"Well, I reckon its been a while," Tea said aloud, staring wistfully at the purple hues of the surrounding forest, "but its high time I got back to things!". Wearing a brand new (save for two lovingly crafted horn-holes) black stetson hat, Tealiin Kriegsire's enthusiasm was unmatched. After parting ways with a close friend, she had mostly stayed away from magecraft, working guild jobs only when absolutely necessary. Recently, Tea had remembered a certain deadline she'd set, and seeing as the date in question was fast approaching, kicked herself into gear. I've got one month till i'm gonna need help she thought, And right now I ain't got a friend in the world. A sharp pain shot through Tea's ear, and she smiled; "Well, I got one friend at least... Ain't that right Sendou?" Tea asked. From his perch atop Tea's stetson, Sendou the Bearded Vulture bit Tea's ear once again. Tea simply laughed; she'd begun to understand that this was Sendou's way of keeping her on her toes. With an affectionate squawk, Sendou re-positioned to Tea's arm, and Tea's smile only widened. "Reckon its been a while since we've gotten to scout, right?" Tea asked, Sendou simply staring impatiently in response. While they weren't technically on official business, Tea couldn't help but remember her early adventures nostalgically. Wandering through the woods, training whenever she could, running from poachers on a mountain...Tea sighed, the final memory snapping her out of her reminiscence. That adventure had gotten her scheduled for a grudge match atop a mysterious peak--one that she couldn't possibly win alone. Course, that's why i'm out here; I just gotta confirm these here reports of some creepy demon cult, and I'll get on this town's good side for reportin' them. Then I just ask around, and i've got me a team! Satisfied in her own plan, Tea pulled out a map of the Lavender Forest. Studying it briefly, Tea turned to the expectant Sendou. "Ya'll should head north, and take pictures of as much as ya'll can. I'll scout the outskirts, see if I can find any evidence of trails leading into this here forest proper." Tea said. Sendou understood "north" and figured out the rest from experience; wasting no time, he flew off. Tea could hear the clicking of his camcondor magic, and nodded. He turned off the flash, I see; he really is clever ain't he? Tea thought. She shook her head; as much as she'd have liked to rely purely on Sendou, her opponent was too dangerous for just the two of them to take on. Tea set out; it was time to make some new friends. Jason walked through the lavender forest; his mind at ease. He had just finished a deal with the local merchant guild, extending their old aragment that said the merchant guild would import all of Jasons alcohol products in for him, at a price of course. Jason had taken Hibiki with him, as last time he had gotten in a fight with one powerful dark mage known as Darion. Jason sighed at the memory, why was he always almost dying? Just recently a fire mage had burned him pretty badly, and he had fought with a quite powerful TO mage from Tartaros. In his time of deep thought Jason had remebered some painful memories, but he also remembered the friends he had made through such experiences. Jason sighed once again and continued on his path back towards town. When Hibiki interupted his reminiscing. "Jason you shouldn't get lost in thought, what if the lady infront of us was some sort of danger?" Jason looked up and noticed a strangely hairy lady who had horns, intresting. Jason just grunted at Hibiki and her worrying, she tended to be paranoid ever since Jason told her of his exploits. "Jason take this seriously, I'm tired of hearing about how you got the shit beaten out of you by some cultists, and I don't want to have to heal you everytime I see you, ever since you met that Jaxus guy you've been getting into all kinds of trouble I think-" Jason cut her off. "I think you need to calm down, and need to keep and mind that before I met Jaxus I was a professional killer" Jason wasn't angry, he valued Hubiki and her opinions, she was his oldest friends, almost like family. Jason focussed his attention on the lady infront of him and spoke, even tho she was kind of hairy he couldn't stop himself from flirting, it was like second nature. "You know, this is my first time seeing a forest spirit, you're more beautiful then the stories say" Jason knew she wasn't a spirit or anything, he just needed a pick up line, and that one seemed appropriate. As Jason continued to study her the thought of her being a spirit became less and less obscure, she was kind of animalistic in some sort of way. Jason didn't mind appearances that much, well he did but he wasn't mean, besides the girl was pretty, just furry. Jason waited for the stranger to respond, hopefully she wouldn't prove to be an enemy... |

Tealiin wouldn't have known a proper flirt if she'd heard one, and she was distracted enough wherein she only heard part of what was said. "Oh, so this is a spirit's forest?" She asked aloud, not overly concerned with where the question came from, "I reckon that explains why them cultists are supposed to be here!". It had been quite a while since Tea had tracked, and though the basics were still ingrained Tea found herself under-performing and losing focus easily. There were three possible trails used to enter the forest that Tea had found: the first, she stepped on; the second turned out to be hers; and she was now at the third, talking to voices who's source she hadn't even bothered to consider. Dang; I bet ol' Sendou is doing just fine too Tea thought. She returned to her work, noting that while some effort had been put into concealing the path, this effort was the most incriminating and obvious part of the path; Tea decided that the boot marks from the kicking of dirt were more obvious than whatever they'd been trying to hide. She chuckled; Sendou ain't getting ahead of me that easy she thought. Remembering that she'd been in something like a conversation a few seconds ago, Tea turned around. There stood a man who was a few inches taller than her, with a relatively well maintained physical build comparable to her own...and next to him "stood" a white and purple slug. Tea looked at the pair curiously, and finally spoke up; "Ya'll wouldn't happen to be cultists, would ya? I reckon I need to go beat some up." Tea asked innocently. They had seemed to know that the forest was somewhat spiritual, and though Tea had become a fair bit more in-tuned with these things after her Mountain Adventure, she hadn't suspected a thing about it; their knowledge alone wasn't enough to be suspicious of, but certainly enough to be worth asking about. With an angry "squaaark", Sendou landed on Tea's hat, emerging from the forest before anyone had a chance to realize what was going on. Tea smiled. "Oh, so you found em?" Tea asked, to which Sendou squawked triumphantly. Edited by Anta, Mar 6 2015, 05:12 PM.

