"Uh...Alright." he would simply reply to Eric's plan to have his own room. "Wish I can have my own room..." Suna sarcastically joked. Jayce found it alot more fun to share a room and do cool dude stuff. But then again, the boy wouldn't have his own bed. -Understandable to Jayce at least. Jayce can well adapt to his own privacy for his daily enlightenment. Eric then shared information about himself. Not as innocent as he suspected. The dude straight out had that "mage-fighter" look. By the look of it, he could use knifes efficiently. Impressive. "Mm... I dunno. I'm not really a knife and dagger guy..." he would say semi-off topic. "But that sounds pretty bad ass." he would, smirking. "I, myself represent Blue Pegasus." he would say, lifting his hand shoulder height. Sand flurried over his palm for a few seconds before shaping into a small sandstone Blue Pegasus sigil. The sand magically hardened tightly to create it as a "trinket". As the trinket was finally formed, it fell into his hand. "I'm not your average BP member though. Heh." Clutching the sigil between his index and middle finger, he held it out for Eric's opinion. "I'm an artist and an adventurer." he would simply say. "Buuutt... I don't wanna bore you with my stories." would say with a light chuckle. "I suppose it looks like it's getting late so I guess we shall settle in and wait until midnight. " he waves, going off to the direction of his room. Entering the hallway, Jayce had eyes on the room five doors down. "Jayce. Don't you have that weird feeling that there's something about that "Eric" guy." Suna would bring up. While still midways to the room, he simply thought about what she said for a moment and didn't really see anything strange about him at all. Seems like any other mage to him. "If anything, he looks like he knows stuff." he shrugged. On the right side of the door was a white hand panel. Placing his right hand against the wall, the magical item scanned his hand. Under the panel was a device to collect the jewels for payment. Placing in 300 jewels, a card was printed out on the left of that. Then sliding the card on the device on the door, it opened. "All this new technology..." Edited by Jayce, Oct 26 2015, 01:17 AM.

Smiling easily and letting Jayce ponder to himself, Eric inclined a head as he mentioned Blue Pegasus then calmly but disinterestedly studied the small trinket that Jayce formed in his hnds. It was sandstone, that much was clear from the creation as well as the execution, and when Jayce called himself an "artist" it was all Eric could do not to just spit in his face and call it a day. He hated people who used that term, they were invariably idiots who missed things for the greater good or whathaveyou, but instead he simply let it lie and nodded his head. That was fine, he'd deal with it and if things got annoying later it wouldn't be hard to cut and run. Literally. Still, they seperated shortly thereafter with Eric agreeing to meet at this exact spot at the stroke of midnight. Rising he and Qui'Ran moved onwards to their hotel room, taking a rather long route to avoid being followed easily before entering quietly, nodding a greeting to the old lady behind the counter and then climbing the three flights of stairs to their room. Turning once they reached the door, they shut it quickly then pressed their ears against the door, listening. The footsteps they had heard until a moment before continued onwards for a moment, halting a few steps down and through the peephole Eric could see a tall figure in a long black hood retreating away as the door closed. They had thought themselves stealthy but they had been noticed some time before, and now it was a matter of time to figure them out. "So, thoughts on this Jayce guy?" Qui'Ran said from the nearby couch, lounging and chowing down on an apple casually, "His sand thing seems stupid as all hell - can I kill it?" Eric remained silent a moment longer before turning, leaning against the door and sighing slightly at his summons words. "No," he said with that kind of long-suffering tone he reserved solely for dealing with Qui'Ran, "You cannot. He seems fine, a little young and strongly idealistic but fine enough. He might be a liability later but he seems to have at least a relatively decent head on his shoulders for now." All it came down to now was to wait for night fall... and the inevitable conflict that would arise soon after. |

