Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Snow made it back to the fire in time to see that around ten men were srruounding the women, who were apparently now fighting for their lives. They had been more or less safe in the cells of the tower, to be ransomed off to the highest bidder. But apparently they had been worth the little amount of trouble there, and they were now worthless. So there was Marvin, in the rear, and here were ten men, all scared and hardened, leering at the women and pointing swords, axes and bows in their direction.

Snow did the first thing she though of, which was pull out her bow and take aim at an unguarded neck. Her arrow went wide of its mark, causing her to curse explosively, even as she held the wrist which was the cause of all the trouble. "I'm over here ugly! Come fight me!" Gods but she was stupid sometimes. Injured as she was, she was playing the part of a mother sparrow, and drawing attention away from what, in this case, amounted to her own baby birds. These women were even more defenseless than she was. Besides, she knew she had back-up somewhere, and he would be there swiftly.

"No. We don't just want you anymore. We want all of you dead. You're useless, and you know too much." Marvin shouted this from the back of the group. But her shouts had drawn the attention of the men long enough for at least part of the girls to go back the other way. Now there were three, and her, as the othet other 4 that had been there fled. She couldn't quite understand why the other two didn't flee, but she didn't say anything. She couldn't yell at them for being brave. At least, not right now.

The fact that she could hear other footsteps from two more directions meant that they were about to be in a world of shit. Oh great. Snow put a hand behind her back, where wolfish claws suddenly grew, and something pretty and glowing started to form there, although it was smallish at the start. The women were ready to defend her, but she wasn't going to have all of that.

"Run. Straight back the way I came from. Don't stop." With that she let fly the moonbeam which had been building in her hand, and it hit the man closest to her in the face. He fell over, just a bit, into the next one, his face severely damaged, but mostly intact. She didn't expect the punch, but she got it. And she crumpled to the ground with the force of the blow to her kidney, even as she growled her unhappiness. Now nine men and Marvin were closing in, but she had gotten the women away safely. And she was acutely aware that Ranth was around, and she was placing an inordinate amount of faith in the fact that he might get there fast enough to save her ass.

Sarcasm. Because beating the shit out of people is illegal.

As Snow slumped to the ground having received the mother of all kidney punches, she would be helpless to do much else but to watch through watering eyes as the man who had dealt the savage blow hefted his axe with a gleeful gleam in his eyes and licked his lips. Some men enjoyed violating women the 'traditional' way, but this man was a different breed of psychopath who got his rocks off by removing their heads and remembering the terrified expressions in their final moments.

But as he gripped the handle firmly with both hands and began to deliver the fatal blow, the man would find that when he brought his hands down the axe didn't come with it... and neither did his hands. Instead, there was a thump behind him as the axe fell the ground with his hands and forearms still gripping it. As for the man, he found himself staring disbelievingly at two stumps that ended just below his elbow, blood squirting from the severed veins in time with the beating of his heart.

He might have started screaming at that point, but he never got the chance as with a loud whooshing sound, his expression froze on his face and then his head fell from his shoulders and landed looking up through unseeing eyes at Snow's face. It had all happened so quickly that none of the other men knew how to react or what to make of their comrades abrupt dismemberment. They had known that this woman was a mage, but if she had this kind of power then why hadn't she just walked out on her first day and slaughtered them all?

The answer came in the form of crunching footsteps that came from the darkness beyond the clearing and the light of the moon above them. Then from out of the darkness stepped a man with pale blonde hair and eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness as the air around him rippled ominously. "Who the fuck are you!?" One of the men shouted at the stranger and shivered as the man's eyes fixed upon him. "Me? I'm your worst nightmare", he said coldly and then the ominous whooshing sound came again and one by one the men began to fall as great explosions of blood sprayed from great gashes inflicted by invisible blades.

They ran, or more accurately that tried to run. But none made it out of the clearing without being cut down. Not even Marvin, who was left lying on his back, shivering and coughing blood as he held his hands to the wound on his neck and tried in vain to hold in his lifeblood as it seeped past his fingers. He would linger for a time and then he would die, but Ranth paid the men no heed as he crouched beside Snow, his icy facade thawing as concern flickered behind his eyes. "Can you walk?" There wee other things he wanted to say, but they would have to wait as the sound of a great many more men could be heard along with their urgent shouts as they closed in on their position.

Now under moonlight, Ranth could see the numerous bruises that were scattered across his lover's body and the split lip caked with dried blood and he felt something feral stir inside his chest. They would pay for what they'd done. They would pay the iron price, each and every one of them.

