Appearance Physical Description: Even in a crowd, Adrien can find himself somewhat standing out because of a mix of appearance and personality. To most, he has a cold or challenging look as he stares you down with his golden eyes, which can almost glow in the pitch black of night. His teeth, surprisingly, are fairly white with his canines being, well, fang-looking. His charcoal-colored hair used to be somewhat wild and uncontrollable, symbolic of his aggressive nature, although years of keeping it contained beneath is bandanna and cap have forced it down. His face, what can be seen past his hair and eyes, has a definitive “sharp” look to it. These fascial features give him a somewhat predatory look, despite the fact he’s a full-blooded human. He possesses a somewhat slender, but well-muscled and masculine build like someone who has never trained to look strong, but lived a life that demanded it. His body has worked hard for most of his life, in fact, and the scars it possesses says that it has probably fought for most of it as well. His arms are particularly well-toned; a dead give-away that he values his own raw strength above most of his other features. Clothing: Adrien’s usual outfit usually consists of a thick, black shirt with the first few top buttons opened to expose a fair bit of his chest. It has several stud-like buttons that keep the rest of it closed and is topped off with a large, popped collar. He also sports a pair of grey, slightly torn jeans and a pair of black combat boots, handily equipped with iron-toe caps. His outfit is finished off with a red bandana wrapped around his head and sometimes even a black cap placed on top of that. Occasionally, Adrien also wears a pair of black gloves with metal studs along the knuckles. Accessories: Possesses an iron pendent held by a necklace around his neck. Although he doesn’t make this fact widely known, it’s his most treasured possession, affectionately referred to as "Beaonca." Extra: He has a variety of scars around his body, though perhaps the most noteworthy is the scratch-shaped scars on his left cheek. Picture: Adrien Personality Adrien’s greatest faults mostly lie in his personality. He can be cold, abrasive, and completely unreasonable when interacting with other people. He’s aggressive by nature and shows it whenever possible, and he’s always seeking ways to prove his value and strength. He won’t hesitate to challenge an opponent in any field, although he’ll mostly resort to some form of fighting. He’s an occasional compulsive liar, spinning a different tale for any story (or anything) he says. He’s a somewhat honest liar, at least, as most of his lies bear some fruit of truth. Deciphering his stories is like a puzzle: you need all the pieces if you want to put it together. ”Doesn’t matter… Anyone will fight for their freedom. Sometimes someones just gotta show them how…” Despite his many faults in personality, Adrien is surprisingly idealistic. Being a former slave, he greatly values his own freedom and will battle most fiercely when it is on the line. This belief is not only for himself, but others as well; he’ll sometimes go out of his way to “liberate” others he feels are wrongly oppressed or imprisoned. This results in him occasionally finding himself at odds with authority figures. He cannot refrain from going completely against what he’s told to do, almost to the point of obsession. This, as one would expect, can make him sometimes easily manipulative through reverse psychology. ”Show me your battle song!” Adrien, unsurprisingly, places a lot of value in other peoples’ strength almost as much as his own. He has a certain passion when it comes to punching another in the face, and frequently references such bouts as music. To him, fighting is an art form similar to music: everyone has a different way of expressing it, his is just dry, simple, and solid. He has a lot of respect for someone that can challenge him in battle, and proving themselves to him is achieved easiest by doing so. He’s not one to end a fight quickly if he’s having too much fun, even going so far as to risk his opponent gaining the upper-hand while he’s enjoying himself. ”Now an enemy you that you can’t fight back against…that is truly terrifying.” Perhaps Adrien’s greatest fear, aside from the loss of the freedom he values so much, is dying of sickness. Feeling like his whole life has been one raging battle for survival, an enemy that he cannot hurt with his own hands or magic is something he fears most. Survival Instinct – Adrien’s wandering has taught him how to fend for himself and live off the land to survive. Magic Magic Name: Iron Molding Magic Type: Elemental Manipulation - Iron Tier of Magic: Starter Rank: 1 Magic Description: Iron Molding allows the user to utilize a form of basic iron-manipulating magic. The user is capable of manipulating iron in a weak way, such as moving it or altering it into various forms for attack or defense. It involves the Mage creating simple iron objects using only their hands for combat. There are a few catches to this magic: the objects created by the user can only retain their shape somewhat effectively while the mage is in direct contact with them (ie. Must be “holding” the newly shaped object). Additionally, and most importantly, they require some sort of original source to shape the iron from. This process usually destroys most of the structural integrity of the object they mold which soon becomes brittle as it’s used. He's able to take forms of metal he finds in his environment to fuel his magic, if able, or he must use items he's collected in his inventory (such as weapons and equipment). Doing so, as one would suspect, results in the item being destroyed. It's also important to note since he is using an original source of metal to "shape" the object he chooses, he requires the original source's mass to be -somewhat- similar to the object he wishes to create. Most moves derived from this magic tend to be “one-off” moves and leave the caster mostly relying on their own physical strength in combat. The manipulations that come to be as a result of this magic tend to not be very strong or powerful, in or out of combat. More “advanced” versions of Iron Mold Magic, if continuously improved, usually only result in stronger, perhaps more intricate molds being formed which can also last a little bit longer; they still, however, wear out incredibly fast if used aggressively. Techniques: 2/2 Iron Mold Fist - I Type: Offence Range: Melee Effect: The user forms an iron glove around their closed first which is used to slug their opponent for a slightly harder punch. The iron created normally shatters upon impact, and does an added superficial damage on top of how hard the user would regularly hit someone. Duration: 1 post Cooldown: 3 posts Iron Mold Shield - I Type: Armor Range: Personal Effect: The user forms a six-inch radius iron shield around their wrist that can be used to block an incoming attack, resulting in lessened damage. The shield, in its weakest form, is immediately shattered upon impact. It is capable of blocking one weak strike before degenerating. MiT here. ・Well done on a first character. Welcome to the site. ・Your First Cut blade item is fine since you have measurements and an understandable, albeit bare, general description. In this case it is not necessary, but having more detail for such weapons would always be appreciated (such as color of hilt if applicable, if it's single-edged, if it's worn with nicks, etc. for an idea). Also, because of the way your magic is, you can include a written note in its "Effects/Functions" that you can use First Cut as a "source" for your iron-making techs, if you want. It's not an effect stemming directly from the dagger, but rather just a note that your magic can apply to it, so it'd still be D-Class. You don't have to do this if you don't want to since you mention it's iron. ・Your magic mentions needing outside sources to manipulate into your creations. I would like to ask for clarity on whether or not you can take metal/iron/steel/etc. that is just laying around in the environment, or if you are limited only to your own iron weapon/equipment. Since your magic is Starter, also make a note that you can not affect the iron equipment of other PC characters (I may be wrong on this; refer to a Lib or higher's judgement). ・ A point of information: Alternatively, if you wish and in case you weren't aware, Starter magic would allow you to conjure up the iron as part of a tech without needing an outside source. The way you have your magic right now is fine though, and you may disregard this point. ・ Another point of information: If you are using First Cut as your "ammo" for your magic, it sounds like the dagger will no longer be of use afterward. As a general rule at Character Creation, you are allowed 2-4 free items within reason. If you would like more blades or even to keep something like ores of iron in your pockets, doing so would be fine. ・An uncertain note of information: It is noted in your Clothing that Adrien has a bunch of little iron/metal stuff in his clothes. I am uncertain if those possibly being affected by his molding magic would need to be mentioned. Refer to a Lib or higher's judgement. Again, welcome to the site. Post in here once again after making edits or if you have questions/queries. |

