Seeing the incoming cultists, Hex hissed in fright and hopped up onto Syeena's shoulders as they quickly began to run. They were heading back to the main meeting room where the cathedral like structure was, decored to worship their demonic masters. As they left he passageway, Syeena exquipt another one of her cards! Drawing the Emperor card, she quickly turned and swung the card forward. It flew into the passageway, the cultists about 20 or so meters behind them. While still running, Syeena picked up speed and grabbed hold of Emi. "Get down!" SYeena warned and Hex covered her ears, knowing what was about to happen. KA-BOOM!!! The tunnel erupted with fire, dust and smoke. The cultists' screams were eclipsed by the blast as the tunnel collapsed and the fire burned them to ashes. Syeena's card-- The Emperor-- contained powerful Fire Magic that exploded with violent force like a bomb. Rising up from the ground, Syeena looked to see that passage had been sealed, but there were others-- and sounds were coming from all of them. The cultists were coming. "So... you are with her? What a disappointment," Augus' voice spoke out. Syeena and the others turned to find the man at the front of the room. He seemed casual but sighed with regret. "YOu should of stayed on our side, Temperance. I wouldn't think someone who worked with demons would turn against us. Regardless, I'm sure you can imagine what we do to traitors... but you would be wrong," he said with a sneer. "Hey!" Hex shouted-- the cat now low at the man's feet. Having been unaware of the cat, he looked down to see the black cat wave a paw at him. "Surprise! MREOW!!" Hex suddenly jumped up and released a dazzle of magic power! Halloween symbols-- pumpkins, bats, spiders, moons-- all went dazzling over Augus and temporary blinded him. He waved a hand to clear the air of it but it was not that kind of attack. Hex had jinxed the cult leader. A form of magic that weakened and caused bad luck for her enemies. Right now he now was far slower and couldn't see as good as he could before. "Today ain't your lucky day!" Hex cheered as it now left an open for Emi to attack as well. |

Emi was running when she found Syeena running past her ans actually grabbing her by the arm, as if to insensitive her to run faster. And it seemed that there was a good reason for it as moments later an explosion occurred, causing the ceiling of the corridor to collapse. This was good as at least it meant the cultists couldn't come at them from that side, but then again, the the only way out was thru there, then everyone on this side was screwed. But Emi tried not to think too much on the negative stuff, the explosion gave then some room to breath and that was something to be grateful for. Then a guy appeared in from of them. He seemed to have actually been waiting for them to arrive, and Emi remembers seeing him back when she and Hex feel from the vents, so this was either the first room or this man was really good at guessing how things would end. The man began to talk with Hex's friend, and Emi didn't really understand much of the reasons. She did notice Hex slowly making her way to the man. Emi did not say anything but she got ready for anything, and seeing a piece of rubble standing next to her, Emi positioned in orther to help Hex. The moment Hex attacked the guy, Emi was ready, and as soon as Hex got out of the way, Emi kicked the piece of rubble into his direction. Still her aim for ranged attacks was never the best, so the rock was going to hit the man in the chest. However what happened next was lucky and strange. The man tried to swat the rubble aside, but instead he landed the hit with an odd angle and all he managed to do hit it in, an odd angle was to change, the projectile's direction was changed from his chest to his face, and was actually also spinning with great force. Losing balance the man walked backwards and managed to step precariously on another piece of rubble, which caused him to trip, and land with his head one yet another piece of rubble. "Wow! :O", said Emi surprised by what her kick did. The man staggered as he got back up incredulous at what had just occurred. Edited by LibertyGear, Mar 27 2015, 03:16 PM.