Snow had been prepared, to the extent one can be prepared, to take her last breath. She was awaiting the blow with eyes open which would end her life, and was lacking even the breath to make a smartass comment. What a way to go, she thought as the man raised his arms higher, an evil gleam in his eyes as he stared down at her. When he made the move which would bring the ax down, she finally took a breath. But when his hands, or what should have been.his hands, came down, he was spraying blood from meager stumps. She may have laughed. She may have done so a bit madly as his head flew off and landed in front of her face, still full of confusion as the light in his eyes went out.

The men before her might have run, if they had had time. They might have saved their own skins. But, her back-up had arrived in earnest, which meant they were all fucked. And she smiled at the thought. Marvin, the poor dear, had had the sense to run as soon as Ranth stepped out of the shadows. But he had run the wrong way. He had run toward Snow, perhaps thinking that he could take her hostage or some such nonsense. He feel to the ground before be reached her, a deep wound in his neck. Snow finally started to sit up then, her eyes on the dying man. "I told you. Every drop of my blood. Another nail in your coffin." It was whispered, as she watched all the other men start to fall around her. She could still hear more footsteps though.

Ranth crouched before her, and despite the concern on his face, she was suddenly worried for him. She had never seen him so cold, so willing to kill. And for a moment a frown creased her brow. She sat up fully and placed one hand on his arm. "You know me better than that. I'm fine." She was lying through her teeth. But she wanted to wipe that look off his face. "Had them right...Where I wanted them..." She said as she made an attempt at standing. Her legs held, but only just. "I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid." She was honest on that score at the least. Even if she became the wolf, she would still have her injuries. And would be an easier target than she already was.

She put a hand to her side, and coughed once, spitting out a modicum of blood. "There are at least twenty more. And they're almost..." At about this instant, a contingent of men broke through the cover of the trees. Behind them, Snow could hear screaming and her eyes went wide. They had gotten to some of the girls. Some of the ones she had sent back to keep them safe. She growled lightly. But there was little she could do. She could attempt to run, but she was already worn out. She looked at Ranth, faced with yet more men. "I have to help them, if I ca--" It became a moot point as at least one scream was brutally cut off, and the sudden silence following it was more than ominous.

Ranth surveyed the world around him from a place that felt removed from the body he was attached to. He felt like he was watching himself from upon a throne of frozen rage and it was in this state of chilling calm that he took in everything and processed it in a manner more akin to a machine than a living, breathing being of flesh and blood. He took in Snow's feeble attempt to hide the extent of her injuries or the amount of pain the was in. Though he didn't realise that part of that pain was caused by her keen awareness of his current state rather than anything these men had done to her.

But with each bruise, cut and wince that his eyes drank in, the chill within him grew and as the men drew ever closer Ranth stood up and turned his impassive gaze towards the edge of the clearing from which they would soon arrive. "Go find Vince", he said softly. Perhaps too softly. He should have been angry, he should have growled or hissed or spat. he should have been sneering. But instead he was completely, unerringly calm. "Now Snow, I'll take it from here", he added in that same quiet voice that was ten times more effective at making her follow his instructions... and a hundred times more terrifying.

Calmly and with utter serenity Ranth stepped away from Snow and towards the edge of the clearing as men began streaming into the clearing and if the stranger blonde man didn't give them reason to stop, the bodies of their comrades strewn at their feet sure as hell did and their reckless charge came to an awkward halt as the two companies totaling over twenty men. They were shouting at him, but Ranth noted with something akin to dulled amusement that their words were nothing but white noise, but he could see their faces collectively shifting from shock, to horror and then finally to outrage before coming to rest on burning fury. But no flame could thaw the throne upon which Ranth now sat.

Ranth didn't know if Snow had gone, or if she had how far she'd gone. But in his world of frozen malice he reasoned that it didn't matter. None of these men would make it past him. Nor would they make it away from him. The moment that each one stepped into the firelight he memorised their faces. These were the faces of dead men that simply didn't realise that they were dead. Not yet anyway. "In the interest of full disclosure... none of you are leaving here alive", Ranth said as he began to walk towards them with slow, inexorably strides.

She hadn't seen him this way ever. A big part of her wanted to reach out to him, but she was in no position to do so. She needed to get under cover and out his way. But her heart told her that behind her lay the bodies of women she had been proud of. She was tired though. And she would be a hinderance to him. Nothing more. Time enough later for soft words and welcoming embraces. For now, there was no time for all of that.