-Alright, first off, thanks for taking a look at my app so quickly. I made the necessary clarifications to Adrien's magic which should be found in his Magic Description. I figured he can use outside sources of it and then rely on the sources he has in his inventory when necessary. -I'm not sure either about messing with other players' weapons and equipment (just gonna assume "no" on that one), but can I assume my character could eventually do so with NPCs' standard items? -Added some additional ammunition and gave them a little bit more of a description. Thanks for the tip. -I added some more clarity regarding the metal on Adrien's clothing. His magic requires the mass of the source to be similar to the mass of the object he's shaping (within reason), so it can be assumed that some iron studs from his clothes would not be able to create weapons and such. |

I agree with Fumus, nice first char. But going straight to the point. You really sure you want to use items to fuel your techs? its an interesting idea, but for what i could gather, it destroys the item after only one use (if not please do clearly specify exactly how many uses an item can withstand before being unusable). Either way, as i see the way you intend to use your own items to fuel your magic, i would suggest you in the future you bought the items in packs. By this i mean, buy something like throwing daggers, they can have the same size and item class, with the only disadvantage of being weaker at melee combat, but since that not what you intend to do with them its fine. Cause the way this magic look, it will cost a load of jewels to buy the items for it, and expendable weapons like throwing daggers are much cheaper than regular daggers. Hell, you can even just buy packs of iron bars for an even lower price. As for molding other people's items, it could be done but you would require a tech for that sole purpose, and it would have a lot of restrictions as well. At rank 2 it would probably need two uses to turn a class D item, and you would most likely need to be touching it with your bare hands. This kind of tech would fall under the same category as armor-breaking techniques which can be found in this link, so just take a look at it as a base for the tech you have in mind. Yeah, I considered this sort of Magic isn't the most powerful, but I don't intend to have my character use it all that often and based off his personality, I think it's fitting. I CAN use my own items to use this magic (I didn't know about the throwing knives thing, I'll definitely look at that in the future!), but if there's another source in the environment, I figured there's no reason he can't use that too, within reason. It does indeed destroy the item or any other "source" in the process of molding it. Molding other people's items (be it player or otherwise) was always a future technique as well. He won't be utilizing his magic in such a way until he gains that technique at a later time. I should have explained this in my last post. Anyways, is there anything else I need to specifically change/add at this point? |

This topic outlines starter magic rules. I cannot see anything horribly wrong to start with, other than the fact that you need to be aware that some portion of the above link, where it has the magic description, should be copied and pasted into what you already have.

Mmmkay, took care of that. Didn't realize it had to be more or less a literal copy-paste.