Settling into his new temporary room, he would lazily sit his gourd on the floor against his bed, following up by falling limp onto the comfortable sheets of it. "Our adventures never seize to rest, huh?" Jayce would say, voice muffed by his face being pushed into the bed. "You can say that again." It was such a slow trip getting to this end of Fiore. And yet, they already on the trail of another mystery. "And what's with that..that..-that kid he carries around with him all the time. The taller one seems to have manners while the other seems to have not! I don't like him'! " Suna begins. Of course, with Suna having a childish/mature mindset, her essence was probably thousands of years old compared to Eric's young cousin. Jayce sat up. "Suna, leave that kid alone." Jayce would argue, rolling his eyes. He reminded him of himself when was about fifteen year old. -That how most teenagers are. Taking off his shirt -revealing his muscular, gymnast six pack abs, he would approach the window to open the window to let some air inside. It was already dark thanks to the new welcomed fall season. The white crescent moon slowly moved into a glamourous sight -accompanied by a plentiful amount of stars. "We've been out all day so I'm gonna get some sleep. Wake me up if you hear or see anything suspicious." Jayce would say, lifting the comforter of the bed before sliding in. "*Sigh* Fine." the sand witch sigh, eyes appearing on the exterior of the gourd. Then, four hole had appeared at the bottom of the gourd before a single simple "leg" of harden sand extended out of each. Which then, made the gourd mobile for Suna to walk. "Yeah. Well... I'll be here...Waiting.." It not like Suna needs to sleep anyway. |

Night fell quickly and easily and Eric stood from his seat as he looked outside to see the moon shining happily high up above. It wasn't midnight yet, maybe 11pm or a little later he estimated from the moon's positioning, but that was fine by him. The season meant it was darker than it otherwise would have been which suited some of his purposes and he walked over to the bed where Qui'Ran was still playing his game, touching the boy-thing on the shoulder and alerting him. "It's time." Nodding, the summon stood up and pocketed his game system, watching for a moment as Eric put his book down and buckled on his shield and one of the swords he carried with him. The other had already been on his hip -he was never without at least one- and they left easily, calmly, quietly. Without a word spoken they returned to the café from earlier in the day, stopping at the seats they had been in earlier and standing for a moment, Eric letting his summon get accustomed to the scents that had gone past since they had left hours before and find the ones he needed. "Found them?" With a nod they set off, following the trail Jayce and his sand-thing had left earlier without even realising it. It was just a talent of Qui'Ran's - the ability to follow the living "scent" of a being and within minutes they were in front of the hotel room of the people they had agreed to meet tonight, jumping the gun a little but hey who cared. Knocking calmly three times, Eric waited until the door was answered before smiling slightly and nodding. "Hello," he would say simply, "The night is dark and full of terrors - I think it's the best time to begin exploring now, don't you?" |

*Knock, Knock, Knock* Came the three stern knocks on the door. "Hm? Is it that time already? Jayce has kinda been laying there...loudly..." The sand familiar grumbles to herself, skittering to the door. And with Suna's steps approaching their door, the door had illuminated itself (on her side) before becoming transparent. Apparently it was only transparent to the ones in the room. Looking upward at the taller figure before the shorter one, it was revealed that it was Eric and Qui'Ran waiting for them like they planned. "Oh look! It's Eric and the kid..." she says to herself with intriguingly before instantly expressing bland emotion. Skittering over to her partner, she stops at the foot of his bed. "Jayce! It's time go! Your friends are waiting for you outside!" she growls, stomping her sturdy leg against the carpet. It seemed all in a heartbeat when Jayce had awoken from his deep and invigorating slumber. Bursting awake with surprise, he half-sleepingly gets up to put his shirt back on. Suna's legs zipped back inside of the gourd, and the gourd was fixed to it's original shape before Jayce had grabbed the satchel-like container to wear on his back. Opening the door to Eric, Jayce had rubbed his eyes. "Oi. Sorry I wasn't ready. I traveled here from Sandzibar and I had to fit in some sleep. But anyway, let's start investigating." he would say, interlocking his fists before cracking them. Shutting the door, he would step out to cheerful grin at Eric. He gave Eric a certain weird look after seeing a tiny bit of his tattoo. "Sooooo. Are you in a guild or something? You definitely don't look Fairy Tail. -Never seen you around my turf.... I don't think you would be in Lamia and Cerberus seems a bit more likely. Are any of my guesses correct?" he would say interestedly as they would patrol the streetlamp-illuminated streets -hopefully together. But Jayce had stopped in his tracks as down the street, there was a black, ghost-like figure, looking right back at them -about ten meters down. Darkness and shadows had acted as it's legs and it's ethereal body hovered silently in place in the darkness with it's beady red eyes. Feeling a bit shaken up, Jayce had stepped back -bumping into Eric slightly. "I-it's a wraith?!" he would say, swallowing. And it looked like an awfully strong one too. As most wraiths are miniature ghosts or "images" of recently passed spirits. This one let off a very obvious ominous vibe. The autumn gust flurries which carried the one-to-three orange leaves across the streets was nowhere to be found. "That must be what is behind these "animal attacks" if you ask me..." He says, standing his guard to prepare for sudden movements. Though the wraith was hesitating and not attacking, Jayce was still prepared for it to dish out it's common, life-draining creature magic.... Though deep down, he was curious to see Eric's skills on their first enemy. Creature