Jason raised an eyebrow at the furry lady in front of him. She talked kind of weird, and referred to Jason as yall, as if he was multiple people. Jason just scratched his head when she blatantly asked him if he was a cultist, odd considering the cultists were trying to hide. Jason thought about the falcon that had just came out of no where, and whom the furry lady asked if it had found 'them'. The bird seemed to understand her well enough, as he squawked in confirmation. "Well, to answer you question, no I am not a cultist; but if you are looking for them how could I not help?" Jason asked then continued. "The names Jason, Jason Light of Blue pegasus; and of course as a resident of this town it is my duty to help fight the oh so evil cultists; also how could I say no to a pretty girl and her...bird?" Jason shrugged and almost completely had forgotten that Hibiki was there. "Wow Jason, just when I thought you had gained some form of manners you go ahead and flirt like a pig, then forget to introduce your companion; since you are still learning I'll do it for you, my name is Hibiki and I am like Jasons keeper" Jason gave Hibiki a sideways look, he hated when she scolded her in front of people like that. Hibiki knew this to be a fact; and did it intentionally. When Jason had asked her to stop she said "if you want me to stop, then stop giving me things to scold". Jason almost lost his temper at the memory of that conversation. Some may view Jason and Hibiki's relationship as that of a mothers and her children, but in truth they had known each other a reaaally long time, since Jason was little; she'd stuck with him through thick and thin, hell she even stayed with him when he left the church. Jason and Hibiki were really good friends, and that's why they put up with each other, because for the longest time they were all the other had. "Nag nag nag, it just never ends with you does it?" Jason asked arching his eyebrow at her. Hopefully Tea didn't mind their bickering.... |

Tea smiled, and looked at Sendou grudgingly; Thanks to him, she was more than familiar with bickering the sort of bickering that was going on before her. Despite not being able to speak, Sendou was more than smart enough to convey simple ideas;Sendou's most commonly conveyed idea was "I want to peck your face" which he conveyed by pecking Tea's face", but he would occasionally show displeasure and affirmation as well, the latter of which he'd just shown with a triumphant squawking. Tea had been so focused on musing on the parallels between her and Jason's relationships with their pets that she'd completely missed what Hibiki had been saying about flirting, and thus continued on as though Hibiki and Jason had only introduced themselves. "You two fellers are with Blue Pegases? Pleasure ta' meetcha both!" Tea said extending a handshake first to Jason, then to Hibiki. At some point, she'd just decided that Hibiki the talking slug was completely and totally normal, and probably a fellow Mage. ya really never know with wizard's, I reckon Tea thought, smiling as the memories of the many strange people she'd met flooded her mind; It certainly was good to be back. "My name's Tealiin Kriegsire from Lamia Scale, and this here's my partner Sendou." Tea said, introducing herself and her pet Vulture. Sendou now wore an identical miniature stetson hat, so it wasn't as though their connection wasn't obvious, but introductions were the polite thing to do. "So, Jason, you Pegasi are hunting down these cultists too?" Tea asked. If they were, this meant that Tea could start building alliances outside of just the towns and her guild; having more mages on her side would surely give her an edge in the battles to come. "My friend here may have just found a trail or a path these cultists might be using, so I reckon we could start there if ya'll is interested in coming along." Tea explained. With a flick of her wrist, Sendou perched on a nearby tree and opened his mouth. Instead of the usual bird noises, the whirring of some sort of machinery could be heard coming from his mouth. Tea quickly cleared off the rocks from some of the dirt trail, doing her best to provide a flat and clean area for Sendou. With a "Click!" Sendou's mouth projected light upon the area Tea had prepared, and then the light formed into a black and white image of the lavender forest, as seen from a bird's eye view. Tea's face was one of smug satisfaction; the reactions to the idea that her pet bearded vulture was capable of magic varied, but they were always something Tea looked forward to. Turning her attention both to her new friends and to the image before then, Tea spoke; "Sendou," she commanded, "Ya'll found something good right? Show us!". Sendou squawked with delight, and the images began shifting; after cycling through several pictures of animals he would have found tasty to see how Tea would react (She simply looked at Sendou in a way which made it clear that his continued trolling would cost him a treat, which satisfied his curiosity) The images finally stopped cycling. There was now a black and white picture of what looked like a small campsite, and several robed figures standing about it. "...That's better than a path, i'd say" Tea said, thoroughly shocked. Pulling three bone marrow cubes from her pouch, Tea