed. The creepy little cruds were skittering around in a pack, which while easy to find them, made it a little harder to actually deal with them. "We'll leave you two be. We'll be in the town hall with the others. I'm afraid we won't be much able to help you, the townsfolk have been asked to stay indoors if possible. And please, do help our town." The old man beseeched them before the pair of them hobbled off, leaving Tveda and dread alone. |

Oh. Those weren't any sort of boar, or raccoon, or lizard that Raygin figured he would have to deal with. He only noticed them as they skittered atop the roofs, vanishing from sight as they did so. So, it was spiders huh? And big ones at that if that brief glance was anything to go by. Those amber eyes of his fixed themselves onto the rooftops that he had seen the little buggers hide themselves atop of. Now, how was he going to handle this? Raygin ran a hand across his chin as he tried to come up with the best plan of action, but suddenly realized he wasn't actually alone now. He looked at the newly arrived...girl? Raygin guessed it was a girl since guys didn't have hair that long, nor soft facial features, but Raygin just wasn't sure considering the lack of lumps on her chest. A small child ended up giving her something before rushing back into her house, while the woman herself seemed to become inspired by the rock she had been given. He smiled when she turned his attention to him and giving her a "Hey there." right before she leaned in and whispered her request. She wanted him to handle the touching? The hairy legs were creepy? Now Raygin remembered something his dad told him about girls; they hated things like bugs and spiders. That confirmed it. This was a girl. Ray nodded to himself, pondering her request. "But, wait, if I'm the one who does all the work then you're not gonna get any of the reward. It's only fair if we BOTH put in an equal amount of effort that gets rid of the spiders." Ray explained. "Now then, let's come up with a way to get rid of them without actually hurtin them, alright? I mean, they're just animals. Somethin' in the town musta lured them in, like flies to poop. Maybe if we find whatever it is they're lookin' for, we can draw them outta the town!" Ray suggested, smiling with a huge dorky grin as he did so. This was probably his first time actually having a real conversation with a girl, and he was rather glad it was over this job instead of him just rambeling. "What say we get this job here done, alright? My names Raygin, by the way, it's nice to meet ya Tveda. I'll handle the legs for ya, if ya want, while you get the rumps!" Raygin turned his attention back the tops of the rooftops, wondering just what it was that the spiders wanted. "Lets see....spiders like to make webs in places that got openings so bugs can fly on in. But...those spiders were big that means they're needin big nets...I GOT IT! We just need to find the bigger bugs the spiders are eatin and get THEM out of the town and the spiders are sure to follow them out! I'm gonna go check the roofs to see if there are any big moths or crickets around!" Raygins mouth finally stopped just in time for him to job over to a drainage pipe running down a building and begin trying to climb up it. Damn, when did he become so weakened? Was it due to his body still recovering from eating the mold? Regardless, Ray had willpower so he was sure he could climb if he needed to hard enough. |

She was actually a little surprised, her head tilting a little as she looked at him. That's right....she'd almost forgotten. He didn't know she was a mage. Her head lowered slightly, her attention shifting to the rooftops as he himself explained his theory. It was a good plan, and a very sound one. It seemed like a good idea after all. Maybe something was attracting them. But she didn't think it'd be something like large insects. No, that wouldnt fit in with a town like this. If the townspeople had previous issues with large insects they woulda sent help beforehand. She looked around, rubbing her chin. Maybe it was something they were making? Ray was right, the source was probably something the spiders were perceiving as food. Maybe something sweet-smelling? What sorts of things attracted spiders? In any case she began to move as well, looking around to see if she could spot the spiders themselves. If they were after something, she just needed to pay attention to them, and see what it was they wanted. Actually...now that she thought about it. It was almost like fishing.... all she needed to do was find the right bait. If she treated this like they were fish, would that help¿ IT was certainly close enough. However..... her eyes flicked to Ray as he moved about, remaining silent as she made a decision. She would have to struggle and not use her magic. She couldn't let a guy like that...see the things she could do. If anything, he seemed nice. She couldn't ruin her image with her power. At least not like this. Just as the thought passed through her mind, she heard it. The skittering. Like ripples in the water, her attention snapped to the side as she spotted them, those dreadful looking things. She narrowed her eyes and immediately began to run after them. She briefly looked at Ray. She wasn't sure if he would follow them or keep looking for their food, but in any case, she had to go after those creepy.....brushing? HEr