[[OOC: That godmod though. He wears a bodysuit under his clothing, there's a 0% chance you'd see his tattoo in any way since it's over his heart...]] Eric smiled at Jayce's words -well, excuse- and simply inclined his head slowly at what was said. "It's perfectly fine," he said with a shrug, "I had no reason to sleep, I travel so much I'm used to it, though Sanzibar is some distance away." As they stepped outside though Eric quirked an eyebrow and chuckled a little at Jayce's words, for it was quite a random question to ask a stranger who had agreed to help you on your endeavours in a strange town, but Eric let it pass with a fairly easy answer, one he gave to most people who didn't know him or his summon on sight or by name. "No, no Guilds for me I'm afraid," his smile was easy and relaxed, casual and almost throwaway, his tone perfectly convincing of what he said, "I find the system somewhat flawed, the idea that I would need to bow to the whims of another set of rules beyond the Magic Council themselves is something I've never been a fan of, and the idea of company in a constant state just seems quite limiting to me, and I'm more a fan of freedom." That was actually pretty true for the most part - institutions disagreed with Eric most of the time and he was just lucky to have found somewhere that fit him. After a time of walking they stopped beneath a street lamp and stared at a tall, wraith-like figure before them. It was some distance away but evidently quite tall, taller than Eric at least though the fact it was floating off the ground was sort of cheating a bit, and its whole "I'm made of darkness ooooh" thing was sort of impressive, Eric supposed. It wasn't that great though, if anything it was almost overdone and he simply snorted softly, recognising the blurry edges of the thing as meaning it was quite weak in the grand heirarchy of wraiths and therefore unlikely to be the only or at least the only 'main' culprit of the attacks here, if even that. "It might be a culprit," he said softly, "But it's not a strong wraith, see how its edges are blurry and indistinct? It can't hold its form on our plane properly so it's using the natural cover of darkness to try and make itself stronger than it otherwise is. Quin, deal with it please." Smiling slightly as Eric clapped him on the shoulder, the boy inclined his head and walked forwards, whistling calmly. The wraith surveyed the approaching boy almost contemptuously as he approached, opening its "mouth" to prepare to drain the life out of the boy as he got within two metres. But by then it was too late. The wraith hadn't seen the exchange of energy between the man and the boy in the touch on his shoulder, though to be fair Jayce wouldn't have seen it either, so when Qui'Ran got within feet of the wraith he simply... exploded. Well, that was to say an explosion of energy burst out around him. There was no warning, just a sudden and rapidly violent surge of energy in a dome that went about five metres in each direction, charring the ground and destroying everything inside it without a care. When the smoke of the explosion dissipated Qui'Ran was already walking back, smiling slightly and the wraith? Evaporated. Expunged. Executed. Just plain gone. |

