Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Something did indeed smell funky in the hospitals reception area, and it was a smell Artesia was all too familiar with given her treks into ruins and tombs on a frequent basis. Decay was something that time itself brought about and humans fought against. Be it our structures, our food or even our bodies after death itself - there was nothing that would not find itself ravaged by it. Stains of some description covered the center of the area with a shirt at its center. The deep crimson nature of the substance that was splattered across the floor was a rather large giveaway as to what it must have been in the past. Artesia wasn't afraid of getting closer to the mess, unlike the others in her company. "Long after." The shirt lifted away from the stain below it without so much as a touch on it - which meant that the mess had to have been completely dry when it had been put down there.

Unggoy was rightfully concerned with their companion passing out again if he went anywhere alone, but Artesia could see Kaku's side of things as well. Still, if they were going to be smart about things then the person without a weapon should probably stick with those that possessed some. "Faint or not, you should stay behind us." Danger lurked around every corner and it wouldn't do for the one leading them to be the most vulnerable. Artesia took the lead. "And stick close." She drew Hidari and Migi from their sheaths. "But not too close." In other words, she didn't want someone up in her personal space to the point she couldn't swing her weapons without lobbing their head off. But at the same time, she needed them close enough that she could protect them if they were attacked.

There were many rooms to be found along the halls but all were empty save the occasional flipped bed and broken piece of what had been medical equipment. It wasn't until they reached a t-junction and came to see a sign with a pair of eating utensils depicted that they even seemed to be on the right track. The issue was; which way was it supposed to be pointing? It had been broken long ago and there was no way to tell which direction it had been trying to tell them the cafeteria was in. "Well, we've already established that splitting up is a bad idea." Artesia glanced down each direction and saw nothing that would give away the correct choice to make. "So, I guess we take a gamble."

A quick examination of the lot of them and how they reacted brought a thought to Monkey's mind - "Actually, since we'll be moving together as a group; Tia, could you take the lead, you're probably the most prepared of us all if we stumble into something unpleasant. Kaku, you...should keep in the middle. Second pair of eyes for Tia." There was another reason for that too, but he didn't really have to say it out loud.

"That means I'll stay in the back - i have a few more set of eyes to look around with, in case trouble decides to chase us instead." With that, Monkey allowed his masks to materialize - a half dozen floating objects, faceless faces simply hovering in the air around himself. While he couldn't make them audible to the two with him, his masks could still talk to him, and better yet, they were each a spirit in themselves, a flexible warning system if anything got too close.

The masks spun before taking their places in a circle around Monkey, each one facing a separate direction. "The left- the left should take us deeper into the hospital, right? Hospital cafeterias are probably located fairly deep in the place. or maybe on the top floor- you know, give the patients a view while they eat, for the ones lucky enough to be eating outside of their hospital beds?" There was a bit of a personal tone to that, something that the slight limp of his right leg could testify to. "Neither of you would happen to have any kind of long-distance sensory magic, would you?"

[[OOC: i wanna try a thing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ]]

Kaku? Oh, right. Even Rou knew of the unspoken reasoning behind Monkey's suggestion combined with what Tia said, but Rou wasn't averse to it due to what he was capable of... and because he understood their concerns even if it tickled him like a needle. Monkey's own capabilities weren't exclusive to that sword of his, and the masks he conjured seemed fitting to the mask he was currently adorning as well. Rou hadn't expected Monkey to be a mage, but it wasn't too much of a surprising fact to discover and accept. Tia's reliance and trustworthiness with those blades of hers were even less surprising, and Rou kind of liked how this formation. "...Sure." Someone with eyes in the back, someone prepared for reactions in the front, and ...someone who can sorta hear things in the middle? He was a bit lacking, but well, Rou liked being able to keep track of both Monkey and Tia, if anything. "Not long-distance, no. If something starts charging or tunneling at us steadily, then I'll be able to feel them though." He pointed at his worn headphones with the hand that wasn't holding his stick.

"As for figuring out which direction, then no I can't help with that. We can try left. Unless, either of you want to trust that fungi trail?" As it was, the small fungi from the entrance had grown in lines along the corridor that they were walking through, but it was only at this t-junction that the line trailed to the right. Rou didn't know enough about fungi to figure out what it was those things were feeding on though. He could feel Kaku nibbling his side, probably out of irritation, so he'll have to tell them soon. Not now though. Didn't feel like it. Instead, he asked Tia, "Are you a mage as well? Maybe we ended up here because all of us had magic. Though, it still wouldn't make too much sense."