It was a surprise that Emi's attack did so much damage! The cumulative effort of both Emi's support magic and Hex's debuff powers turned the fight in their favor as the force of the attack left the man reeling and flying back. Syeena was glad it happened but was not about to relax and celebrate just yet. She knew he wouldn't go down so easily. What was worse, they were now being ganged up on. (Yes they were in the main room again). More and more members entered the room and were now circling them. They were severely out numbered, and Syeena was running out of cards to use for an attack. She had used the Emperor card and it was the only one she had for wide area attacks. Pushing himself up, Augus glared at them. "There is no escape. YOur lives are forfeit for coming here on your own. " He snarled, the cultists coming in closer for them. Syeena glared at her surroundings as Emi and Hex were forced to back up into one another. It was then that Syeena remembered one thing-- the card Agil gave her for a single use. He said it was a one shot card but it it had considerable strength. It was the last card she could play that would help them now. "Hex, fox girl-- stay close to me and don't move,' Syeena warned them, causing Hex to look up at her. Reaching out a hand, she exquipt her next card! Unlike the instant change, this card appeared in the air just above Syeena's head. It fluttered down spinning lightly, revealing The Judgement card. It glowed with a gentle light as it stopped right before her hand. "Light of the heavens-- descend and pass judgement upon the wicked." she spoke softly, then gripped the card, only to throw it up into the air high to the ceiling. The card flared with magic as power began to gather in it. "PERSONA!!" Syeena shouted and made a crushing gesture with her hand, reaching out for the card overhead. THe card cracked and suddenly, bright light streamed out of it! The cultists reeled back by the intensity as light busted out, consuming the place around it. Where the card had once been, a brilliant angel-like creature was there. It extended its arms and spread its wings. With that gesture, holy light swept outward, casting it upon every inch of the room. THe cultists screamed as the light injured them! IT was surprisingly intense, and Syeena and the others had to close their eyes. The light was designed to be LETHAL to demons, as in effect, those who used demonic powers. Those possessed by demons-- the demons were burned out of their victims and the half demons and demons were quickly burned. This was the power Syeena had to look forward to when she earned the power of the Judgement card. A mighty force-- and right now way out of her price range. As the light soon faded, the entire room had been demolished! The demonic statues were broken, the decore shattered and the bodies of dead demons and cultists scattered around the room. The large angel, and the card it came from had vanished completely, leaving Emi, Hex and Syeena the only ones standing. |

Well as much as that was fun, they were still pretty much in the lion's den. So they ran into the nearby door as to at least try to funnel the incoming crowd. Once inside Emi prepared to face their attackers, when the woman that was with Hex called out and told Emi to stay close and still. Emi didn't understand at first, but once she started to chant something, Emi realized something big was probably going to happen so she decided it was best to follow. And good thing too, cause what happened next was nothing short of spectacular. Explaining what happened would make no justice to it... well actually the light so so intense that Emi couldn't see half of what was going on, but the long story short was that the woman took out every cultist, that had chased them down to that room, single handed. When it was all over, there was nothing much left of the room, other than its walls, luckily. Still, they were still not out of the woods just yet. With the shortest path out of there having been caved in, they now needed to go thru the other way, which considering it allowed that many cultists to get to them, would most certainly mean that it led to the center of this hideout. This was both bad and good new. Bad cause that area was most likely the heaviest defended area, and good news cause they needed to go there anyway to shut this down permanently. And ultimately, Emi and this woman just took out a very large number of cultits, how many could there be left? "That was awesome! I would ask you to do it again, but we need to get moving.", Emi said to Syeena, "It will only be a matter of time until reinforcements arrive, and we don't want to be inside this room when they do." Emi went ahead and peeked out into the corridor. No one was there... yet. Blue flames covered Emi's body momentarily as she used Re-Ignite to refresh Inner-Fire. At this point Syeena and Hex, mostly Hex, should have noticed the difference in Emi's size when compared to when they first met. Not to mention she sounded way more reliable. "We should move... now!" |

Hex gave a whistle of being impressed. The cat looked around at the damage Syeena caused. "Wow... Agil's little present really came through for us. Guess I can't mock him too often... Don't you dare tell him I said that!" the cat said, breaking the silence around them. The place was completely clear of cultists now and the headquarters was in shambles, but Emi had a point. If there were enemies nearby, they would check on what happened. If they were discovered and still there, it wouldn't be pretty. Despite Emi's new size, Syeena paid it no mind or didn't seem surprised by it. Hex soon hopped onto Syeena's shoulders once more and they were ready to go. "Agreed. let's see if we can find a path leading out. " she said and went for one of the open passage ways! The tunnels below webbed out. The one they had collapsed was the one that Syeena had personally came through with Augus. Now that it was blocked, they would have to find another avenue out. They soon came to a three-way path. The center path led to a spiral staircase and the two other side passages led left and right, perhaps leading to another opening but it was unclear. "Any idea which way to pick?" Hex asked , anxious to get out from the underground. |