She made herself stay upright. Made herself walk away from the clearing as best she could without betraying how honestly weak she now was. All the running had at last worn down tenuous strength. She made it away from Ranth, but not all the way back to Vince. She eneded up slumped against a tree. In sight of the bodies of the women she had done such a good job protecting until now. She was too stubborn, she thought, for nearly anyone's good. Whatever Ranth was doing to people in that clearing, she didn't hear it. She didn't understand it. She was focused on what amounted to yet another failure on her part.

It was only three of them, but they were still three she couldn't save. Or hadn't in the first place. So she had failed someone else. And now her back was fucking killing her. And the mere two meters she had made it away from Ranth seemed like a marathon. She always ended up hurt and useless in these situations. She was going to have to be stronger, much much stronger, before she could take on anything else. She was tired of having to be saved, without being strong enough to return the favor.

It didn't take long after that. And she should have stayed awake, but it wasn't possible. She would closely resemble a dead body, slumped as she was against the tree, and with her eyes shut. She was so tired. She couldn't take much more. So she passed out, head back against the bark, unable to even properly defend herself. If Ranth didn't simply pass her by on the way by, it would be a small miracle.

It was unfair really, Ranth thought as he surveyed the victims that were now strewn about before him. He regarded them as victims rather than men because the difference between those who could wield magic and those who could not was so vast that they simply couldn't be compared using the same terms. Yet Ranth knew that he was a man, so then they must have been something else. Something less. Something inferior.Perhaps it was the steaming rivulets of blood that finally thawed him, or perhaps it was simply the fact that there was nobody left to kill and his vengeance had been sated, but in the blink of an eye Ranth returned to himself.

"What a waste", he sighed as he scratched the back of his head idly. "Someone should have taught them not to meddle with mages", he sighed again and shook his head with a mixture of amusement and bewilderment at how people could be so foolish as to take on a fight they couldn't win. Then again, he recalled many of them trying to flee in the face of his overwhelming battle power... he just hadn't let them go so perhaps it wasn't entirely their fault after all. But being too weak to flee was almost as bad as being too weak to fight he supposed.

Shrugging it off without a second thought, Ranth turned and began jogging back through the forest in the direction he'd sent Snow. He hadn't gone far when he spotted her and his heart skipped a beat as he took in how still she was. Dropping into a crouch beside her, he called her name but received no response. He checked for a pulse and found one, though it was far from hardy. She needed rest and recovery and not the sort that she would find here in this forest exposed to the elements. "You always know just how to make me worry Brightness", he grunted as he hoisted her onto his back and carried her away.

She might have stirred once or twice as he reunited with Vince and the handful of girls who remained. Some had died, slain by the men prior to his arrival. Others had fled and would have to fare for themselves in the forest... which was likely a death sentence anyway thanks to a combination of the weather, the creatures and the what Ranth expected to be a total lack of survivalist knowledge. Snow would have gone after them had she been conscious, but Ranth was not Snow and there was only one woman whose safety he concerned himself with.

So they left. Ranth, Vince, Snow, Mokra and two other girls who had the common sense to follow them. Once out of the forest, they found their ever faithful steeds waiting for them and from there they rode hard until first light all the way back to Sampaguitown where they were welcomed with open arms by the Sumires and Snow's wounds treated before being put to bed with a sleeping fraught that would ensure she rested until daybreak with Ranth ever vigil by her bedside. Though somewhere in the early hours of the morning, he too finally succumbed to sleep.

She woke up twice as she was carried. She could vaguely hear voices once, and she knew who it was that carried her. Her hands twitched holding on tighter monetarily even as she was frustrated by the fact that she was sinking back into the darkness of unconsciousness. Each time she did this, holding on slightly tighter, happy with the person who held her. She might have yelled at him, if she had known he was leaving others behind. She might have gone after them, if she had simply been able to stand. But she was, in truth, exhausted far more than she was injured.

She remembered a soft bed, and soft hands. Someone re-bandaging her wrists and tsk-ing over the many and varied bruises and injuries she had sustained her her short time away. Salve on her lip, on her her wrists once the dried blood was cleaned away. It stung. And she made a noise of discomfort, but it was not something which would make her cry out. She'd had worse after all. Then they made her drink something. It was bitter, but she knew what was in it at least. And that it would give her a peaceful and painless sleep. A little honey wouldn't have killed anyone, she thought as she downed the contents of the cup held to her lips.

