Two nights ago... "These times are moving man! We gotta keep up wit' them ya know?" A middle-aged man in extravagant clothing waved his arms in urgency alongside what he just said. He sighed and hoped his partner would listen to him. "With this whole Demon Inquisition announced, it wouldn't be difficult to tweak a new story plot." The man paced in the small space of his tent as he was watched by his partner, an older man in plainer clothing who held a contemplative gaze as he leaned back in a chair. "Sure, that is sure. If you can bring in people, we can even set up the play for this week until our actual crew returns," the older man complied. In the lantern light of the tent, the older man looked relaxed in great contrast to the excitement of the younger lad. "But will ya take off that costume! You've been wearing it for hours now." "Oh right. It's just so comfortable though. So yeah, tomorrow I'll put up fliers and have the assists try to recruit. We'll probably need four people to fill in for now..." Present... Belladonna was huge. HUGE. TECHNOLOGICAL. Way more than what Lysus was used to, that was for sure. The girl walked along without really knowing where she was headed. She was too busy marveling at the sights as she crossed another one of the high bridges. Pale olives glanced back and forth, up and forward, in order to keep walking without missing anything. She needed food-- it was why she had entered deeper into the city in the first place-- but she had severely underestimated how distracted she was going to be. Yet despite all her wonder, most of the people, or at least the locals, had ignored her and gone about their days quickly, and soon she was left trying to find a place to eat on her own. It would be impossible to call out to someone for directions, what with her inability to speak to them, but maybe it would be possible to just follow a person and hope they end up where all the food hubs were. Her hunger was beginning to win out now, and regrettably she peeled her eyes away from the sights around her in order to focus on filling her stomach. It wasn't too crowded, but Lysus was still forced to keep her staff close. There was one unfortunate fact that was dawning on her after every step. The city looked like one of high wealth... Could she even afford a meal and a place to stay for the night!? Probably, but hopefully not by expending all of her jewels. Worried but still hungry, she continued though the streets. There were a couple of people at one corner who were trying to advertise for something, or maybe recruit, but she didn't realize what any of them said until she heard the words 'pay'. |

It hadn’t been long since the young Paladin had left his old home to starch out across the country of Fiore, little more than a few days had passed. Regwyn recalled there was a story about a man who ventured across the world to see everything he could only to die realising that experiencing was much more than seeing, this teaching seemed true at this very moment. “Wow, how big is this place?” Regwyn asked himself, having to take off his visor for a second to rub his eyes. The places he had visited so far were already beyond what he had expected, but he had never event dreamt that there would be somewhere so different than what he knew. “This is what a city looks like?” he asked himself, sitting cross legged on the side of a street glaring upwards. It was hard for him to believe that there were places so large that you could spend a lifetime looking through them, but from the fraction he had seen already he started to see that is wasn’t out of this reality. “I wonder how big these buildings are.” He said, sat with a single eye closed as he tried to size up the buildings with the gap between his fingers. He had been taught a few tricks growing up to help with this, however he quickly realised he had no idea simply due to the buildings blocking out both the horizon and the sun. “It’s big.” He said, nodding to himself in a matter-of-factly fashion before once again pulling himself up, using his sword to help him with the action. ***** It didn’t take long for Regwyn to loose himself further in the city, he kept finding niches to push himself into, new sights he had to follow and twisting and turning streets that seemed to curve their way through eternity. After doubling back twice, he found that he could never return to the point he started. The Paladin was well and truly dumbfounded with how large the city could be. Still he was in awe about how much there was to the world that he had never knew about. There was little that could pull Regwyn out of his childish like glee for the moment, but one or two things took point. Firstly there was an order from one of his superiors of the Paladin sect and the second was someone who was asking for help, honing in on the world as though someone had called his name out with an eerie clarity, the paladin’s head jolted around, to glare at a group of people not too far from him. While he was wanting to live life to the fullest, he would never let that overcome his drive and passion to aid his fellow man, without a moment of hesitation he set off to the direction the words were uttered from. |
