Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

The piercing light of the sun shone brightly through the window, when Oami first opened his eyes. Sluggishly, the young man turned to the right on his comfortable bed, looking at the display on the little lacrima-powered clock - it was only morning, a bit after eight. The young man groaned, and rolled back into the comfort of his bed, surrounded by cushioned pillows and soft blankets.

Then he jolted up, leaping out of his bed.

Oami did not own a lacrima-powered clock.

"Wait a minute what in the- where am I?!" He uttered, looking around- first, at himself. He had his normal attire on, that was a good thing; with a practiced ease, Oami summoned a mask over his face as well, that red and white spirit manifesting itself onto his face as it did whenever he was awake.

Second, he glanced around the room, spinning around as he tried to figure out where he was in- a hotel room, it looked like. It was inconspicuous enough; a small single room, with all the basic necessities. But how did he get here?

Instinctively, Oami ran to the windows, picking up his sword along the way - he looked out.

Empty. Everything was empty. The streets were empty of people, of vehicles, the buildings themselves looked like they had been left alone for quite a while- "No, this can't be happening. No, I'm not the last man on earth. No, no, this is a dream, this is a dream-"

The masked man spun around and ran to the door, flinging it open as he exited the room and entered the hallway of a hotel, filled with many similar doors of presumably similar rooms.

"Hello? Hello?! Is anyone there?"

Who the bloody screaming nether was making such a loud noise? Kaku didn't want to move, but then words followed the sound of doors opening and closing. Worse, was that they echoed, and now Kaku was left with remnants of... of... Wait, did he even dream anything? Who cares! The mage rolled over in protest to bury his face into the puff of the pillow, and was reflexively mindful of his headphones. His arms spread out to take as much space as they were free to. His legs however stretched out, but moved as if looking for something. Wait.

Slit-esque eyes of gold opened, and all he could see was the white of the pillow. That was normal. Pillows were normal, and white pillows were a sign of cleanliness, but-- "Rou? Rou. Rouuuu. ... ? ... !?" His other not-self wasn't present, and Kaku pushed himself off the bed. He managed to roll off of it, but he didn't mind the bump. With a quick scan, Kaku realized for once that he had no idea where he was. This wasn't home, or the guild hall, or the Empyrea dorm. His attire and gear were all present though, which was weird on its own, because it meant... he wasn't captured? Where was Rou.

Because, there was no trace of a black snake anywhere in the strange room, or white hair considering that Kaku was in charge this time. "Rou!" Jabbing his feet into the boots innocently standing by and shoving his shillelagh stick between his back's straps while running, Kaku dismissed the sounds that had woken him and opened the door. He half expected it to be locked, but was both surprised and currently uncaring that he was able to freely unlock it. Never mind the sunlight streaming through the window, or the hallway that reminded him of the dorms while being not, and never mind the person far down the hallway, and then Kaku heard it.

Turning away from the person down the hallway, Kaku rushed down the other direction until he was three doors down. He could hear the slither and the hissing, and so opened the door but was barred by the lock. Right. "Come on!"

"At least I can hear you," came the reply from the other side. At times like this, having no limbs made such a task difficult. Why were they even in separate rooms?

If the sun that filtered through the blinds and onto her face wasn't enough to stir the slumbering red head, then you wouldn't have thought that echo of a distant voice would have either - but you'd be wrong. Artesia stirred in her seat atop what looked to be a relatively dated bar stool, a groan escaping her lips as the light just now annoyed her. Her body was stiff, likely from having been in the hunched over position on the stool itself for many hours. As unfortunate as it was to say, it wouldn't have been the first time she'd found herself forced to sleep in an uncomfortable place and/or way. She'd felt worse, and as more of her senses returned to her, she began to wonder how that was.

If she had passed out in the bar that she now scanned with groggy eyes, she would have had to have downed more liquor than most could imagine. Hell, the last time she'd passed out due to intoxication without expecting it was when she'd gotten into her father's moonshine as a young teen. No joke, that shit was strong enough to be used for eye surgery. Actually, why she didn't feel like death itself after having supposedly downed something so strong wasn't the largest question anymore, not now she realised the place was completely empty.

Now upright in her seat, her full mind back to its regular sense, Artesia started noticing the smaller details of the building around her. For one, she didn't recall ever having gone there. So how was it she found herself in the middle of it? Secondly, it looked somewhat dusty, most definitely not befitting a place that would have been in business recently. And finally, where were all the people? Nothing made sense. You wouldn't just up and leave someone passed out in your bar, and if it hadn't been open then why was she there and how did she come to pass out? There were no liquor bottles laying around her either so she hadn't done the drinking alone either.