eyes went a little bit wide, looking down as she spotted one of the little things, crawling. Up. Her. Leg. She froze for only half of a second watching as it moved in and took a bite out of her shorts. Aaaaaaand she screamed. "Eiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Came that loud irritating sound, a loud ringing like one's head was filled with after an explosion. She'd learned the sound after a certain incident with a Emberfish that had been dropped into a barrel of fish oil. She always made that sound when she freaked out. The sheer volume of her ringing cry caused the spider to hiss and drop to the floor, flailing it's legs erratically as she immediately began swatting herself all over, hopping from foot to foot as she made sure no more were on her, before she flung her hand to the side in panic. Immediately, a fleshy arm erupted from the ground, a single stake going through it's arm as it slammed down over the spider, the spike of wood missing it entirely as it slid into the ground, trapping the spider in place as Tveda hyperventilated a little. Making that sound really took it out of her. |

"Okay...okay...I got this...just a bit more...HOOOMPH" He spoke to himself as he pulled himself atop the roof. With that out of the way he lay there for a second, catching his breath after that ordeal. Whatever had happened to him? He remembered times he climbed massive trees and cliffs with his father without the protective safety gear that modern man equipped themselves with, without any issues at all. So why was it now that he was feeling like he had no strength or stamina? It must have been the ordeal he went through the last year. The consumption of the fungus within the cave for an entire year, then the time following that to let his body rest, was most likely the reason for his decline in strength. Balancing himself atop the roof he began to move as well, lightly jogging as he scanned the nearby tops of other buildings trying to find the spiders. After all, they were about the size of a rat so they shouldn't be too hard to find. Right? Sudden movement below caught his attention as he spied Tveda suddenly begin to sprint down the road. "Oy, wait up!" Ray cried out, speeding up his own pace to try and keep up with her. But, running on roofs wasn't the best idea. A gap between two buildings rushed close to him and instead of stopping the hard headed mage simply jumped. His chest collided with the edge of the other building, making him "oomph" as he began to pull himself up. He didn't panic, nor did he feel fear. He wasn't afraid of heights or falling, considering his life style. But he made a mental note that maybe he was pushing himself too hard right now. But when he suddenly heard his female acquaintance scream...he pushed himself. He quickly pushed himself right up and began sprinting right away. He spotted her down below, skidding to a stop as he looked down at her. Panting, he let out a "Hey! Are ya aright down there? Did ya get bit? Did ya see 'em?" He then noticed the one spider near her that seemed to be unmoving. She was panting like crazy though, as he noticed, so it must have freaked her out quite a bit. He felt sorry for her, actually. Ray couldn't understand being afraid of animals, not so much that it would make him scream like a baby. He blinked a few times, unsure of what to really do or say...so he went with his gut instinct. "Hey, Tveda, if you aint' up to this it's fine ya' know. I can take it from here, really. I'll even say ya' helped. I mean...if you're that scared of 'em aint no reason to force yourself to do this, okay?" He called down, scratching the back of his head. If she was going to be too scared to do anything then it would be a problem. Letting out a slight groan he turned his attention away from the woman and began scanning the town once more. What would it be that lured these overgrown eight legged bugs from the forest? If it had been something like a boar or a bear it would have been so much easier. But spiders didn't listen to reason really. He was going to need to find the source of the problem and destroy it probably. But what, exactly, could it be? After all Ray hadn't seen any giant webs or other big bugs. Raising his nose to the air he began to take a few sniffs, trying to see if there were any particular and odd scents in the air. He could still pick up on that odd one from before though. He decided to try and follow it, see where it leads. But picking up on its path would be...hard. |

Tveda immediately rounded on Ray, indignantly flaring up as she turned her attention to him, irritably flaring her nostrils in response to his shout. "I'm FINE!" She hissed indignantly, looking around for a moment as she spotted the group of spiders skittering to...the edge of the town? She paused, that anger fading for a moment as she then realized. Of course, they would have to have a nest SOMEWHERE. But....a cave? why on earth would they nest there.... "I think I found something." She called out to her partner, making her way over to the entrance and giving it an up-and-down. It certainly seemed to be a deep cave, and fairly narrow as well. Those dead eyes fixing on the walls that seemed to be caked with webbing, all manner of little corpss of small critters showing here and there. But that made no sense. Why wouldn't they just put up webs in the town? And certainly if the nest