Ooc: Lol sorry i was looking at your picture on his profile so I felt the tip would have been able to slip out. No worries. Eric explained a bit about the wraith's true power. While Jayce does study creatures and monsters of the like as a hobby, he was surprised to know that Eric knew a bit of the subject himself. -As mentioned by Eric, the spirit was a bit weaker than Jayce had expected, so instead he simply had called upon his cousin. Jayce had a mental notion about Eric's cousin's safety and all since he was only a pre-teen who was adventuring with them in the midst of danger. So when Eric had volunteered him to take on the wraith, Jayce's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Wait. Your cousin?!?! You can't let him go up to that?!" Jayce would then argue. "-I say let the boy go. If it got that serious, then we can jump in." Suna would snicker from the gourd as Quin continued. -A remark that would make Jayce give her a scowl for her rudeness. But the boy was there before he could really have a chance to intervene. *POOF* Went the quick, bright explosion, creating black smoke and a mild gust that spread out in all directions which caused Jayce's to cover his nose and mouth area with his sleeve as his dreads dangled back from the wind. Jayce couldn't watch. After the brief disruption, the wind and smoke of the explosion had subsided, revealing the kid walking right back towards them. "-WHAT?!" Jayce would say in surprise. "-How pleasant..." Suna would say, rolling her eyes in sarcasm. As the boy arrived into their vicinity, Jayce was shocked. "Wait... How did you do that?!" Jayce would continue to say in disbelief, stepping around the boy for a quick examination. At first he thought he was just a regular kid, but it seemed not. The boy had some magic in em'. It seems like Eric likes to be on downlow with his past. "Okay. So just who are you guys." Jayce smirks while cross armed. "That is some A-Class wizard shit right there." He adds, furrowing a brow. Walking toward the charred spot on the ground, he looks downwards, and looks at Qui'Ran. "That's not normal. Haha." He chuckles. "But whoever or whatever you are, you're still cool to me." He grins. Jayce of course, has all kinds of friends, so Eric having more things he didn't know about was likely. Then, all of a sudden, two more similar sized wraiths had hovered down the streets towards them. "More?" The dark creatures accellerated as they were even more hungrier than before. But just where were they coming from?! The one on Jayce's right, targeted Jayce, and when it came in close range, Jayce thought fast on his reaction. Holding his right arm out to the side as it approached, sand had jumped off of his gourd, bubbled in a sphere under his hand before quickly molding and hardening into an axe. "Hrrnng!" He grunts, tossing the tightly packed sand weapon forward with a sturdy swing. As the axe spun with the sharp edge forward, it sliced through the body of shadows, causing it to wail in pain as it faded away. The other one, went around Jayce to target Eric and Qui'Ran. Eric and Qui'Ran shared a small look as the boy-thing walked back casually from evaporating the wraith in a show of power that could only realistically be called "ostentatious" if he was in the crowd of of a Mardi Gras. In this particular setting it was so over the top it wasn't even close to humorous and yet the boy-thing was considerably amused at how much power he had been allowed to show off. He was by habit a bit of a flashy fighter, large swinging claws and explosions of power all around him, and getting to rub in the faces of this boy and his sand baby how different they were in ability was so very satisfying to him. Eric however was slightly less amused, but he kept his face neutral and simply quirked an eyebrow, making Qui'Ran shrug marginally, far too small to see without eyes as good as Eric's. The issue now was the one almost immediately raised by Jayce - they were strong. Well, Qui'Ran was at the least and the boy simply grinned up at the Light Mage, his eyes twinkling. "It's nothing really," he said with a small shrug, "Just something I picked up back home from an old friend. Took a while to teach me and I don't have much else but it's nice huh? Works reaaaaaal well when I get the chance." Of course it was around then that the other wraiths Qui'Ran could detect nearby -thanks to his whole senses being attuned to a higher plane than humans- decided to drop by and make a visit. One went for Jayce and was attacked with some kind of axe made of sand, the other went for Eric and Qui'Ran, obviously not understanding that it was also now doomed for death. Eric didn't even bother looking at it as it approached, he simply waited until it was about to touch him before his hand moved. Faster than the eye could follow his sword whistled out twice, re-sheathed and Eric walking away from the wraith that had been cut into four pieces before you could even say "watch out". As the wraith dropped Eric listened closely to the sounds of the night, ignoring the dying groans of Jayce's wraith as it faded away and focusing instead on the sounds of bells, a sound that called wraiths from their graves with the call of the funeral bells that sent them below to begin with. "It sounds like they're coming from the West," Eric pointed away down the street and to the right, "Shall we investigate then?" |

After handling the first wraith, Jayce watched with intrigue as he saw the man hold the handle of his sword while sheathed, and all in one second, a white "x" slash mark was shown over the wraith -which the wraith in fact paused in a painful position, before wailing and fading away. It didn't even look like he moved in the first place. It was assured that this dude is also a very skilled swordsman. Jayce was stunned in awe and thought before responding to his suggestion with a slow nod. "Dude, you gotta show me how to use a sword like that..." He would say with a furrowed brow, continuing on with him down the direction of the bells. The further they got down the dimly lit street, the louder the sound of the graveyard bells had become. "Hey Jayce, I know this is a bit random, but whatever happened to that pompous Amanda girl?" Suna would bring up in whispers -only for the party to hear. "Her? Oh. I haven't heard from her in a while. She probably ended up in Hibiscus like I hypothesised. Such a hoodlum that one was..." He replies at the same tone. Reaching the end of the street, they met the graveyard, from which they could see a shadowy figure in the distance continuously ringing a silver bell hanging from a wooden post. They could also see more wraiths being drawn to him by the sound. "He's calling them to him... But for what?" Jayce would say aloud for Eric and Qui'Ran to hear. Swarming by dozens, they surrounded this mysterious figure. Not being too close to their meetplace, they luckily weren't spotted. "Yo, man. What do you think we should do?" Jayce asks curiously. He seemed to know more about these things than he does. Edited by Jayce, Jan 3 2016, 06:12 AM.