Well, at least she still had all her stuff.

It was right then and there, as her mind began to smoke and whir that the sound which had woke her up repeated itself. It was a voice, and one that seemed panicked to say the least. Where was it coming from though, across the street? A groan and several stumbled steps on stiff legs later and Artesia was making her way towards the front door of the tavern. Handling the bright light outside wasn't going to be easy, she'd been inside the dark room for some time as it seemed.

Still panicking, Oami turned- and saw him.

There was someone else there, someone next to a door - and at once, he became calm. So, at the very least, he wasn't the last man on earth after all.

By instinct, a hand went to the handle of Oami's sheathed sword, and the other to its handle. Now that his retrospectively-ridiculous nightmare was dispelled, he had a whole slew of other problems to worry about. Trying to decide what to do, the masked man began to back away from the person over there talking to a door. There had to be an exit to this hotel, and he was suddenly determined to find that first.

It was a surprisingly easy task - this here was a two-floor hotel, with a second floor composed solely of this hallway and its adjacent hotel rooms. The stairs down, at the center of the hall, led directly to the entrance hall of the hotel. It was this set of stairs, that Oami took to moving towards and soon enough descending, before walking straight out-

or not.

There was someone else, of all things, walking towards the place.

In a moment of calm, the masked man observed his surroundings, then run, leaped, and dove behind the receptionist's desks, momentarily ignoring his flying straight into the edge of the receptionist's chair and rolling down to hide under the solid wooden table.

...ouch. Perhaps he shouldn't have done that so fast. For one, his side was now in a bit more than a bit of pain.

On one hand, it probably would be very easy to break through such a door. On the other hand... should he? He didn't know where he was. This place and circumstances were very unpleasant to think about, but he wasn't in immediate danger. Meanwhile, Rou was in there... At best, he was in there alone, just as how Kaku had woken up. At worst― Oh for crying out loud, what did Kaku care about the place? They had no memory of ever arriving here, and as far as he cared, he needed this blasted door open.

Without any doubt, his hands began to ooze with black splotches. Kaku placed one hand at the lower corner of the door and let his venom... poison... do its thing weakening the wood. With a few kicks at the spot and the inevitable sound of something breaking, Rou emerged from the hole. The black snake was uninjured, and at worst just eyed Kaku for the property destruction. "Any idea why we were separated, or what this place is?" Picking Rou up and letting him slither into the jacket to wrap around his waist, Kaku remembered about that other guy. "No, but I saw someone that we could ask... Probably. Wait, where'd he go?" It was just the two of them on this floor now.

Now that the two were together once more, Kaku could think about everything that he couldn't remember. "No one is coming from the sound of things. I can't imagine we've been captured if they're just gonna let us go like this. We could go downstairs, but..." A glance at the numbers of the door, 213, and the similar 2## of the other rooms, probably meant this was the second floor. Remembering about his own room, Kaku walked back the way into it. Everything was the same as he had left it, but this time he walked toward the window. The barren state of everything, not even an insect or bird, was way too loud. Rou was peering at everything from the jacket's collar.

Rou saw someone though, a moving red from their height, walking toward the building. "Look, it's not that empty after all," "So two others in such a strange place. Shall we go and ask what the nether is up?" Even so, Kaku was a bit wary of the entire situation. His jacket's tail wasn't glowing, so at least there weren't any demons nearby. He could jump out the window right now, but he wasn't trying to run away either. "Alright." He opened the window, but then turned around to make his way downstairs.

Once he was there, there was still nothing out of the usual ordinary for a hotel, as they had then figured out. Rou stayed quiet and retreated back out of sight until contact was made and trustable. "...Anyone else here?" Kaku tested out. He couldn't see anyone else other than the person walking toward the hotel through the glass doors, but he kept his focus on anything he heard or any vibrations he'd feel. The black-haired boy kept himself visible to the other person, if they were searching, if they entered. "...I don't suppose you also woke up with no prior memory?" he would ask, if she entered.

Blinded by the sunlight from above or not, Artesia wasn't incapable of seeing the figure dashing behind the clerks desk at the hotel lobby. Courtesy of the two massive front doors which were made entirely of glass, no stickers or marking to obscure vision to be seen, she'd spotted them coming down the stairs as well. She hadn't a good enough focus on them to know whether or not they were male or female, the long hair that trailed along behind them about all she had to go off of - something which either gender could have, especially in the current day and age.