had been here all along, wouldn't the townspeople have asked for help more? Loking along the walls, she realized that as she looked deeper, the webs got thicker. Older, more numerous. Reaching out past the webbing, and ignoring the sticky sensation, the walls of the cave were loose, disturbed, as if recently shifted. Was this tunnel new? Had the Townspeople been digging for something and unearthed the nest to these spider things by accident. Furrowing her brows she began to suspect that they hadn't been told the whole story to this. But why wouldn't they bring this up? Why would they be digging? More and more she was growing apprehensive about this. That skittish attitude fading as a far more serious look crossed her face as she realized that perhaps there was going to be a much harder aspect to this job than they might have anticipated. Oohh~ Did that mean the reward was going to be bigger too?~ She paused, immediately distracted as she daydreamed about what she might buy with reward money. She might actually be able to get herself something nice! Like a pet! Of course, it took the soft sound of skittering to bring her back to reality, those dead, clouded eyes shifting toward the depths of the cave beside her, tension once more settling into her muscle as she peered into the cave. Setting aside plans about what to do AFTER, she decided she would likely need to get Raygin. Best case scenario, they could just fin a way to collapse the cave and they'd be done. But of course the ruckus might draw more of them out, and they also would need to deal with whatever stragglers weren't in the nest. But there was also the matter of what it was that had unearthed them in the first place. It wouldn't do just to closed it back up if someone was just going to go digging again. They might need to have a talk with some of the villagers. |

He gave her a rather blank blink, not really sure what to make of her sudden outburst towards him. Though it had only been two words, Ray could feel the agitation and venom in that shout. Had he done something to anger her? In that moment she had actually reminded him of a rather angry turtle trying to bite at his fingers for pulling it from the mud. All he did was express some concern for her. He let out a sigh alongside a "Aye yi yi" as he shook his head, noticing that Tveda suddenly took off down the road again after stating that she seemed to have found something. Well, Ray would have followed immediately if the direction she was going wasn't so far for him to jump for the next roof. He grumbled a bit, searching for a way down and spotting another drainage pipe. W-wait up!" Ray cried out, beginning the slow process of climbing down the building. Still though, it gave him a few moments to think. Was this his first real interaction with a girl? Thinking back into his past, he had to say yes. Other times he met with women were either ones working in stores or resturaunts, or the big chested women his father would hang out with in the musical drinking places. Bars, was it? Ray couldn't remember. Still, this was his first real interaction with a girl and he didn't quite want to make it crash and burn. After all, it might be nice to get to know somebody. Getting married was part of living for yourself, right? So if Raygin were to, say, marry this girl then his dad was sure to come back...right? Raygin..sorta...then made up his mind to try at some point marry this girl he knew next to nothing about, despite not having an actual understanding of what exactly it meant to be married to someone. He was just being his lack of intellect self again. Dropping down the remaining distance Ray struck the ground, rolling just slightly to lessen the impact. He quickly began to follow after Tveda, who had actually gotten a good head start on him. He did manage to catch up to her when she finally stopped at the edge of town at what seemed to be a cave. Jogging the remaining distance, Raygin stopped her return to the town to fetch him. "Wow..you found it huh?" Ray commented, walking past her and to the mouth. Crouching down and rubbing his fingers across the earth under the roof, he took a few sniffs of the air and gagged. "Oh yeah...I know this scent now. This stink is what spider droppings smell like. It's hard to find and stuff since spiders are supposed to be so small." Ray commented, looking at the cave before turning his attention back to Tveda. He then smiled and spoke again "Good job though! You found where they're comin from before I did! You might just be a better hunter than me, ya know!" He chuckled, looking back into the cave. "I can hear em in there though. So!" He suddenly snatched a hold of Tvedas hand, but not hard enough to hurt her or force her along. "Come on! If we get in there we just might find what the problem is!" He stated, before attempting to pull Tveda into the cave with him. It was...interesting. The girl had been nervous about enterting the cave, but the young man before her had no fear...as if he didn't understand what fear was. Which was actually true. Raygin didn't know what fear was. Having lived in the wild, learned to live off of it and within it, he grew up without having to experience fear. He had his father with him all the time, and his own bravery leeched off onto Ray. Against forces of nature, Ray just wasn't afraid. |