Then she slept. She didn't know for how long. Only that she didn't dream, and it was peaceful. When she woke, she was quiet about it. She still ached all over but it was nothing compared to the absolute tiredness of the day before. She turned her head slightly, not that she needed to. A blonde head full of unkempt hair was laying on the bed, and she smiled a little. Whatever had been in that salve had worked wonders, as her lip was nearly healed completely. Just a bit sore. And her wrists, when she looked, wore thin bracelets of pink scar tissue. She turned over, putting her head close to Ranth's.

He looked so sweet when he slept. Odd, but in a good way. There was no one in the room, so she had time, for now, to be sweet, and she was. She kissed his forehead softly. She pushed his hair back gently to better see his face. "Oh my sweetheart," she said on a whispered sigh. She remembered his cold and calculating face the day before. How he had looked...Not quite himself. A frown creased her brow again, but only for a moment. She would be as bad, or worse, were the situation reversed. And she knew it. With the deep love she felt for him, she would be more than happy to kill anyone who tried to hurt him. It should have been a hard thing to accept. It wasn't though. Not for her.

"Not exactly a knight on a white horse come to rescue his lady...But you do a fine job just the same." She whispered it to his sleeping form, and then nuzzled his cheek, placing her face close to his.

She would drift back off for a bit, her hand on his, her face as close as she could get it without waking him. They had done this before. Long ago. In a different room, before she loved him. She wondered sleepily why he hadn't just climbed into bed with her, injuries or no. She would yell at him for it later, she decided. But neither of them would get much more rest. They did have a few things left to take care of. And people to make sure it was done properly. So their small time alone would soon be interrupted by a loud knock sounding on the door.

Ranth had no memory of falling asleep. His last memory was of watching Snow's sleeping form and resolving to remain by her side until she woke up. But when he found himself opening his eyes to the familiar sensation of a sleep cycle cut short, he groaned incoherently- the sound muffled by the blankets his head was buried in. Lifting his head and yawning widely, he found himself face to face with Snow who was now awake and looking at him like one might regard an adorably fluffy bunny. Ranth was not an adorably fluffy bunny and he forced himself to sit up with as much dignity as he could muster... which was difficult given that he had to wipe away drool from the corner of his mouth.

"So this has been quite an adventure for you, hasn't it Brightness", he said with a lopsided grin. "Did you sleep well?" he asked, reaching out and simultaneously brushing hair out of her eyes and stroking her cheek affectionately. He'd didn't give a second thought to his actions the night before, but even if he had he certainly didn't regret it and if anything, the only thing he would have changed would be the amount of suffering he inflicted upon the insects who had harmed the woman he loved. Their end had been mercifully quick and it was far more than they deserved.

To his relief, she was already looking hardier than she had the night before. A night and half a day of drug induced sleep plus the careful administrations of the Sumire house's personally physician had worked wonders on her injuries, though he remembered the old woman saying that she'd need a week of R&R. Ranth would cross his fingers that he could convince her to take it easy for one day, much less seven. Though even that small glimmer of hope would soon be snatched away as a knock came at the door and after a respectful pause, the door opened to reveal Alexandria and Mokra.

"Glad to see you're doing well", Snow's doppelganger said. She was no longer the scared looking girl dressed in day old clothes. She'd clearly gone through an intensive course to return her to looking every bit as noble as the blood that ran through her veins. She was dressed in an expensive looking blue dress, her skin scrubbed clean and then liberally doused with expertly applied makeup and her bearing straight backed and regal. "We can't thank you enough for what you've done", Alexandria chimed in, sounding as humble as Ranth had ever seen her in their short time together. "Which... is why it makes it difficult to ask for your help one more time", Mokra added.

"You've got your heir back, what more do you want from us?" Ranth asked petulantly and Alexandria bristled. "Not from you... from Snow", Mokra corrected him before turning her gaze to the bedridden woman. "Whoever was behind my abduction is still out there and after seeing how much time, effort and manpower that they were willing to put into it... it's highly unlikely that they're going to roll over and accept defeat. We need to lure them into the open and expose them once and for all if we're to bring this civil unrest to an end and restore order to Samapguitown", she explained calmly.

He woke up just as she was drifting back off. It was amusing for Snow, watching him try to remain dignified while he was at the same time wiping drool from his face. She smirked, which was far less painful than it had been before. "It was an adventure. I'm sure I've had worse though." She leaned into his hand as it brushed her cheek. She had missed him without really acknowledging it, even to herself. So if she closed her eyes as she leaned against his palm and quite nearly purred in satisfaction, she wasn't aware of it.