rewarded Sendou with the snacks some head-scratching, but then her expression turned serious. She'd recognized the robes from the newspapers; these people definitely part of the same cult that was behind the recent demon attacks, which meant they were likely not pushovers. Brushing her own concerns aside, Tea turned back to her companions. "Well, is ya'll ready to knock some heads?" she asked. ----------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, the three robed figures from the photo were spread around the area. "Any sign of it over there?" asked the first, more concerned than intimidating (though not for lack of trying). "Who cares? The boss is gonna end us if we cant prove we succeeded like we said we did!" mourned the second (unsuccessfully holding back tears. "Don't worry you two! Its a Demon; its not exactly going to be hard to find, right? just look for fire and stuff!" the third said hopefully (her optimistic tone only slightly hampered by her fear of the group's failure) The three searched on, unawares of what was coming, and all fearful of what would come if they failed. Jason pounded his fist into his palm. "Oh I'm ready, let's get started!" Jason stated sarcastically. He didn't enjoy fighting, and frankly he was tired of this inquisition business, but he would still help our where needed. Hibiki rolled her eyes in response, did she have to correct everything he did? "What he meant to say was that it'd be an honor to fight alongside you, right Jason?" Hibiki's tone was filled with false love, and underlined with threats. "Uh yea, whatever you say Hibiki" Jason responded, which was not a good life decision. "Jason, how are you going to go from flirting with a girl to being an ass hole? Do I have to get you checked for Bipolar disorder? I know you don't like fighting, but I told you a million times how important your contribution is to the inquisition. You aren't fighting for the sake of fighting anymore, you're fighting for the populace, the good of the country" Hibiki lectured, trying to reassure him. She really did know him well. "Yea but why do I have to fight for the country? Why can't somebody else play the hero for awhile, I mean seriously I already saved Poinsettia from Marco and his fucking goons, can't somebody else get this one?" Jason sighed, he really shouldn't have been complaining. After all he had come out here looking for Cultists. "What ever, let's just get this over with" Jason sighed and motioned for Tea to lead the way. Hopefully the cultists wouldn't be that much of a challenge, the last thing Jason needed were more scars from fights with cults. Jason followed Tea towards wherever the cultists apparent camp was, he really wasn't eager to go in first. Jason didn't have the best of luck when it came to cultists, most of them had nearly taken his life. Hopefully this time would be different..... |

Interestingly enough, Tea had absolutely zero experience whatsoever with cultists, and had only learned of the so called inquisition from the papers a day ago; even then, her knowledge of the situation was fuzzy at best. I guess some demon summoners got everyone worked up or somesuch she thought, smiling. Maybe I ought to thank them; ill have this town eating out of my hand in no time, what with all the ruckus ill be solving! Realizing her this thought was somewhat uncharacteristically...sinister, Tea quickly shifted her focus to the task ahead. Sendou had located the enemy camp, and she'd located some allies; all that they could do for now was make their way there, and see if there were any more leads they could follow. Tea was relieved that she'd found help (though she wouldnt have been, had she listened to more than half of what Jason and Hibiki had actually said), as she honestly had no idea what to expect from cultists, or the demons they'd probably summon. As the party walked through the woods, guided by Sendou flying above, Tea mused on why this was. Normally I'd have gotten here a while ago, looked around, saw the terrain even before offering to help She thought; she remembered that she'd spent a few days getting used to mount Gillamancaro before stalking random tourists for practice, and couldn't help but smile. heheh, that was pretty fun, if not something i'd ever do again she thought. Tea's nostalgia quickly faded as they arrived at the campsite. Sure enough, there had definitely been people here...about three of them; their were three very obvious indents in the dirt where they'd presumably slept. Tea nodded to herself. Still got it afterall, I reckon she thought, making her way to the campfire. Upon holding her hand over it, Tea stopped smiling. "Hibiki, Jason, Sendou!" she addressed, with just a hint of nervousness in her voice, "Be careful; This here firepit is still warm...and not covered properly--" Tea paused to push dirt over the area-- "So these here cultists are probably still close." ------------------------------------------------ "Guys, Guys!" said the chipper optimist of the three black robed figures, "I think I found the demon!" This immediately got the attention of the other two. They huddled, and whispered, formulating a plan...And then got into position around the campsite. All three were prepared...but wouldn't strike just yet. Edited by Anta, May 27 2015, 12:07 AM.