Artesia pretended she hadn't a clue as to the presence of another as she stepped inside to feel the cool caress of the chilled air within the building. She wiped a stray piece of hair from her face and stood as if to enjoy the sensation of what was clearly still a functioning air-conditioning system. The bar she'd woken up in definitely hadn't had as much and thanks to the stuffy building, she had a thin film of sheen to her skin. Whoever it was behind the desk would have to be the red heads second focus for the time being, the steps of another coming down the stairs becoming the first.

With a hand on the hilt of Hidari, she watched the stairs until the sight of the raven haired boy came into sight. His body language and cautious gaze told her that he lacked the presence to be a threat, and his words spoke volumes as to what he was doing there. She was not alone, and it seemed the others also had no clue as to what was going on. "Wouldn't be the first time." She said with curled edges to her lips. Seriously though, it wasn't the first time she'd been under the effect of something and woken up somewhere with no clue as to how. In fact, it was steadily being a more common occurrence as her time in Fiore itself ticked on by.

What was it with the nation and knocking you out, taking you somewhere else and making you fight to survive?

"As for who is here," Artesia turned her gaze to the clerks desk, her hand still resting on Hidari's hilt. "You'll have to ask the one behind the desk if they want to be included." Yep, she'd just called them out.

Think quick, think quick- yes!

Thankfully, Oami didn't have to do his thinking alone - because he was never alone.

As if on cue, a lone mask floated up from behind the desk, a strange blue object that would definitely complete any horror movie memorabilia collection - only to be swat down by the rising Oami himself, more out of the instinctive urge to get them out of the way than because he wanted to be seen. By the time the man in the red and white mask realized that his masks had done his thinking for him, putting him in the open, it was too late - he was already standing, and, thanks to some very nice positioning, directly facing the others in the hotel lobby.

"My apologies," Oami briskly stated. "I was experiencing a few...technical difficulties." Very much true.

The masked man took a step back, leaped onto, then off of, the table, as he made his way towards them, or at least further away from the lobby desk. "Let's get started, shall we?" Oami announced, proving that his speaking abilities were much more intact than his hiding abilities. "First things first, you-" and he said this gesturing towards the black-haired lad - "are correct, and from what I can tell, none of us know where we are, or why we are here." So that was one thing they had in common.

"Secondly, the streets are empty in this city, and I don't know why, but it would be a good idea to find out; therefore, I propose that we skip any awkward introductions and get straight to it - I don't know where we are, nor why, but I would like to find out, and that would be very hard if any of us here started acting paranoid. So, let's pretend, at the very least, that we are each other's allies of fate, at least until we get this mess figured out. Sound good?"

He smiled, forgetting for a moment that his mask wouldn't show it.

"For the record, just call me Monkey. Look at the mask, it's not a hard name to remember."

Redder than the hidden black snake's eyes, Kaku couldn't help but note the splash of color framing the woman's face. Next was her scar, and although scars were common and portrayed some type of experience from something, the placement of it forced him to make direct eye contact. Preceding it all though, were the multitude of blades that she visibly carried, one of which her hand was ready to unsheathe at her whim. It didn't escape Kaku's notice and he stopped at the stairs' end, but what more could he do than to wait for her response? He prepared himself to pull out the shillelagh or whip if she moved, but for now he didn't want a misunderstanding. Fortunately, it was out of caution and not bloodlust that had the woman in that stance, and her reply answered more than just his question: neither he nor Rou were in this situation alone no matter which 'side' the woman was on. "Eh, you have more experience in that regard then."

She shared with him the presence of another person, and sure enough it explained the pained breathing coming from that direction. Kaku kept his eyes on the woman though, mainly shifting toward the hilt of her blade while ignoring the appeal that she surely garners to most males, and kept his headphone'd ears focused for the sound or movement of the person being called it. No one had to wait long. It was only when that man started talking that Kaku spared the masked man a glance, and so missed the floating mask. "You were the guy yelling before, weren't you?" His hair was as long as the earlier's silhouette.

At the very least, every person Kaku's seen so far was now accounted for... but that man's later words struck harder with that fact. He was a talker and had taken the lead, but this time Kaku didn't mind all the relevant information sharing. "...Hah? Allies, huh." When it was apparent that everyone present was at a shared loss, Kaku walked away from the stairs to stand just a bit closer to the other two. His jacket's tail swayed with every step, but it still wasn't glowing. Maybe Kaku shouldn't assume the possibilities of demons so much. He tilted his head as if giving it a thought, his yellow eyes focusing passed them and toward the empty street outside the glass doors.