[tabs][tab=Left]As they would walk, nothing extraordinary would occur nor be seen for a while. Though the deeper they went, the corridor would darken as their sunlight was being left behind. Afterward, it wouldn't be long until they would begin to hear an incomprehensible whisper in the air, yet there would be no breeze that would suggest it being the wind's fault. The group would gradually feel a heavy presence hovering over them, as if it was beckoning them to continue onward. For those musically inclined, they may notice a distinct melody from the whispering.[/tab][tab=Right]From the t-junction, sunlight can be seen drenching the hallway farther down. Yet, the brightness would not allow the rest of the hallway to be visible past the lighted area. The fungi are ever present along the edges of the hallway, and as the group would pass through the sunlight, the fungi would begin to increase, with some even growing from the ceiling of the hallway. It wouldn't be long until the sunlight's illumination was replaced by the blue luminescence of the fungi, some of which were increasing in size.[/tab][/tabs]

Both presented good opinions on which way they felt was the right and/or best way to go, but Artesia had one of her own based on what came into view. A creature straight out of 'nopesville' came crawling out from a hole in the wall in the corridor to their right. It was easily the size of a domestic cat, if not a small dog, and the skittering sounds it made were far from comforting. But at least it was a good indication that a source of food was most likely in that direction.... right? "We'll try the right. Follow the breadcrumbs as it is." If it was the wrong way then they could always just make the trek back to the junction and go the other direction, or so logic dictated anyway. As for the question 'Kaku' posed to her; "I've got a few tricks up my sleeve." Perhaps the answer wasn't exactly straightforward nor what he'd wanted, but it would be enough to tell him that she was most likely a mage with a few techniques under her belt.

The fungi which grew upon the walls of the corridors were increasingly larger the further the group travelled along them, their ability to glow also seemingly increasing as well. In a way the gentle blue glow could have been considered pretty if it was not for the fact it was coming from fungi, and fungi that a whole host of small cockroaches and other things were feasting on. Their meal was leaving them with a faint glow all of their of their own and Artesia couldn't help but wonder if the fungi had something to do with the massive one they had spotted earlier. It certainly wasn't hard to imagine that it had a hand in bringing the creatures to grow such a massive size.

Eventually, after a series of twists and turns and a couple of dead ends due to collapsed walls and the like, the three stood at the partially broken entrance doors to the cafeteria they had been seeking. "Shhh," Artesia held her hand out to stop her allies from advancing and a finger to her lips. "Hear that?" From the other side of the doors was the sounds of what each would recognise to most likely be those of an animal or animals feasting on something fresh. Advancing carefully and quietly, the three could reach a spot where by looking through the missing bottom corner of the right hand door; they could see what was making the noises.

There were several of them, at least four huddled around something as their jaws tore away at something wet and fleshy. It made sense that the cafeteria would attract creatures that desired what it held, and that predators would come in turn to prey on them. The question was; did the men still want to see what luck had in store for them in the cupboards? Artesia was far from afraid of charging in for a fight, even with the chance of more being inside. That didn't mean the other two wanted any part of it though.

"...In retrospect, I'm not sure why I didn't account for this in my calculations."

Monkey frowned, as one of his masks that he'd sent out from him described the scene in the cafeteria in words that only he could hear. The masked man, naturally, responded to the mask, because for all of his knowledge it existed and spoke and could respond; but for the moment, he forgot that his two companions didn't have the luxury of communicating with his magical items.

"What is it? Looks like rabid dogs? How many of them?" Monkey whispered aloud as quietly as he possibly could, a pause between each sentence. "Did you say four, or five? What're they doing? Eating, what are they eating though? Cannibalism? Wow, this place really has gone to the dogs. No, that wasn't an intentional joke."

A hand went to his sword's handle and the other its sheath, as the masked man pulled out his blade from its resting place. "We can take care of it- I think. Can we take care of it? I think I could handle one or two, Tia too. As for Kaku, you, well, do you want to stay here for a moment or do you have some secret ace up your sleeve that we don't know of yet?" Yes, so far they had little in the way of a contingency plan...for anything. It appeared to be three of them against roughly half of those beasts; now would be an excellent time to throw out one's hidden cards, Monkey thought.

The mask, still speaking, confirmed the one thing Monkey wanted to know - "Oh, folks, there's a pantry to the right side of the cafeteria, apparently. Our best bet is probably in there, if we can get to it." Ah yes, the pantry on the right side of the cafeteria.

The farthest possible location away from themselves in the cafeteria.

There was definitely a moment or two in which at least one of Artesia's brows rose as she listened to Unggoy talk to himself, or rather, to his mask. She'd gathered there would have been some kind of link between the mage and the masks he seemed to control, even that he may have been able to communicate with them telekinetically. But, why he was speaking aloud to the mask when it could clearly speak to him telekinetically was confusing to say the least.

Kaku didn't respond to Unggoy's question, but Artesia did. "Piece of cake." The Sinian had always liked that particular phrase and as she spoke it, her stomach grumbled at the thought of an actual piece of cake. Her weapons weren't just for show, and even if the men in her company were useless; she had the dogs beat. There was just one issue.

The dogs had either heard their whispers and/or smelled them behind the doors. Things went dead silent for a second or two before the doors burst open and the trio were forced to scatter to avoid the snarling jaws that launched at them. In the chaos, one of the dog like creatures managed to bite one of the smoke bombs on Artesia's belt, and as the corridor was encased in smoke; they'd find themselves losing Kaku to the lack of vision. Not that they didn't have bigger things to worry about; namely the creatures attacking them.

Artesia would be fine thanks to her agility and the multitude of weapons she had at her disposal. The smoke would cause her to retreat further down the corridor to a point where she could actually see and breath properly, but she wouldn't go so far away that a raised voice couldn't communicate with her companions.

Unggoy's best bet for clearer air was to retreat into the cafeteria itself to fight the dog like creature that had set its sights on him. It was bloodthirsty and unless he killed it or severaly maimed it, it wouldn't give up on tearing him to pieces.