"You should have climbed in bed with me though. I woke up cold."The admonishment was slight, barely there at all. Yelling indeed. She was going soft where he was concerned. And she wasn't sure how she felt about that. She started to turn back the covers, as much of an open invitation as she could make. It was with a heavy sigh that she heard the knock sound and she slumped back onto the pillows. Of course they were never allotted much time alone now that she actually liked time alone with him.

The two women bustled into the room. Only one was familar to her though. She looked over the other and wasn't quite sure what to make of her. It was more annoying because she was suddenly aware, as people can often be, that they were here for a specific purpose. And this was small talk. Snow sat up slightly. "I'm still alive." was the terse answer. She quirked a brow at the woman. Snow made another face. She hated when people danced around, and went through the motions instead of getting to the point. She was mentally wishing they would just come out and say it.

They came close. Snow looked at Ranth. He wouldn't be very happy with her if she risked her health. She frowned. "I can guess what it is you need from me, if that helps. I spent a week and a little in a cell beside you Mokra. I don't know why you're dancing around the point, but I feel sure you should know I'm not enjoying this. Tell me what you want."

There was a look exchanged between Mokra and the other woman. "Its quite simple Snow. I need you to pretend to be me. Just long enough to lure out the man who did this. Then you will have settled your business with us at last, and you will be free to go." This was all said in what was nearly a monotone. Whatever respect Snow might have had for this woman went out the window. She was stating, quite plainly in fact, that her own life was worth more than Snow's own.

She groaned and sat up a little. She had been sent here for a reason after all. She had a mission as yet unfinished. She couldn't let that mar her thusfar perfect record within GH. So she looked at Ranth again. "Very well. I will do it. And you will owe your allegiance to my organization. Should they ever need you." Mokra looked back at the other woman for a moment, and it clicked for Snow.

The other woman was not simply a friend. She was Mokra's lover. Snow would have laughed, but she was still trying to figure out whether or not her own lover was on the verge of killing her. Which seemed highly possible. "My only other condition being that Ranth gets to help in whatever scheme this is, and if it doesn't meet his satisfaction, then it doesn't happen. Deal?" Mokra hesitated a second longer then nodded once decisively. A gown was thrown at the end of her bed, and she was instructed to dress and make her way downstairs immediately after via a passage hidden in the wall behind a rather large portrait of a rather large woman.

"Yeah sure. Just get out. I will be down in a moment." As soon as they left she swung her feet off the side of the bed. "Mind helping me out sweetheart?" She smiled, but it was slightly chagrined. He would have something to say about all this. She had no doubts about that.

Ranth knew that Snow already knew his feelings towards Mokra's proposed scheme to catch the mastermind that had been behind everything from the death of the former duke to the abduction of Mokra, Snow and all the other girls. He could not have possibly cared any less for the political doom of Sampaguitown or the suffering that its people would likely have to face as a result. Ranth had gone to great lengths to ensure Snow's safety. So the notion of turning around and then throwing her back into the lion's den was the height of idiocy from where he was sitting...

...Yet Snow immediately agreed to serve as the bait for this trap and Ranth grit his teeth, seething with impotent rage directed squarely at Mokra and Alexandria and this whole god forsaken city. "We have no business with them", he snarled and surged to his feet the moment they had left the room. "You were caught in their mess they were astronomically lucky that you were. We owe them nothing and they owe us everything", he hissed furiously.

"If anything happens to you because of this stupid scheme I will tear this place down and burn the ruins", he told her solemnly. This, he hoped, would be a sufficient kick to keep her from doing anything reckless. But when it came to Snow and doing what she felt was 'right' there was really no telling what she would or would not do. Then he sighed, suddenly the embodiment of weariness and exhaustion. "Of course I'll help...", he said with a wry shake of his head as he stepped close to her and with a few deft movements her clothes fell to the floor.

"Oh, I thought you meant help you out of your clothes", he smirked in response to the look she shot him as his eyes roamed over her. "Well... consider me significantly more motivated to be a part of this misadventure", he winked and pushed her back on the bed... Twenty minutes later Ranth emerged from the secret passage with an immaculately dressed (and slightly flushed) Snow right behind him where the two women were waiting for them. "So, share with us your brilliant plan", Ranth said almost eagerly. It was amazing what a little exercise could do for ones mood.