Tveda was surprised when he came up beside her and sniffed the cave of all things. Sighing a little as it seemed she would have to teach him to be a little more careful, what if there had been some kinda gas given off in there? She shrugged her shoulders and looked into the cave. "The soil was moved recently. Someone must have dug it and wound up unearthing their nest. I'm not sure why they did it, but if we can get down there and start collapsing the tunnel, we could probably keep them from coming out and then just mop up the ones on the surface." She explained, giving the walls another tapping, watching some of the dirt loosen from it. They'd have to be quick about it. She paused, her face turning a slightly less-than-pale shade in response to the praise. It certainly wasn't something she was used to receiving when it wasn't about her fishing skill. His hand snared hers, and she was further surprised as he pulled her along down and into the cave, following as best she could as the pair of them went down into it's depths. She wasn't sure if he had a plan, but he certainly seemed confident enough, such that she actually smiled a little as she felt his courage almost turning infectious. As they went down deeper and deeper into the tunnels, eventually it grew darker and darker, until eventually they saw a light, a deep bioluminescence. A light moss that was growing in patches, the web even seemed to avoid it as it lit up the cave with a deep green glow. It actually felt.....strange. Just looking at the stuff gave her an odd sensation, thinking for a moment, she actually noticed that her body was moving so that it minimized how close she got to it, as if it was repellant in some way. Was this what they were digging for? Looking at the webbed areas, some of the spots looked as if the walls had been shorn away, or scraped away. However she hardly had time to look around, as soon they found themselves in the middle of an enormous cavern, and before their very eyes was a massive MudSkitter. She froze, shock evident on her face, almost-fear settling in as a skittering caught her attention and she looked up. The ceiling of the cave led up into a giant chasm, and all above them, were hundreds and hundreds of sleeping spiders. |

Raygin was rather quiet; oddly, as the two ventured deeper into the spiders cave. It wasn't that he was simply ignoring Tveda, or that his personality had shifted, it was that he was hunting. Normally, Raygin was an excited individual. He loved to talk, he loved to interact with people, but when he was in hunt mode he was quiet. Considering the low level lighting in the cave he needed to keep his senses sharp. Though, the sudden appearance of light in an otherwise dark tunnel did spark both Raygins interest and suspicion. "This way" He murmured, picking up the pace as he descended deeper into the darkness. His hand remained attached to Tvedas, conveying his own confidence into hers. He suddenly thought of something though, something he was surprised he had actually forgotten in fact. He turned his head towards her, a look of interest and curiosity drawn into his features. "Hey. After we get this done, what do ya say about becommin my b-" His words suddenly stopped though when he felt a rather anxious feeling inside of him. Turning back around he noticed the sudden appearance of the unknown mold growing across the walls. Blinking a few times he, ignoring his instincts, approached the mold curiously. "What is this stuff? It's...weird. Like my body is demanding I avoid it..." Ray commented before stepping away from the odd plant. Continuing down the tunnel and emerging into a massive room, Raygin paused. If Tveda could see his face she would see the look of, well, shock. Those amber eyes of his stared right up to the largest spider he had ever seen in his life. Looking at it, Raygin was amazed. It was about the size of a car, something the young mage never expected to see in his life. Upon both of their entries it shifted, those eight eyes of its seem to lock onto each of them. It refrained from moving off of its bed of webbing though, but those moving mandibles made Ray worry a bit. So, he did the first thing that came to mind. He stepped forward, releasing Tvedas hand, and stopped a stone's throw distances from the creature. "Well hey there. You're a big girl, aint cha?" Raygin suddenly asked. Of all the things that dumb hick could have said, he spoke to the spider like she was some sort of pet. But, there seemed to be a spark of curiosity in the spiders eyes. "A human comes not with steel or flame, but with words? This truly is a...interesting change of routine." Oh you should have seen Raygins eyes light up. "You can speak? How? That's amazing! How are you able to talk??" He asked, excitement filling his words as he gazed upon the massive beast. The Queen responded with "Magic is not just a tool of your kind, human. Creatures like I with the will and intelligence to do so can grasp sorcery as well. But, why is it you come? The last of your kind that came here ran off at the first sight of my beauty." Raygin blinked a few times, tilting his head as he responded the best he could. "I think you might have us mistaken with the people in the town above, ma'am. We were asked to look into your kids running around and scaring people. We human types aren't too fond of spiders you see." Ray explained, the joy in his voice never turning itself off. "But not you, it