Glad to see everyone was on the same page. Making way out of that place the group came to a zone where the path split into three different directions. The question now what, which one lead out and which one was just another way around the hideout. If all were a way out then fine, but of course the reverse was also a possibility. And being stuck on an underground maze was not something that Emi would enjoy for sure. Picking at luck was also not the best option. But they couldn't just stand there for too long. So left corridor, right corridor or center stairs. "Well. The stairs as as good a pick as any other, and at least they are already heading up so...", Emi decided and made her way to the stairs. The stairs were large considering the reduced space there were confined to. Still it was easy for three people to use them at the same time side by side, although it wouldn't be a fun endeavor for the one on the center side, side the stairs there were tiny. They had a lot of detail, specially carvings that went up all along the handrail. The carvings were mostly worn down, but Emi could easily distinguish a lot of skull in them. It was weird considering they had come from a casino, so if this led to the same place, the cultists should have sued the designer of their hideout. Of course this meant little if they did not escape the hideout, and boy did this stair did not make it easy. Emi's guess was that they had picked the right way. Why you ask? Cause they were climbing for way over five minutes when Emi finally decided to break the silence. "So... I'm Emi, nice to meet you. :3" |

It was obvious there was little time to truly escape, so the path leading up was a good option to go! Guiding them Syeena took for the stairs. Hex hopped off and took flight with her black wings as they ascended the spiral staircase. They could hear voices below them-- meaning they picked the right passage to get out. It felt like they were running for minutes, ascending up an endless spiral. But then they saw the daylight ahead. Syeena ruched through it and got out! They emerged back on the busy streets of Trillium. They had emerged right off from a small alley in between several shops. A common area for people to dawdle through. Syeena let out a sigh of relief. "We made it," SYeena sighed and rested against a wall. Though it was a rocky exit and leave, they had dealt a blow to the cultists, one that Syeena could be proud of and that they wouldn't be bothering Agil's bar and business again for a long time. "Name's Syeena. Nice to meet you Emi," Syeena breathed as they could finally relax. Hex soon landed on the ground near Emi. They had won and they could finally relax. (Wrapping up for the end) |

Emi's greeting was immediately replied but not by the ones next to her, but by the sun light coming from the exit. The woman raced off towards it, with Hex behind and Emi quickly following. Getting out was incredibly satisfying, it was no longer night like when they entered the casino in the first place. Which was an indicator of how long they were really inside, although Emi suspects that at least half of the time they were underground was just the stair climbing. Those stairs were seriously never ending, or so Emi thought a few times during the climb. From where they were now it was pretty easy to see that people were already up and about their business on the city, as the crowd moved with great intensity on the street to where the alley led to. As Emi leaned against the wall to rest, the woman finally introduced herself as Syeena. "I remember you now!", replied Emi as she slowly got down to the floor, "You were the one that was with Hex in that bar. Who would have guessed we would get such a crazy night! XD" The three of them were clearly exhausted from the experience, but they had been successful in dealing with the cultists, so even this close to the exit they had come out from, Emi could still be sure that no cultists were going to come out to ruin their rest. That and the stairs were really noisy so if anyone was using that exit, everyone would know of it. Which meant two things, either there were no cultists to chase after them, or they were afraid to do so, which were both good options. Still just to make sure, Emi got up again, grabbed a nearby large trash container and used it to block the exit. Finally Emi dispelled Inner-Fire and returned to her normal size, leaning against the container and this time really sitting down. She was tired, and she had a decently friendly company, and before she knew it, she was sleeping, hugging her tail closely. (END) |