"Straight to business with no diddly dawdling? I'm alright with that. It's true how the lack of everything is a bit jarring. You want us all to stick together though?" He looked at the woman, capable as she was, maybe even overly capable with all that stuff, then to the man who had... barely anything. Well, Kaku had barely anything to show either, so, "I'm okay with that too." He and Rou had each other if the worse occurred, but Monkey man wanted to find out what the nether was going on, and so did the duo. "Kaku. I hope you two are fine with snakes." He was fine giving out his name, because it was the truth he was willing to impart while keeping Rou hidden. The snake would reveal himself sooner or later to the company, but not now. Maybe when they inevitably left the building and into that dreadful heat. "The most I know is what I could see from the second floor's window. And well, there was nothing. No other life than everyone right here."

Artesia had woken to find herself in quite the mischievous and witty frame of mind, her knee jerk reaction to what the raven haired boy had said earning him a wink and several words. "Oh? Not just there I can assure you." Was she hitting on him? No. What she said was meant to state that she held experience in life, sailing, tomb raiding and all other kinds of things that her life of exploration had afforded her - just, equally so for whatever naughty things her wink may have perverted his mind into thinking about. After all, the best kinds of tease were the ones that people inflicted upon themselves.

The way what turned out to be a man had sprung up from behind the desk had Artesia wondering if he'd a history of just such actions - his poise and timing almost befitting a life on stage responding to queues. Then came his more than flamboyant way of approaching her, he definitely wasn't afraid of the spotlight. Or so it seemed now that he could be fairly sure there was no immediate threat to him anyway. The man was one that liked to take the lead of things, and Artesia would let him until she felt like doing otherwise. She was a woman of the seas and tombs/ruins, and more importantly she was used to the Captain role. Not that she didn't like sitting back every now and then to let others do some of the work.

Artesia removed her hand from Hidari's sheath and completely relaxed her stance before the two males in her company. They'd both seen her and the amount of weapons she carried, not to mention her demeanour and confidence - they'd have been stupid to try anything. "Very well Unggoy, we will humour you." Exactly why she had flicked back to her native tongue for the pronunciation of the word 'Monkey', she hadn't the foggiest. "Can't say some company doesn't make the time go by faster after all." She glanced to the empty lobby around them. "Besides, choice seems a little bit lacking around here." Indeed, there was no choice as to who else to take if she didn't find the pair before her at all appealing for company.

With their party decided and their first order of business fleshing itself out, the group were left to give the bare minimum of introductions - their names. The man with the mask and the long, flowing ebony hair had requested to be referred to as Unggoy or 'Monkey'. The other raven haired fellow had called himself Kaku, so, Arrtesia was the only one left. The question was; which moniker did she feel like giving out this time around? "Let's keep it simple. Just call me Tia." Kaku was a short name and Unngoy was simple enough, so why would she bother with her entire name right now? Yeah, there was no point.

The red head shared an inward joke with herself in regards to the fact that snakes had yet again found their way into her day before leaning into a stretch and listening to what Kaku had to throw out into the open. "Bar across the street's as empty as an open cookie jar as well." She added when he was finished.

Very well, the introductions were over- at least now Monkey had a name to use to keep tabs on the two of them. One of these two looked by far more dangerous than the other, but for some reason that only made him more interested in the both of them; he knew so little, for once. This was not a feeling he was accustomed to.

"Well then - Kaku, Tia - let's figure out what's going on around here, shall we?" The masked man announced, stepping away from the desk and towards the doors. The two of them seemed sensible enough, though the lady seemed to have some pronunciation issues for his name - but who was he to judge? - "We're the only ones here, but we're not the only ones in the city- and there is bound to be someone out there crazier than me. Us."

He was but a step away from going out the door when he stopped- "Is that what I think it is?"

Right now, in the middle of the street, there was. A zebra.

Why was there a zebra? Monkey had no idea- but just the sight of it, standing alone in the middle of an abandoned street, seemed nothing less than surreal. For once, the masked man was almost left speechless. Almost. Then he noticed the other parts of the city.

The buildings, everything was in ruins - not ruins like Paaran Disen, not ancient artifacts of once-standing civilizations; no, they were ruins in the abandoned sense of the term. Plants grew all about, thriving in the lack of human competition. Where windows once held a place, now there grew vines and leaves; branches stuck through walls, growing between and through the slowly-weakening infrastructure.

"Oh...this isn't what I expected. How long have I- we, been out?"