seems. I can smell the fear coming from the one behind you, but not a drop of it from you. Why is that?" She asked, those mandibles of hers moving like they were her own mouth. Ray chuckled a bit, scratching the back of his head a bit. "As long as I can remember my life and the wild have been together as one. I was raised by my dad in the outdoors, and because of that I know nothing but respect for animals. Especially ones such as yourself." Raygin commented, coming closer to the spider queen. One might see it as a dangerous move, but Raygin had confidence. "My name is Raygin, by the way. And my friend over there's name is Tveda. Could you tell us what's happened here? If we can get your side of the story, then I am sure we'll be able to solve whatever trouble is brewin between you and the towns folk." "There is trouble? I was only aware that my children were exploring the world outside. We are a family that dwells in the ground beneath, burrowing and creating tunnels lined with our silk. But, the soil here is loose and weak. Our tunnel came lose, collapsing and traping us within. We have tried to burrow out, but something is growing within the earth here that frightens my children and I." Raygin blinked as the queen explained her situation. "The moss! Tveda, the moss in the cave! Remember when I said it felt weird??" Raygin shouted, turning his attention to Tveda for a second. "All I want is to get me and my children out of this trap. I want no trouble with the humans, all I want is to give my children a good home. But I cannot do that with all that, as you said, moss in the way." The Queen explained, her magical voice actually having a hint of sadness within it. The mage nodded, a smile painting on his face as he got to his feet. "Don't worry ma'am, I'll help ya find a way out. Both me and my friend over there, alright? Give us a little time, okay!" Raygin consoled, before quickly turning to Tveda and jogging over to her. Putting one hand on her shoulder to turn her slightly, he began to whisper. "Okay! The spider can't move because that creepy moss stuff is affectin her a lot more than it did us! We're gonna need to try and clear out as much as we can from the tunnel to get her out! I can get to work rippin it apart, but it might help if we had some more hands. You think you can get the towns folk onboard with helpin us clear it out?" Raygin asked her, both hands on her shoulders. He faced her, those amber eyes of his peering right into her own. He waited her answer before making any actions. |

Apprehension. It was what she called it at least. Seeing the weird stuff before them, and all of those little ones blocking their path. It was weird, feeling his hand around hers. Typically people didn't even touch her what with her eyes and her skin. But then again it wasn't as if he had expressed any sort of normalcy since they'd taken this job. It was nice, to put it simply. Though once they ran into that enormous cavern, he just...continued to surprise her. The fact that the spider could talk really aught to have surprised her, but when Ray started holding a full-on conversation she wasn't really sure about anything at that point. Talking fish? Sure, she ran into them from time to time. Now and then some lakes had some sort of big fish that dominated the water, and once, just once, she had found one that talked. It stood to reason that, perhaps, other animals had the same capability. And what with how the conversation was going, the spider didn't seem particularly hostile as it's appearance would suggest. When Ray finally finished the talk she gave him a pat on the shoulder. Once more a little....astounded as he put his hands on her shoulders and stared at her. Definitely an unusual guy. "Yes I heard, let's go." She replied, she was right there after all. With the both of them in agreement, they would start heading back up the tunnel. Tveda leading the way for the time being. As they headed up, she put fishsticker to good use, using that small blade to begin scraping that moss away from the walls. It was a surprisingly arduous task. Every cell in her body was shouting. It wasn't......painful. To say it was would just be inaccurate. As jarring as it was, it did not hurt, it was simply as if it was a....sour taste. As if she were submerged in something sour. It didn't hurt, but it was very unnerving. But even so she managed to continue, with Ray's assistance they gathered the stuff up and took it up to the cave mouth. She was fairly....surprised. Was it really this simple? She had expected some sort of fight or tussle with the spiders themselves, but that the solution was so simple as getting rid of the moss. She was surprised. At least she would have been. Were it not for the two figures that blocked their path at the mouth of the tunnel. She froze in place, frowning as Something about them struck her as....off. They were....awfully short weren't they? "You monsters....." Came the sob from one of them, trembling visibly as a soft, feminine voice came from them, a sleeved hand raising to wipe away...tears? "We were almost finished......couldn't you have just left it alone? Just....just another day. And we cold have sealed in those...monsters for good...." He growled, the glint of a blade showing in one hand, as the other brandished a cleaver. "I....I'm sorry ....but.....f....for our village....we can't let you live..." |