So they found the cultist camp, great. Only problem was, the lack of cultists. Tea mentioned how they may be close, she sounded scared, was she new to this? Either way Jason didn't plan on just sitting around and waiting for the cultists to return, he'd make them come out. "Hold tight, I'll send my clones down there to draw them out....." Jason spoke in low tones, his voice was the same as always. Jason knew that for new people things like confrontations could be scary, he didn't need to add on to her worry. Jason activated his spell, and two clones identical to him formed from speck of light. They made their way down the hill, towards the fire pit. Botht eh clones grabbed a handful of hot coals and embers from the pit. Being magic constructs they couldn't feel things like hot or cold, which made them rather useful against elemental mages. The clones moved the embers towards the tents, and placed them on the cloth. Fire. Smoke from the burning tents spiraled into the blue sky, hopefully the cultists would notice the smoke from their little camp burning. The clones began to throw stuff about, making as much noise as they possibly could. Jason would order them to scream, but they didn't have vocal cords. "This should draw them back to the camp, we can launch a surprise attack from here" Jason explained, hoping Tea had no obligations. "But Jason, we don't know how strong these guys are yet, and you haven't had the best of luck finding the weaker opponents. Don't you think it's a bit risky bringing them to us?" "Even if they are stronger then us it'll help if we get the drop on them, also their base is on fire, so I'd say we have the advantage" Hibiki sighed. She really hoped this would work..... |

Tea frowned; why hadn't she thought of that? Because ya'll were hoping to ambush them in the forest somewhere, rather than out here she decided, convincing herself of this lie almost immediately after thinking it. Sendou, annoyed by the smoke, landed on Tea's shoulder, and squawked angrily. She didnt say anything, but Tea shared his sentiments. Tea was going to complain, but stopped herself; she needed their help now, and if she stayed on their good side then she'd win some obviously powerful allies. "That there's a cool sorta magic" she complimented instead, tipping her hat as much as her horns would allow. "I reckon that in different circumstances, i'd be a mite bit jealous". Tea's smile returned with her teasing, and she looked around the camp. the burning tarps would draw the cultists to them, surely, but this didn't leave them much room to hide; the cultists could return from any direction, or multiple directions, appearing from out of the forests into the clearing. Tea sighed; their enemies had a distinct advantage. Except that Tea's party knew how many cultists there were, and the cultists probably didn't know how many mages they'd be up against, and the clones would definitely throw them off. Tea smiled, and then smiled a bit wider. Yep, totally still got it she thought. "Jason," she started, her tone more controlled and calm than before, "While yer copy fellers are causing a ruckus and makin' us look like we've got the numbers on them, me and sendou will try to take them by surprise-- if they hesitate, we can get the jump on them, and you two can follow up and take them out no problem" Sendou understood her meaning, and squarked happily, knowing that he'd be away from the smoke soon. Tea nodded, not waiting for Jason or Hibiki's response and with a deep breath activated her magic. Her body enveloped in a soft, pain nullifying glow, Tea's muscles and tendons shifted under her skin at her command. Her fur grew more prominent, spreading across her skin, while her hands shifted into hooves. she visualized the animal that she had so much in common with-- The Mountain Goat-- and felt her arms and legs mimicking the appearance of the animal's corresponding limbs. The glow faded and Tealiin, standing comfortably on all fours just a foot under her normal standing height, was now covered in fur with her horns positioned idealy for lethal attacks. She smiled. Researching mountain goat physiology had turned out to be a very good idea; as a Physique Mage, Tea could simply rearrange her innards and copy the shape almost completely. Without warning, she darted off into the woods, followed by Sendou, to await the cultist's move, during which she'd attack from behind. A minute and a half after she'd left, three fearful cultists attacked, launching spells while searching frantically for any sign of a demon's taint... ((OOC: I need these cultists alive, if that's ok; if you'd like, feel free to bring in other cultists or plot points; the more the merrier.)) |
